A little bit of jam [B. R.]
Bob Reynolds x fem!mutant!reader
wc: 2.5k
Marvel and I are so fucking back, baby!! I think this mass love hysteria toward Bob is the best, and I honestly wanted to play with the "found family" trope a little because I love it so much. I hope you like it!
and if u have any idea, let me know ;)

Two months had already passed.
Two months since the sky split in two, since the world almost went to hell—again—and since a dysfunctional group of dangerously competent people were thrust into the headlines as the new “heroes.” No one was sure if the title was too big or too accurate. The only clear thing was that, after surviving hell together, you had ended up sharing something more than a mission.
Now you lived in the old Avengers Tower. Together.
It wasn't an official government decision or part of any rehabilitation protocol. It just happened. Most of you didn't have a fixed place to return to, and the few who did... didn't want to return at all. So, without saying it out loud, you started staying. One night. Then a week. Then a sofa became a bed, a kitchen became a habit, and lights left on at all hours stopped seeming strange. Without seeking it, you had made it work. As if the disaster had woven an impossible routine between people who, otherwise, would never have shared more than one mission.
Nobody said it, but you knew it.
You finally, amid all that chaos, felt like you fit in somewhere. You weren’t an Avenger, you weren’t an X-Men, you were never officially from anywhere. You’d grown up far from anyone who could explain to you what to do about your mutation, and you’d spent more time evading labels than claiming them. But now… now you had a room with your name written on the door in permanent marker (thanks to Yelena), a mug for your coffee (which sometimes Alexei stole from you), and an old Bob sweatshirt that you’d sometimes find hanging on your desk chair for no reason; as if someone knew when you needed it more than you did.
So, little by little, you began to look more like a team, a real team. But also, in a way, you shared a certain familiarity that all of you definitely needed in your lives.
Weekends were occasions, without explicitly stating it, to spend time together. Sometimes you'd just gather in the living room, put on a movie, and the rest would join in, or someone would start drinking, and soon you were all doing it.
Speaking of which, that day you had decided that a few boxes of donuts wouldn't hurt you and your friends. Maybe you could even make some coffee, since with the rain that had started to fall in the city, that seemed like a good plan.
When you walked in, you could see most of them. Yelena was sitting on the floor, completely wrapped in a huge blanket, eating a bag of chips with her feet up on the coffee table. Ava was leaning against the wall, silently observing everything, her arms crossed and a neutral expression that didn't quite hide her curiosity. John Walker was flipping through a magazine upside down, clearly just pretending to read while he kept an eye on what you had brought. Alexei was snoring in the largest armchair, face up, a remote control resting on his chest, as if it were a sacred artifact. Bucky was leaning against the counter, probably making himself a drink or reviewing policy documents.
And Bob… Bob was probably in his room. You noticed he was sleeping a lot lately. Not because he was lazy, not because he was idle, but because he was carrying his own mind, his memories, The Void… exhausted him in ways the others could barely understand. So none of you blamed him for taking long naps.
“I brought donuts,” you announced, in case anyone hadn’t noticed the packages you were holding.
NO one refused the food, and even Alexei, who seemed to be asleep, got up to get a couple upon hearing your announcement. You'd bought a variety of flavors, a box of classics and some more sophisticated ones, so almost all of you sat down at the coffee table to enjoy.
You exchanged a few pleasantries, talked about things that had happened and possible future missions. At one point, when everyone had already eaten at least two pieces, you saw Walker's hand reach for the box of donuts.
Serious mistake.
“NO!” you screamed, almost like a spring.
John froze, his finger brushing the blackberry's glossy glaze.
“Why not?” he asked, offended, as if you had denied him the last glass of water on the planet.
“That one’s for Bob.”
“But Bob isn’t here.”
“But it’s for him!” you insisted, crossing your arms, as if that closed the case.
“There’s more!”
“But don’t eat that one. Eat anything else.”
“It’s my favorite!”
“Well, what a shame, there’s only one and it’s not yours.”
Suddenly, everyone seemed interested in the donut. It was a blackberry donut with vanilla glaze, a small work of art in dessert form. The fluffy, lightly browned dough was covered in a smooth, glossy glaze that smelled of natural vanilla extract, not the cheap, cloying imitation. Above the glaze, a purple swirl of homemade jam snaked like a miniature galaxy, with tiny pieces of blackberry peeking out here and there like barely revealed secrets.
“I saw it first,” he replied, his hand now closer to the box.
“DON’T TOUCH IT!”
By then, Ghost had already materialized behind John, her head peeking out from over his shoulder.
"What if I cut it into two equal parts? Half for each of you."
“I said no!” you shouted.
“Do it,” John concluded, lifting the box to give it to Ava.
Yelena, sitting on the couch, gave a curious look while she chewed her third donut with total shamelessness.
"Why don't we just hide it and see who finds it first? Like a stupid, grown-up version of a treasure hunt?"
“No one’s going to hide that donut. I already told you it’s Bob’s,” you complained, twisting around to shield the box with your body as if it were a nuclear device.
Alexei, sitting at the bar with a beer in his hand, licked his lips.
"I say the only fair solution is hand-to-hand combat. Whoever wins keeps it!"
“No!” you shouted, and Bucky joined in. However, your friends had a different opinion.
“I fight,” Ghost said.
“You didn’t even want it in the first place!”
“Me too,” Walker said, already taking off his jacket.
“I can eat it while you guys fight!” Yelena said, but you had already thrown a pillow at her with surgical precision.
The room became a chaotic choreography: Walker dodging Ava, Yelena climbing the back of the couch like a cat on sugar overload, you trying to put the box on top of the cupboard, Ghost dematerializing mid-leap.
From his position, Bucky watched you like an exhausted dad and issued a warning about not breaking any of the furniture. Alexei, at his side, was shouting to encourage the fight.
Peace only returned when a sleepy voice was heard from the hallway:
“Why are you shouting? What time is it?”
Bob peeked out, his hair a mess and his eyes still squinting from his nap. The chaos stopped. You all looked at him. And you held the box up in the air like it was a trophy.
“Take it away!”
"What?"
“Take it!” you practically ordered him.
The poor man stumbled over to you and snatched the box from you, hearing a collective sigh. You were relieved, the others were annoyed.
"What is this?"
“I bought you a donut,” you explained simply.
Then he frowned and opened the box. It was a little squashed, but the blackberry dessert was still in one piece.
Bob blinked.
“Were you all killing each other over a donut?”
Perhaps it was the incredulous tone of voice, or how ridiculous the situation sounded when said out loud, but suddenly all of you found yourself holding back a laugh. A few seconds later, laughter erupted.
“What a shitty team we are.”
“We can share it, if you want…”
"Yes!"
“No!” you shouted in unison. Bob flinched slightly at the tone of your voice. “Walker can choke on all that’s left, but that one’s for you.”
You said it in a way that left no room for argument and he smiled slightly.
“It’s my favorite.”
“That’s what I said!” John complained. However, he didn’t pursue the matter further and approached the others, taking two more donuts as a sign of resignation.
As quickly as chaos had appeared, it was gone.
Alexei occasionally expressed his approval of what had just happened, arguing that this kind of situation was an exercise in group bonding. You thought you heard Bucky call you idiots, but in a tone that made it clear he didn't mean it.
"Here"
Your murmur brought Bob out of his thoughts, and he smiled broadly when you placed a mug in his hand. It was a gift from Yelena and was inscribed with: Today is a good day. Very appropriate, in your opinion.
"Thanks”
“Two of milk and one of sugar,” you announced with satisfaction.
His happiness only increased when he realized that you were actually paying attention to him.
You plopped down next to him on the soft couch—most people's favorite when it came to a nap—and he shrank down to give you space, sitting in the lotus position as he always did.
You watched him out of the corner of your eye. That day, he was wearing a thick, slightly baggy olive-green sweater with slightly long sleeves. The color had a muted hue, like moss or old pine, which brought out the sparkle in his eyes.
There was a white T-shirt underneath, barely visible at the neck. A pair of soft, dark gray sweatpants, the kind with drawstrings and deep pockets. And on his feet, a pair of dark socks with which he glided around the tower.
He didn't look scruffy, just comfortable.
“I got scared a little while ago. I thought something bad was happening.”
You let out a soft chuckle at his confession, feeling the tension in the air melt away.
“I’m sorry we woke you up.”
“Don’t worry. At least it wasn’t in vain,” he smiled reassuringly, taking a sip of his hot drink. The steam brushed his face before he opened the dessert box and looked at him with more than just hunger.
“How did you know this was my favorite?” he asked, surprised, as he carefully turned the box over in his hands.
“You told me.”
He looked up at you, clearly confused.
“Well… you didn’t tell me directly. I heard you muttering it in your sleep.”
“Do I talk in my sleep?”
“Apparently so. And you actually answer. Because when you said I'd give you a donut, I asked you what you were talking about… and you said you wanted this one.”
"How embarrassing.”
“It’s kinda cute, if you think about it.”
The rest of the group was absorbed in their conversations, muted laughter, and the occasional impromptu board game. Between you, the air felt more intimate, softer.
Bob took a bite of the donut. The slight crackle of the glaze broke with the sound of a deep sigh, as if something inside had loosened.
“When I was a good kid, my mom used to give me money to buy one of these,” his voice lowered slightly, almost as if he wasn’t sure if he should share “It wasn’t all the time, of course. And sometimes we went together, on the… the better days, you know. I think everything seemed simpler back then.”
He was silent for a moment.
“I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately, maybe that’s why I mentioned it in my sleep.”
“Oh… I… had no idea.”
“But it's a good thing. I forgot how good it tastes” a soft, nostalgic smile spread across his face. “I always liked this flavor because it has just the right amount of sweetness, with a hint of sourness. “I feel like it’s very similar to what life is like.”
He was silent again for a second, fiddling with the napkin between his fingers.
“It’s probably not something you’re interested in, but…”
“Yes, I’m interested,” you quickly interrupted “Any story you want to tell us will interest us, Bob. There’s Alexei with all his anecdotes from his years in the service… we’ve never complained, even though he tells them over and over again.”
He laughed a little, brief but genuine.
“Do you want to try some?”
“But it’s yours”
“I'd like you to try it. It's something I want to share.”
You hesitated for only a second before accepting. You leaned closer and took a small bite from the side opposite the one he'd tried. The flavor was more intense than you expected: sweet, sour, and smooth all at the same time.
Bob watched you silently, as if observing your reactions was more important than the dessert itself. When your lips curved into a smile, he nodded, satisfied.
“It's delicious.”
“Um, you have a little bit of jam left…” he said softly, leaning slightly towards you. He raised a hand, hesitant, then pointed a finger at your lower lip “This way.”
His gaze dropped to your mouth. The air seemed to stop for a moment.
For a moment, just a moment, it seemed as if he was going to lean closer. That he was going to wipe the jam off with his lips instead of his hand.
His eyes searched yours. And then, he took a deep breath. He lowered his hand, barely brushing your chin with his fingertips, and pulled away with a shy smile.
"That's it."
You didn't say anything at first. The warmth was still there, floating in the air, unnamed.
“You should, uh, drink your coffee. Before it gets cold.”
Your friend nodded at your suggestion and after that you tried to shake the nervousness from your mind, ignoring the sting that still burned where he had touched you.
Minutes later, fatigue began to take its toll. The noise of the group became a distant murmur, almost like a lullaby in the background. Bob leaned back slightly on the couch, still holding his cup in one hand. Without thinking twice, you approached and rested your head on his shoulder.
“Do you mind if I stay like this for a while?” you asked quietly.
“No. Stay”
His words were gentle. There was something so serene about him that made you close your eyes. Your arm instinctively reached for his, wrapping it around him in a gesture that didn't ask for permission, only offered shelter.
Bob stayed still, careful with every movement, as if breathing deeply could bother you. He felt your weight against his side, your breathing slowing. The warmth of your body was unlike any blanket; it was human, alive.
He felt held, loved, in a way he hadn't known he needed so much.
The team was always affectionate toward him. Many patted him on the back, hugged him unexpectedly, or sat very close without question. But this… this was different. It wasn't a casual display of affection. It was something that asked him to stay. Something that said: you're safe here.
He looked at you once more. You were already asleep, your lips parted and your brow barely relaxed. And although the chair wasn't entirely comfortable, and the noise continued in the background, Bob didn't want to move.
Not that night.

One night?
Hugh jackman x fem bod reader
Masterlist words: 6.4k
After a one-night stand with 55-year-old Hugh Jackman, you feel awkward and try to avoid him. Meanwhile, Hugh confidently brags about it to your mutual friend, Ryan , who playfully meddles to bring you two together.
Warning: reader is lowkey hard to get, one night stand, unprotected sex (no mention of use of protection)
The evening air was alive with the buzz of social chatter, glasses clinking, and laughter resonating off the walls of a stylish loft downtown. You had been dragged out of your comfortable corner of solitude by your friend, Ryan Reynolds, who insisted that you needed some fun in your life. “Trust me, you won’t regret it,” he had said with that mischievous sparkle in his eyes that always hinted at trouble.
You weren’t so sure, but as you stepped into the lively atmosphere, you felt an electrifying shift. The dim lights, artfully placed, cast a warm glow over smiling faces, and an eclectic mix of music pulsed through the air, drawing people in. It didn’t take long before your reservations melted away, and you found yourself in a conversation with a group of familiar and unfamiliar faces.
And then you saw him—Hugh Jackman. The man was a phenomenon, both in presence and stature. He stood across the room, laughing heartily at something Ryan had said, his infectious energy making it hard for anyone not to smile simply at the sight of him. You’d seen him on-screen, the charismatic hero, the rugged romantic—all those roles where he effortlessly commanded attention. But seeing him in person was an entirely different experience, as if he radiated a warmth that drew people close.
After a few glasses of wine, you felt more daring. You joined in the laughter, and soon you found yourself at the center of attention, with Hugh leaning closer, his voice rich and dulcet. The two of you exchanged banter, playful teasing leading to more poignant moments. There was an undeniable chemistry, but you kept trying to rationalize it. He was a superstar, after all. This vivacity was just part of the package.
As the night deepened, Ryan made another appearance, raising his glass in a toast, playfully calling Hugh a “debonair devil” and throwing you into the spotlight. “Everyone, meet the incredible [Your Name]—the one who’s managed to actually keep up with our Hugh!” His words hung in the air, and you flushed at the attention. But instead of retreating, something inside you ignited.
The next few hours passed in a delightful haze. You lost track of time, your laughter blending with the music. More drinks led to more boldness, and before you knew it, you and Hugh were wandering off, away from the prying eyes of party-goers. He casually wrapped an arm around your shoulder, leaning in close as he whispered playful jokes, leaving trails of electricity in the air between you.
Eventually, you found yourselves in a secluded corner of the rooftop, the skyline of the city stretching beneath the starlit sky. The world felt far away, and in that moment, the spark turned into a wildfire. You kissed. One kiss quickly morphed into several, each more fervent than the last, a build-up of desire igniting the space between you. It was exhilarating and terrifying, and in his embrace, the age gap, fame, and reason all slipped away.
When the night finally turned into early morning, you bundled up in Hugh’s oversized jacket as you stumbled back inside, laughter still spilling from your lips. There was a softness to the quiet hours, a comforting intimacy that felt not just appropriate, but destined. Hugh is a true gentleman, even during the sex and you are happy you got to find that out.
Yet, as dawn crested over the city, reality came rushing in, and an urgent wave of self-awareness swept over you. Morning light filtered through the large windows, illuminating every detail of the loft—the coffee table strewn with discarded cups, your shoes haphazardly piled by the door. Hugh stirred beside you, his features softened in sleep, and you could hardly process the weight of what had happened.
You slipped out of bed, heart racing, panic clawing its way up as regret mingled with shock and embarrassment. What had you done? You never intended to become a fleeting escapade for someone like him, yet there you were. Barely muttering a goodbye, you rushed to dress, avoiding his sleepy gaze as you pushed through the door into the sunlight.
Outside, you took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp morning air. Your heart still raced, but not just from the remnants of exhilaration—doubt began to seep in. Did Hugh think this was all some grand joke? You knew you would have to confront him again, perhaps inevitably, and the very thought filled you with dread.
Bounding into the day, the encounter lingered heavy in your mind, and the weight of uncertainty settled in your chest. And in the back of your head, a nagging fear surfaced as you realized this wasn't just a one-off night. It was a fleeting moment that could hold consequences, not just for your heart but for how you'd navigate the world that now felt altered, charged.
As you moved through your day, rushing toward the familiar comforts of routine, you couldn’t shake the feeling of being caught in a whirlwind that had started with a laugh and a chemistry that simmered just below the surface. Would you plunge back into that world, face Hugh again, and risk the brittle facade of this night you now lived tangled in emotions? You weren’t sure, but one thing was certain—everything was different now.
The days turned into weeks, and time seemed to slip through your fingers like sand. The memory of that spontaneous night with Hugh Jackman haunted you, but not with the sweetness of nostalgia; instead, it lingered like an awkward itch you couldn’t scratch. You told yourself it was just a moment of misplaced passion, a blip on the radar of your usually controlled existence. Yet each encounter you avoided only intensified your feelings of embarrassment.
At work, you braced yourself for the inevitable moment of bumping into him. The open-plan office felt smaller, each cubicle a potential minefield. Your heart raced every time you heard footsteps echoing down the hall, and you were always caught off-guard when the laughter of your colleagues reached your ears, signifying a potential run-in with Hugh. You stuck to the kitchen and the far corners of your office like they were safe havens. Every time you spotted him, the warmth of his smile haunted your thoughts, and you’d scurry away like a mouse caught in the spotlight.
Your friends began to notice your odd behavior, and they found it amusing. As if they were part of a clandestine club, they would share whispers whenever you entered a room where Hugh was present. The urgency to escape their knowing glances made you feel small. You were convinced that they could hear your heart pounding in your chest, your cheeks flaming red.
One evening, a mutual friend of yours and Hugh’s, Ryan Reynolds, decided to host a gathering at his place. The list of invitees was promising—a mix of familiar faces and the usual suspects from the entertainment industry. You had hoped the guest list would deter Hugh and allow you to slip into the evening undetected, but as you entered the lively apartment filled with laughter and chatter, there he was, standing in the corner, casually sipping on a glass of whiskey, looking effortlessly charming.
You grabbed a drink from the bar and sought refuge in a group at the opposite end of the room, this time determined to blend in and keep your distance. Your heart raced every time you caught a glimpse of his broad shoulders and that infectious grin. When Ryan approached, smirking, and nudged you lightly, you decided to change the subject.
“Did you see the latest episode of that show we like?” you blurted out, desperate for an escape.
Ryan grinned widely, his deep-set dimples growing more pronounced. “Oh, come on. You’re not even trying to play it cool. Just look at him!” He gestured dramatically toward Hugh, who was now animatedly recounting some event to a group of adoring listeners. “You’ve got to admit there’s a certain kind of charm to him. Plus, he's quite the catch.”
Your stomach twisted at his words. “He’s Hugh Jackman. He’s a movie star for a reason. What would he want from me, anyway?”
Ryan raised an eyebrow. “You seem to underestimate yourself. It’s not just about fame or looks; he clearly found something intriguing about you, too. Have you talked to him since… you know?” He leaned closer, lowering his voice theatrically. “The one-night stand?”
You shot him a glare, your face feeling hot again. “No, and I don’t plan to. I’m not interested in being someone’s fling, not now and not with him.”
Ryan chuckled, his laughter contagious. “Suit yourself, but you know avoidance doesn’t work forever. It’ll just make things more awkward when you finally do talk. Trust me, buddy. You either have to confront him or accept your fate as the queen of dodging Hugh Jackman at every social event in town.”
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head in futility. Ryan had a point, but the thought of facing Hugh made you sick. You mentally berated yourself for allowing your life to spiral into this convoluted game of hide-and-seek with a man who seemed entirely unbothered by your embarrassment.
A slow current of tension poured through the room as you tried to engage in conversation with other guests, but every laugh, every joke, felt somehow muted when you knew Hugh was just a few feet away. It didn’t help that your thoughts kept betraying you, forever looping back to the memory of his touch, the warmth of his embrace, and the intoxicating thrill of the night you had shared.
As the night wore on, you found yourself perched on the edge of an armchair, a drink clutched in your hands, your pulse racing. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see him across the room, his attention shifting from one friend to another. Ryan sauntered over, his aim on your emotional crutch as he settled beside you.
“You’re really living up to ‘avoidance game’ title,” he quipped lightly as he sipped his drink, leaving you to quietly groan in embarrassment. “What are you going to do when it’s just the two of you alone? Hide in the bathroom?”
“Shut up, Ryan.” You shot him a half-hearted jest, but the truth tugged at you from within. The urge to vanish from the room altogether was becoming harder to ignore.
To your horror, Ryan had zero intentions of letting the subject rest. With a devilish grin, he called out over the din. “Hey, Hugh! Come over here!”
You felt your throat go dry as panic swallowed you whole. Before you could protest, you discovered there was no easy escape; Hugh broke through the crowd toward you, his smile brightened with surprising enthusiasm.
“Hey, there!” he greeted, his voice smooth like aged whiskey. “We’ve got to stop running into each other this way. Are you casually dating or just playing hard to get?” His playful tone masked a serious undertone, leaving you speechless.
The laughter of others dissolved into the background as you met his gaze. There was a mischievous twinkle in his eye that made you feel hilariously exposed. Suddenly, Ryan’s amused commentary faded, and the chatter around you became nothing but white noise.
Feigning nonchalance, you tried to muster a witty response, but your mind raced with conflicted thoughts. Just as you opened your mouth, however, Ryan interjected, refusing to let you hide. “Come on! Aren’t you going to admit how much fun you both had that night?”
Your heart plummeted as you caught sight of Hugh’s quirked brow. That single comment could either seal your fate or force you into uncharted territory.
You took a deep breath. “It was fun, sure, but it was just one night,” you managed to say. The words tasted bitter on your tongue, unintentionally cloaking your vulnerability.
Hugh leaned closer, a glimmer of intrigue sparking in his eyes. “Just one night can be quite a catalyst, you know. But I get it,” he said smoothly. “I was just saying it could be… more. If you’re open to that.”
His words rippled through you, deflating the air of retreat you’d clung to. You exchanged glances with Ryan, who bore a look of triumph, and felt a flicker of courage bloom in your chest. Maybe it was time to start facing your fears instead of running away.
The night went on, and while the laughter and conversations flowed, one fact remained clear: you could only avoid Hugh so long. It was time to take a step, however small, toward the possibilities ahead.
The days melted into a haze of awkward encounters and isolated avoidance. You hyper-extended your social calendar to dodge the chance of running into Hugh. Your daily routine became a game of evasive maneuvers, transforming grocery trips and coffee runs into tactical missions. You would glance around the corner of the café, peeking through the narrow opening, praying he wasn’t inside. Your friend circle, once a source of laughter, now felt like a confining labyrinth.
But Ryan Reynolds had other plans—a devilish mind full of schemes and mischief. You didn’t realize how invested he was in the unfolding amorous soap opera until an impending charity gala invitation arrived in your inbox. It read:
“Hey, you can’t miss this one! Hugh will definitely be there, and I’ll save you a dance! XOXO, Ryan.”
You swallowed hard, feeling the weight of dread anchor itself in your stomach.
That evening, dressed in a sleek emerald gown, you stood before the mirror in your hallway, giving yourself one last pep talk. “It’s just one night. Get through it. Nothing to fear.” The familiar jingle of Ryan’s laughter echoed in your mind, but this time it struck a different chord. You mentally cursed him for playing matchmaker, knowing full well he would be waiting for the inevitable spectacle of your internal collapse.
When you arrived at the gala, the glimmer of extravagant decorations momentarily distracted you from your emotional turmoil. The venue was alive with chatter, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. You searched the ballroom, and amidst the chaos, you spotted Ryan’s gleaming smile against the crowd, his eyes twinkling with mischief. Then, you saw him: Hugh. He looked somehow both regal and entirely rebellious, in a tailored suit that clung to his form with effortless charm.
Your heart raced. It felt as if the universe had conspired to throw you into the lion’s den.
“Hey! You made it!” Ryan greeted you with exaggerated enthusiasm, effectively drawing your attention to Hugh, who was, tragically, making his way toward your small gathering. You exchanged panicked glances with Ryan, but there was no escape route—just your relentless heart drumming against your chest.
“Look who it is!” Hugh exclaimed with that signature grin that managed to light up the whole room. You couldn’t help but respond with a forced smile, suddenly very aware of the heat radiating from your cheeks.
“Hi, Hugh,” you managed, your voice coming out steadier than you felt.
“Got you all dolled up, huh?” His comment was playful, laced with teasing familiarity. You felt the anxiety begin to swirl again. Though the audience was largely indifferent, Ryan leaned closer with his trademark smirk, as if reveling in the banter between you two.
“Oh, it’s been a while since I dressed up. Didn’t think I’d find you here,” you said, trying your best to sound relaxed while grappling with the tension in your own words.
“Ryan insisted I swing by,” he said casually, motioning towards Ryan, who clearly found amusement in your awkward exchange. “He’s been raving about all the beautiful faces here tonight.”
At this point, it was clear He was getting a kick out of your flustered demeanor, while Ryan, the instigator, was eagerly observing the spice of your misadventure with barely contained laughter.
“By the way, I’ve heard some nasty rumors about you avoiding me. Let’s debunk them now, shall we?” Hugh asked, his tone teasing yet somehow probing deeper than anything Ryan could dream up.
You felt your insides twist. “Avoid? Me?” The denial rolled off your tongue before you could even process those ridiculous feelings of shame.
Hugh leaned closer; his eyes glinted with something mischievous, perhaps even a challenge. “Sure. But don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
Just then, Ryan interjected, “What’s going on here? I thought this was a gala, not an interrogation!” His laughter rang merrily through the tension, lightening the mood a fraction yet also amplifying your sense of confinement.
“Don’t mind me. I was just appreciating the chemistry,” Hugh replied, his tone laced with flirtation.
You felt your lips press together firmly to suppress whatever might escape. “Well, I’m happy you found it amusing,” you retaliated, your nerve momentarily bolstered by indignation. Ryan’s laughter resonated around you like salt on your wounds.
“Let me ask you this,” Hugh continued, looking at you, his famous brow furrowed with determination. “What are you so afraid of? You’ve got me intrigued.”
Your heart kicked in at his words. Intrigued? Was it that simple? You caught a glimpse of sincerity in his eyes somewhere beneath the lighthearted banter, as if he was feigning levity to mask genuine interest.
Before you could respond, Ryan jumped in with a grand orchestration. “Alright, let’s get the dancing started!” He whisked you away, and despite the crowd surging past you, you felt a subtle pull to where Hugh was standing, eyes lingering over both you and Ryan.
As you danced, your thoughts revolved around the mess of your emotions, the fun and confidence in face of uncertainty somehow intertwined with an undeniable charm. Ryan continued attempting to match orchestrations that would leave you both in funny situations.
But ultimately, it was the persistent voice of Hugh’s laughter and charisma echoing throughout the room that cast an undeniable shroud over your every thought. Ryan’s meddling had only intensified the reality—you were drawn to this man, this older man, despite all your attempts to convince yourself otherwise.
Unbeknownst to Ryan, who was orchestrating his playful havoc, you could feel the walls starting to crumble. Hugh’s undeniable charm kept you hanging on each word, and deep down, you sensed that perhaps this could still lead someplace unexpected—even if it meant letting go of your fears in the process.
Tonight might be the night you had to confront your own feelings—for better or worse.
The weeks following that fateful night had been a whirlwind of awkward social engagements and an assortment of encounters with Hugh Jackman that left you bombarded with mixed emotions. Each time you saw him, your heart raced, and you felt the heat of embarrassment crawl up your neck. All your efforts to hide away—from cozy cafes to spontaneous happy hours—proved futile when your closest friend, Ryan Reynolds, couldn’t resist pulling you both into the same orbit.
Life turned into a game of avoidance, but the irony was that the more you avoided Hugh, the more his playful demeanor shone through, like a beacon drawing you in. No matter how you tried to be indifferent, each encounter left you flustered and conflicted as Hugh’s cocky grin made your resolve waver. You were becoming increasingly aware, however, that he wasn’t merely playing. There was a persistent undercurrent of genuine interest in his gaze.
But that day—today—you could take it no longer. You were tired of squabbling with your emotions, tired of feeling like you were hiding from the world. No more dancing around it. You had to confront him. In your mind, a million phrases swirled as you prepared for this moment. “Is this a joke for you?” “Do you even care?” “What do you want?”
Arming yourself with an unflinching resolve, you decided to confront Hugh at a coffee shop where the three of you had agreed to meet for brunch. When you arrived, you noticed him already seated, a radiant smile gracing his handsome features as he spoke animatedly with Ryan. Their laughter floated high, light and easy.
Taking a deep breath—and ignoring the flutter in your stomach—you strode up to them, trying to project an air of calm confidence. Ryan’s eyes caught yours first, and his playful smirk grew wider, silently cheering you on. “Ah, look who decided to join us!” he said, leaning back in his chair.
Hugh’s gaze flickered up, and though his smile remained, there was a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. “Hey, you! You still look like you’re avoiding a hangman’s noose!”
“Can we talk?” you said, giving him no room to wiggle out of your demands. “Just you and me.” You gestured for Ryan to leave, and he caught on quickly, winking as he made his way to order more coffee. The air felt charged with tension as you found yourself sitting across from Hugh, whose casual demeanor slowly shifted when he sensed the seriousness of your tone.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked, leaning back, arms crossed, an edge of amusement behind his gaze.
You let out a shaky breath, trying to find the right words to articulate the mess of feelings swirling inside. “I… I’ve been thinking about that night we spent together,” you began, feeling all the warmth drain out of your cheeks. “And how you seem to treat it like—like it’s just a funny story to tell. Meanwhile, I’ve been the one feeling all sorts of things, trying to figure out what it meant.”
His brows knitted together, surprise darting across his face. “You think I treat it like a joke?” His voice lowered, and you could feel a shift in the atmosphere. “I’ve been talking to Ryan about it because, quite frankly, that night with you was more than what I expected.”
You blinked, the words catching you off guard. “What do you mean?”
He leaned forward, his casual demeanor washing away, replaced by a raw sincerity that you hadn’t seen before. “Listen, it was fun and spontaneous. Sure, I may have bragged a bit to Ryan, but it’s because I actually liked it—liked you. I wasn’t expecting to feel a connection like that, even if it was one night. I’ve been thinking about you far more than I anticipated.”
Your heart raced, anger and disappointment gradually subsiding to intrigue as you tried to digest his words. “But how can you say that? You’re Hugh Jackman! You have women throwing themselves at your feet, and I just…” You paused, feeling vulnerable. “I thought you saw me as just a fleeting adventure.”
His expression softened, and he shook his head. “You’re not just a fleeting adventure. You caught my attention in more ways than one, and I’m here hoping we can explore that.”
For a moment, the restaurant faded away, and you could only focus on the honesty etched in his gaze. The air hummed with possibility, and their laughter felt distant, like an echo. “So, what does that mean?” you asked, quietly bracing yourself for his answer.
“It means I’d like to see you again, properly this time. No braggadocio. Just us,” he said, his voice steady and inviting, allowing gentle hope to ripple through the space between you. “But that’s only if you’re willing, of course.”
You took a moment to process it all. There was a genuine sincerity in Hugh’s words that sent both excitement and trepidation coursing through you. He was serious; he truly wanted something more.
After a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity, you found your voice. “I think I’d like that,” you said, heart thumping loudly in your chest. “But I want us to take our time. No rushing, just… getting to know each other.”
A smile spread across Hugh’s face, and in that moment, all the insecurities that had piled up began to dissipate under the warm glow of what could be. “I can do that,” he said, and in that exchange, you felt a sense of relief and liberation wash over you.
As Ryan returned with steaming cups of coffee, his eyes darted between the two of you, practically vibrating with curiosity. You shot him a smile, and his relief echoed yours—this conversation had been long overdue. The future felt bright as the conversation flowed freely, and the tension of the past began to blend into laughter and genuine connection.
The unexpected night had transformed into a new beginning, one filled with promise and the exhilarating anticipation of what was to come.
The flickering candlelight cast gentle shadows on the walls of your favorite little bistro. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening that promised to be both anxiety-inducing and thrilling. You sat at the table, nervously twisting your napkin, a small wave of disbelief rolling over you. Here you were, on a date with Hugh Jackman. Just days ago, the thought of being near him made your stomach churn with a mixture of embarrassment and confusion, but tonight was different. Tonight, there was a chance for something more, something real.
Hugh arrived ten minutes late, as expected. There was a certain charm to his lackadaisical attitude, and any potential annoyance you might have felt quickly melted away when you saw him stride through the door. He wore a fitted blazer over a casual shirt, his hair tousled just enough to give off an effortlessly handsome vibe. The moment his dark eyes met yours, a smile spread across his face, and suddenly, it was as if the world beyond those doors faded away.
“Hey there, stranger,” he said with an easy confidence, pulling out your chair before sinking into his own opposite you. “Apologies for being late. I got sidetracked discovering the lowest rated movie in my collection.”
“Please tell me you didn’t actually watch it,” you replied, trying to maintain a lighthearted tone despite the fluttering nerves in your stomach.
He chuckled, leaning forward slightly, the candlelight illuminating the laughter lines around his eyes. “I couldn’t resist. A curiosity like that tangles with a gift,” he teased, his voice low and cool. “But enough about me—this night is all about you. Tell me what I should know about the real you that I missed in our initial… let’s call it a rendezvous.”
You felt the heat creeping up your cheeks and hesitated. “I’m not sure there’s much to tell. Just your average 35-year-old coping with a midlife existential crisis, wondering when it’s going to stop being so hard to find a decent dating app.”
He laughed again, a deep, warm sound that made your heart race a little faster. “Ah, behold the average woman. If only they knew what a gem they were missing out on.”
The conversation flowed easily from there, drifting through topics of childhood memories, cinematic favorites, and that dreaded question of where you see yourself in five years. With each shared laugh and stolen glance, your embarrassment about your initial encounter began to fade. Under the surface of playful banter was a palpable connection, strong and undeniable.
After dessert—the perfect mix of rich chocolate mousse and a shared slice of cherry pie—you suggested heading back to your place to let Hugh meet your cat, Oliver. He leaned back, a playful spark in his eyes as he raised an eyebrow.
“Your cat? What’s the protocol? Should I come in with a peace offering of tuna or simply wow him with my charm?”
You rolled your eyes, grinning. “A little bit of both wouldn’t hurt.”
As you arrived at your apartment, you were hit by a wave of uncertainty. Would Oliver take kindly to your illustrious guest? The last thing you wanted was for Hugh to feel uncomfortable petting a cat that determined the rules of engagement.
Inside, Oliver, your fluffy ball of mischief and warmth, immediately strutted over to Hugh and inspected him with an air of royal disdain. Hugh knelt down, extending a hand. “Greetings, noble feline. I come in truce and admiration for your majestic reign over this castle.”
Somewhere deep within you, laughter bubbled up, and for a moment, the awkwardness lay forgotten. Hugh scratched beneath Oliver’s chin, and you watched, captivated, as the cat melted under his touch. “He seems to approve,” you said, feeling lightheaded with relief.
As the evening wore on, and the bottle of wine you’d shared began to take effect, you felt a warm flush of confidence wash over you. Hugh, on the other hand, had relaxed into a more vulnerable state. He shared stories from his past—triumphs and failures, moments of joy that shaped him, and doubts that sometimes seeped through his confident facade. It struck you how rare this side of him was, and your attraction grew deeper, fed by a blend of admiration and genuine rapport.
“Can I admit something?” he said after a long pause. His gaze rested on you, earnest and unshielded. “After that night, I wasn’t sure what to think. I found myself intrigued by you in ways I hadn’t anticipated.”
Your heart raced. His honesty disarmed you. “I felt the same way,” you admitted softly. “But I was embarrassed. I thought you saw it as just a fling.”
He shook his head slowly, a half-smile playing on his lips. “When I braggadociously told Ryan about you, I was trying to mask my own surprise at how drawn I am to you. What we shared was undoubtedly intense, but the depth we’ve explored tonight feels even more thrilling.”
There was a weight to his words, and in that charged moment, everything shifted. The distance that had lingered before this night closed in, replaced with an electric tension. You leaned closer, surrendering to the undeniable chemistry cultivated through laughter and shared moments.
And then, without thinking, you reached out, your fingertips brushing against his. It was a mere whisper of a touch, but the air around you crackled with anticipation. He responded by leaning in, his breath soft on your skin, eyes dark and searching for confirmation.
You found yourself in Hugh's embrace once again, the chemistry between you palpable. His lips met yours, a tender exploration that soon turned passionate. As you kissed, you could feel your bodies yearning for each other, the connection between you undeniable.
"May I?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper as his hands found their way to your waist.
You nodded, feeling every heartbeat echo in your ears as he closed the space between you. Your bodies pressed against each other, the heat between you intense.
As you pulled away, breathless, a soft smile graced his lips, revealing the thrill of vulnerability shared. "Why don't we make this a regular thing?" he suggested, his voice now thick with emotion.
You grinned, heart swelling with possibility. "I'd like that. More than you know."
You led him to your bedroom, shedding clothes as you went. Your bodies entwined, hands exploring, mouths tasting. The anticipation built as you kissed and touched each other, the pleasure mounting.
"Fuck, you feel amazing," he groaned as he entered you, your bodies becoming one. You moved together, every thrust sending waves of pleasure coursing through you.
you moaned, your bodies slick with sweat. "Don't stop."
As the night unfolded, every moment felt richer than the last. The sex was intense and passionate, fueled by desire and a deep connection. Every touch, every kiss, every thrust was filled with emotion and meaning.
"Yes, fuck, yes," you cried out as you reached your peak, your body trembling with pleasure. He followed soon after, his body shuddering as he cum inside you.
As you lay in each other's arms, spent and satisfied, you knew that this was the beginning of something special. The unexpected had led to the most beautiful new beginning.

The ‘kitchen’ in the tower is slowly became a shrine of chaotic memories, a snapshot gallery of the team’s most ridiculous, heartfelt, and downright silly moments. The fridge, once sleek and unassuming, was now plastered with photos that had been hastily taped, stuck with magnets, or pinned with bluetac along its surface.
Front and center was the photo of Bob from the fishing trip: standing proud but awkwardly with his kelp bass, John grinning like a maniac at his side, and Bucky standing beside him, in the photo it's clear the Brunette has a sunburn to his skin in the photo. Bob couldn’t help but smile every time he saw it. Not to mention the fish had been amazing after John cooked it up.
There was a shot of Yelena wearing John’s Captain America helmet, striking a dramatic superhero pose while holding a ladle like a weapon
Next to that was a candid photo of John passed out on the couch, a Sharpie penis drawn on the side of his face courtesy of Y/n and Bucky. The two could be seen in the background of the photo, barely holding it together as they tried not to laugh and wake John up.
Next to it, there was another photo of Bob, this time with star stickers covering his face, his expression somewhere between amused and exasperated. Y/n had taken that one.
A photo of John's son out at the park playing in a sandpit with shovels. It had been one Olivia had sent him, they may have been separated but John did like getting photos and he made sure that child care was always paid. The team occasionally sent packages of toys and random stuff for Olivia.
And tucked near the top corner was a grainy photo of Y/n, sprawled on the floor after losing a game of Mario Kart to Yelena. The caption, written in Sharpie across the bottom, read: “Second place is just the first loser.”
Just below that was a photo of Bob sitting in front of a massive stack of pancakes at a diner. The pancakes were practically a mountain.
A tattered old Polaroid of Alexei holding young Yelena and Natasha from back when they were a Family’. It was one Alexei put up himself because it was important to him.

The fridge told a story, a messy, chaotic, beautiful story about a group of people. Each photo was a moment frozen in time, a reminder that even in the middle of missions, fights, and personal struggles, they still found time to laugh, to connect, and to just exist.
Bob found himself standing in front of the fridge more often than he’d like to admit, his fingers brushing over the edges of the photos.
Y/n finally caught Bob. The dirty blonde man had been keeping to himself, busying his hands with little tasks around the tower, avoiding too much interaction. But Y/n wasn’t going to let it slide forever.
He found Bob in the kitchen rummaging through the fridge. Bob didn’t look up when Y/n entered, but Y/n could see the tension in his shoulders, the way his grip on the shredded cheese bag was just a little too tight.
“Bob?” Y/n calls out, he wants to get the man's attention without making him flinch or dart off.
When he looked up, his expression was guarded, but there was a flicker of something else in his eyes, guilt, worry, maybe even shame. “Hey,” Bob said, his voice low.
Y/n offered him a small, tentative smile as he stepped closer, moving slowly, deliberately, not just because he didn’t want to scare Bob, but because his ribs still ached with every step. Each time he moved or stretched too far, he felt them, the soreness.
But he wasn’t here to wallow in his own pain. He was here for Bob.
“Are you and Void alright?” he inquired while moving closer, sitting down at one of the chairs at the bar bench. “I didn’t mean to trigger Void. I don’t know what I did, but… I just want to make sure you’re okay.”
Bob stared at him, his heart twisting painfully in his chest. He couldn’t believe this. Y/n, standing there with bruises he couldn’t even see yet, was worried about him. About Void.
“You’re worried about me?” Bob asked, his voice incredulous. “Y/n, you’re the one who got hurt. I…” His voice trailed off, his throat tightening. “I need to know if you’re okay. What… How much damage did I do?”
Y/n blinked, tilting his head slightly. “You didn’t do anything, Bob,” he said, lying through his teeth.
“Yes, I did,” Bob said, his voice sharper now, tinged with frustration. “ I need to know what I did to you.”
Y/n hesitated, glancing away for a moment before letting out a soft sigh. He knew Bob wouldn’t let it go unless he showed him, and maybe it was better this way. Maybe seeing it would help them both move forward.
Without a word, Y/n reached for the hem of his shirt and lifted it carefully, revealing the bruises that stretched across his torso. One that is very clearly a handprint on his skin.
Bob sucked in a sharp breath, his eyes widening as he took in the sight. The bruises were deep and mottled, shades of black, blue, purple, and yellow swirling together like an angry storm across Y/n’s skin. They spread across his ribs and stomach.
“Oh, fuck,” Bob whispered, his hands gripping his the bag of cheese harder as he stared in horror. “I… I did that.”
“Void didn’t mean to, Bob. He was scared. He was reacting to something I did, something I said, and none of it was your fault.”
Bob shook his head, his jaw tightening as he fought back the wave of guilt threatening to drown him. “I should’ve stopped it,” he said quietly. “I should’ve been stronger, should’ve—”
“Stop,” Y/n interrupted, “I don’t blame you. I don’t blame Void. I get it—I really do. We all have our demons, and sometimes they win.”
Bob looked into Y/n’s eyes, searching for any hint of anger or resentment. “Why don’t you hate me?” Bob asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Because there’s nothing to hate,” Y/n said simply. “You’re a good person, Bob. You care so much, and that’s why this hurts you so much. But you’re not your mistakes. Things happen”
For a long moment, Bob just stood there. “Thanks,” he said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. “For… for not giving up on me. I'm sorry I shut you out. I didn't want to hurt you again”
“Bobby, next time just sit down with me, I know most of your life you have been told off or yelled at over messing up. I'm not going to be mad at you, you're struggling, adjusting and getting used to trying to be a somewhat ‘normal’ person. It's going to take time, adjustments, different meds, other coping mechanisms” Y/n reassured, letting Bob look at the bruises.
Bob’s fingers hovered just above the bruises on Y/n’s torso, his touch hesitant, almost reverent, as though he feared he might cause more harm just by being near him. The bruises were deep, the kind that should have come with cracked ribs or worse. Bob didn’t understand how Void had held back, especially in that state.
But he was thankful. Thankful that it was “only” bruises, though the guilt twisted like a knife in his chest. He knew what he was capable of. He knew it could have been so much worse.
Y/n, ever the one to lighten the mood, chuckled softly. “You should’ve seen the other guy,” he joked, his voice warm despite the soreness he was probably feeling.
Bob managed a weak smile, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “The other guy was me,” he muttered, his voice low. Bob’s fingers finally brushed against one of the less severe bruises, the lightest of touches, before he pulled his hand back like he’d been burned. “Still,” he said, his voice thick with guilt, “I don’t know how you can just… joke about this. About what happened.”
Y/n shrugged slightly, though the motion made him wince. “Because it’s over, it's in the past, i don't mean to sound like an old man but no use crying over spilled milk” he said simply.
His eyes flicker up to meet Y/n’s. “More like cracked ribs” he huffs.
“I’m sorry,” Y/n said after a moment, his voice softer now.
The dirty blonde furrows his brow in confusion. “What?”
“For what I said to Void,” Y/n continued, his gaze steady but filled with regret. “I shouldn’t have told him he was acting like your father. No one deserves to hear that, especially not Void.”
Bob flinched at the mention of his father, the old memories stirring like a storm on the horizon. He remembered the yelling, the belittling, the way his father’s words cut deeper than any blade. And he knew Void remembered, too—because Void had been born from those memories, from that pain.
“It was the only thing that snapped me out of it,” Bob said quietly, though his voice shook.
“Maybe,” Y/n said, his expression softening. “But that doesn’t make it okay. you're not your father, Bobby. not even close. And I hate that I said something like that. But i couldn't see you hate yourself more”
Bob’s chest tightened, the guilt warring with something else, something warmer, something he wasn’t sure he deserved. He looked at Y/n, really looked at him, and for a moment, all he could think about was how close they were. How Y/n’s shirt was still half-raised, his bruised torso exposed, and how, even now, Y/n was more worried about him, the drug addict turned Experiment. than about himself.
Bob swallowed hard, forcing himself to look away. He couldn’t let himself think about how handsome Y/n looked, how his concern and warmth made Bob feel.
“You don’t have to apologize,” Bob said finally, his voice low but steady. “ I've… heard worse. And you weren’t wrong. Void was acting out of fear, but he was acting like… him.” He didn’t say the word. He didn’t have to. They both knew who he meant.
Y/n frowned, his brow furrowing as he studied Bob’s face. “Void isn’t him, Bob,” he said firmly. “And neither are you. You’re not your father. You’re kind, and you care so much about everyone around you. Even Void cares. I saw it in the way he stopped the second I said it. I saw it in the way he gave you back control.”
Bob let out a shaky breath, his hands unclenching as he leaned back slightly. “I don’t know how you can see the good,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Because it’s there,” Y/n said simply. “And I’m not going to let you forget that. Come hell or high water i'll help you through your episodes, slips or spirals. I'll live Bob, Trust me”
His heart is heavy but just a little lighter than before. He still didn’t know if he believed Y/n, but he wanted to. He wanted to believe that he wasn’t his father, that Void wasn’t just a manifestation of everything dark and broken inside him.
“Thank you,” Bob said quietly, his voice thick with emotion.
---
The hot water cascaded over Bob’s body, scalding against his skin, but he barely noticed. His eyes were closed, his head tilted forward, and his hands braced against the tiles of the shower wall. The sound of the water drowned out the world around him, but inside his mind, there was no escape.
He could still see it, feel it.
The memory of Y/N’s bruises lingered in his mind like a brand. The dark, angry marks that wrapped around Y/N’s throat and spread down his chest. The purples, blues, and yellows that marred his torso where Void had thrown him across the room. The guilt had been instantaneous, crushing, suffocating.
Bob had wanted to throw up when he’d first seen the damage. It wasn’t the first time Void had hurt someone, but this? This was different from making shadows. This was Y/N with physical injuries left.
And then there was the part that made Bob hate himself even more.
The part that had nothing to do with guilt and everything to do with the memory of his hands brushing over Y/N’s bruised skin.
He hadn’t meant to touch him. Not like that. He’d just wanted to see how bad it was, to make sure Y/N wasn’t hiding worse injuries beneath his shirt. But the moment his fingers had made contact, something had shifted.
The heat of Y/N’s skin. The rough feel of the bruises beneath his fingertips. The way Y/N hadn’t flinched, hadn’t pulled away, had just let him touch, move his fingers over the patches.
Bob’s stomach twisted as the memory replayed itself again and again in his mind. He hated it. Hated how vivid it still was. Hated how it made his chest tighten and his breaths come faster. Hated the way his body reacted against his will every time he thought about it.
“What the fuck is wrong with me?” He groans out, dropping his head back against the tiles with a thunk, his hands curled into fists against them, his nails digging into his palms as the water poured over him. He could feel the heat creeping up the back of his neck, down his spine, pooling low in his stomach. It made him sick.
He wasn’t supposed to think about Y/N like this. Not when Y/N had been hurt. His fault that those bruises were there in the first place.  But no matter how hard Bob tried to push the thoughts away, they kept coming back.
The way Y/N’s shirt had ridden up, exposing the bruises along his ribs. The way his voice had been soft, almost teasing, when he’d said, “I’ll live, Bob. Trust me.” The way Y/N had looked at him with those steady, understanding eyes, like he didn’t blame Bob for any of it. Bob slammed his fist against the tile, the sharp sound echoing in the small bathroom, leaving a shattered dint.

The guilt and shame swirled inside him, mixing with the heat and the confusion until he felt like he was going to explode. He pressed his forehead against the cool tiles, his wet hair sticking to his face as he tried to calm his racing thoughts.
“Get it together,” he muttered under his breath, his voice trembling.  But he couldn’t get it together. He couldn’t stop thinking about Y/N, about his bruised skin, his quiet strength, his goddamn calmness even in the face of Void’s violence.
The water kept pouring over him, scalding and relentless, but it wasn’t enough to drown out the thoughts. It wasn’t enough to wash away the shame. His body trembling, his mind spinning in circles, his breathing was uneven, shallow, as his thoughts spiraled out of control.
His mind drifted further, unbidden, to that night he’d stayed at Y/N’s place. The way Y/N had looked so relaxed, so at ease in his own space. His shirtless chest without a care in the world for Bob seeing his scars, the way his sleep pants hung low on his hips, revealing just enough to make Bob’s mouth go dry. The way Y/N had moved, casual but confident, not caring how much of himself he showed. That image had burned itself into Bob’s brain, and now it was all he could think about.
Bob’s hand trailed down his body, his fingers brushing over his stomach before wrapping around his half hard cock. He hated himself for how worked up he was, but the ache in his body wouldn’t go away. His grip tightened as he slowly began to stroke, his head tilting back into the water stream.
The way Y/N’s voice had sounded when he’d said, “Make yourself at home,” like it was the easiest thing in the world to let Bob into his space.
Bob’s pace quickened, his breaths coming faster as he bites down on the part of his thumb and palm to keep himself quiet as he imagined Y/N standing in front of him now, shirtless, his steady eyes locking with Bob’s. He could almost feel those hands on his skin, guiding him, grounding him, making him feel safe in a way he hadn’t felt in years.
It had been so long since Bob had felt anything like this. Back when he’d been using, when he’d let his dealer fuck him just to fund his addiction. Those nights had been messy, desperate, transactional. Nothing like what he felt now.
Bob’s grip tightened, his strokes becoming more erratic as his thoughts spiraled further. He imagined Y/N’s body pressed close, beneath him, his body spread out and waiting. He could almost hear the way Y/N would moan his name, the way his voice would break as he praised Bob for how good he was making him feel. He could see Y/N’s face, flushed and desperate, his hands gripping Bob’s hips as Bob pushed into him, taking him completely.
Or maybe it would be the other way around. Maybe Y/N would push him down, press Bob’s face into the mattress, and bury himself inside him. Bob’s stomach flipped at the thought of Y/N whispering filthy promises in his ear, his hands firm but careful, his strap-on hitting just the right spot while he told Bob how good he was, how perfect he was.
The images were vivid, overwhelming, and Bob didn’t even have it in him to feel guilty about it. He was too pent up, too far gone.
Void, however, wasn’t about to let him enjoy it without comment.
“You’re a fucking pervert, you know that?”
Void sneered.
Bob huffed out a breath, his lips twitching into a faint, humorless smile. “Yeah,” he muttered, his voice low and rough. “I know.”
Void didn’t stop, of course. He never did.
“Can’t even take a shower without thinking about him, huh? About getting your hands all over him? You’re pathetic.”
Bob didn’t have the energy to care. He pressed his forehead back against the tiles, the water streaming down his face as his mind continued to spiral.
Void’s snarl was immediate.
“ You’re desperate.. jerking off to the thought of him fucking you, and you don’t even have the balls to admit it to his face.”
"I'll Admit"
Void said after a moment, his tone shifting again, almost smug now.
“I did enjoy the way he sounded when I tossed him off the bed. The way he gasped, the way his voice broke. That was… satisfying.”
Bob’s stomach twisted at Void’s words, a mix of anger and something he didn’t want to name. “Fuck you,” Bob muttered, his voice low and sharp.
“You’re already fucking yourself, Bob,”
Void shot back.
“And all you can think about is him.”
Bob clenched his jaw, his hands gripping the edges of the shower wall as the water continued to pour over him. He didn’t respond to Void this time, and didn't give him the satisfaction. Instead, he let his mind drift back to Y/N, the way he’d looked, to the way he’d made Bob feel.
Void could snark all he wanted. It didn’t change the fact that Bob wanted Y/N. soft gasps and moans spilling from his lips as he clung to Bob, nails digging into his shoulders. He could almost hear Y/N’s voice, breathless and needy, calling him ‘Bobby’ in that teasing, familiar way that made Bob’s stomach flip every time.
He pictured Y/N’s chest, the faint scars that crossed his skin, and the way he might look if Bob touched them. If Bob ran his hands over them slowly, tracing every line as Y/N shivered. He wouldn’t flinch, Bob was sure of that. He’d let Bob touch, let him explore, let him kiss every inch of his chest until Bob’s mouth found its way lower.
Bob’s breath hitched as his hand moved quicker matching the rhythm of the fantasy in his head. Bob’s pace quickened, his jaw tightening as the images filled his mind. The way Y/N would look, the way he’d sound. Bob could almost feel him, could almost hear the way Y/N would whisper, “Please, Bobby, don’t stop,” or “that's it nice and easy just breath”.
The thought pushed Bob over the edge, his release hitting him like a wave, his body tensing as he groaned softly, his forehead pressing against the tiles. The water washed away the evidence quickly, but it didn’t wash away the heat that lingered in his chest or the guilt that followed close behind.
Void was still there, his presence smug and lingering.
“I’ll give you this much, at least you’re honest about what you want. Even if it’s never going to happen.”
Bob exhaled shakily, his hands dropping to his sides. He didn’t respond to Void. He didn’t have the energy. And no matter how much Void mocked him, no matter how much guilt gnawed at the edges of his thoughts, Bob knew one thing for certain Y/n had fucked up the chemistry in his brain.

Brock Reynolds Imagine
Tumblr media
summary: brock meets his match
warnings: none! cuteness!
sry im on a seal team kick rn and this man needs to get more written about him!!!!!
"Cerberus!" Brock called out as his normally well behaved partner perked up and darted off in the training facility the duo were at. Brock wasn't worried about the dog getting away, as they were enclosed and also surrounded by other K-9's and their handlers. But he was concerned about what had triggered his companion.
"Cerberus, stopp," Brock barked as he ran after the malanois who was loping towards another duo training together at the other side of the facility. Brock's alarm peaked as Cerb's pace picked up. "Heads up!"
Brock watched as the other handler turned his way, saw the projectile coming her way, and immediately took a non threatening stance, even as her partner crouched low in front of her. Brock tried to call Cerb in one more time, before the dog pulled to an abrupt hault in front of the two.
Brock slowed down as well as the got closer, watching as the other dog took a look at Cerb, considered him for a moment before giving his version of a dog smile. The other handler laughed as her dog looked back at her, now seated, clearly wanting to be released to play.
"You mind?" She asked Brock as he walked up, the man shaking his head and watching in intrigue as she released her dog in German and the two dogs immediately began to wrestle happily.
"I'm sorry, he's never done that before," Brock shook his head as he approached her.
"That's ok," the woman offered him a calm smile. "Lincoln is able to handle himself, they would've figure it out."
Brock nodded before reaching out his hand. "Brock Reynolds, this is Cerberus," the two looked at their partners who were now looking at their handlers with innocent eyes.
"Maya," the blonde smiled, taking his hand. "This is Lincoln."
"Are you with the forces?" Brock asked as he looked at Lincoln's vest, trying to find an identifier.
"No, we're with the FBI," Maya nodded at the badge on her hip. "My mentor is an ex-seal, and brought us here early on to train, and the guys let us keep coming."
"I'm sure they do," Brock said without thinking, ignoring the slip of the tongue.
"Can I guess who you're with?" Maya asked with a teasing smile. "It's one of my favorite games."
"Go on, I'll bite," Brock smirked as he pulled a ball from his pocket now that the dogs were both unengaged, throwing it for them.
"Ok, facial hair and not a lick of straight laced, so not army," she mused, tilting her head. "Not quite getting the cockiness of the air force, so I'm going to say Navy."
Brock just tilted his head.
"That's a yes," she grinned. "Now then, you're giving quiet and mysterious. I've seen you in here before, there is an air of mystery around you. So with that, and the training, I'm going to guess, special teams?"
"I can neither confirm nor deny," he clicked his tongue at Cerb who came trotting over. "You guys want to do some drills together?"
After that day, Brock and Maya took the dogs to an outdoor brewery, and ended up together until long after the moon had come up. The two had gone their seperate ways, but not for long, managing to spend enough time together that by the time Brock went on his next deployment, he was getting extra care packages.
"Oh lookie here," Sonny yelled into the group of bravo members as he came from the mail call. "Brocky boy has a big ole package today!"
The boys all wolf whistled as Brock rolled his eyes, catching the package Sonny threw and recognizing Maya's writing on the top. He pried it open with a soft smile as he immediatley saw the amount of dog treats inside.
Linc tried these and loved them, give Cerb a hug a sticky note said on a tub of beef chews. Brock grinned as he pulled out two kong toys, another pack of treats, and a deshedding brush before getting to the human goods. There was two containers of cookies, a new book in the series Maya had gotten Brock hooked on, and an envelope of photos ranging from selfies of Maya and Lincoln, to pictures of the fall foliage in VA Beach, and other bits and bobs.
The Bravo guys watched their teammate suspiciously as he went through his goods, wondering what was going on. "Ok spill," Clay prodded as Cerb came over to sniff the new toys for him.
"What?" Brock looked innocent.
"Who's sending you love packages?" Jason laughed.
"No one," he shrugged, ignoring Trent's evil smirk.
"Her name is Maya," his best friend said proudly, all the guys shouting in success. "She's with the FBI's K9 group, bad ass and so out of his league."
"Out of my league?" Brock gasped in advance as Ray laughed, clapping his shoulder.
"The best ones always are," the other man smiled and shook his head as Brock prepared for the ribbing.
Weeks later, the team finally made their way back home, weary and tired, and ready for some rest. Most of them were ready to see their families, and kids, while others were just looking forward to a real bed.
Brock focused on Cerb as he walked off the aircraft, adjusting his leash as he heard the other guys families begin to sound off about seeing their service members after so long away. Brock instantly keyed in though when he heard a bark, jerking his head up to see the blissful sight of Maya and Lincoln standing on the tarmac waiting for them.
Brock's grin was wide as he dropped Cerb's leash, letting the dog go greet Lincoln while he only had eyes for Maya. The blonde was in jeans and a sweater, her hands clasped as she watched him approach at a clip. At that point, Brock said 'fuck it', jogging toward her and leaning down to scoop her into his arms and spin her around.
Maya's arms were a vice around his shoulder, her head burying in her neck as he felt her heart beat flutter against his chest. He let her down slowly, letting his hands come up to cup her cheeks and pull her lips to his in a rough kiss. Her hands grasped his collar, holding him place for an indecently long kiss that was only interrupted by paws landing on Maya's side.
The couple split apart with a grin, looking at a panting Cerb who was waiting for his greeting. Lincoln was looking similarly at Brock. The two gave the dogs some attention before Brock turned back to her and pulled her into his side, kissing her head.
"Missed you frog man," she murmured as she kissed his cheek before turning to see where the rest of Bravo team was eyeing them, ready to pounce.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 11 "AQD"
Tumblr media
The team is investigating the murder of an Alderman who was against environmental policies. He was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Dawson and Nagel are having trouble finding witnesses to the crime. Valdez discovers that the driver was a mother who was frantically trying to find her kidnapped daughter, but later finds out it was a scam. During the investigation, Dawson runs into Sylvie Brett and thinks about their former relationship.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
The episode starts with a meeting in Alderman Christopher Jones' office. A delivery man enters, and after Chris signs for the package, he pours oil all over the desk. However, He is stopped before he can light the oil on fire. He shouts that Chris is sending poison into their neighbourhoods and killing their children. The man is then dragged out of the building through the back. Chris left the office, stating that he needed some fresh air. However, as he crossed the street, a truck hit him, throwing him onto another parked vehicle.
During a conversation with Antonio Dawson, a witness confirms that the driver did not swerve to avoid the victim and did not stop after the accident. The witness provides the last three digits of the license plate and mentions that the car had special lettering on the side. Sylvie Brett from Chicago Fire infoms Antonio that the hit and run victim did not survive and hands him the report. Laura Nagel joins Antonio, but they do not have much information to share. Nagel is surprised to learn that the victim is Alderman Christopher Jones.
During the interrogation, Nagel and Antonio question the delivery man, Jim Sprague, who is angry about Christopher Jones' actions. He believes that the city's transportation department is destroying the city with their "bomb trains". Sprague reveals that the oil was only symbolic and was made of prune juice and soap. Antonio suggests that Sprague wanted to "cut off the head of the snake" by targeting Chris, who was the face of the issue on TV. When Sprague responds with "something like that", Antonio interprets it as a confession. Nagel implies that he murdered Alderman Jones. Jim is shocked and says that he would never kill someone.
Bobby visits Mark Jefferies and reveals all the other antics citizens have done in protest of the Department of Transportation. Bobby states that there is no chance this death was an accident and claims that they are not environmentalists but anarchists. He demands that Jefferies make an example of these people and then leaves.
Tumblr media
Jefferies meets with Peter Stone, who reveals that Antonio and Laura are at the environmental group Jim Sprague created. They only have partial specialty plates and are checking traffic cameras in the area.
At the group's headquarters, Antonio and Laura talk to someone who shares that there is nothing wrong with them making a political statement. He says they are opposed to the oil trains, just like they are opposed to killing people. He hands them a pamphlet. The pamphlet explains how they can show their opposition by writing or speaking to their Alderman. He also tells them that they are free to speak to his people.
Nagel returns to the office and discovers a potential match for the license plate digits. They visit Mrs. St. James, who informs them that she rents out her vehicle. She reveals that Jane Reynolds rented the car early that morning. Antonio requests that she track the car, and she demonstrates how she monitors it. Antonio takes her tablet, promising to take care of it, while they leave to locate the car.
Tumblr media
Nagel and Dawson found the vehicle parked alongside train tracks. When they opened the door, they found two young teens smoking inside. The vehicle was damaged, and both teens were very high. The teens insisted that they were the wrong suspects as they did not kill anyone.
Antonio confirms that Jane synced her phone to the vehicle's bluetooth and finds her cell phone number. They find Jane sitting in a park. When they arrest her, she begs them not to touch the bag full of money, saying, "They have my daughter!"
In the interrogation room, Jane says that hitting the Alderman was an accident, as he came out of nowhere. She says the man told her that if she stopped, she would never see her daughter again. The woman's daughter was scheduled to visit the museum with her classmates. However, she received a call from a man who claimed that her phone had been hacked and that she was being monitored. The man threatened that if she hung up or sent a text, she would never see her daughter, Emma, again. Antonio was surprised that the men only demanded 8,000.
Stone asks if anyone believes her story. Nagel questions why the kidnappers would care about the source of the money. Anna Valdez wonders why they insisted on her renting a car when she owns a brand new Mercedes. The call she received is also a dead end since it came from a burner phone. Stone asks if it is possible this was an accident once they check her history, but Antonio said she didn't stop. Laura suggests she may have panicked. Stone instructs Laura and Antonio to inform Jane's ex-husband about their missing daughter.
He is shocked to learn that Emma is missing, but Antonio assures him that the FBI is working on locating her. Antonio requests that he return with them so they can question him further.
Captain Reynolds expressed surprise that his ex-partner did not call the police immediately when their daughter, Emma, went missing. Jane emphasised the urgency of finding Emma and disregarded any discussion about her ex-husband. Although both parents have a strained relationship, Reynolds acknowledged that Jane is an excellent mother. He also mentioned that he is working four jobs to support them.
Tumblr media
After separate interrogations, Antonio and Laura left their rooms, and Anna arrived with Emma, who had been on a class trip the entire time.
Anna and Stone walk with Jefferies. Jefferies learns that Emma was only virtually kidnapped. He says, unfortunately, the funeral he needs to attend is very real. Anna says there are two victims here, but Jefferies doesn't want to hear it. He says that if someone took his grandchild, he would call the FBI, and if he ran down someone on the way, he would call the cops. Jane is being accused of reckless homicide and leaving the scene. Anna argues that each person should only be punished for the harm they caused, citing AQD (ad quod damnum). Jefferies, who also went to law school, disagrees and points out that the woman ran down an Alderman, which is a significant harm.
Tumblr media
Jefferies lacks sympathy and instructs them to charge the mother, but then retracts his statement and says that if they catch and convict the person who called her, he may consider offering probation.
Antonio and Laura return to Jane's room and ask who knew about Emma's field trip. Jane discloses that someone called her house first and that there may be a recording of the call. Nagel asked why Jane didn't contact the police after receiving the first call. Antonio explained that when his son was taken, he couldn't think straight and all that mattered was getting his child back. As they played the message back, Antonio questioned why Darth Vader would need 8 grand.
The lab technician reveals that the caller used an app to scramble their voice. The technician fixed it for them to hear, and as they listen, they realize the voice belongs to Captain Reynolds. Stone and Anna are quickly informed, and Anna explains that what he did amounts to intimidation, which is a Class 3 felony. This means he won't face more than a year in prison. Antonio is furious.
Tumblr media
Stone instructs them to arrest him and charge him with the death of Christopher Jones. Jones was killed during the commission of a felony, and Stone argues that his actions constituted felony kidnapping. Anna disputes this, stating that Emma was not physically kidnapped, but rather subjected to virtual kidnapping. Stone responds by pointing out that the statute does not make a distinction between physical and virtual kidnapping.
When the authorities arrived to arrest Captain Reynolds, he was having dinner with Emma. He tried to close the door on them, but Nagel pushed it open and gave him two options: either he could come with tem quietly and let the social worker sit with Emma, or his 10-year-old daughter could watch them drag him out kicking and screaming. He chose to leave quietly with them.
Meanwhile, at the bar, Anna and Stone were discussing marriage and divorce over dinner. Upon arrival, Holly Washington introduced herself as Ted Reynolds' public defender. She handed over a motion to dismiss, stating that she did not want to disturb them and that she was not there to make a deal. She found the charge of felony murder amusing.
In court the following day, Stone had to explain how a virtual kidnapping could lead to a murder charge. Holly argued that intimidation was not sufficient to trigger the felony murder rule, but Stone countered that any felony involving a threat of physical force would trigger the rule. The judge denied their motion to dismiss.
Back at the office, Jefferies was unimpressed with Stone's victory, stating that he was bootstrapping the law.
Tumblr media
In court, Stone's lab technician revealed how they identified the scrambled voice on the tape. However, Holly raised concerns that the technician may have altered the voice too much, making it unrecognizable. She requested that the technician replay the tape where the voice threatens Jane, but he admitted that there was no actual threat on the recording.
Jane takes the stand. However, she contradicts the tapes that the court has already heard. She says that the caller mentioned her daughter's name on her cell phone. This implied that he would cut Emma's throat if she didn't comply with his demands of renting a car and withdrawing money at various banks and ATMs. She claims to have been on the phone with him the entire time, driving as fast as she could. she accidentally hit Alderman Jones but was unable to call the police or stop because the caller threatened to kill Emma if she did.
Holly gets Jane to confess that she and Ted argued during their marriage and produces the divorce papers. Jane committed perjury twice about her husband threatening her, but these claims were later dismissed. Holly confronts Emma about being the only one who heard her husband allegedly making those threats. Jane was driving like a maniac and Holly questions whether he really threatened to hurt Emma.
The jury deliberated for four days, but they were unable to reach a verdict, and the judge declared a mistrial. Stone informed Holly and Ted that he would file for a retrial, despite Jefferies' objections.
Anna explained to Antonio and Laura that the mistrial occurred because Ted did not threaten her in the recordings. Jefferies recommended charging Jane with reckless homicide and leaving the scene. Antonio is shocked. Stone is okay with that. However, unless Ted confesses, they have nothing. Nagel suggests talking to Emma.
During the meeting, Emma confides in Laura that she was frightened by her parents' arguments, even though her father never hit her mother because he loves her.
Meanwhile, Stone tells Antonio that childrend tend to see what they want to see when it comes to painting pictures. Antonio shares a story about his ex. He says that somewhere deep inside, he always thinks about whether his wife will ever come back to him. He explains that this is something that happens when you share a child together. Stone pauses.
Anna and Stone meet with Ted and Jane with their attorneys. Jane's attorney presents them with a deal for a 5-year prison sentence. Ted agrees to the deal, but Jane calls him a bastard, questioning what kind of father pretends to kidnap his own daughter. Despite Ted's desire for full custody, Jane refuses to take the deal. Stone stands up and says that it's fine with him, and Antonio handcuffs Jane as Ted watches quietly.
Tumblr media
As they escort Jane out, Ted confesses everything in front of Stone, Anna, and Antonio. Jane is released, and Ted is arrested by Antonio. Stone offers Jane one year of probation. Jefferies finds it bizarre that Ted hates Jane but is willing to go to prison for 20 years for her.

The region's rapid urbanization, expanding food service industry, and growing middle class are key contributors to this dominance. China remains both the largest producer and consumer, though Southeast Asian nations are showing particularly strong growth rates.
North America and Europe maintain significant market shares, driven by established food processing industries and stringent packaging regulations. The Middle East has emerged as a notable growth region, with its expanding hospitality sector creating new demand. Meanwhile, Latin America and Africa present untapped potential, though infrastructure limitations currently restrain more rapid adoption.
Key Market Drivers and Opportunities
The market is primarily propelled by the global expansion of food service industries, increasing demand for convenient food packaging solutions, and growing awareness of food safety standards. The foodservice sector accounts for approximately 48% of global demand, with household applications representing 35% and industrial uses making up the remainder.
