I think the funniest trope I love that’s universally in almost every robot centric media from what I can tell is the trope of the robots being resistant to water. Like they can either stand in the rain or literally be thrown into the ocean and be fine. I know we’re at the point with actual technology where water resistance is more common and I understand in a story a robot shouldn’t have such a basic weakness-them being reprogrammed in any capacity or damaged heavily is more drama filled then them malfunctioning from being wet-but it makes me wonder what the fuck the technology is in these stories if you have robots that don’t actually breakdown after being exposed to so much water in their systems.

#meg text #before anyone saids “it’s fiction” your boring lol #there’s so many examples of this happening but I was thinking about this bc of big o again #Roger and O drowning and then Dorothy comes to save them and they get out of water like it’s nothing #when in a earlier ep it was a big deal for big o to be lend to the ocean and almost sink to the bottom #he’s built different ig??#also always so funny when this happened in mega man #never even get a water upgrade until like ZX but the boys would go to water stages constantly #but also with ZX there's at least some more rational logic there because all humans are cyborgs #so I can understand all the technology next to being so far into the future being completely water resistant #but every other human like robot I’m like “how are you not dying”
