#real life with risa#SHE WASN'T EVEN SCARED SHE ACTUALLY KEPT BATTING AT THE ROBOT FINGERS LMFAO!!!!!!#honestly she was more just curious and it was funny like#'wth does this human have going on NOW?????'#also no one appreciated how funny I was being#they asked what my goals with it were and I started answering#but then they were like insurance isn't gonna care about that unfortunately#and I said OH WORD you want the pageant answer my bad#and later said 'thank you judges!!!!!!!'#anyway EYE think I'm hilarious#also sorry I'm writing an essay in the tag#but I also got the compliment of being well-spoken#which considering I feel like my communication skills have DRASTICALLY decayed since isolation began#That was somewhat nice to hear#but also it just always makes me feel weird#like I know the guy who said it and there was zero condescension about it#he said it more like...with relief lol#like this guy has to deal with a lot of people who get constant denials for their stuff and probably aren't allowed to be as involved#*cough*abusive caregivers/state*cough*#I get that it's a disheartening job and I actually respect that he feels so bitter toward the system#and when I tried to kinda deflect 'Aww well it's just the English degree kicking in!' he was like#'no really. please don't ever lose that about yourself.'#so it was very genuine and I said thank you#but idk#It still makes me feel weird that the compliment bar for disables is so low#that 'oh thank God you have autonomy' counts as one =/#it could also be that I've had that used as a microaggression for being both disabled AND black at different times#so it might just inherently give me the ick even when it's genuine 🤷🏽♀️#ANYWAY GOOD VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!
