GAY ROBITSSS. tell us the Bass information
HIIIIIHIHIHIHI did you ever notice that even though purple is barely in bass' design at all hes associated with the color? this is most likely because hes always seen with treble! that, plus a lot of purple effects and auras are used in his sprites, as well as super/treble boost bass being purple. curiously, no one seems to associate bass with the color yellow, which is actually featured quite heavily in his design. and lastly on this color scheme conversation, bass' color scheme can be rather inconsistent. while most of the time the blue gems on his armor are, well, blue, they will occasionally be made more purple, as well as his usually red eyes sometimes being depicted as pink. the specific shades of black and yellow used in his design also change, but never the purple in his facial markings. that always seems to be the same. his skin tone has also changed occasionally, going from the same as rock's to slightly more tan. a good example of this "alternate color scheme" for bass is his illustrations from mega man & bass (which are my personal favorites. if i ever need to use an image of bass chances are i am grabbing one of those. what can i say, i love bass with pink eyes.)
during the release of mega man: battle & chase, certain infocards about characters were released! while these are generally not considered canon, bass' card had his birthday listed as april 10th. which is a pun! because april 10th is written in japan as 4/10 - four-ten. which sounds like forte. very silly i think. generally, bass' birthday is more accepted as march 24th, which is the release date of mega man 7 (bass' debut game.)
bass' moveset in rockman & forte influenced bass.exe's abilities in mega man battle network! which is very fun for me :) due to battle network being an inherently different game from the classic series, it's not the most obvious, but bass.exe's signature ability (other than copyability, of course) is rapid fire, which was added to bass' moveset in rockman & forte to differentiate his playstyle from mega man's.
final bass fact of the day: he's slightly taller than rock (you can notice this pretty easily by looking at his mega man 7 sprites), but from mega man 8 onward, he's consistently drawn and animated as being hunched over to be the same height as rock. this is because he was first made playable in mega man 8's versus mode (which sucks. don't worry about it) and thus, had to be the same height as rock so the collision and hitboxes would be the same for both of them. bass' hunched over posture is the most noticeable in his rockman & forte sprites, as they actually have an animation for him settling into this posture from his natural height.

On principle, I don't really prefer Cross Fusion as a mainstay, episodic mechanic - Netto already takes up more screentime than Rockman does, and having him be in the lead when it comes to physical fighting just comes across like he's taking over Rockman's role in the show.
However, I do like the concept of it, and I feel like all of my complaints about how it was used are very easily fixable.
Probably my biggest problem with it is that, despite being a fusion mechanic, we don't actually get to see the Operators and Navis working together during it, which is like. the whole point of the series. It comes off more like they're just wearing their Navis' clothes
Which isn't a bad way of setting it up, really, but why are the Operators the only ones in control of their movements? Rockman's voice still comes through with a filter, and he doesn't speak with Netto's mouth, implying that he's just... thinking at him?? Talking through an unidentified intercom in the helmet, maybe??? It's super vague
There's so much you could do with the Navis inhabiting their Operators' bodies, I can't stop thinking about it. Blues being surprised at how fragile Enzan's squishy human body feels, even with the power upgrade. Meiru giving herself a big hug because she and Roll love those.
Rockman tearing up because he never thought he'd get to be in the same world as Netto, and Netto loudly complaining that Rockman's making him look uncool. they start crying twice as hard and Netto refuses to admit that it's because he's emotional about it, too
And even beyond the emotional stuff (or the comedic potential of any bantering), there's some practical things you could consider, too. How strong does the armor actually make them? Would Rockman struggle to use his regular battle strategies now that he has to take Netto's presence into account?
What if there was a cost to using Cross Fusion, like having it wear both of them out quicker? That would definitely add some more stakes to each fight, and make it so that it's not just "business as usual but in the real world." It forces them to think fast and find more efficient ways to deal damage
There's so much potential for character exploration and fight scene creativity with Cross Fusion, and even if I'd rather they stick to the traditional fights more often than not, I would have loved to see them use the ability in more engaging ways
#megaman#rockman.exe#mmbn#megaman battle network#analysis#meta#They might get more creative with it in later episodes to be fair#but the fundamental way it works still needs some tweaks in my opinion#I could probably keep going with ideas for it but this is all I've got for now

Super Famicom - Rockman X2 (Mega Man X2)
Title: Rockman X2 / ロックマンX2
Developer/Publisher: Capcom
Release date: 16 December 1994
Catalogue Code: SHVC-ARXJ-JPN
Genre: Run-N-Gun Platform Action
No. of Players: 1
So, we all knew it was inevitable. With Rockman X's huge success and Capcom's love of proliferating sequels, Rockman X2 was a game that pretty much anyone in the 90s could have seen coming. So, it came as no surprise when Capcom finally announced the sequel was in production and would be released one year after the release of Rockman X. Utilizing a brand-new add-on chip (the Capcom Cx4) that could create 3D wireframe graphics, a plethora of new weapons and a brand-new storyline, Capcom finally released this game to fans everywhere. But how does it stand against one of the best SFC games of all time? Did it improve on an already amazing game, or does it suffer from unnecessary sequel syndrome? Read on.
As stated before, Capcom included a brand-new add-on chip that was capable of creating basic 3D objects, and were told to use it as much as possible. This chip is dubbed the Capcom Cx4. While the graphics are pretty much X's graphics with some tweaks, this is certainly not a bad thing as X had some very amazing graphics for the SFC and the new chip only enhances it. The 3D effect is done well and doesn't feel tacked on like many late SFC games, which simply had it included because 3D was new and cool at the time. Just like Rockman X, as you pick up new weapons and armor, X's sprite changes to reflect the new addition. However, unlike the first X game, the armor upgrades are much more noticeable on the sprite, and by the time you collect all four, X will look much different than when he first started. All in all, these graphics are some of the best that you'll find on the SFC.
X2 continues the darker storyline and though X's storyline was pretty straightforward from the get-go, X2's is full of twists and turns that will keep you enticed. While I won't mention any of the twists, the basic storyline takes place six months after the first X game ends. Having defeated Sigma and supposedly stopped the Maverick's genocide against humans, X returns to his former role as a Maverick Hunter and eventually becomes the leader of the group. However, he's surprised to find out that the Mavericks are still going strong and attempts to hunt them down. However, three powerful Mavericks calling themselves the "X-Hunters" rally a group of Mavericks against him and soon X finds himself fighting eight new robot masters. However, as I mentioned, the story has a few twists and turns that make it a whole lot better, and unlike X, there are actually two different storylines depending on your actions within the game. Because of this, I personally enjoyed Rockman X2's storyline much better than X1's (but X1's was still really cool, if not a bit predictable).
You'll know exactly what to expect from X2. If not, let me explain. Pretty much every game in the classic Rockman series as well as the X series features eight major bosses which you can face in any order. After each boss fights, you gain the ability to use their weapon (of which one of the other bosses has a weakness and can be beaten further with it). After beating all eight stages, you go through a mini gauntlet of four stages that ultimately leads to the final boss.
Sure, Rockman X upped the ante by adding in hidden armor pieces that give you all-new abilities or upgraded stats, hidden sub tanks (which store extra life to be used later) and hearts (which upgrade your life), and lots of little features that are cool like levels changing their environment after beating certain bosses or the bosses themselves having their attack pattern radically altered after you use a specific weapon on them. Rest assured, all these features return in Rockman X2 and there's even a new gameplay feature that truly makes this game replayable.
Rockman X2 isn't a revolutionary sequel that adds numerous unbelievable features to the game, but it sure didn't need to and what it did add makes playing it all the more fun. Honestly, I couldn't imagine how you could top Rockman X, but somehow X2 did that for me and I'd have to rank it as one of my all-time favorite games. If you have any interest in video gaming, you HAVE to get this game. The same addicting gameplay from X is improved and still, a blast, the graphics are still gorgeous, and the storyline was much improved (in my opinion) over X's. Trust me, this game is worth every penny. And while you're picking this up, get Rockman X and X3. You'll be glad you did.

I actually did it guys, I did a full-color (just not full-body) take on Geo’s Black Ace Form, and boy oh boy did it turn out just amazing!! A lot of cleanup was required, but I still had such a fun time trying to pull off the cool, striking look of this form.
Again, if not for the mech-like appearance, I really-really love how his eyes look in this form. It just adds to the whole “otherworldly” feel of Wave/Noise Changes. ( J* v*)J

Victory Gundam Deeply and emotionally breaks it's own characters. Uso painfully learns what loss means, as he sees his precious friends obliterated, often in needless ways. There are times you'd think he's had enough and is ready to check out, but he keeps going. There are many episodes that focus on his tragic feeling of loss. Characters don't just appear for the sake of it and die, there is meaning and value behind their circumstances and choices that leaves an impact on the viewers.
break
As Uso fights, he shows what I love about Tomino protagonists. Too many times, main characters are cowards that rarely ever grow or go anywhere. Uso carries the fire of the protagonists before him, and fights in such a brave manner that it's inspiring to watch. I always appreciate the short, passionate, and blunt comments Tomino protagonists make as they fight, and their analysis and realizations of war that give the viewers much to think about. Uso is also on the search for his parents. This leads to an interesting connection between him and his Gundam, that is very similar to the connection between Shinji and his Eva-01 unit from Neon Genesis Evangelion. As the war rages on, there is an interesting focus on love on the battlefield, all too tragic to the reality that many times our significant others don't make it. Victory Gundam interprets this as painful as it will come to show.
As Uso fights, and tries his best to overcome the reality of war, he becomes the new Newtype. As he fights on, the other characters grow with him. Some for better, and some for worse. Some characters, such as Katejina, fascinate me with some of the most interesting writing and twists.
solo
Uso has the same curse that Yang Wen-li has from Legend of the Galactic Heroes. They are both outright critics who despise war, and yet, they appear to be as if they are the best suited for it with their skills. Uso however, gets put in situations where he could almost be genocidal, and the most kill hungry protagonist I've seen in Gundam thus far. There are times he loses control. Times he gets ahead of himself. Times where he kills, and starts enjoying it too much.
Despite this, You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain amount of madness. In this case, it comes from nonconformity, the courage to turn your back on the old formulas, the courage to invent the future. Besides, it took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity today. Uso is one of these madmen. To the extent that he resists his enslavement is the extent to which he is free.
As much as the soldiers try to arrest the people on Uso's side, and try to blame them, it's clear that Individuals do not create rebellions; conditions do.
End. intro repeats.
The new mobile suit designs in this add to how unsettling this series can get, and it can get very unsettling. Many of the enemy mobile suits look like insects, in such a way they look eerie; almost as if they were organic. At one point there is a centipede type mobile armor, and a giant serpent type. It feels as if this had to inspire the maverick designs in Rockman x3.
The animation does have some problems. There are a few odd slideshows that remind me of the production issues in Super Dimension Fortress Macross. There is reused animation that was very noticeable to me during the re-watch. Because of the lack of shading, some of the characters' noses can look strange. Overall, however, the art and animation is very enjoyable, satisfyingly expressive, and horrifying when it needs to be.
The soundtrack is fantastic. The usual tracks played during battles and build ups are iconic, and can really help in setting the tone. The insert songs help make some of the best moments in Victory Gundam. If you are looking for a great finale, the last 2 episodes of this series ascend it to a different level.
Something about Victory Gundam that is interesting is it's approach with Newtypes. Yes, you should watch the previous Gundam entries before this. If you don't you'll miss the history, context, and breakdown of what the Newtypes are. That is because this series never explains what they are. As a result, those viewers not familiar with the older entries may get confused on what a Newtype is. For viewers like me that did the homework and learned the history with the older Gundam entries, I felt a lot of appreciation for what this series does with Newtypes. Towards the end, it becomes even more important to know the context, as Newtypes start emerging everywhere.
To me, Mobile Suit Victory Gundam is a dark, yet beautiful story that is surprisingly hopeful despite the reputation this has with some viewers. This shows that Tomino, and the staff, were able to take Gundam and take it somewhere new in a wonderful way. At this point in Gundam history, and as much as he may not agree with it, to me, Victory Gundam is Tomino's victory.

2020 Megaman Valentine’s Day Contest - Cat. 1 (Talent) Results!
Thank you to everyone again for your patience! This is getting posted way later than I wanted to. As much as I try to keep it short and sweet, I never do, so bear with my walls of text.
For the talent category this year, the theme was about killing Mega Man with kindness. More specifically, entrants had to create their own original love/Valentine’s-themed Robot Master or equivalent boss character that was created to defeat Mega Man with the power of love! Even though the theme title and concept alluded more to the classic Robot Master character contests, designs for any series were acceptable. But other than one Navi and one Reploid entry, everyone stuck to a Classic-series themed creation. So you were all pretty consistent!
There were a total of 16 entries for this category this year. Thank you all for your participation! It was extremely hard to choose winners for this category, because you all had really clever and creative concepts based off of this theme. So thank you for thinking up such clever and cool characters!!
Also thanks to Reploid 21XX for the coloring book prizes and for some additional insight.
Again, raffle prize winners will be contained in both posts, so keep an eye out between your name and your art. Not all raffle prize winners are contained in this post. I’ll be contacting all winners soon enough, so sit tight! Might be late after work tonight, so don’t panic if you don’t hear from me right after this is posted.
Your category winners and full gallery of entries are right here, after the break:
Category 1 (Talent) - Dr. Wily’s Greatest Creation: Killing Mega Man With Kindness
[Full Talent Gallery]
1.) @mo-sketchbook:
*For coming in 1st, mo-sketchbook has won $100 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value AND a Rockman 7 Coloring Book.*
First and foremost, I appreciate all the effort you put into covering so many aspects of your creation, from the various design viewpoints, weapon get form for Mega Man, and showing the weapon in action. I really loved all the things you integrated into the design to give off the feeling that it is a love-based character. The “love bug” form, cherub-like Heat/Plug-type facial features, and how you utilized hearts in different ways for his design and powers.
I’m no Keiji Inafune, but I feel like this is a concept he would greenlight, in terms of it following his Robot Master design formula. It doesn’t need to be super detailed or flashy, but still fits the mold very well! The thought of the hearts missing their target and love energy then getting weaker is actually pretty clever, too. Cute, and I wuv it.
2.) @peachycircuits:
*For coming in 2nd, peachy has won $50 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value AND a Rockman 7 Coloring Book*
As usual, on the technical side of things, your art is one of the more polished and clean entries of the bunch. Combining a couple different aspects - swans as a creature known as a symbol of love, bonded for life like in marriage, and turning that into an inseparable pair of Robot Masters, was a clever way to think about your design, in terms of the theme of this category.
And then echoing that with the iconic Swan Lake, making them ballet dancers, is like taking Tundra Man and Gemini Man’s concept up another notch. Plus, not gonna lie, amused seeing Mega Man getting equipped with a tutu. LOL So even if it’s not as heart-themed as most of the other entries, I totally liked how you thought outside the box a little bit for this.
3.) Komito Amae:
*For coming in 3rd, Komito has won $25 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value*
I figured a cupid-styled arrow theme would pop up in a bunch of entries, but your Reploid, Beta, here caught my eye. Both in terms of the hearts, arrows and wings incorporated into her armor, and the pretty sweet looking buster that she and X both have equipped.
While I’m not sure how it would play out in the game, I think it would be interesting to suddenly take control of random enemies in a stage, and be able to change perspective as them for a short time, after you have shot them. Whether it would be to take out an enemy horde, or perform a task X can’t that the enemy could, it would be different! Can’t see it quite having the same powerful effect on a Maverick boss, but it’s certainly neat to think about how that could work!
And the rest of the wonderful entries, in alphabetical order by alias:
@autobot-bumblebee:
*Raffle Prize Winner* Dreamwave Comics: Issue 4 Page 15
I’m sorry you didn’t win a cash prize this time! Please don’t take me hostage! I totally loved the creative vintage chocolate factory mascot backstory, along with making your entry like an Ariga-styled character sheet page. Certainly get that retro feel with her clothing design. Her rose blade kinda reminds me of other hand-turned-blade-like-weapon characters, such as Alan Gabriel in the Big O or Ed transmuting one in FMA. Which is always a snazzy transformation for a robot!
@drewblossom:
In all honesty, if I hadn’t placed you in the humor category, I think this would have very likely been somewhere in the top 3 for this category. A cuddly teddy bear with a massive Ariga-Quick Man-sized heart for a chest, extending flailing tube arms, who just wants to hug Mega Man to death is so amusing and awesome of a design. Hugs for everyone!
FluffyFrostyFury:
Your take of heat-seeking arrows and the added high jump powers were certainly a different take compared to the other cupid-styled creations. Definitely would be nice gameplay bonuses when equipped. I like how Mega Man also has the wings sprout out of his head, to mimic Cherub Woman’s pigtails, rather than the usual spot you would assume, on his back.
HealerCharm:
Hahaha, I love how your creation has caused Mega Man to wave the white flag after falling in love...wait, it isn’t White Day, and he should be giving her a gift if it was! XD Her hair tied up into a heart was a creative touch, much like how her dress flows into all those heart shapes. Adorable!
@inanehipsterslang:
Um, can...can I count on you to vote for Bernie this election year?
Remember kids, it’s what’s on the inside that counts, looks don’t matter. Everyone deserves love, even those you consider ‘vermin.’ This was certainly an unexpected take on the theme, and gave me a good laugh, too. ‘Boiling-hot water...with a hint of citrus!’ It burns, but it smells so lemony-fresh!! XD But the two different moves fit together well, to protect and attack.
I like how you still incorporated a heart shape into Rodent Woman’s design with, both in her chest shape and the “nostril” area which is echoed in the Rodent Rover. And also props for giving her the non-armor form, unique compared to other entries.
Mattasaurs:
On the one hand, your design feels so different for a Robot Master, and maybe more Navi-like. But then I get the Astro/Galaxy-type eye vibe, and sort of a Plant Man~ish body with Devil hands feel, and see how it’d fit into Classic. It’s a unique look, and I liked it the more I inspected it. I really do love the idea of the heart bubble entrapping more and more enemies, and the big ol’ group hug ending up bursting their love bubble. It’s a different concept that stood out!
Minnie:
Our Navi of the bunch combined the love bug and cupid design, but your concept changed up the attack to suck out the energy of it’s target. Which almost made me think she should have an arrow-like mosquito nose, to feast on her target that way. XD I liked your wing shield concept and RiCO-styled skirt of hearts. Rock gets some cool shades in his Love Soul/Cross form, and I get the ProtoSoul vibe, with the shield transferring to his arm as well.
@pstart:
Another Heat/Plug-type design Share Man looks cute and sleepy, but is also “clumsy and weak.” His ability is to share body parts, so “the danger is in him sharing his less than ideal parts with his opponents.” It’s a totally neat concept, to see Mega Man lose his buster almost by accident, and now be powerless to stop Share Man. His split color scheme drives home the concept that his parts might not all be his own, and sort of a Frankenstein bot at times. Props to that idea!
While his weapon gives Mega Man the power to make enemies docile and sleepy, I really almost want to see Mega Man get dumb parts of enemies, too! Helmet switched to a Met helmet, Batton wings, a big Suzy eye! It’s now I’ve got your power...but...but what am I supposed to do with it? XD
RetroNinjin:
Unlike most others, your entry pushed the heart theme heavily in her armor design around the entire head and shoulder parts, so I definitely felt the love vibe. The color scheme fits well. Just would have liked to have had seen a little more information about her attack and concept.
RoninApprentice:
Mega Man having a “Wing Man” to set him up is a hilarious and clever idea! I give you kudos for thinking outside the box a bit on your concept and theme here. The shipping chart certainly drives the idea home, too. You still give him a classy/formal look, and keep the wing man aviation origin apparent in his attack style. Certainly a different idea having the heart bowtie transfer to Rock’s helmet in the form change, but it really doesn’t look that bad there, opposed to around his neck like it would be normally.
@star-crossed-swords:
Different from the other cupid concepts, Eros Woman utilizes a Search-Man like targeting system to hit her targets. I like the heart scope addition over her and Rock’s eye when they go into firing mode. You took a different approach to the wing concept compared to others, echoing Cinnamon’s hairstyle in many respects. But it certainly fits with the rest of her design nicely, and looks good for Mega Man’s equipped form.
@star-shaped-soul:
Love that you were able to both include a drawing and your own sprite, to mix in with the weapon equip ones. That is one powerful crush Mega Man has on his enemies now! I feel bad for Crush Man with how big and heavy those snare trap hands of his are. This seems like a Robot Master too cute for Wily to design; more like he stole him and added horrible, cruel hands onto him! This is taking a crush on someone to a whole different level! XD
Yuri Kadry:
When equipped with Cupid Man’s power, I like the visor Mega Man gets. I think this is also a clever use of the weapon, having enemies shot attracted to one another, causing them to collide into each other. Well thought out! Love the original sprite art, and he stands out nicely against the pinks and purples in the background.

The problem with Megaman NT Warrior Axess.
As some of you already know, I finished reviewing the first season of the Rockman.EXE anime aka Megaman Nt Warrior. People have been asking me if I am planning to review the next season of the show that is Axess. The truth is that I have mixed feelings towards Axess because it is very different from the first season. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the show and I know the anime wouldn’t have been successful without Axess. There are a lot of things that I like, but also a lot of things that I don’t like, and if I were to review the episodes in order, it would be best if I got some issues I have with this season out of the way to avoid unnecessary ranting. (Unless you guys like my ranting for some reason)
1. The tone.
I personally like to call Axess the “experimental” season because it feels like it doesn’t even know if it should become a more mature anime or keep the innocent and sometimes goofy nature of the first season. One moment it has some silly situations and funny new characters, and in the next we have our beloved characters going through emotional traumas and being threaten with guns! Not space era guns like the ones the Net Agents had, but real guns. The biggest examples are Enzan and Mariko-sensei. For a kids action show, we get a lot of unnecessary drama, specially between Mariko and her long lost sister who she thought had died many years ago, only to come back and die in front of her twice, or having someone mistake her for Yuriko. I just think they could’ve written something better.
2. Unrecognizable past.
Axess tries to be a little more mature in tone and as a result it completely rewrites the first season like it never happened, at least, not in the way we remember. Changes like the plug-in PETs being replaced by the Advanced PETs that were just starting development in one of the last episodes of the previous season. However, they do mention the N-1 Grand Prix, Netto’s first meeting with Raoul, and the fact that Forte is now walking around in the real world in the former Gospel leader robot body, so that means the first season did happen, but differently? Going back to the tone issue, we get this conflict between Enzan and Blues who becomes corrupted by a Dark Chip that I personally find pretty boring because, one, we already know that Enzan cares about Blues ever since the Pharaohman incident, and two, I don’t care about this “new” Enzan enough to be interested in his life story more than the other characters. (Read the end of my review of episode 55 to see what I mean by new.) If the first season did happen, then why do we need to go into Enzan’s consciousness to see why Blues means so much to him, he didn’t seem to care much before the N-1, did he just forgot? He actually tells Netto after Rockman was deleted that he used to believe that Navis were just data. Some of the events from the first season don’t fit in well with Axess’s storyline making it very confusing.
3. Getting rid of old characters.
Another change was suddenly getting rid of some of the characters in the very first episode. Throughout the first season we follow the adventures of Netto and his group of friends comprised of Meiru, Dekao, Yaito and Tohru, as well as their Net Navis, but in Axess, Dekao suddenly decides to move to Jawaii to train with the Ex-WWW (who I don’t need to remind you that they are bad people) and leaves his little brother Chisao in Japan for some reason. Yaito moves back to Kingland to continue her studies or something, but then what was the point in moving to Japan from England (Kingland before it was a thing) in the first place?. And Tohru.... Well, he is still around, but let’s just say that he is not part of the group as much as before. Speaking of Tohru, Iceman gets a downgrade, he is now viewed more like a small child who hangs around with another small child like character, and less of a competent Navi that is capable of helping Rockman and the others to fight, which becomes very uncomfortable if you are used to his voice from the Dub.
The Net Agents are replaced with the Net Police as they were probably viewed as too silly for the new mature Rockman anime. So Axess sends them abroad with nothing but their space era guns only to return for a couple of episodes, one to remind us of the love triangle between Mariko-sensei, Higure and Masa as Commander Beef, and another just for Rockman to get Wood Soul from Woodman, which replaces the Style change in Axess.
4. Cross Fusion.
A drastic change, however, comes in the form of Cross Fusion. It might be hard to believe, considering all my CF design ideas, but I am not a fan of this concept. My theory is that Cross Fusion is a bold move the writers made to make the show more action like and appealing to young boys. In America, super hero cartoons are very popular, so in order to profit a little from that, the series had to be slightly modified to include more super hero transformation sequences and make the audience relate to Netto by fusing him with Rockman. Because Rockman is a computer program, kids can’t really relate to him, so they passed that torch onto Netto who basically takes over the show as the hero.
I don’t like this because I love Rockman, he is my hero and the main character, I never cared if I could relate to him or not, you relate with Netto as the human who develops a bond with an A.I. program that is loyal, always does the right thing, and does what he can to protect his friends. The whole point of the show is that they are best friends and their bond is what makes them a strong team, but even if Cross Fusion claims to be the result of that bond, it mostly just feels like it’s just Netto wearing Rockman as an armor.
There is also the problem with the action scenes in Cross Fusion. Not only do we get the same formula over and over again in Axess, but the battles are not as good as the ones in the Cyberworld. When you see Rockman fight, he jumps around, evades attacks, delivers punches and kicks when it’s necesary, making his fights entertaining. Netto on the other hand... Doesn’t really know how to fight, he relies more on brute force, the power of his chips, and almost never dodges attacks, the only thing that CF battles have going for them is the amount of damage they bring to the real world.
Anyway, these are just my opinions, but I’ll let you decide whether or not I review the Axess episodes in order, or have me review certain episodes from that or other seasons of Rockman.EXE.

Summary:
Zero isn’t an asset. It’s a person. Ten minutes later, a reploid walks out from the elevators and beelines towards Samarth’s cubicle. Specifically, a reploid wearing flashy red armor with gold accents likened to an obnoxious sports car, questionable gem placements, blond hair for days, and a pair of sharp blue eyes on a face that Samarth wouldn’t be surprised if it has its own insurance.
In which a human accountant has to deal with the literal money blackhole that is Zero after the Rebellion.
I’ve been receiving a couple writing commissions lately and this one was super fun to write!
Personally. I think if the IRS caught onto the Hunters before Sigma’s Rebellion, the Hunters would have gone down ala Al Capone style XD

Super Famicom - Rockman X (Mega Man X)
Title: Rockman X / ロックマンX
Developer/Publisher: Capcom
Release date: 17 December 1993
Catalogue Code: SHVC-RX
Genre: Blaster Platform Action
No. of Players: 1
Aw yes, Rockman is back after spending life on the Famicom, and now he’s on the Super Famicom and more X-treme than ever. That’s what the X stands for, I’d imagine. I’d like to clarify that the X isn’t a Roman numeral in this instance, and it doesn’t mean ten, which seems to be a common misconception. Rockman X distinguishes itself as its own series by setting itself a hundred years in the future of the original Rockman titles. Yes indeed, instead of the year 20XX, we find ourselves joining a brand-new blue bomber in the year 21XX! Also, instead of playing as a robot child wearing his robo-undies outside his jumpsuit, we get to play as a robot teenager wearing his robo-undies outside his jumpsuit! How much more X-treme can you get?
On the surface, Rockman X’s gameplay is roughly the same as the original series’ gameplay mechanics. However, the things that have been added change the experience quite a bit. In the original series, Rockman only obtained power-ups by defeating bosses, while in X, health and armor upgrades as well as sub-tanks (which essentially replace the E-tanks found in the original Rockman 1 until 5 at this point) are hidden throughout the stages. This makes exploring the levels extremely satisfying. As soon as I found my first piece of armor, I was hooked.
The biggest, and most game-changing addition to Rockman X is the wall jump. This is no ordinary Super Metroid-style wall jump, either, oh no. Not only can Rockman leap back and forth between walls Batman style, but he can also ascend a single wall simply by repeatedly humping it. This makes vertical exploration a cinch and also provides you a way to survive a slightly misjudged leap. Another interesting addition is an armor upgrade that gives you the ability to dash forward which can be coupled with a jump to clear larger distances. This makes boss battles more exciting and allows you to get around faster than in classic Rockman games.
The bosses are a hell of a lot more fun to fight. The robot masters are all new, and now they follow a different naming scheme than the one found in the original Rockman titles. Instead of merely being robot men, the X series masters are robot animals. The result is even more interesting boss battles. What you wind up with are bosses like Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle. Yeah, that’s way cooler than Dust Man and Plant Man. Plus, there’s a lot more variety to their attacks. Their battles feel a lot more action-packed and frantic and there’s a lot less emphasis on having the right weapon at the right time.
Rockman X benefits from the generation jump to the SFC quite a bit. Everything in the game absolutely pops. The stages are colorful, the music rocks, more enemies are packed on screen and the characters are detailed. The graphics are tremendously clean and cartoony, and the animations are actually quite detailed. It still retains the charm that the original Rockman series had, but everything is amped up. It’s faster, more exciting, and more action-packed. It truly feels like an upgrade to the old formula.
