#neon's void#Reading this one for book bingo but it's non-fiction and I got curious#and wanted to see if anybody shared the critiques I already have (the author is bigoted in many/most possible ways)#but instead they are showing that they never learned basic reading comprehension skills or about the concept of nuance#I read kafka who is about 20x worse than any of the bigotry so far so I'm fine I just wanted to commiserate a little bit#but instead I got ridiculous takes like 'not wanting to develop wild areas more than absolutely necessary is selfish and ableist'#That's a take I'd expect from tiktok or tumblr#not from actual book reviews (yes. plural.)#Like guys. There is a lot of actual bigotry including ableism. You could have talked about that instead of showing off your inability#to recognize or critically engage with the actual argument there (preservation of the wild is more important than public access)#I guess people from tiktok and tumblr write book reviews too but still
