thinking about the infantiliztation and/or formalization of 19th-century women's clothing to modern audiences
like
our entire reference point for "wearing long skirts and outfits with decoration like lace, embroidery, appliques, etc." is either formalwear or fictional characters in children's media like Disney princesses. women's clothing is just so radically different now- not that those elements don't exist, but they're much less common in everyday clothing than they once were. some form of simple trousers and an equally simple top are de rigeur for everyday attire, and anything else is Fancy
combined with the fact- which is true! -that a lot of what survives to end up in big museums belonged to wealthy people, this ends up in wild assumptions like "basically our entire idea of what the Victorians dressed like is just Rich People Clothes really"
which has led to the eternal cry of "but what did NORMAL people wear?!?!?!" that will not be satisfied with real examples of middle or even working-class everyday clothing because it still looks too "fancy" to modern eyes
not Victorian, but a great example of this is what Abby Cox wore to portray a milliner (hatmaker) in Colonial Williamsburg. a working, middle-class woman:
(ignore the facial expression there)
this is the exact outfit she sported in a video that apparently got responses like "but that's just what rich women wore!" and it is, in fact, everyday attire for a working person. a person who worked in the fashion industry, it's true, but still
I had someone ask me about how to find examples of casual Victorian clothing because they were at their wits' end trying to research it. and I had to tell them that...what they were looking at WAS casual. in the sense of Clothing For Everyday Wear That's Not Especially Formal. there's nothing inherently formal, or exclusive to the wealthy, about a matched bodice-and-skirt dress, instep-length, with some trim. or even a trimmed blouse and skirt. obviously women working the absolute hardest outdoor, physical jobs might have adopted occupational trousers or similar, but we don't all dress like construction or farm workers all the time nowadays. why would they have back then?
Laundresses, probably 1850s or early 60s. Note that I can STILL date the picture based on their outfits and hair, and these are the furthest things from wealthy socialites.
Maid scrubbing steps, probably 1870s or 1880s. Note pleated trim on her skirt and what appears to be a peplum at the back of her bodice.
also, not all working women worked physical jobs any more than we do today. here is a teacher around the turn of the 20th century:
Teachers, 1887
"Breton Seamstresses," 1845, by Jules Trayer
were there differences in quality, type and quantity of trim, fit, etc? obviously. but some people are convinced that the basic outfit format can't POSSIBLY have been something ordinary women wore, because it looks formal and/or princess-y in a modern context

camboy! | c.yj.
[ 🎥 ] — after yeonjun's rise in the porn industry, an interview was something he agreed to for fun. however, after he saw you, the interviewer, he wished it was a fake interview where he gets to fuck you.
cw : pornstar!yeonjun. unedited word vomit fictional magazine company that apparently also exists in real life.
a/n ; i apologize for my sins i swear I'll change 🙏🏼 and this is a drabble, not a fic! i might turn it into one over time ♡
after you reached out to him a few weeks ago with greetings and compliments, and asking can I interview you some time? I'd like to know what it's like to be a person who earns through the adult industry, and with your fame, I know that you're just the right person., his first, honest reaction was to laugh. i mean, seriously?
he was laughing at the irony of the fact that he was being interviewed. i mean, who was willing enough to take out time of their busy, hectic schedule to interview a man who earns bread by having a dildo inside of him? he had to know. he wanted to know what this person was like.
he did think that this could be completely false and you could be a potential threat, trying to lure him into your little cage with cheese like he's a fucking rat, capture him and do bad things to him like he'd heard with various nefarious acts of people against people with 'easy' fame.
"can I get proof that you're actually an interviewer?"
to which he immediately got a response with a photo of a xerox copy of your identification document, namely at a popular company called mode de vie. he could see the black and white ink that framed the photo stuck on the top right corner, and he knew that he had to see that fucking face in real life. if that's how you look in a awfully captured picture, so captivating, bold, and confidence outlining your eyes in the form of sharp eyeliner, he had to see that face in front of him, asking him questions about his body count or something else he doesn't give two shits about.
he'd said sure to your offer almost immediately now that he saw that it was a real interviewer after him. and now that it was time, he drove to the place where you both agreed to be at — a café which was relatively close to his house and your office.
"I'm glad you came!" you said as you shook his hand that would eventually get sweaty from just sitting opposite to you. what the fuck? he seriously considered telling you to quit this stupid, serious job and just join him in his public sex life. you were stunning.
now that he saw your hair open, framing your face, and that fucking sharp-ass eyeliner, he was mad that he didn't dress up nicely and instead came in a hoodie. who wants to miss a chance of getting a baddie?
he thanked the lords he'd long forgotten when you told him this is just an audio based interview which will later be turned into a text format.
while you continued asking him questions about everything, from "fuck-a-fan" to "how did your mother find out?", he'd needed to ask you to repeat your questions several times. his eyes kept drifting down, down to your chest.
'why the fuck are you wearing a top so low-cut? is it to provoke me or something?' he'd think. he legitimately wants to put his hand on the table, pushing himself towards you and grabbing one of your tits. it's pissing him off he can't.
okay, so maybe he was a pervert like one of his friends liked to say. but it wasn't his fault when you were asking him questions about his sex life while looking at him with those eyes that were possibly tearing his clothes off.
in his world, that is.
'do you want to fuck me too, or am I trippin'?'
he knew he had to keep his filthy hands, his filthy thoughts, to himself. c'mon, it's a fucking interview, yeonjun. grow up. you've had plenty of girls and guys to fuck in your life. from small and petite, to taller than you. from fucking someone to getting fucked. you've done it all. why are you so captivated by this woman?
maybe it was the way you had your makeup done that had him wishing he could see it smeared all over with a new makeup product; his cum, or maybe it was your tits that were practically begging to be the thing he shoves his face in tonight. but no, it was the way you carried yourself.
there was this... this aura, this radiation of confidence that was magnetic enough for him to be pulled to you.
under the table, he was practically going to rub one out. he kept adjusting his pants, kept palming his dick that was straining against his pants and standing up against his thoughts of not fucking you ever.
ugh, just how fucking good you'd look on his bed, and he swears he could go above his rounds per fucking streak of 4 with you; from classic missionary to the amazon position, from sixty-nine to his foot on your face while he fucked your ass from the back. fuck, he'd even let you peg him, something he's always refused to do.
just how good you'd look while sliding your strap-on inside of him, his eyes going wide, as well as your smile at the sight of his pretty face. he thinks you'd like some crazy songs playing in the background, similar to the vibe of playboi carti.
fuck, he'd hold onto your tits for support, comfort, for just the fucks of it no matter who is topping.
"um, excuse me?" you asked when he spaced out in the middle.
"yeah?" he said, looking up from the table where both of your milkshakes resided.
"thank you for the interview. i appreciate it a lot!" you said, smiling at him, completely unaware of the junk he had in his brain about you. you put out your hand for a friendly yet professional handshake.
"oh, yeah, of course." he muttered out, responding to your hand with his that was definitely sweaty.
as you closed your notepad and stopped the recording, he looked up at your face finally.
"can I ask you a question too?"
"oh, yes, of course." you said, looking up at him with a face of genuine curiosity. maybe it would be something like —
"when will this be posted?"
"where can I read it?"
"will there be a hardcopy?"
"would you ever fuck me if you could?"
and suddenly, this was the first time you regretted not recording the aftermath of an interview.

10:00 PM
"Baby?" You called out into the apartment that you and Armando shared. You had been in bed, scrolling on your phone, while Armando was in the living room aimlessly clicking through Netflix. Getting out of bed, and making your way to the living room, you hear a faint "Hm?" from your boyfriend's lips as you make your way over to the couch to straddle his lap. As soon as you settled on his lap, he kissed you hello, put down the remote and moved his hands down to your lower back, caressing you gently before you asked him your question. "I saw this challenge on TikTok, I wanna try." You spoke softly, before continuing on. "We have to look into each other's eyes, and whoever looks away or kisses the other first, loses." Armando let out a chuckle before speaking. His hands migrated from your back to your thighs, still caressing them lightly.
"¿Estás segura de eso mamá? You know you fold under pressure." His sleepy voice rang through your ears, to which you chucked lightly. "I'm sure, we'll see who folds first." You teased, knowing damn well that he would win. "¿Estás lista?" He spoke in that condescending tone, knowing his effect on you and how easily he could make you flustered. "Mhm," you hummed in response, looking into his eyes determined to prove him wrong. The way he stared so intently at you was like he was staring through your soul. It made you feel like you were naked, even though you were fully clothed. His hands wandered from your thighs, up to your lower back, while his right hand softly caressed your ass. Your arms were around his neck as you straddled him on the couch, trying your best not to look away, even though he was making you feel so hot. The way he stared up at you, and licked his lips made you want to give in. Give in to his touch and just let him have his way with you, but that’s what he wanted. And still, you were determined to be unpredictable and prove his cocky ass wrong.
“¿Sabes, te ves tan hermosa bebé?” He spoke in that deep, gruff voice of his that was like music to your ears. His words made you flustered, causing you to look away to the side and hide your face giggling. To which he chuckled as well, seeing you get all shy on him. His left hand gently grabbed your jaw to force you to look at him again. “Te dije.” He spoke, with that cocky voice and a proud grin, knowing that he still makes you nervous. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Your eyes rolled, causing him to chuckle. “Come here,” He pulled you in softly and kissed you slow, his hands wandering your body as your hands went to play in his hair. “Te amo.” He muttered into the kiss as you smiled against his lips before pulling away. “I love you too.”
GLOSSARY !
¿Estás segura de eso mamá? - You sure about that mama?
¿Estás lista? - are you ready?
¿Sabes, te ves tan hermosa bebé? — Do you know, you look so beautiful baby?
Te dije - I told you.

━━━━━━━━━━
The sound of the copper plated bullet whizzed past his ear as it pierced into the girls carotid artery. Going 100mph, the tiny metal shrapnel shot through her, being so small yet so dangerous.
She fell limp into his arms as the bullet punctured her neck, cutting off a blood supply to her brain. Gasping for air, you twitched in his arms frantically as Armando laid you down trying to apply pressure onto the hole, with no luck. “Cálmate, por favor.” The male mumbled as he tried to help you. Sliding your hand up his shoulder, you gripped onto Armando’s royal blue shirt in an attempt for you to hold onto your consciousness for a little while longer. Not being long before you would eventually bleed out.
“Get some fucking help!!”
Blood seeped into the cracks of the wooden floor, staining not only the brown tiles but the latino’s hand, painting it fully red. Your eyes continuously blinked as you fought hard for your life, feeling it slowly slip away from you. Losing the will to live, your eyes slowly start to descend as you alleviate your grip on your lover. “No, no. Quédate conmigo.”
Tiny noises heave out of the brown skinned girl who laid in his arms, slowly tapping his hand with her nail before her head fell down limp. Crimson yet thick, blood still continued to flow out of her neck, it being more of a visible red due to the oxygenation that occurs when flowing around the body. Her deep brown hair mixing with the metallic smell of the substance seeping out from underneath her. The colour from her beautiful deep skin slowly started to disappear from her, becoming practically mummified.
In disbelief, the male slowly shook his dead lover in hopes of this just being a dream. “Baby?”
No response.
“Son..” A hand was placed on Armando’s shoulder to which he violently shrugged off.
“¡ Quítate de encima!”
Placing his lovers body slowly down on the floor, he stood up. Tears cascaded down the males face as his eyes were a bloodshot red due to the extremity of his sobbing. Glancing around the room, faces of pity just stared at him, “No me compadezcas.”
The loud strobe of lights from the ambulance came shining onto the group, the sirens blaring as they quickly pulled up and ran over to the group.
“Where is she?”
A scoff was heard amongst the group as a muscular physique arose from the crowd, strolling over to the leading paramedic. “You’re too late. She’s fucking gone.”
“Armando..”
Mike’s calls fell on deaf ears as Armando continued to press the paramedic, practically screaming in their face due to how long they took to get here. “This is your fault!”
“It went through her main artery, she wouldn’t of-“
“No me importa!”
Unable to hold in his rage longer, the taller male pushed the paramedic forcefully causing him to fall down. Standing over him Armando looked down, which then caused warnings signs for the rest of the team who quickly ran over to him so they could hold him back. “Armando. Calm down!”
Flipping his head towards Dorn, the tall blonde who spoke them words, Armando walked up to him and intensely stared. His eyes piercing through Dorn’s soul. His chocolate brown orbs now full of hurt and pain, causing him to go back to how he was before. Before finding love. The ruthless, reckless and cunning man he was. The man who couldn’t love, let alone care of other people. The assassin who took any life who was in front of him.
That was who he was.
His mother was right.
Santa Muerte was right.
“Calmarse? Está bien.” Putting his hands up, he walked backwards.
Everyone exchanged confused glances as Armando’s demeanour suddenly switched. Watching him walk over to his blacked out motorbike, he put his helmet over his head before flipping the screen closed. Revving the engine, Armando zoomed off into the night. Leaving his team there at the bar, anxious.
And not only that.
Leaving the person who changed him for the better, who he loved, behind too.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐀 𝐖𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃.
It was currently 2 in the morning. The rain was currently attacking Armando’s modern windows, the tiny teardrops forming bullets as they attempted to penetrate the double glazed window below. Thunder was roaring across Miami as bolts of lightning flashed between houses here and there. Unable to sleep, the latino slugged towards his bathroom.
Putting his hands on the counter, his head sunk down. His hair was a mess and he was sweaty due to the constant tossing and turning he was doing into the night. Looking up, at the mirror, bags hung down underneath his eyes. They showed no sign of emotion anymore. Numb. Void.
There was a piece of him missing. His body now unfulfilled.
You stood behind him. The curly locks that bounced upon your shoulder were stained with blood splatters as your appearance was the exact same that particular night.
Armando’s mouth was agape as he looked into the reflection of the mirror, slightly shocked but still delusional as he was half awake, that you were really here. This positive aura still beamed around you as your beautiful full lips, and melanin skin was still apparent. Even after death. “Amor..?”
Curling your lips in grief and sadness, you answer him. “why are you doing this?”
“Doing this?”
“The whole team just wanted to be there to comfort you, but you push them away.
Scoffing, Armando shook his head at your oblivious nature. “claramente no entiendes.”
“I do understand.”
“¡No es así! ¡Te he perdido todo! No puedo avanzar".
“Please baby, you have to let me go. You can’t keep living like this.”
“La forma en que vivía antes era mejor que vivir contigo. Conocer a todo el mundo fue un error, mi madre tenía razón.”
Throwing a punch towards the mirror where you were, the shards of glass crumbled down his counter. Little pieces of your soul flew away as the male destroyed the mirror. Destroyed the last pieces of your essence in his life. Tiny pieces of glass punctured Armando’s fist causing streams of blood to flow out of it.
“He did fucking curse me.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━
[🌸] 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒:
“Cálmate, por favor.”: Calm down please.
“No, no. Quédate conmigo.”: No. no.. stay with me.
“¡ Quítate de encima!”: Get off me!
“No me compadezcas.” : Don’t pity me!
“No me importa!” : I don’t care!
“Calmarse? Está bien.”: Calm down? Okay.
“claramente no entiendes.”: You clearly do not understand.
“¡No es así! ¡Te he perdido todo! No puedo avanzar". : You do not! I have lost you, everything! I cannot move forward.”
“La forma en que vivía antes era mejor que vivir contigo. Conocer a todo el mundo fue un error, mi madre tenía razón.” : How i lived before was better than living with you. Meeting everyone was a mistake, my mother was right.

So, given everything that's happened in recent hours, I thought I might give people who don't know about Gundam some stuff to learn about. Hopefully I can give a balanced and not-racist take like some people.
What is Gundam?
Created by Yoshiyuki Tomino with help by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and animated by the studio Sunrise (currently Bandai Namco Animation, though I refuse to call them that), the original Mobile Suit Gundam released in 1979 to initially-limited success, though would gain popularity through a combination of fujoshis shipping the characters, the sale of plastic model kits referred to as "Gunpla" and a recut of the series into three compilation movies throughout the early 80's. And as of 2024 is the 66th highest-grossing media franchise of all time, beating out Scooby Doo, Minecraft and the Simpsons.
Also, I'm pretty sure it's what sparked Japanese sci-fi's obsession with O'Neill Cylinders.
The original anime takes place in the year 0079 of the Universal Century, where the Principality of Zeon: a nation composed of orbital space colonies declares a war of independence against the Earth Federation. This "One Year War" has already claimed half the human population by series start and is waged through the use of "Mobile Suits": bipedal mecha powered by a fusion reactor capable of effectively fighting out in the reaches of space.
Main character Amuro Ray is the son of a Federation engineer who lives in an out-of-the-way space colony, though soon finds his home under attack by a Zeon infiltration. After finding the secret Mobile Suit project his father was working on: the RX-78-2 Gundam, he fights off the Zeon invaders, though finds himself and a bunch of other kids conscripted by the Federation to fight the forces of Zeon aboard the ship the White Base. Throughout his journey, Amuro and the Gundam fight many battles against Zeon, including against their mysterious masked ace pilot Char Aznable.
The series was responsible for the codification (but not creation, people get this wrong all the time) of the "Real Robot" subgenre of mecha, where the robots were relatively more realistic and used as weapons of war as opposed to the more fantastical "Super Robot" subgenre pioneered by Mazinger Z and Getter Robo.
A major theme of the show, and the franchise as a whole is "War is bad", as demonstrated through this meme:
Yes, this is the original version of this meme format.
Anyway, Tomino, a renowned pacifist who grew up in the shadow of Japan's involvement in WW2 tried to use his platform as an anime director to try and tell a story that would get people to realise war's futility and brutality.
So I hear you asking, "That's nice and all, but what about the space lesbians who beat Destiel on their home turf?" Well, let's get into that.
What is the Witch From Mercury?
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, or "G-Witch" for short is one of the more recent entries in the Gundam Franchise and a (very) loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Set in the year 122 Ad Stella, the solar system is under the de facto control of the Benerit Group: a megacorporation with borderline-medieval internal politics that maintains a system of capitalism that benefits Spacians at the expense of those who live on Earth.
Main heroine Suletta Mercury enrolls at Asticassia School of Technology owned by the Benrit Group at the behest of her mother: CEO Prospera Mercury of the Mercury-based Shin Sei Development Corporation, and wins a Mobile Suit duel against a bully in her own MS: the Gundam Aerial. This however means she has now won the hand in marriage of daughter of the Benerit Group CEO: Miorine Rembran, beginning a series of consequences that shape the very political landscape of the solar system.
G-Witch was a massive hit, both critically and commercially. The first episode: the Witch and the Bride attracting record numbers for the studio and the Gunpla kit for the Aerial is currently the best-selling Gunpla kit ever.
Contrary to popular belief, G-Witch is not the first piece of Gundam media to feature a female protagonist. That honour would go to the 2002 Japan-only manga École du Ciel, nor would it have the first queer main character, which goes to 1999's Turn-A Gundam (and if you were to ask any fan of the series, they'd so it goes back to the very beginning). But it became notable for its lesbian representation in anime (in spite of Sunrise's attempts to downplay it, to the anger of the director, writer, producer, artists, animators, cast, fans and even their own parent company Bandai Namco who forced them to back off).
One thing I need to clarify: You don't need to have watched the original series to enjoy G-Witch. They're not even in the same continuity.
So if you're interested in the series and you've only watched G-Witch, I'll give out three recommendations for you all to enjoy:
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Gundam 00 takes place in the year 2307 (the only series to use our own calendar), where the world is divided between three global superpowers: The Union of Free & Solar Nations (The Americas, Australia, New Zealand and Japan), the Human Reform League (China, South, East, Southeast and Central Asia) and the Advanced European Union (all of Europe, including all of Russia west of the Urals) who each control a space elevator near the equator and wage proxy-wars in Africa and the Middle-East over Earth's dwindling resources. This eventually culminates in the emergence of Celestial Being: a terrorist group consisting of Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tierria Erde, all of whom use powerful "Gundam" Mobile Suits and try to forcefully impose global peace on the Earth.
00 is pretty slow-paced and is more about the world than the individual characters, but said characters are really well-written, especially the characters from the three power blocs who are the de facto protagonists as they try to stop what are in their eyes a bunch of crazed terrorists preaching a hypocritical and incoherent ideology of "peace through force".
And to address the elephant in the room, this series is VERY post-9/11. Constant talks about terrorism, proxy-conflicts in the global south (especially the Middle-East), religious extremism, dwindling resources and the wars fought over them. While the franchise has always been political and of-its-time, you can just tell 00 was made in the mid-2000's. Again, it's good. But just something to keep in mind.
Turn-A Gundam
Turn-A Gundam is one of the weirder elements of the franchise for a myriad of reasons. Not the least of which being its unique setting taking inspiration from the famous sci-fi novel War of the Worlds.
In the Year 2345 of the Correct Century, human civilisation is at a level of technology reminiscent of the late-19th/early 20th centuries, save for the Moonrace on... well, the moon. As part of their queen Diana Soreil's plan to reintegrate both Lunar and Terran societies, several scouts are sent to the planet to set up their return to the planet. One such scout: Loran Cehack integrates into Terran society as a driver for the wealthy Heim family, though at a coming of age ceremony for the family's second daughter, a member of the Moonrace attacks the technologically-inferior Terrans. However, a mysterious mustached statue breaks apart to reveal a "White Doll": the Turn-A Gundam, allowing Loran to fend off the invaders. rest of the series becomes more of a mystery to how the supposedly-peace loving Moonrace could allow of such brutality.
The setting of the Correct Century timeline alone is one of the draws of Turn-A, though its excellent characters and compelling mystery also help a lot.
I do however have two warnings for people interested in watching it. The first is that this series was never dubbed. While it did receive an official sub in 2015, there still isn't a dub for the series. So if that bothers you, there's your warning.
The other is that there's a pretty big twist in the latter part of the series that while I will not spoil it here, it's such a big deal that I can't not mention it. It doesn't make any sense, and it actively detracts from not just the series, but the whole franchise. You'll know it when you see it. It doesn't ruin my enjoyment, but a lot of people don't like Turn-A for that alone.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam
Favourite entry. Don't care. It's peak.
In the Year 60 of the Future Century, war has been abandoned by the nations of humanity in favour of the Gundam fight: a quad-annual fighting tournament between Gundams representative of the countries of the world where the winner rules space until the next Gundam fight, all while leaving the Earth ecologically devastated in the fighting. Neo-Japan's Gundam Fighter: Domon Kasshu arrives on Earth seeking information on his older brother Kyoji, who killed their mother and led to their father's arrest before stealing the experimental Devil Gundam to Earth, beating up every Gundam Fighter in his way. However, he eventually learns of far more dangerous revelations about the incident.
G Gundam is to put it bluntly: bat-shit insane. And I love it. It basically took a look at the then-stagnating franchise in the wake of the wet fart that was Victory Gundam and said "I know what can save this franchise, Bruce Lee movies!" And it somehow worked.
Word of advice: watch it dubbed. Mark Gatha absolutely kills it as Domon every time, and puts just the right amount of ham into every line.
So yeah, that's some stuff on Gundam. This was a long post to write out. I'm gonna take a break now.

Monsoon Games: Roadmap
I'll continue to tweak this rough roadmap according to the responses I get from the google form, but here's the plan (ideal-case) for the next 1-2 years!
If you haven't filled out the form yet, please do, as answers would be super valuable in helping me better gauge, prioritize, and budget my next steps as well as tweak the pricing for the tiers!
Phase 1: Now till end-2025
Full-time urban planner
Part-time game dev.
Likely to be mostly solo-work and choice-script based
Phase 2: Beginning 2026 till end 2026
Part/Full-time game dev
Likely to involve / bring in an artist/coder, depending on eventual decision on game format (ren'py, Godot or choicescript)
Phase 3: Beginning 2027
Launch phase 2 game
Re-evaluate what to do next, likely back to my full-time job, but to KIV this based on what happens in Phase 2
Details below the cut!
Again, if you have comments, suggestions, preferences, do leave a message or email ([email protected]). If you're interested to collaborate, or to find out about what games I'm thinking of, click here.
Phase 1a
Timeframe: now till end 2025
Scope: Keep rolling out choicescript updates for CT:OS and Merry Crisis. This will form the base of content for ko-fi/patreon (with subscribers continuing to get early-releases until these games are complete).
Phase 1b
Timeframe: start sometime 2nd half of 2025, run concurrently till end 2025)
Scope: Write a choicescript 'concept demo' for 2 new games I've been haunted by over the past couple of years. (I'll release more info on this if I think they're viable). Whether or not they become more complex games, I'll at least have the choicescript demo.
Phase 1c
Timeframe: optional, but to start as soon as funding is obtained
Scope: Depending on interest, I want to consider doing a port to ren'py for Merry Crisis (or CT:OS, but likely MC) for a more visual-style game. This would involve either hiring a coder to help with the port, or doing it myself. More importantly, will need to commission art for this.
_____
Monthly-subscriptions for both Phase 1a and 1b would include the following tiers:
$3/month (existing): Just to support me :)
$6/month (existing): Early-access links to CT:OS and Merry Crisis
$9/month (new tier): Same as above + Early-content (e.g. lore, character snippets & art, non-interactive stories, dev logs) for new game(s)
$12/month (might not go for this tier, but including just as a concept): Same as above + Expanded early-content (e.g. interactive choice-script based demo access)
Phase 2a
Timeframe: Beginning 2026, probably 6-9 months or more depending on scope
Scope: With CT:OS and Merry Crisis completed, I hope to then turn my sights to converting the choicescript demo created in phase 1b into actual complete games. This could either take the form of:
A full choicescript game
A full ren'py (visual) game
A full Godot (2D) game
About 2-3 months into Phase 2a, I will also have enough content to launch a kickstarter, which would hopefully bring new backers on board and funds to speed-up production of the game(s). For folks who prefer supporting once-off instead, they'll also come in at this stage :)
Phase 2b:
Timeframe: Probably 6-9 months into 2026
Scope: Once there's a playable beta version of the game, I'll then do testing with subscribers and other beta-testers, and do de-bugging.
_____
Monthly-subscriptions for both Phase 2a and 2b would include the following tiers:
$4/month: Just to support me :)
$8/month: Subscriber-only content for all new games in development (e.g. character snippets & art, dev logs)
$12/month: Same as above + Little interactive patches/expansion packs for CT:OS and Merry Crisis
$16/month: Same as above + Expanded early-content for all new games (e.g. non-interactive stories, scene peaks/teasers, interactive twine or choicescript based playable content, access to beta version of the game when ready in phase 2b)
Kickstarter tiers:
$12 once-off for a specific project (a selection of content from the pool of characer snippets & art, dev-logs that $8/month subscribers get)
$25 once-off for a specific project (same as above + a selection of content from the pool of expanded early-content)
$35 once-off for a specific project (same as above + special perks e.g. ability to design a character or item or request chapter)
Phase 3
Timeframe: Start of 2027 onwards
Scope: When at least 1 game is launched, hopefully by start of 2027, I'll re-evaluate and see what to set my sights on next! This probably also means going back to full-time urban planning :)

INTRODUCING: CRACK IN THE CHASSIS
Because we always need more cracky fanworks. Yes, even if we have a billion already. We need more.
Every absurd crossover or AU, every ludicrous pairing that would never ever happen in canon, every "What if?" thought that was followed by "Actually, it'd be weird as hell but I could make that work"--we want them.
SPN canon brought us evil clowns that explode into glitter and an entire season where the villain was high fructose corn syrup. Fandom can make it worse. We have the technology.
Crack in the Chassis is bang and a reverse bang at the same time--but NOT limited to fanfic and 2D fanart!
THAT'S RIGHT. You can get cracky with format as well as content!
Have a bunch of SPN figurines you'd love to pose for photo stories or--if you're a masochist--stop motion animation? We'll take it.
Do you have a ton of red color gel food dye and a sheet cake that would make the perfect canvas for a torture scene? We'll take it.
Do you have a few "in this essay, I will" jokes that you're lowkey dead serious about, even though you know you'll look like the Pepe de Silva meme? Don't be self conscious. We'll take it!
Filk, animatics, short films, cosplay--if you can find a way to transmit your fanwork over the internet and it's ridiculous as hell, then you can submit it to CRACK IN THE CHASSIS.
You can be either a pitcher (creating your work first) or a catcher (claiming a work from the gallery and creating a work in response to it.)
And don't worry, if you want to keep to the traditional ways, fanfic and digital fanart are fully welcome.
As pitcher, you can specify which types of fanworks you're willing to claimed by! You can treat this as a traditional bang or reverse bang if you want to--or you can get a bit adventurous. Allow your fanfic to be claimed by another fanficcer and see what it's like to collaborate with the same equipment. 😏 Mark yourself as exclusively fanart4fanart and watch the ficcers cry about it.

(10.) In response to the desire expressed by our readers, we are offering them today, as a free bonus, the pattern for an elegant and simple house dress for ordinary size. This model is made in soft and warm wool in light shades with velvet or similar fabric ornament. The front straight grain in the middle is gathered at the neckline, adjusted under the arm by a clip. The size of the paper does not allow us to give it the desired length, we warn our readers that they will have to lengthen it by 0.60 meters in the middle of the front, 0.64 meters on the side and 0.80 meters at the width of the bottom. This length is naturally optional, because it will be adapted to the size of the person for whom it is intended (see pattern no. 7). The straight side fitted at the waist also needs to be lengthened as well as the back (see indications given on the pattern). The lining sleeve is fitted with a puff, gathered at the bottom and assembled with pleats at the armhole finished with a flounce. Slanted collar, a flounce trims the bottom of the dress, and a pleated berthe covers the shoulders, a belt passes under the gathers at the front through an opening made with a buttonhole stitch. The belt can also be put on top. We have at the disposal of our readers, advantageous fabric samples at the price of 1.45 francs per meter in 1 meter width. To make this dress you need 6 meters of fabric and 1 meter of velvet. Add 0.60 francs to receive the free coupon.

hey i love your dandadan fic so far! I love how well you captured momo's pov especially!
I am curious about the choice of rum and raspberries, an unconventional scent but def one i can see as appealing
Love to hear it~
As for the choice of scent, it's actually based off of a Cola flavor (bear with me).
So the Cola brand, like most Mega brands, tend to take weird and unconventional avenues with their flavors and themes. Nothing was safe; not marshmallows, not bacon, not even green tea. But Coke de Cola didn't stop at actual edible ideas, no. These bitches went and bottled literal outer space.
Specifically, they based their latest flavor theme off of the Milky Way, and named it Starlight. But then what could the cold and merciless vacuum of space possibly taste like, hm?
Raspberries, apparently.
More specifically, ethyl formate, which is an organic molecule found in dust clouds in the Milky Way, where astronomers identified it in 2009. It also just so happens to be responsible for the flavor of raspberries, yet has the distinct scent of rum.
Since I haven't found any ABO of Dandadan (that I know of) when I started this, I didn't have anything to really go off of besides my own assumptions of the characters. Momo was easy, her name literary translates to 'peach' but Okarun look a bit. But knowing that his love of space is such a big part of his character, I figured it fitting to give him a part of it here. It feels only fair, to let him connect to the place he always felt drawn too.
(Also, I like raspberries and blackberries in alcohol, so it's a bit personal presence too).
So, yeah, hope this answers things :D

𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄, 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐖— elisa de almeida
elisa de almeida x fem!reader
(a/n: something small and cute for the elisa girlies (as well as self-indulgence), probably some grammatical errors so keep your expectations low, but anyways, enjoy luvvies ^_^)
word count: 598
genre: fluff
As the year ended and the football season was slowly coming to a pause, you stood on the sidelines of the pitch along with your fellow PTs, bundled up in scarves and gloves, watching the ladies’ training session that taking place in the sharp winter chill, discussing the necessary next steps for the team before they split up for the winter break. Elisa with a slight limp, as she ran, had caught your eye (for a long while at that), hoping that she knew to come see you afterwards.
Once the session was over, the young Parisian was back in the clinic as you anticipated, a small sympathetic smile lifted your cheeks slightly as she greeted you.
“You’re quite a trooper, you know,” you said quietly as you washed your hands in the corner of the room, with Elisa humming in response, letting out a small laugh as she lay on the treatment couch. “But as I said before, please stop turning your hip inward,” you scolded her softly, sitting on your stool, eyes softening as you traced the features of her face.
“Practice was great, my love, thank you for asking,” she answered back sarcastically, you playfully hit her arm, knowing that she wasn’t supposed to address you as anything but your name.
Carefully peeling the kinesio tape off her left thigh that held up her hamstring. Rubbing oil onto her soft skin, you began massaging the muscle, letting her ramble on about formations for the next set of games coming up in late January.
“The Ajax game should be alright, considering–” she let out a small shriek as you were knuckle-deep in a tender spot on her thigh, she watched your movements, glancing at the club crest on your top.
You remain unfazed as your eyebrows furrowed, examining the spot, “you didn’t tell me about this before,” you looked at her apologetically, soothing her thigh “with that, you mentioned that your calf was causing you some issues?” you questioned Elisa.
She nodded as her face lit up with a playful smile, “yeah but this was at home, not here at the clinic,” she teased, combing a hand through her hair.
“So technically, this is new information to you.” you both said in unison, with you letting out a small chuckle. Your face quickly dropped as you scrutinised her calf, seeing how tight it was, raising an eyebrow as you questioned her again.
“Elisa.” You perked up, she noticed your change in demeanour, making her sit up slightly. “Have you been doing the stretches I showed you?” you eyed her, quite serious and sombre, as you waited for an answer.
The Saint-Germain player looked up at the fluorescent lighting, scratching the back of her neck, she could feel your eyes on her. The silence for what felt like minutes which was only a couple of seconds, was all you needed as an answer. You sighed as you spun around once on the stool, thinking of whether to lecture her or to make a joke, Elisa interrupted your thoughts.
Your girlfriend quietly watched you contemplate, “I know but before you lecture me, the calf pain just never crosses my mind, I’ve gotten used to it,” she looked on at you regretfully as you frowned at her, “I promise, once we’re back from our trip, I’ll do them properly.” she held out her pinky finger as a promise, knowing that you couldn’t be upset for long.
A comforting smile appeared on your face as you interlocked your pinky with her, your matching bracelets tinkled together.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”

Paleoclimate and human activity shaped the Araucaria forest in Brazil
The study used advanced DNA sequencing techniques, machine learning and analysis of fossil pollen records to investigate the history of this forest formation.
The Araucaria forest in southern and southeastern Brazil has a complex history, influenced by climatic and human factors. Araucaria angustifolia, the dominant tree in this forest formation, provides food and shelter for various species, including humans. A study conducted by an international collaboration of researchers used advanced DNA sequencing techniques, machine learning and analysis of fossil pollen records to investigate the past expansions and contractions of the Araucaria forest and to identify the impact of past climate and the activity of ancestral human groups on this process. The results were published in the journal Ecography.
“Both climatic and human factors have played an important role in the dynamics of the Araucaria forest. However there are significant differences between the process that took place on the Southern Plateau of the Brazilian territory and the one that took place in the Mantiqueira Mountains, which stretches across the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. And this could be related to the more intense human occupation in southern Brazil,” says Mariana Mira Vasconcellos, postdoctoral student at the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo (IB-USP) and first author of the study.
The researcher explains: “The expansion of the Araucaria population in the Southern Core began during the last Glacial Period, around 70,000 years ago, long before the presumed date of human arrival in South America, which contradicts the idea of an anthropogenic expansion. Instead, we interpret this initial expansion as a response to the climatic changes of the Upper Pleistocene. The wetter and colder climate of this period would also have caused the expansion of other Araucaria species in Australia and New Caledonia. The isolated Mantiqueira population, on the other hand, only expanded very recently, around 3,000 years ago. Although this may have occurred in response to a brief climate cooling event in the Holocene and increased summer monsoon rainfall in South America between 4,000 and 3,300 years ago, a possible impact of human settlements in southeastern Brazil cannot be ruled out.”
However, Vasconcellos points out that this should not be taken as a proven fact, since archaeological evidence of human settlements in the Mantiqueira is scarce compared to that of the Southern Plateau of Brazil.

(source — behind a paywall but using the reader format in Firefox worked for me… I will include terrible auto-translate behind the cut for anyone interested with apologies for any errors)
Diego Luna has high expectations for the new government that will be headed by Claudia Sheinbaum starting next October, as she is the first woman president of Mexico, but he also knows that as a society there is a lot to rethink.
The actor of "Y tu mamá también" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is at the International Film Festival that takes place in this city, where he will not only receive a tribute tonight, but also presented the documentary Estado de silencio, which he produces and which deals with the violence suffered by Mexican journalists.
"(The first woman president) We do not owe it to any political party, that is a fact to celebrate and I do find it very exciting to be living it, I am very grateful that I have to live it. That excites me and I also have a lot of expectations to see what is going to happen, because I think we are living in very complicated times, a little bit of the interest of that reflection is reflected in State of Silence," says Luna.
"I think that the violence, the impunity that the journalistic profession experiences and the total absence of justice is a clear example on a scale of something that happens in this country," he adds.
But he points out that he always has hope for the future, something that reaffirmed the public's response to the documentary, which contains the experiences of journalist María de Jesús Peters, EL UNIVERSAL's correspondent in Chiapas, as well as other journalists who face similar risks.
"When things happen to me like the ones that happened to me yesterday after the presentation of the documentary, I do wake up with hope, it is nice to see when people connect and when they care about the other and manifest it, yesterday that meeting was beautiful and those expressions, moments, give me illusion and hope," he stresses.
Recently, Luna finished the last season of the series Andor, the prequel to Rogue One, where it was directed, among others, by the Mexican Alonso Ruizpalacios, with the cinema photograph of Damián García.
"I'm grateful for the format that let me enjoy it until the end, I've never done television for more than two seasons and I, as I'm old and I like cinema more than anything, I live it as long movies (laughs) or eight short independents, it's not something that has been carrying for years," he says.
He indicates that the installment ends where the film, released in 2016, begins, when his character is the one who helps steal the plans of the Death Star, the central theme of Episode IV.
" (Cassian) A lot has to happen to him to throw that mission and for someone to give it to him, he still has a lot to prove," he says briefly.
What he's also happy about is the new version of The Kiss of the Spider Woman, in which he plays a political prisoner who shares a cell with a gay man in the 1980s.
Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast and Mr. Holmes) is the director, with a cast that includes Jennifer Lopez. "We shot a piece in New York and a piece in Montevideo. It's basically a tribute to the musical work that was done on Broadway in the early '90s."
Today, the actor will be honored. And if some like the late Jorge Fons (Red Dawn) said that he didn't like these ceremonies because he seemed to be being fired, Luna sees it differently.
"I've had to live long enough to know that no, that I can take away that fear, these days have been beautiful, a reminder that I'm part of a community."

The Structure of a Successful Game Changer pt. 1 - Make Some Noise
An analysis of the stages comprising an entertaining and innovative Game Changer episode, explained by breaking down the episode Make Some Noise.
Stage 1: Our contestants have no idea
With prompt "cow," Josh responds "cow." Sam replies, "I'm sorry, that is not the answer I was looking for."
Often only a turn or two, this first stage is comprised of the players identifying the core mechanic of the episode—getting a basic understanding of what each question will ask of them and how they might earn points or advance further. Other examples: the first forays into navigating the Jeopardy board, or Sam’s opening instructions for “Sam Says” demonstrating an instruction not preceded by “Sam says” should not be followed.
Stage 2: You all understand
With prompt "duck," Zac responds "quack quack" and receives a point. Josh comments "Okay I see, I see what this is about, okay."
Here the players realize the structure of each question, and witness some behaviors receiving points while others do not (excluding non-point-earning episodes.) Sometimes, this is all the players need to understand the fundamental premise (mimic the sound produced by the prompt) while sometimes unraveling the mystery of the premise is the overall conceit of the episode (tell us about yourself, yes or no.)
Stage 3: Escalation of Rules
After Zac's response to "frog," Sam says "I'm gonna toss it up to the other two contestants [to steal the point.] Brennan, give me your best frog."
An expansion to the initial rules is revealed, allowing players to further advance/gain points beyond the initial bounds of the premise. Here, the escalation is that players may steal prompts from each other—others include incorporated phrase bonus points from The Official Cast Recording and the hidden immunity loop-de-loops from Survivor.
Stage π: Departure
Sam says "We are now headed into our first mini game." Each player attempts to recreate a melody on an otamatone.
This optional stage, typically presented as a “mini game,” is thematically connected to the premise but operates on its own rules. Make Some Noise iterations typically include a mini game where contestants are provided a prop and must mimic a given sound with that prop—no spoken entries qualify. Similarly, A Sponsored Episode and its continuations feature a mini game of providing commercial voice-overs for stock footage (where non-commercial interpretations are not rewarded,) and a mini game of identifying brand taglines/logos.
Stage 4: Escalation of Concept
Sam introduces the next prompt, "Your word is jack hammer." Josh makes a jack hammer sound, bouncing with a hand above his head and explaining "that's him keeping the hat on."
While Stage 3 adds on to the rules of the episode, Stage 4 applies the same rules to something new—here transitioning from animal calls to all manner of sound effects. Escalation of concept can be clearly demarcated, as this example is, or more gradual, like the escalations from common animal calls to obscure animal calls or from physical prompts to intangible prompts like “anguish.” What matters is that escalations continue to push the format to new heights and prevent the conceit from stagnating.
Stage 5: Expansion of Concept
The prompt is a stock photo of a smiling young adult white man. Brennan roleplays the man arrogantly describing his improv group, ending with "This date's going well."
Though similar to Stage 4, I characterize this stage as a dramatic alteration to the format of prompts—here from text prompts to image prompts. This can be for several turns, as it is for MSN, or just one, such as “go” from Sam Says or the cockroach union from “Do I hear $1?” This builds a finale that presses the bounds of the format to their limits, capping off the episode.

"1987’s Fatal Attraction is generally credited with kicking off the erotic thriller craze proper, though the format had been germinating in mainstream cinema since the start of the decade via Brian de Palma’s Hitchcockian 1980 thriller Dressed to Kill and Lawrence Kasdan’s 1981 steamfest Body Heat. In her 2008 memoir Send Yourself Roses, Body Heat star Kathleen Turner argues that it was precisely because they were working in an old-Hollywood framework that they were able to get away with the sexual explicitness that would set the tone for the ensuing decade: “Film noir has a formality and shape to it. Its very familiar form allowed people to accept more readily the daring content that we were presenting.”
Williams writes that erotic thrillers “operate with a constant awareness of masturbation as a prime audience response and index of the film’s success,” and it only follows that they thrived on home video. A 1993 USA Today article called the erotic thriller “one of the fastest-growing genres in video stores,” reporting that these “dressed-up and sexed-up B-movies,” could be made cheaply and quickly. But while the direct-to-video market was an important part of the overall narrative of the erotic thriller, I’m much more interested in what Hollywood got away with in the light of day (which is to say, the glow of the multiplex’s silver screen).
“The best thing to me about the erotic thriller is it takes everything that is usually sort of treated in ellipses and film and just looks at it directly for as long as it takes,” Dr. Veronica Fitzpatrick told me recently by phone. Fitzpatrick is a Mellon postdoctoral fellow in modern culture and media at Brown University, an erotic thrillers enthusiast, and a contributor to the online magazine Bright Wall/Dark Room, whose July issue focuses on the erotic thriller. Fitzpatrick recalled being “blown away” by the camera lingering on the sex between Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke during a recent viewing of 9 1/2 Weeks. “It just goes on so much past the duration of what it takes for you to understand, OK, they’re having sex now,” she said."
#movies#I love the definition in this article too:#''Bodily danger and pleasure must remain in close proximity and equally important to the plot.''
