✉ FFXIV RP Letters / Postcards ✉

The concept is simple: Send IC letters/postcards to other characters (via Asks).

You don't have to handwrite them either. Why not pick a font that best represents your character's handwriting, and type it instead? Then just hand it to the Post Moogles (upload it to the recipient's Asks).

As with real life letters, there's no requirements on length, or frequency. You can write as much (or little) as you want, when you want.

If anyone sees this and wants to write any of my characters, please hit me up. I also highly encourage reaching out to others to see if they'd be interested in such a thing.

It could also be a fun to extend RP to characters that you've seen around, but never had a chance to interact with. Timezones and DC locations have no power here!!

Something you'll want to establish before you start writing though, is how your characters know each other. Could be they simply posted/read a notice on a board about penpals wanted. Or maybe they met previously? Maybe they grew-up together?

Why not choose parchment that suits your character? Maybe they like pretty patterned paper, and always have a ready supply of stationery to choose from.

Or maybe they travel a lot, and just use a page or two from an everyday notepad they keep with them.

Or could they be the type that frequently forgets to write, and maybe only has a napkin or back of a flyer to hand when they finally do remember?

You could write about anything you'd like. Whatever your OC gets up to, or thinks about, and is happy to share.

The beast moved forward towards him and he prepared to dive for the worm's throat until his foot suddenly sank deep into the sand, eyes widening as he felt his center of balance shifting. Trapped in sand to his knee he let out a gasp as he crashed hard onto his chest, swords skittering to the side. Glancing up, he found himself face to mandible with his quarry, the two seemingly having switched places of hunter and prey.

This is likely to be one of my only out of character posts, so thank you for stopping by! I'm fairly new to both FFXIV and RP and I'd love to meet more folks in the community. If you have a character blog, post RP logs, screenshots, glams, character prompts, or whatever else, please let me know! I'd love to find some new awesome people to follow.

So for the webbed site, I've added a few things and removed some. The likes system is completely gone now, it didn't really seem to have any real use in connecting people. It has been replaced with the notifications.

You can now let other roleplayers know that you're interested in interacting with their character and let them know what character you think would be a good fit. This notification should act as a bat signal in some cases for people who have opt'd in for contact in game. Or it may be a good sign that you can message them on discord.

Due to some issues (I'm working on) you have to select a tag from their list that best matches why you were interested to give a hint to why you've chosen to send a notification. (this will expand later to include more details).

Lastly, I've made registration open. The character creation system can be shut off in case of emergency but as it stands you can make up to two characters.

In the future, my next update I plan on fixing bugs (of course), expanding on notifications, fixing up the mobile experience beyond just being able to browse, and adding a communities feature for roleplay communities and groups to advertise on the site in the same way as characters. I have no intention of adding venues as of right now, there are plenty of sites and tools to do that.

Once a humble coffee shop nestled in the heart of a great free company, The Fireside was the go-to place for members of Firelight Trading Company looking for a bite to eat after a long mission. Realising its potential as both a meeting place and a means of capital, its proprietor expanded the business throughout the various city-states of Eorzea until The Fireside became synonymous with coffee, company and great food; sourly needed after the anguish of The Final Days. Now, patrons old and new can gather to enjoy the hospitality and cosy atmosphere these avenues provide. Welcome to The Fireside! This establishment was made to focus on the creation and fostering of late-night/oceanic roleplay. Though physically located in Balmung/Crystal's Shirogane, the Fireside's expansion into almost all the city-states creates a space where your character can walk in from almost anywhere, and our focus on a coffee-shop with a laid-back atmosphere encourages off-the-cuff, casual roleplay that can turn into more. The Fireside will be re-opening for events shortly after Dawntrail's release. The staff are going to take some time to get through the MSQ and give everyone else a chance to play the expansion for a little bit before we begin again, but we're making a come back! Please look forward to it!

Did some artwork of my character Zara on FFxiv and my friends Miqo Tabi. The artwork is based on a roleplay we've been doing and so far I LOVE their story so much. Tabi is a pirate, Zara is a retired sellsword. They both have big ol' supiriority complexes, Zara's jsut happens to be a little smaller, so the banter and barbs back and fourth is GREAT. xD But I adore these two characters a lot. <3

Personality: Reserved, almost aloof. Intense. Helpful. Honorable. His noble heart and wanderlust belies a quiet guilt.

Distinguishing Features: Vieran male. Lotta blue. Speaks Eorzean with a noticeable but pleasant accent akin to Finnish. Faded scars across his back and torso. Brand on the back of neck to identify him as a Garlean prisoner, usually covered by hair.

Löksen was a typical Wood-warder many years ago, until the day the Garlean empire attacked Dalmasca. During a periodic visit to his home village, hearing disturbing rumors that Garlemald had set eyes on Dalmasca. Having proven to be a great archer, the leaders urged him and a small group of other Wood-warders to make a trip to Dalmasca to convince the Viera living in the city to come home.

Ultimately, they failed. Having scarcely arrived in the foreign city, it was overrun by Garlean forces and the other men were killed in the ensuing battles and Löksen taken prisoner for several years. During his imprisonment at a Garlean labor camp, Löksen was a target of fascination and sometimes ridicule as a rare male of an already elusive people. His Wood-warder background prepared him for the harsh conditions of the camp and helped him survive. His time in the camp also introduced him to a variety of people and cultures that he never would have encountered otherwise. Imprisoned Sharlayan scholars taught him the Eorzean language, an old Hingan woman taught him the way of the samurai, a pair of Lalafell smugglers regaled him with stories of Ul'dah, among others.

Eventually, the camp was inadvertently liberated by Bahamut's rampage and during the chaos, Löksen fought and killed the Garlean officer who had served as a tormentor and overseer and took their gunblade as a trophy that he carries with him.

Now he wanders Etheirys partly as an adventurer inspired by the stories of his fellow inmates about the diverse lands they came from, but also to try to escape a sense of guilt for failing his people in Dalmasca and trying to seek solace.

Hey there, mun here. I'm pretty flexible on how to start interactions. I'm completely open to discussing things or just go with the flow, provided you start of course.

I designed Loksen to essentially be a support character. He's not a WoL, he's not blessed with Echo. Honestly, my goal with him is to bring texture and enhance YOUR story. I suppose I'm more focused on being a character than a protag, I guess.

He's got his own little stories, but I'm here to make friends and try my hand at a creative outlet that I haven't done in several years.

Anyways, here's some possibilities!

Yojimbo: A wandering warrior of no small skill. Something need doing? Body? Guarded. Bounties? Hunted. Monsters? Slain. Need a courier because you can't deliver through regular services? He's got legs.

Animal-lover: He will pet the animals.

Tarzan Boy: You can take the Wood-warder out of the woods, but you can't take the warder out... of... the... Well, Loksen prefers to be out in nature when he gets the chance and he can be a bit wild. Maybe you encounter him out in the Shroud climbing amongst the trees and foraging for food.

"Where'd You Get That?!": As a samurai, Loksen carries an extremely unusual blade: the gunblade of a Primus Ordinarius of exquisite craftsmanship. Sure to draw the attention of any Garleans affiliated character. It has been modified to be suited for fighting in the manner of the legendary Hingashi warrior tradition.
