Don't Think About It

Don't think about it. I thought about it and it made me sad. Don't think about Remus Lupin alone in his home the week that his best friend's son must have gotten his letter because Harry just turned 11. Don't think about Remus celebrating Harry's birthday every year wishing he could be part of Harry's life. Don't think about Remus Lupin watching the clock on September 1st, 1991 and realizing that Harry must have gotten on the train and Harry Potter would be returning to the one place Remus felt at home. Don't think about how Reums would shut himself in his room on Halloween and not talk to anybody and grieved for his friends, even the one who he thought was a traitor because he felt the same person who gave him such good friends also took it away. Don't think about Remus Lupin having all is pictures from school and the first few years of school in boxes and hidden away so he can try and ignore the fact that people he loved are gone. Don't think about Remus Lupin getting a message from Hagrid to find pictures for Harry for a Christmas gift. Dont think about Remus Lupin going though his boxes for the first time in 10 years and finding and giving Harry his favorite pictures of his parents to try and bridge that gap between him and th little boy who probably doesn't remember him at all. Don't think about Remus having to force himself n to to show up at Hogwarts at the end of Harry's first year when hearing about him in the hospital wing and a death eater was near him. Dont' think about Remuse sometimes trying to be in Diagon Alley to just get a glimpse of his best friedn's son. Don't think about the fact that Remus didn't realize how much he would look like James and he sees a peak of him and he almost steps forward because for a moment he thinks its James and then Harry turns and he sees Lily in his eyes and then he goes back into the shadows because it wouldn't have been for Harry, it would have been for Remus. Don't think about Remus seeing Sirius Black escaping and then Remus being asked to be the professor at school. Dont think bout how Remus was going to take the train and picked a compartment that he and his friends had never sat in to try and lessen the memories that would overtake him once he got to school then he wakes when Dememtors come and then he sees Harry right next to him but it's still not time. Don't think about the fact that Remus was trying to connect with Harry but didn't want to force him and wished he could say I'm Uncle Moony and I love you and I want to help you the best I can but they are strangers.Don't think bout how in later books Remus Lupin was part of Harry's guard and insisted on it. Not because of the prophecy, not because he was assigned, but because that is his best friend's son, his other best friend LIly's son and he is protecting his nephew the best way he can and to try and make up for the years he was not part of his life.

That being said, this is the one Remus Lupin fancast that I will fucking ride with until I die.

How It Was With You: Part Two

“Hi,” Remus smiles awkwardly into the camera. “So, I don’t... I don’t usually do this, but I figured I do owe you all an explanation, in the least, and making a video seemed the best way for it.”

He runs a hand through his hair. “I know many of you think I’ve been publicly cheating on Gilderoy Lockhart, and are disappointed in me, and rightfully so. But the truth is...”

Remus takes a deep breath. “But the truth is, mine and Gilderoy’s relationship was fake. The whole thing was just pretend. And admittedly, part of it was for extra publicity for Mary McDonald’s film. Not that Mary’s work needs it, and Mary herself never knew about it, and would’ve never suggested it, so no blame falls on her,” he emphasizes.

“For me, it was mostly because I was in a very bad place,” Remus continues. “The break-up with Siri, Sirius Black, as you probably all know, was hitting me hard. I wasn’t handling it very well, and the constant questioning by reporters made moving on almost impossible. And I asked them! I asked the reporters to please stop bringing him up, but they just ignored my request. I figured, if they focus on the fake relationship, then at least I wouldn’t be constantly reminded of the ended relationship anymore...”

Remus shakes his head. “I’m sorry. I’m not trying to make up make up excuses. I never should’ve lied, and that’s that. Though if I’m fully honest,” he says with a wry smile. “I don’t regret lying to the reporters, as they completely disrespected my mental health. But I do regret lying to you, to my fans. You’ve been invested in me, emphaticizing with me, and looking out for me. You deserved better than to be lied to. You have every right to be angry, and perhaps I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but I’d like to at least offer my apologies.”

Suddenly, Remus’ expression softens. “For those who’ve been worried about me, I want to you to know there’s no need.” He lets out a soft chuckle. “As our little display at the airport may have already suggested, Sirius and I are back together.” A small smile appears on his lips. “I love that man so much, and he makes me so happy. Things are great between us, and I feel like our relationship is stronger than ever.”

Then Remus gets serious again. “I don’t want to talk negative about Gilderoy, or create more tension between us. He and I were both in on the lie, and we’re both to blame. However, there’s one thing I must set straight. Gilderoy has insinuated that Sirius would be excessively using drugs and alcohol, and I’ve seen some people online express their concerns about Sirius being abusive, or our relationship being toxic. I have to tell you, and I cannot emphasize this enough, none of that is true. Sirius is doing everything he can to support his little brother in his fight against addiction, and to support organisations that do the same throughout society. He doesn’t drink and he doesn’t do drugs, and he’s the sweetest, kindest, and most caring man I’ve ever met. Though I admit, I’m a little biased,” he adds with a wink to the camera.

“Once again,” Remus says. “I do not wish to attack Gilderoy. I don’t know why he said what he said. Maybe he thought he was protecting me from questions about Sirius, I don’t known. There’s no bad blood between us, at least from my point of view. I just want you all to know that the allegations towards Sirius are false, and I ask you to stop the speculations. Sirius played no part in faking the relationship, and I’d hate for him to be damaged by it.”

“Well, I guess that’s all,” Remus says, giving an awkward wave to the camera. “Uhm, thank you, and bye.” He reaches out and turns the camera off.

My name is Druella Rosier, and this is Rumours with Rosier!” The curly haired woman with the long, narrow nose gives a seemingly self-satisfied smile into the camera, or perhaps that’s just her default look. “Today we have Gilderoy Lockhart with us, and after Remus Lupin’s trending video message, he will now give his side of the story, which will prove to be quite different than Remus made it out to be. Am I right, Gilderoy?”

Gilderoy gives her a blinding smile with too many teeth. “Quite right, Druella.”

Druella beams at him. “So, first thing first. Lupin is saying that you two never had a real relationship?”

“I admit that it was a fake relationship,” Gilderoy sighs, then winks at Druella. “You don’t think anyone who actually gets to be with me would cheat, do you?”

Druella giggles. “Oh no, definitely not. Good point. So, what about Lupin’s side of the story has rubbed you the wrong way?”

“Well, I’m not hear to talk trash about Lupin,” Gilderoy says, before proceeding to talk trash about him. “But he’s making it out to be some sort of romantic Getting-Back-Together trope, you know? With him having been in love with Black this whole time, and Black being some kind of perfect prince charming.” He rolls his eyes.

“And that’s not what it was like?” Druella urges.

Gilderoy shakes his head with a sad smile. “Not at all. The only lie I told was that we were in a relationship. Everything else was true. Lupin was completely smitten with me from the moment we met, and even before that he had some sort of celebrity crush on me. He was almost obsessed. He was trying to get with me, and the only reason we never were in a relationship, was because I wasn’t really into him. That’s when he asked me to do the fake relationship.” Gilderoy rolls his eyes. “Well, begged me is more like it. He was quite desperate, told me the whole ‘I want the reporters to stop asking me about Sirius Black’ story. Deep down, I knew it was just a scheme to seduce me, but I felt sorry for him, so I agreed.”

Druella makes a disapproving sound. “And then it was him who went after someone else! Without ending the fake relationship first!”

Gilderoy shrugs. “Some people are just like that, I guess. Only when it became clear he really didn’t have a chance with me, he went back to Black.”

Druella sucks in a breath, and the audience murmurs angrily. “Do you think Black knows?” Druella asks.

“I don’t know,” Gilderoy replies. “I can’t imagine Lupin having told him, but I don’t really care. I honestly think Black is too self-obsessed to believe he’s not someone’s first choice anyway.”

“And I have to ask,” Druella says. “In his Apology Video, Lupin was quite adamant about Black’s issues with drugs and alcohol being a lie. He claims he never told you such a thing. Did he or did he not?”

“He definitely did,” Gilderoy replies without missing a beat. “But even though it hurts that he’s implying I am the liar, I do not wish to attack Lupin on that. I feel sorry for him that he went back to such a man as Sirius Black, for what? Money? Publicity? Attention? Sex? But we don’t know how much Black has been pressuring him to make that statement. That man is self-centred and conceited. No,” Gilderoy concludes with a small smile. “Instead of being angry, I mostly pity him.”

A few people in the audience clap.

“You are such a good man.” Druella practically drools over him.

Gilderoy makes a dismissive hand-gesture. “I try.”

First, we had the Airport Reunion, then came the Apology Video, and now we have Gilderoy Lockhart once again twisting the story with his tell-all interview.

If faking a relationship for publicity wasn’t bad enough, the most recent account paints an unflattering picture of Remus Lupin preying on high-profile male celebrities. Whether Sirius Black has fallen victim to his calculated seduction, or whether Black is the mastermind behind it all, manipulating Lupin into getting back with him and using the other man to boost his own image, remains to be seen. What is clear, is that neither man’s reputation seems to be benefitting from the scheming lying, and manipulating.

What is especially noteworthy is that ever since the Lockhart interview has been aired, neither Lupin nor Black has responded to the matter. Or perhaps having Lockhart expose their lies and reveal their true nature was more of a blow than they know how to recover from? Especially on Black’s side, the silence is remarkable, considering the grave accusations made against his person regarding the use of drugs and alcohol. Or perhaps his silence on the matter is telling enough?

Whatever the true story may be, Remus Lupin desperately trying to get with famous men, or him being under the control of a violent and manipulative Sirius Black, those believing in a fairy-tale romance between two soulmates reconnecting after realizing they can’t live without one another, better prepare for disappointment.

First, love triangle? More like a love line between two points and one annoying point on the side not leaving them alone. And how can there be cheating if no one was together? Remus and I were broken up, and Remus and Lockhart never even had anything, even Lockhart admitted to that. And slander? There’s only one person who’s been bad-mouthing the others, and it’s not me and not my boyfriend. I don’t even have to get started on the drugs and alcohol, because how many times do I have to defend myself over some completely unfounded rumour?

I’d have some things to say about Lockhart, but my better half asked me to de-escalate, so I’ll hold my tongue. The only thing that I’m going to say is that I stand by everything Remus said in his video. Yes, he made mistakes, but he’s strong and brave for owing up to them, and being open and honest about his struggles and vulnerabilities. I’m so proud to have that man in my life, he is what makes every day worthwhile. I love him to bits.

she listens to the same ramones songs over and over again and her phone has been the same since 2014 (her dad gave it to her and it still has the same yellowish phonecase that used to be clear), i have to charge it for her because otherwise the only way to reach her is by calling her sister and hoping for the best

i made her an instagram years ago, she forgot the password for like two years, then she remembered and wrote it down in her beaten up phonebook agenda thingy (you must know exactly what i'm talking about)

70% of her wardrobe consists on clothes that don't fit me anymore and 30% is shit he stole from her dad

the only time she has ever bought clothes for herself was for a family gathering thing she had, and the day after she sold them in a thrift store and with the money she bought the cheapest pack of cigarettes you can possibly imagine and used the rest to buy like 15 cans of tuna to feed herself for a week

It’s beautiful, set in a fantastic setting, has love, forbidden romance, mutual pining, skillful lyre playing and singing, action and battles, plotting, anarchy and these two beautiful babies as the lovely (and in love) things they are.... (Please also note the tags for some trigger warnings. Each chapter denotes chapter specific warnings) I had so much fun reading this fic - all the twists and turns and badass characters. I’ve gushed about this fic before LMAO And I see no end in sight --- Please give the fic a read...! RJ puts so much detail and love into his words that I couldn’t even begin to do justice here, this is literally just the tip of the iceberg of an amazing journey Remus and Sirius go on to be with each other.

So when I first came into the fandom, RJ asked if I would be interested in making one of these comics for AVO and I was like “OH I LOVE THAT FIC BUT ALSO - NIWBYD?????” I said that I wanted to do one for AVO someday AND I FINALLY DID!! Thank you for your patience and your kindness, RJ :D I had a lot of fun when this finally came together, even though I was bitching about storyboarding for a week LMAO (RJ: Yes but imagine... The Apple scene from Ch 1. CLEANING HIS BOO BOOS -- Me: STOP IT ---)

Things to Note:

a) Plot goat is my favourite goat in the world (it was originally gonna say ‘bah bah motherfucker’ but I didn’t have room for it and thought it PROOOOBABLY wasn’t appropriate for the scene lol)

b) Remus is wearing green, as he’s owned by Voldemort. His embroidery took the longest - it’s an S pattern that interlocks with each other and it’s the worst LMAO why did I do that to myself? It’s a pattern I’ve noticed with RJ’s Remuses... I always give him the most complicated patterns xD NIWBYD had that stupid plaid pattern that took me ages to draw...!

c) Sirius’ sandals!! Finally got to draw those red bastards!!! His embroidery design is based off the fanart I made before (they’re T-shapes at 180 degree angles from each other lol), but decided to make it my Gryffindor red colour, along with the gold :) 

d) I didn’t want to draw Snape. LOL But drawing his swollen-shut eye was at least a redeeming situation. (His tiny little beady eyes that have like no eye shine... *cue me zooming hella in on my canvas to give some eye shine so he doesn’t look... dead.*) His embroidery is a squiggle LOLLLLLLLLL His took the least amount of time. *shrugs*

e) I’m really proud of my fountain and water-drawing ahahaha so much unnecessary time spent making the water look so blue and pretty -

f) The pink apple is the 4th character in this comic, seeing as it shows up just as many times as Snape, if not more ahahaha
