Tav is a species of human, their pronouns are they/he. He has never really used makeup because of his upbringing and the value of vanity is very new to them. Zuza is a rusałka, or freshwater siren, she goes by any pronouns. Her species is based on the rusałkas in slavic mythology. In this piece she is in her human disguise, one she based off of her first love after she passed, making the act of sharing parts of her appearence- like makeup, something intimate and affectionate.

When she isn't in her human form, she will look like any other Rusałka, for which i have made this concept art sheet:

There used to be a ConfliCt inside my brain that used to go: "Deer Gem is the Best Gem" and other versions just don't fit. But then season 10 Came around. And [i] fell in love with eldritCh sea monster horror Gem. And [i] really have a thing for CharaCters that are Kind of bloodthirsty, henCe beloved SeCret Life Gem. But even still, [i] just Couldnt let go of the Gem version with antlers and other forest Creature traits.
