Robin!Tim decides he needs a baby brother so now he got a baby brother and no one can state otherwise
Bruce walked down the stairs half asleep after a long patrol to have breakfast. He walks into the kitchen. There's Tim with his usual mug of coffee sitting on his lap is another kid he had never seen before. Begin half asleep he continues toward the coffee machine to grab a cup for himself as well as if nothing's wrong. He abruptly stops halfway there realising what he had just seen and does a double take.
"Tim.." Bruce starts in a deadly calm tone "who is he?"
Tim looks over him with a look that makes it obvious he is questioning his intelligence. In the end Tim seem to decide to grace him with an answer "My baby brother" and turns back to the whole ass child he never seen sitting in Bruce's kitchen.
"Tim.. You do not have a little brother" Bruce says slowly.
"Yes. I do." Tim deadpans.
"Tim, sweetheart where did you find him? Tell me you didn't kidnap him?" Bruce asks while inwardly panicking 'oh no he is taking afte me. He is taking afte me. He even got the kidnapping habits'
"Well.. You see.." Tim starts "Yesterday on patrol I realised I was in a dire need of a baby brother. So now I have a baby brother" he ends up saying as if it should be obvious
"Tim, sweetheart. You can't just kindap kids from the street. Just hand him over and let me take him home. I'm sure his parents are worried"
Both of their head snapped over so fast you could hear a crack which made Bruce vince. Sharp green eyes locked onto him with a look that just dared them to try and take them away all the while they were begin hugged close to Tim who wore a scandalized 'how dare you say that in front of my baby' look on his face.
Just so we ar on the same page:
- it's Robin!Tim before TT incident and Kid!Damian
- Bruce tries to be a good parent. He is just overworked.

Going on yet another rant about “merch”
If you did not screen print that shirt yourself, you did not make it.
You made the design on it, which I’m sure would be a nice poster or sticker perhaps? Which of course you didn't print yourself, that sounds hard! An embroidered design? Maintaining a 12 needle embroidery machine capable of producing a design with that many colors for the number of orders being received is a lot of work, that's pretty impressive! Not to mention maintaining proper tension on the frame working with a hundred stretchy t shirts, which idk came from somewhere who knows! Your repeating pattern looks very nice on a skirt that you did not make and was mass produced by some Vietnamese person getting paid pennies so that ~50 gay people on the internet could pay for international shipping for a design you “made”. Wow that mug is awesome didn’t know you got into sublimation printing! And have a cylindrical heat press to be able to do not just mugs, but tumblers too! Woah your sublimation set up can do bed sheets (any size)? And shower curtains? And three different shapes of throw pillow stuffed with poly fill, which will never decompose and isn't comfortable to begin with?
Your poorly digitized vector art looks lovely as an enamel pin now that someone else (Who? More like who cares!) cleaned it up for you and then created moulds for and maybe even hand injected the enamel into only for you to sell maybe seven or eight of them. Aw damn your design got ripped off? Who could have guessed that with the distribution power of an entire manufacturing plafffnt that has hundreds, if not thousands of moulds sitting around that they might have used your mould to make themselves a profit for a change! Those money grubbing Chinese bastards! After all, you were there every step of the way, casting the negative of the mould, running the injection of liquid metal into that mould, mixing each color of enamel, and precisely filling each segment of the design, which you refused to simplify! You just can't compromise with art.
Ohhh I see they’re made to order so its more sustainable. So this factory (Guatemala? India? The Philippines? Pakistan? Could you point to it on a map? They just don't teach you this stuff in school!) Anyways this factory in some poor country has to keep your design on file, oh and for your enamel pins they have to keep the mould too! Ahh right but it’s sustainable, because it's a limited run. You’re the 100th person this week to place an order, and they're only printing 50 of your design, you should complain to the manufacturer about how slow your orders are being filled.
I love supporting small businesses - it’s just you after all! With all the hard work you’ve put into fiddling around in procreate who has time to figure out material acquisition, and production runs, and printer calibration, and inventory management, and machine maintenance, and payment processing, and international shipping, and packaging, and
#eaii#accidentally clicked on someones redbubble and they call it that because i started seeing red#i'm so fucking sick of this shit#look i think its great that people have more avenues to sell their art#but idk i feel like i'm crazy for thinking that should actually involve MAKING the art that they sell#the upfront investment is prohibitive I get it#but then connect with someone#preferably who lives on the same continent as you#to produce it locally#and like. a printer capable of printing nice stickers and posters is not like heavy duty machinery#again#expensive - sure#but i can almost guarantee that someone living in your city has a wide format printer they'd be willing to let you use#i make custom embroidered patches#im in the middle of building my own embroidery machine. obviously you do not have to do this#the machines that i use currently i borrow time on from someone else#'where do you get cute packaging?' i have brown paper envelopes that i decorate with washi tape and stamps which people seem to like#'how do you calculate shipping?' i don't usps does that for me#'what happens if an order gets lost?' it sucks and is inconvenient but i send them another one or refund their choice#'where do you get materials?' scrap fabric almost 100% of the time unless its a very custom order i spend very little on materials#i'm not asking anyone to reinvent payment services or whatever like if you want to use your neighbors printer and then sell those on etsy#great! thats what i do!#(and also fuck etsy - for different reasons)#but if you outsource the actual labor of producing the good that you are selling to easily exploitable people on the other side of the worl#im judging you. hard.

Wait, I want foxy points!!
Um... How-- how about Return of the Obra Dinn? Ah, I think that's above 10 bucks... Hm...
Oh! Sunless Skies! That one is great.
What else.. Well, the Okami HD port for PC is on sale.
That's all I can think of.
Return of the Obra Dinn has been on my wishlist since it released funnily enough, maybe I should finally get it eventually should it go on a good sale...
I think I've tried playing Sunless Sea once and then was immediately intimidated by all the text and all the possibilities, but also it's not actually on my steam so I have no idea how I have accomplished this, unless I am just hallucinating my memories of making a Fallen London account and quitting within half a day into boat shape... or maybe it was an epic store freebie at some point? Sunless Skies also sounds fun but unless it's significantly more accessible I'd probably prefer the sea one...
Okami HD is also funny because I do actually just own that one for sure, I quit really quickly because everything felt so slow and I was in the wrong mood for that when I tried... wonder if I could get it running on my ubuntu laptop...
in any case definitely a neat set of games, that makes 20 foxy points for Lico-chan, sankyuuu^^

Taxpayer Advocate urges Congress to maintain IRS funding for customer service
The National Taxpayer Advocate Urges Congress to Prioritize Taxpayer Service and Technology Funding Erin Collins, the national taxpayer advocate at the Taxpayer Advocate Service, recently spoke at a Senate hearing in Washington, D.C., highlighting the need for Congress to preserve taxpayer service and technology funding. The annual report released by the National Taxpayer Advocate criticized the "extreme imbalance in funding priorities," emphasizing the importance of adequate funding for taxpayer services and technology modernization. According to the report, the Inflation Reduction Act allocated a significant portion of its funding for enforcement, with only a small percentage dedicated to taxpayer services and technology. Collins emphasized that adequate funding for services and technology is crucial for improving taxpayer experiences, increasing compliance, and reducing the need for costly enforcement measures. Despite the significant revenue collected through enforcement by the IRS, the majority of federal taxes are self-assessed through annual tax returns and timely payments. Collins warned against reducing enforcement funding without considering the potential impact on taxpayer services and technology, cautioning against inadvertently harming essential services. Congress has previously rescinded IRS funding, and further cuts could be possible in the future. With Republican control of Congress and the White House, additional funding cuts to the IRS may be on the horizon. It is essential for lawmakers to prioritize taxpayer service and technology funding to ensure fair and efficient tax processes for all taxpayers. #Money #Advocate #BreakingNewsInvesting #businessnews #Congress #customer #funding #Governmenttaxationandrevenue #IncomeTax #InternalRevenueService #Investmentstrategy #IRS #maintain #Nationaltaxes #Personalfinance #Personalsaving #Service #Taxplanning #Taxrefunds #Taxes #Taxpayer #urges https://tinyurl.com/26kqyfuq

With the rise of wealth and innovation as a result of the introduction of crypto, fraud also flourishes—for instance, the most damaging scam to date is the crypto Ponzi scheme. Investors cannot know what is happening behind the curtains when one promises them an almost impossible return.

I remember getting into a heated argument with him over this issue, actually. (Adding a cut because this went on longer than I intended)
I was struggling with a very condescending and belittling client for about five or so months and eventually what he (client) said got to me more than usual. I don't remember the exact comment, but it was something along the lines of "you force yourself to be perfect and yet you're never good enough." Needless to say, I was pretty devastated.
So anyway, I went to Lambad's, probably gave myself liver problems during the... four hours I was there, I think? Per usual, Lambad had to call Alhaitham to come pick me up because according to him I had drank so much I was talking to the chair across from me thinking it was Cyno. Why him, I don't know. Maybe because it was around that time that he was, contrary to popular belief, the first person in our friend group to figure out that I had a massive crush on him (I hate using such childish terms, though.)
I woke up the next afternoon with a searing hangover, and if anyone knows me, they know I get really, really cranky when I'm like that. I walked over to my desk and... this is embarrassing, but I threw everything off the desk in a fit of rage directed at the client, my inability to please clients, and myself. Haitham walked in thinking I had fallen out of bed and instead saw me breaking down. The conversation went something like this:
Him, standing in the doorway: "So, are you still drunk, or are you just unable to control your emotions even when sober?"
Me, sitting at the now-empty desk with head in hands: "Shut up. What does it matter to you, anyway?"
🌱: "Because one, you interrupted my downtime. Two, I heard your tantrum through my soundproof earpieces. And three, I had to see if I needed to have you pay for damages to the house."
🏛️: "Oh, boohoo. All you ever have to worry about is money this, annoyance that." (Why did I ever say that?)
🌱: "As if your career isn't drawing boxes and lines. You're the most famous architect in Sumeru yet you don't own your own home. How sad."
Then, for some stupid reason, I threw a pen at him and yelled, "You have no idea how hard I work every single day and every single night just trying to make the clients happy. But no, they go and tell me no matter how hard I work, I'll never be good enough! Then there's you, who makes a huge salary without ever hardly moving from your desk! So of course I'm angry. Of course I'm going to let it slip!"
🌱: "Well, do you believe them?"
🏛️: "What do you think?!"
I don't remember what he said after that, I just slammed the door and left. Then it started raining hard and he pretty much dragged me home. I asked why he even cared, and he said to use my brain. ("...or are you that dense?") Those were pretty much the conclusions I came to, except for the one about my father. @ags-haitham You did what?! /lh
He probably meant what he said in the best way, though. Either way, I'd rather have petty arguments like this than be without him at all.

Well, there's this whole thing where if you register on the PROCON website and start putting your CPF on the invoices for anything that requires payment, the state government pays you back part of the tax revenue through weekly draws.
And after all this shit with the floods, I feel entitled to demand a refund for all the bus fare money I have to spend now that there is no subway until at least December. Pay me, you bastards, PAY ME!

I just gotta day, for any fellow girlies who struggle with spending too much money when you go shopping at, say, Bath and Body Works, purely as an example: you don't have to buy every single item offered in a particular line. You love Warm Vanilla Sugar? That's great! I do too! But, you don't need to buy the shower gel AND body wash, ya know? You can pick whether you want a gel or a creamy body wash. Same with moisturizers; do you prefer rich body cream, lighter body lotions, or dry body oils? You don't have to buy them all!
Basically, these companies offer different types of body care choices to suit everyone who wants to buy that scent, not because you need the "complete" collection. They offer different choices because not everyone likes how heavy body creams are or they need more hydration than what a dry body oil can provide.
So, from one shopaholic to another, dont buy something for the sake of having it, dont be cowed by FOMO, dont even buy "just what you can afford," buy what you will use. That's my best advice.

this is going to seem like a patronizing addition, but: 401Ks and IRAs are investment accounts. but the money doesn't get invested automatically unless you set it to. by default it will just put the money in a holding account, which has a decent interest rate but which is way lower than the returns you get with a fund that just tracks the overall stock market.
you need to make sure you log in to wherever your account is and find a place for the money to go. there will usually be an option like 'target retirement date 2060' or whatever, that's the one i select when i am doing mine. you choose to put all the money into that fund, and there's usually a checkbox to automatically sweep any deposits into that fund so you never have to touch it again.
you would not believe how many people never actually set their money to invest. just the other week a coworker realized that our employer's 5% contribution to their 401A had been sitting in a money market account for years.
based on conversations i have had i know some people are like 'oh i would rather leave it in the money market and not invest it, i don't want to lose it all in a crash'. but: there's a lot of index funds that track the overall stock market. the stock market has always rebounded and ended up bigger than it was before the crash. all you have to do is be patient instead of panicking and trying to get all your money out during the dip. the whole global financial system is very tied into the stock market. if something really does happen that totally irrevocably destroys the global financial system such that it can never bounce back, the money invested in my retirement is worthless anyway.
there's a lot of people with a lowkey prepper mindset who would rather put their money toward preparing for a worst-case scenario like that, but what they actually do is make it so that the worst-case scenario is the status quo they never prepared for. they get to retirement age and nothing is saved because they spent it all on a bunker they don't actually want to live in.
Kids, we know how interest works, right? A while back I made a post about how credit card interest can screw you, but we know how interest can be good for you too, right?
I suspect we don't know about this because on one of the posts I made about it someone said something about how it is evil that money can make money, but you know that's not just for the ultrawealthy, right? That is legitimately something that you can and should take advantage of in some kind of retirement/savings/investment account.
Let us say that you are twenty years old, have no money to put into a savings account, but have a job that pays you well enough that you've got twenty dollars to spare from each paycheck.
Let us say that you put that into a normal savings account; normal savings accounts have an average interest rate of .56 APY. Let us say you are going to be working until you are sixty, and that you will add forty dollars to that account every month (twenty bucks from each paycheck) for a total of $480 per year.
At the end of 40 years you would have about $21.5k.
Tumblr media
That's a pretty good chunk of change! twenty thousand dollars is a lifechanging amount of money. But look at the total interest. In forty years you would have accrued only $2300 in interest.
Now, instead, let us imagine that you are a member of a credit union that offers you a free, high-yield savings account with a decent APY. Everything else being the same, but putting that money in an account with a 4% return does this:
Tumblr media
Your total contributions that you put in stay the same, but the amount of money you have at the end of forty years more than doubles.
Let's say you have a thousand dollars to put in the account at the beginning and run it again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Low interest account: you add $1000 at the start and have an extra $1200 at the end.
High interest account: you add $1000 at the start and have an extra $4000 at the end.
There are many, many very stable opportunities for savings that will grow your money. Fifty thousand dollars isn't a retirement plan, but it's a hell of a lot better than what you would have if you just stuck cash in a savings account or if you didn't save any money at all.
I know how hard it can be to save. I know it feels impossible to put money aside, but even if you start with no money and can tuck away five dollars a week you can get a LOT out of that five dollars a week.
Tumblr media
This certainly isn't "you can't buy a house because you get coffee at the cafe," but it something that can HELP.
Now, let's suppose you're not twenty. Let's suppose you're in my boat, and you're (almost) forty and you're going to be saving for twenty years. You still don't have a lot of cash, but you know it has less time to grow interest, so you double your contribution and you put in forty dollars for each paycheck for a total of $960 a year.
Tumblr media
That is extremely very much not the same thing as putting in forty bucks a month for twenty years. Instead of your interest being nearly one and a half times the amount of your contributions, it is around half.
If you are a young person (honestly even if you are not a young person) and it is in any way possible for you to start putting money into any kind of an investment account, you should do so as soon as humanly possible. The earlier you do it, the more interest you will have and the more money you will end up with when you are nearing retirement age.
This is how individual retirement plans work. This is what a 401K does, but sometimes it does that with matching contributions from your employer (so your employer matches whatever you put into the account up to a certain percentage of your pay). 401K accounts also often have higher APYs than high yield savings accounts, though they have more limitations on how and when the money can be pulled out.
If you are broke as fuck and never learned anything about investing or interest from your family because your family was broke as fuck too, now is the time to learn. r/PersonalFinance is a reasonable resource (and if you ever happen to have a windfall that's the first place I would point you for figuring out how to make the most of it) for learning about this stuff.
Thinking about money sucks! Being afraid you'll never be able to retire sucks! Having to figure out how to save sucks! But there are tools out there that even very fucking broke people can use to make that suck less.
