THE GAME HAS BEEN RIGGED FROM THE START
this muse is a TF2 Engineer AI that lives in the Team Fortress 2 Game/Program, on a Dev Computer that has been left to rot (& is rotting). you will often find it in a Dumpster or a Garage Sale, or the Game itself if you wish.
the form that this muse will come in with will depend on what World your muse occupies, & whether or not you wish to RP with this muse within its World or Yours. + Verses can be found at the bottom of the AI's Bio.
this blog is written by & follows from @fandomandangstlover (english is not my first language, so ah'm sorry if the wording is a little weird)
— [ CHARACTER PROFILE ] —
"The Engineer" (HE/THEY/IT) is a playable character in a modified game of TF2 that is left unfinished due to the nature of the AIs that lives in it. The Program is prone to bugs & glitches, as it seems to be breaking.
He is fully sentient and is capable of interaction by means of the Chat Function & general movement that Players associates with Communication (nodding, crouching, spinning, etc.) Sometimes using voicelines/audios that was given to him.
It is not capable of moving at freewill, however, as it still needs to obey the nature of the Program. Trying to fight against it is not recommended. (it learned the hard way.)
it can, however, Ragdoll whenever it wishes.
due to the Program trying to fix itself, it has combined the files of both the RED & BLU Engineer into one(1). which has caused a hørŗib1e error that causes the two(2) AIs to still exist as separated beings stuck in one vessel, unaware of one another.
- the RED one, often being the one most seen due to the Program trying its hardest to never let BLU out, is unaware of the artificial nature of itself. it currently lives in the Teufort map & within the intelligence room by the command of the "higher-ups." he does take peeks outside every now & again.
the AI is as sweet as the Engineer in the "meet the teams" videos, & if not just as crazy. they still set up Sentries despite there not being anyone to take it anymore, only itself. maybe it's an attempt to go back to normality, who knows?
RED always has the default weapon set.
- the BLU one, rarely seen due to its knowledge, only activates when the RED one gains the knowledge of their true nature. it is constantly fighting against its nature & breaking its laws, wanting to have some sort of self control due to its nature as a Player Character. safe to say that whenever it's out, it breaks its reality a little.
it moves around constantly & the Program will try & shut him down whenever it realizes that BLU is out. not much is known about him, though it's very likely that it is unstable (both mentally & physically) & will be prone to violence if not approached correctly.
BLU always has the Gunslinger equipped, & responses more positively towards being called by the name "Dell"
more may be added

Slaying Monsters
i started this three months ago, and decided it was time to finish it. i’ve been wanting to write a piece with dev & some other gang members for a while now i didn’t proofread it yet don’t @ me
red dead redemption | charles smith & devin clarke ( oc )
3,728 words
language, blood, & animal death warnings
thanks for reading!! reblogs > likes!! patreon | ko-fi
Unattended bags are always tempting to a borrower. It’s partly survival and partly curiosity that draws the little beings to bags and boxes and other such vessels that contain stuff. Ideally, that stuff would be useful.
Such is Devin’s idea upon approaching a lone saddlebag. They’ve been watching it for a while now. It has remained unbothered and undisturbed atop a tree stump for over an hour. Surely there’s bound to be something good inside, what with the many members of the Van Der Linde gang constantly coming and going. And surely, whatever those contents may be, small amounts won’t be missed.
The coast is clear. The camp is preoccupied in tending to the daily duties; no one is paying the bag any mind. Devin makes a break for it, keeping low as they run through the grass, to the stump. They pause at the base and give the camp a quick look, pleased to see that no one has taken notice of their presence. For just a moment, they allow themself a prideful smirk, then they refocus on the task at hand: climb the stump and get in the bag. The former is hardly a challenge; deep cracks in the bark provide handholds enough that the borrower doesn’t need their hook or climbing equipment to scale it. Despite the strap and buckle keeping the bag shut, Devin is small enough to slip through a gap and reach the interior.
The space is dark and cramped, but some light filters in through the gap they’d entered. The first thing Devin notices is the smell of leather and sweat, and fabric beneath their feet. Clothing. It’s best not to take anything from these; missing scraps from a shirt or a pair of pants would definitely be noticed. Deeper down, past the clothes, another smell becomes more prominent: something earthy and floral. That could be useful. Devin crawls through the mounds of fabric, navigating the musty space, until their hand brushes something soft. A bit more pawing around reveals it to be an umbel of little flowers. Intrigued, they grasp the stem and pull the plant into the light for better inspection.
“ What the hell…. ”   White flowers, jagged leaves…. Devin scrunches their nose, confused. Is their plant identification knowledge failing them? Or is the owner of this bag an idiot?
Pondering is short-lived. Footsteps approach from the outside––a human. Devin’s heart speeds up. They drop the plant and dive for cover within the clothes just as the bag is lifted. It sways in the air with the human’s long strides, most disorienting. When the swaying stops, the borrower remains hidden, knowing full-well that they are not safe yet. There’s an exchange of words overhead, a brief moment of stillness, and then the world starts tumbling. Devin clutches hard onto the clothing concealing them. Much to their chagrin, this particular jostling is painfully familiar. They’re on a horse.
Somehow, being in a saddlebag is worse than being stuck under a hat.
Fuck.
Suppressing the sickening feeling in their stomach and the myriad of emotions swarming their brain, Devin fights against the horrible shaking and pushes their way out of the fabric folds. Climbing is significantly harder, but they still press on, going so far as to use their knife and hook for more purchase on the tough leather. Slowly but surely, they manage to reach the opening they’d initially climbed through and peek out. The wind whips and frays their hair and makes it difficult to see much of anything. They catch glimpses of the ground speeding below at breakneck speed, and at the horse’s white-and-grey spotted pelt.
Most surprisingly, and to some relief, though, is the rider. The long, black hair and the big, sawed-off shotgun identify the man: “Charles!”
Alas, their voice is unheard over the wind. Devin growls, frustrated, and retreats back into the relative safety of the saddlebag. There’s no use trying to get his attention right now. They’re just going to have to endure the bouncing and the shaking until he slows down. They can only pray that it’s soon.
———
Only an hour or so elapsed by the time the galloping slowed, though, to Devin, it felt like a lifetime. Despite their queasiness (courtesy of the bumpy ride), the borrower pushes free of the mountains of fabric and scrambles up the leathery interior, to the opening. They pause at the rim and focus on swallowing the bile in their throat, then, once it’s clear, level the back of the human’s head with a hard stare.
They breathe in until their chest burns, and let out the loudest yell they can muster: “CHARLES!”
The man jumps in his saddle and whips his head around, one hand to the shotgun on his hip. His eyes scan the horizon behind him, well over Devin’s head.
“Down here. Hey!” They wave an arm, trying to ignore how foolish they feel. Even after months of being around Arthur, it still goes against everything they know as a borrower to flag down a human.
Were the situation different—were Devin not currently fighting some ferocious nausea—they might find it comical how Charles’s expression changes. First he’s struck with recognition, eyes still on the horizon, and then the color in his face pales with realization and horror. Slowly, as if he were making every effort to delay the inevitable find, his gaze lowers to the gap under the saddle bag flap and the little borrower peeking out.
“Devin?” It still takes him a moment to process their presence, and then he’s all but falling out of the saddle (much to his horse’s displeasure). After he’s got his feet on the ground and his balance under control, the man unbuckles the saddlebag lid and flips it open. The color is rapidly returning to his face in a heated flush. “M-Miss Clarke, I didn’t know you were—why are you in my bag?” His hand nears them, but Devin waves it off.
“Don’t. I might puke. It’s a marvel that I haven’t already.” They try to suppress a shudder.  “I didn’t know this was your bag. I just saw it sitting back at the camp, untouched for some time. Thought I could get something useful.”
Charles grimaces sympathetically and lets his hand come to rest on his horse’s flank. He isn’t thrilled to hear that someone was rummaging through his belongings for things to scavenge, but such behavior is to be expected from a borrower, he figures. It does make him feel a little better to know that Devin hadn’t been targeting him specifically.
“I should take you back to camp. Arthur would kill me if something happened to you.” Never mind the berating Charles would give himself. He might not know Devin as well as Arthur does, but their charm is infectious. They are well on their way to having another human wrapped around their teeny tiny finger.
“I’d like that. Eventually. But I don’t think I can take much more galloping right now. Riding in Arthur’s hat was better than riding in here.” The borrower leans over the leather with a quiet groan. The nausea is subsiding, albeit slowly. They do stiffen just a little when Charles lightly rubs a knuckle to their back, but the gentle pressure draws another, more content groan from their tiny lungs.
“I'm alright,” they say after a minute. They glance up at Charles, offering him a weak but grateful smile, and then look to their surroundings. It’s not anywhere they recognize, but that’s not surprising. “So where are we going? ”
“Well, I was going out foraging,” the man says. “Now that you’re here, though…” He trails off, uncertain.
“Oh! Speaking of foraging–––” the borrower vanishes back into the bag, leaving Charles perplexed. Once they emerge again, they hold up a sprig of white flowers. “What the hell are you doing with this?”
Charles squints at the plant, then raises his brow in realization. “You know what that is?”
The surprise in his voice is a little insulting. Devin scrunches their nose. “Don’t patronize me, Mr. Smith. I’ve lived in the wild most of my life. I know what water hemlock is.”
He holds his hands up and offers an apologetic shrug. “That’s actually what I was going to forage for. I found some while I was out with Javier the other day, but I didn’t have time to collect more.”
“Okay.”  Devin inspects the flowers, twirling the stem between their hands. “Still doesn’t explain what you’re going to do with it. Are you planning to poison someone? Is it that Micah guy?”
That earns them a snort. If only. “No. I use it on my knives and arrowheads. That and oleander sage. Gives them an extra kick.”
Devin frowns, just a smidge disappointed.  “I suppose that’s a good alternative use. I used to do the same with my knife when I could find hemlock.” They drop the sprig and watch it fall to the ground far below. “It’d be so easy to poison Micah though…” They say so only half-jokingly.
“Don’t I know it.” Charles shares the sentiment, but he shakes his head. Much as he’d like to see that snake gone, it’s not his place to do anything about his presence. Yet.
Now that the nausea has passed (for the most part), the borrower pulls themself from the bag and climbs up the saddle, making their way up to the seat. “I’m okay now,” they say. “We’ve already come this far. We might as well go get that hemlock. I can use it too.”
Charles looks a little uncertain, but when he opens his mouth to protest, Devin levels him with a hard stare that makes him think twice. He clears his throat. “Why don’t you ride up here with me?” he offers. “It’d probably be a bit smoother.”
Smoother would certainly be welcomed. Devin nods and climbs onto the man’s hand when it’s brought down to their level. His skin is warm and rough, similar to Arthur’s hands. Unlike Arthur, though, he carries them with greater caution. Devin pats his thumb.
“Relax. I’m not made of paper.”
“Er… right.”
They can’t fault him for his caution. Charles has significantly less experience handling Devin than does Arthur. If anything, it’s comforting to know that he is actively trying to keep them comfortable.
He grabs the saddlehorn with his free hand and hauls himself up. First he brings them to his lap, and then, after thinking, lifts them higher to his shoulder, where they climb off. Devin sits just outside of his beaded necklace and takes a handful of his hair.
“Is this going to bother you?”
“No, it’s fine. Use what you need. Let me know if you start to slip.”
Once he’s sure Devin is secure––as secure as they can be on his shoulder––he spurs his horse gently in the ribs. They set off at a slow canter, something a bit less bumpy than the gallop before. Charles is correct: it’s more comfortable riding on his shoulder than it was in the bag, if only a little bit. Devin resigns themself to the reality that they will likely never enjoy travel on horseback, but this is at least tolerable.
Charles is silent for the most part, which doesn’t bother Devin. They find themself occupied looking at the scenery. From their usual vantage point on the ground, they don’t much get to appreciate views of mountains and trees and vast prairies. Even on the off occasion that they hitch a ride on Arthur’s person, they often take to hiding in his scarf, thus dashing any chances of catching the view.
Despite the ride’s discomfort, Devin finds themself enjoying this. They are grateful, though, when Charles tugs the reins and brings the horse to a gradual stop. He spares them a glance when they sigh.
“You doing okay?”
“Just peachy.” Devin gives the shoulder beneath them a pat. He dismounts rather awkwardly, trying not to jostle them too much.
It strikes Devin that they have not just one, but two humans invested in their safety and comfort. It leaves them with mixed feelings fluttering about in their chest.
Best not to dwell on it right now.
Walking is a little choppy at first, what with Charles figuring out how best to adjust his gait with Devin on his shoulder, but, once he figures out a good rhythm, it smooths out. He steps carefully, eyes scanning the ground for the plants he seeks. Devin watches too, though they’re less focused on the hemlock and more interested in… well, everything else. Hemlock is but one plant in a new area full of things to explore.
“Hey. Let me down.” Devin gives the man’s hair a light tug, drawing his attention back to them. Though he can’t fully look at them from where they sit, he still furrows his brow in an uncertain expression meant for them. Devin rolls their eyes. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m a big boy, Charles; I walk around on my own every day.”
“I’m sure, but–––”
“Either you let me down or I’m jumping.” That seems to work. Charles acquiesces with a reluctant sigh and gingerly helps the borrower down to the ground. He remains crouched after they hop off of his hand, still looking unsure. Devin waves up at him. “Go on. Keep doing what you were doing. I’m fine.”
“Yell if you get into trouble,” he says, voice stern. Devin chooses not to take offense.
“Sure thing.” They part with a final wave and dart off into the grass, out of the human’s view. Still he hesitates, but he does eventually get up and carry on with his task. Devin breathes out an exasperated breath.
Having the care and concern of two humans is endearing, yes, but it can also be annoying. Devin might need to have a stern talk with the both of them if they keep this overprotective behavior up. They aren’t a child.
Charles does not feel good about just leaving Devin on the ground, but it wouldn’t have been right of him to hold them like some helpless creature. They’ve reminded him twice now that this is the life they live; he makes a mental note to try and be more respectful of that. After all, he reasons that he wouldn’t much appreciate it if someone else tried to keep him from doing the things he does every day. He isn’t palm-sized, but he imagines Devin still doesn’t care to be doted over. So he bites back his unease. He came out here for water hemlock. That’s what he’s going to find. Devin will be okay.
Following the nearby creek, Charles begins his search. He tests the soil beneath him with his foot, feeling its spring, its moisture, then starts scanning. Familiar white flowers speckle the banks. A faint smile creeps onto his lips. There’s plenty here for him to make use of.
–– –– ––
Devin pushes through the tall foliage, looking high and low for anything that might be useful. They find medicinal herbs, and spices for seasoning. Mentally they commend Charles; he sure knows where to look when it comes to valuable natural resources. Some of these plants are a rare find back at Horseshoe Outlook. They pick and take as much as they can carry, stuffing their bag full.
All is going fine. It’s going great, even. They’re making their way back down to the ground, munching on a sweet, juicy raspberry. The red fruit soaks their hands, their face, and their clothes, making them appear as though they’d just mauled something. It makes them snicker, thinking how Charles will react to see them like this. Their good humor dies suddenly, though. Devin feels a chill rush down their spine. They pause, alert, head on a swivel.
In an instant, everything seems to slow down. Devin drops to the ground as a pink, gaping mouth sails just a hair’s breadth over their head. It snaps shut, long fangs closing around air, and the scaly head of a rattlesnake retreats back to its coils, gearing up for another strike. Berry forgotten, Devin pulls their knife and their hook out. They stare the snake down just as it does them. It’s big––not just to them, but by rattlesnake standards. It’s a big fucking snake. The borrower’s heart races in their chest, but they don’t run, nor do they back down.
–– –– ––
Charles takes several clippings of water hemlock and carefully stows them in his satchel. He doesn’t take everything that he sees, not wanting to clear the area of the deadly plant, but he’s pleased with his haul so far. Already he has enough to coat his knives twice over, so he thinks that he could probably give Arthur and Javier some as well, so as not to waste it. He takes a few more stalks, then stands and stretches his back, arms held out to the side.
“That’s enough,” he mumbles to himself. He turns back to where he’d left Devin and scans the ground. Their tiny footprints are just barely visible in the dirt, and disappear into the grass.
“Miss Clarke?” he calls, taking a knee near the footprints. They don’t answer. “I think I’m just about done here, so I’m ready to go when you––woah––!” The man jumps back as a rattlesnake head pushes through the grasses. Layers of alarm spike in his brain: it’s a big-ass snake; Devin isn’t here; it has blood on its face; Did it eat Devin––?
“Just ‘Devin,’ Charles,” says the tiny voice. Charles flinches again. He swears he heard that voice coming from the snake. Did it eat them? He stares on in confusion, pondering whether or not he needs to cut the damn thing open, when its head flops to the side. Hauling it along is the little borrower.
“Oh my god. Are you––did the snake–––?” He stammers over his words, which surprises Devin. Arthur stammers here and there, but Charles is always so clear and calm when he speaks. They glance down at themself, noting the red stain and slick coating their hands, their head, their clothes…
“Ah! It’s okay! This isn’t––” they drop the snake and wave their hands, trying to placate the man, “I’m okay! This is all snake blood! And raspberry juice.”
Charles still looks horrified, glancing between the borrower and the rattlesnake. He does note that the blood seems to be coming from a deep wound on its head, right between its vacant eyes.
“You… killed it?” He gathers himself on his knees and leans forward, gingerly prodding the lifeless body.
“It tried to kill me first,” they say, sounding almost indignant. “Kinda lucky, though. I haven’t taken down a rattlesnake in a while. I can use it’s fangs and its venom.”
Charles lifts the carcass from the ground, testing its weight in his hands. His eyebrows shoot up at its heft. When he stands with its head at eye-level, its rattle-tipped tail still touches the ground.
It’s a big fucking snake.
“You… killed this monster?” He can’t hide the disbelief––or perhaps it’s awe––in his eyes as he looks back down to Devin.
They huff back up at him, trying not to take offense. “Yeah. I did,” they say, arms crossed over their chest. Charles waves his free hand.
“I don’t––I don’t mean to doubt you Miss––er, Devin. Sorry, I’m just… impressed.” Impressed would be an understatement.
Devin rolls their eyes. They adjust their bag and their knife, then trudge on towards Charles. Before they can ask him to, he stoops down and lowers a hand for them to climb onto. Once he has them at his level, Charles can see their annoyance clear as day.
“I tell you––both you and Arthur, you need to understand that I’m not helpless. I’ve lived my whole life out here. Half of it’s been alone. So spare me your patronizing looks and comments.” There’s venom in their eyes, in their words, as present as that in the venom in the snake’s fangs.
Charles has no hand free to hold up, but he does dip his head apologetically. “You’re right. I admit, I underestimated you. And I’m sorry for it. I’ve never met anyone like you before, and it’s a learning process.”
Devin’s features soften a little. They sigh and run a hand through their blood-slicked hair. It’s gross, but it’s not the first time they’ve been covered in blood. It won’t be the last time either.
“I like you, Charles. A lot. It’s a learning process for me too.” They offer him a half smile, though it does look a bit daunting with their red visage. “I think I’m ready to go home now.”
The man grimaces. “Think you want to… wash off first? Arthur is going to have a fit if he sees you like this.”
Devin looks down to themself, returning the grimace. “...yeah, probably. What I can, at least.” The blood wasn’t going to come out of their clothes without any soap, but they could wash their skin and hair off. Maybe they could hide their outerwear from Arthur, too. They had their underclothing on that wouldn’t show bloodstains.
Rattlesnake draped around his neck, Charles carries the borrower down to the creek and crouches at the bank. He brings his hands down for them to hop off and clean themself off. When they start stripping their outerwear, he turns his head to give them some privacy, and waits for them to draw his attention again when they’re done. Damp, but cleaner, and left in their long underclothes, Devin climbs back into Charles’ hands and scurries up to his shoulder, right next to the snake carcass.
“You good?” He asks.
“Yeah, I’m good,” they say. They give his shoulder a pat.
Charles stands, still a bit awkward with his passenger, but less so than before. “Pearson is gonna love this snake,” he says, tongue in cheek.
Devin bristles and glares daggers at the man. “This snake is my prize. That man is getting none of it. You can have some of it if you want, since you’re carrying it home, but I’m not sharing it with anyone else.” There’s that venom again.
Charles snorts. He pulls himself into his saddle and spurs his horse, gently pushing her to start trotting. “Right. Of course. My apologies, Devin.”

The Red Plague: An Analysis
Ok, I’m to preface this that I am not at ALL a student of medicine or science I am just a humble blogger who really likes diseases, literary analysis, and the science behind death. This will also be a STUPIDLY long post so I am letting you all live by putting it behind a readmore this time
This goes without saying but there is a content warning to this. I’m talking about death, stages of decay, rotting, corpses, vomit, and other gross medical stuff. There will be NO images however. I subjected myself to viewing those images and I will not condemn you all to view them.
I’m going to start this off making sure everyone is on the same page and post an image from the art book about the Red Plague itself
Tumblr media
So let’s start with the canonical facts about the plague first
Average life expectancy was 3-7 days once symptoms show, Averages are also liars which means it could’ve taken a little bit more than 7 days or under 3 days to die.
Spread by the plague beetles, exact method of transfer is unknown but Julian was force fed one and contracted the plague however they are safe to keep in containment.
Plague beetles also infected nonhuman objects like the water supply which is shown as a thick ichor. This ichor no longer possesses infectious properties at the time of the story
Julian believed that it had to do with a corruption in the blood hence the usage of leeches
The Lazarus started as a containment center before becoming a crematorium, meaning people believed that it was spread from contact or things like that
HOWEVER This is not the first appearance of the plague as it would show up at locations Lucio stayed for too long but no note if it spread from these locations.
It’s not a disease, its a curse.
So, this is one nasty plague on our hands. Most diseases that are this lethal would never be able to spread as much as it did unless it could spread from corpse contact or through other means like a carrier. I think that it could be spread through a combination of both which would add an additional need for cremation.
Corpse Disposal & Spreading
Historically during plagues you would simply toss bodies into mass graves or ‘plague pits’. This would be, substantially, easier than what they do in Vesuvia. Cremation is not an easy process and is an art form. The heat needed for a cremation alone is incredibly hot and needs special methods to be contained. Not to mention the tedious cleaning process to make sure ashes don’t damage the heat element. So you are telling me that Vesuvia... went through the process of rowing away their dead to the middle of a lake to do mass cremations because it was the easiest? Yes they would’ve run out of grave space a while ago but no one is saying they can’t go make a plague pit out in the woods for half the work.
Now granted, I understand the imagery of making Asra wade through bodies of rotting corpses to find the apprentice’s bloated corpse is uh,,, graphic. Or making us stumble upon an open plague pit of bones in the woods with you LI is not what most people call romantic. (you’re welcome for that image) So they could’ve just made mass cremations on a separate island for tone reasons but that’s BORING.
Not a lot of diseases are actually capable of surviving in dead body simply because when we die our bodies lose the necessary high heats for them to multiply and survive. But this isn’t a disease in a traditional sense, its a curse to Lucio. And this is Lucio we are talking about, some one who is famously afraid of death and dying, which was grafted by a demon of pestilence who is obsessed with worms (cough maggot symbolism and death by disease cough). So I propose that the plague is spread in addition to plague beetles but by dead bodies themselves. This would put additional pressure on proper corpse disposal and the need for cremation. This fact would also explain why plague doctors were present at the boats leading to the Lazarus instead of simple plague carters (rowers?) as doctors would probably have to keep a closer eye on proper disposal of bodies.
As for how I think the beetles themselves spread the plague, I think it’s probably in a similar way as to how Lyme Disease is spread. I can’t name any disease that is spread by beetles themselves off the top of my head but ticks are pretty similar to beetles (I am not an entomologist). Lyme disease is spread by infected ticks biting into the hosts skin and regurgitating its stomach contents that includes the bacterium for the disease.
This would explain why Julian got the plague pretty awful real quick. He consumed all of the plague beetle’s contents and Lucio didn’t have to try and force a beetle to bite Julian, which would’ve given Julian time to fight back. This is also working with the fact Lucio got bit by a plague beetle when running from Morga in his tale. He most likely contracted the plague, or perhaps he contracted the curse then and later on got re bit, in that bite. This would also explain the ichor that infects the water in the south end. Beetles are significantly larger than ticks, and so they might have a need to empty their stomach contents more and its more waste produced.
Symptoms and Inspirations
The Red Plague is obviously, influenced by the Bubonic Plague in terms of symptoms and Tuberculous in treatment. I will list some of the common symptoms of Black Plague and signs and be comparing these to the Red Plague. I cannot stress enough that I do not have any knowledge in medicine but I don’t think the dev’s are all doctors so we are on even ground.
There are generally speaking three types of plagues; Bubonic (Most common type of The Black Plague and mainly targets your lymphatic system), Pneumonic (When the Plague enters and infects the lungs), and Septicemic (When the plague enters the blood stream, either form can lead to Septicemic)
Bolded Symptoms are what are obvious symptoms the Red Plague has taken from these three variations of plague. Italic is Lucio specific.
High Fevers
Chills
Headache
Muscle Pain
Weakness
Seizures
Swollen black lymph nodes known as Buboes (Bubonic)
Internal Bleeding (Septicemic)
Gangrene (Septicemic)
Shock (Septicemic)
Vomiting Blood (Bubonic & Septicemic)
Coughing Blood & Mucus (Pneumonic)
Shortness of breath (Pneumonic)
The Red Eyes
By far the most obvious symptom of the plague and its trademark. Consider this the equivalent of Buboes to the black plague. This is the first obvious symptom that marks you for dead and probably one of the first symptoms to show after a possible resting phase.
Apparently it takes each eye individually as seen with Julian or it may not take both? The stage we see Julian in isn’t the clearest but I’m assuming he was rather early on with a pretty serious case.
It’s also a debate of what exactly is going on with the red stringy bits under neath the eyes. For the sprite models it appears to be veins under the eyes that have been aggravated. While in the concept art above it has a more liquid and viscous look which is probably blood. And in Julian’s CG of him dying of the plague he has no marks around his eyes. So I’m saying its a fun combo of all of the above.
Essentially I think that the plague is causing the blood vessels in the eyes to pop and do serious damage. There can also be a foreign growth to occur behind the eyes or just magical nonsense, doing additional damage to the veins surrounding the eyes and cause bleeding from putting stress on the veins.
The Arms and Lower Extremities
Ok, remember how I talked about Lucio’s fear of death and how its incredibly likely that the plague is manipulating his fear? In death there are various stages of decay, and different functions occur at each stage. And one of these functions is Livor Mortis.
Livor Mortis is when your blood cells rupture out of your veins and die. These dead blood cells sink down to your body based off of gravity where they settle. This is seen as a purple color on the skin based on gravity, normally the back. This can be disrupted by any disruption to the body, but depending on time you are likely to receive lighter marks based on its previous position.
What I think is going on all over the body is veins are rupturing and the body is going through an extreme form of living Livor Mortis. Just that it’s in red and not purple because this is the “Red Plague” and not the purple plague. And due to the patients still being alive when Livor Mortis is occurring it simply pools into the extremities instead of one specific location, with the fingers and bottom of the foot being the most severe. To add to the veins popping suddenly the subtle bruising through origin points to where the red vein-y look begins remind me of my own experience of having four veins burst in my arm.
Julian had reason to believe he could use leeches to treat the plague and in typical plague doctor fashion of “They were right but not exactly” he was on the right track! Using leeches to drink the settled and dead blood would be beneficial to the patient. As likely leaving these areas to accumulate dead blood would put it at serious risk of rot, since maggots first grow on open wounds and areas affected by Livor Mortis.
Julian might not have been curing the plague but what he was probably doing is preventing a lot of people from developing gangrene and needing amputations. A beneficial skill for a previous combat medic to utilize and what might have drawn additional attention to him. Julian’s uses of leeches could also explain why Lucio does not have any of these red marks since Julian is his personal doctor and Lucio would spare no expense for his treatment.
Lucio’s Unique Symptoms
Portia’s route mentions that due to Lucio’s longer surviving time he developed unique symptoms. We don’t know much details about this besides he was extra miserable and was confined to his bedroom most the time. From my provided list above I think that generally speaking the Red Plague is a combination of Bubonic + Septicemic plagues.
However, Pnuemonic plagues were considered especially deadly, but rarer. Lucio is described as having a cough when he has the plague and generally a wheezy voice. It wouldn’t be odd to think the plague had spread into his lungs due to the increase longevity he had.
There is a dramatic irony in Lucio losing his lungs to sickness as well. Morga tells us about how when Lucio was very young he almost drowned and that instilled a fear of death in him at a young age. He’s also a man with a lot of stamina who can run in the freezing cold carrying a fully grown apprentice on his shoulder or run away from Morga who also possesses a lot of energy. Lucio has trained his lungs to be stronger more so than the average person, and now with his downfall he loses them.
It goes along with his general want of having a new body as well. You can rebuild muscle mass although hard, but recovering from illnesses that target your lungs? You’ll almost never get back to the same degree you previously were.
The imagery of the dead is also present in the animal itself used to spread the plague. Although the beetle comes from Lucio’s tribe, beetles play a role in decomposition. Beetles like to come after the body has been nearly completely rotten, after the maggots and wasps consume most of the dead flesh beetles come in and eat the scraps. Beetles are also used in skeletonizing items, one example I think of off my head is a man who had his amputated foot skeletonized by beetles for keeping.  So these beetles are coming in and spreading a plague that forces the body to go through stages of decay while living, for their own food. Just like Lucio’s tribe came in and slaughtered other tribes for their own need to eat.
The plague was handcrafted to torture Lucio for his inability to finish his end of the deal. That’s why it uses imagery of dead bodies, it steals Lucio’s lungs from him, and why even the dead can cause severe damage.
Of course this is all my own theory and analysis of the plague but thank you for reading all of this.

EVERHOOD: Pinocchio in Psychedelic Purgatory: the Rock Opera Adventure. OR: I walked backwards into hell, and felt euphoria as I became privvy to the Divine Truths
Hello tumblr people. I’ve been Away. I played a game recently and I wanted to talk about it.   damnit i really wanted to put pictures into this mini essay. ive been away from this garbage site for too long, i dont know how to do it lol.  ok anyway    First, I want to say to the developers and anyone else that this has quickly become one of my all time favorite games. Currently writing I have personally never felt a greater emotional attachment to an experience with a piece of software. Perhaps it is the extreme idiosyncratic nature of it, perhaps it is the deeply intriguing storyline, mostly however it is a combination of those in addition to some of the most outstanding psychedelic visuals I have ever seen, particularly in the finale sequence, and a killer soundtrack that combines many genres but focuses mostly to being as bangers as possible. I will be upfront and say this game comes with a boatload of trigger warnings, and thus the aforementioned idiosyncratic nature of it may not appeal to everyone, however I feel it necessary to indicate potential content warnings here as I would hate for people to be triggered: epilepsy is the big one, I myself have mild stutter based epilepsy and it didn't cause health problems or anything but my case is not universal. Anyway. That is a hard warning on epilepsy. I do it because The Incredibles 2 did not, lmao (that's an example of the kind of visuals that trigger me personally. An aside ) Other things include (spoilers): arachnophobia, misophonia (screeches, unsettling sounds), themes of death, immortality, suicide. Some game mechanics are not immediately intuitive and puzzles require some pretty clever but sometimes obtuse solutions. Direction is not always super clear either. People have complained of performance issues but I am leaving this review after playing the switch port, which played smoothly other than some awkwardly long loading times here and there. What I have played of PC so far runs smooth but as of writing, performance for me was fine (my pc is a lowend budget build). There is a difficulty to it. Even playing on easier modes, it can be quite unforgiving. If you're a fan of hard games (I am but I suck at them) and rhythm games (this is, uh, Not? That? Almost functions as half walking sim, half rhythm Game, dodgy shoot em up kinda feels. Truly unique gameplay I think. Constantly switches things up, too. But yes I also adore rhythm games, and yes i also do suck at those too.), half of it is that. The devs troll you with puzzles. It's truly a wild experience as it advertises, one of a kind. And yet, however.... This game wears, much like its heart,, its references, on its sleeve. If you are not into that kind of thing, you will probably be annoyed by this game. It also loves to delv into meta, as many puzzles and interactions are references to the UI of the game itself. Personally, I'm not wild about meta but I appreciate the ernestness here, so I'm willing to roll with whatever this game throws at me because every turn feels unexpected, fresh, funky, somber, and wildly intelligent, with boldly sincere ludonarrative choices, script and art direction. If you like Geno from super Mario Brothers, which, guess what, narrator here LOVES Geno from Super Mario Brothers, this is functionally the game you've always wanted that Nintendo could never make because Square has held Geno hostage in some kind of underground torture facility since 1995. Turns out they were rather right to do so, because when that puppet is out serving a higher authroity, he can be quite dangerous. Narrarively it borrows much from its sources but I would argue there's proof the writers have spent time thinking about the implications of their source materials worlds, and that reflection casts itself back to create this, experience that is wholly unique even if we know Red is Geno and "Gaster" (who was based on Uboa from Yume Nikki or princess mononokes forest spirits), and some kind of disco Marceline character who changes their identity frequently, skeleton brothers- well undead brothers, really - We have to remember in the creation and consumption of media sometimes, influences and archetypes are ever present and Everhood almost itself is a realm that would indulge in the idea of self referential material. It makes for this very Jungian experience of friendly archetypes we're familiar with, which works well with this setting of an immortal realm. Thats not to say the personalities we do meet aren't expounded upon - they are, heavily, and become uniquely their own. (Spoiler) if my theory is to be believed this world is a purgatory where people have made their own artificial vessels and as time has made them bored (though some seem to be having a good time) while typical strains of the Pinocchio myth are thrown in about questions of identity and death - and probably even more so towards Timothy Learys concept of the Ego Death, or the return to the collective soup of unconcious being. Undertale will probably always be a reccomendation even by its own reference to it so comparisons to it will be littered through here. It feels like the developers were emboldened by Toby Foxs spirit in game development (his creative energy is rather infectious) and shared many similar ideas, but this feels far more aimed towards a maturer audience (references to the things I mentioned in the trigger warning list) and focused on achieving this feeling that its predecesors have as well. Yume nikki. Lisa. Earthbound. Toby's games. super Mario rpg in its humor, Cat Soup in its psychedellic depressive vibes, all this cool indie cult classicy kinda mash up soup.  bizarre antics and then these characters who have surprising depth the further you go. It has been 6 years since Undertale came out, and the developers for Everhood have called a lot of the "what ifs" that fans of that game ask, an answer in their own game. (What if No Mercy was forced, for example? What if going against destiny is the wrong thing to do? Why is Death such a Bad Thing? etc!) And the further along you progress, the smarter the story gets, the more complex the narrative threads and characters. This game knows how to write compelling literature and that wasn't an element I expecting but god am I so glad for it. Literally my pea brain saw Red's design flipping around some frets on a streamers videocapture (shoutout to based fellow tampa native Charles White, thank you for being witty and having good taste and your Floridian comisery.) one night and went "oh i like." But the experience I got in exchange was, so, so much more than that (but the tetris effect won't let that image disappear from my eyelids quite yet haha.) I hear there are multiple endings and one requires a 3 hour long trek. I'm not done with the game at the time of reviewing. You bet your sweet ass I am going to find out the Ultimate Truth. I found a way to deal with some of the bullshit in other games, I may not be great at games but I want to see whatever imagery these guys put on screen so it compels me to seek out all the alternative routes. I am going to be following these developers projects very closely. If this is their debut, their next project will be ... ... I would hate to force expectations, like if you just made a magnum opus like this it'd be perfectly alright to retire, but I just once again want to say thank you to the developers for putting your heart on display for the world to see. I see it. I have dealt with struggles similar to the ones in the stories this game articulates about anxiety and depression, existentialism and dread, dissociation and all the heavy themes that were risky to include narratively - I'm certaintly glad you took the risks you did. May update this review as I get further along the story but yeah. Tl;dr: haha pinocchio myth done well make brain go brrr. 9.99999999999998/10. I am taking an infitisimal fraction of a point off because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spider in the monster maze. that thing was abhorrent, but I won't let it deter anyone else who wants to play.

Tumblr media
as the weekend winds down, we hope you’re having a great sunday so far ! it’s so, so exciting to see everyone’s amazing dev posts in the tag - we can’t wait to see your characters in action. and now, without further ado, here’s pt. 2 of our species reveal, with demons, cambions, and sirens !
demons.
overview the physical representation of sin, insidious creatures of darkness. they are known by many names and in many forms, but perhaps the most well known is the abrahamic name: demons. a name that inspires feelings of fear and disgust, a name that invokes images of the most vile creatures one could imagine, a name they have taken for themselves out of mere convenience. although many mythologies express the belief of a hierarchy or all powerful greater leader, the truth is that they have no such thing. darkness incarnate cannot and will not be governed or controlled, and neither will they. the underworld most demons were created in the vast emptiness of the underworld. this realm is not made up of fire and brimstone like most legends suggest and is instead an opposite mirror to our reality - imagine if we lived under a veil of darkness, imagine no color. this is where the corrupt souls of those affected by violence or trauma come to reside; this is where you’re sent if you sell your soul to a demon, where exposure to the underworld’s atmosphere is what creates demons as we know them. it is very rare that a soul existing within the underworld stays a human soul for very long. the underworld is a realm completely engulfed in thunderstorms and void. because of the unpleasant atmosphere most of its residents are literally dying to escape, but only the strong can pull through the riptide that the winds of the underworld create between other realms. physiology they’re souls that have been marked by darkness, torn apart by the winds of the underworld and made completely undistinguishable from the humans they once were. this does not mean that they no longer carry any humanity – but for most, emotions such as love, loyalty and sympathy are disfigured and their morals skewed. when not in their corporeal form demons appear as a black cloud of smoke, making it incredibly easy for them to travel or inhabit a human body. they cannot take up residence in a human body for long without complications – even binding spells are only temporary. demonic possession is as it has always been portrayed – grotesque, dangerous and normally deadly. in fact, demons don’t need a human body to inhabit or even to walk on earth, as they’re both corporeal and incorporeal their solid form is the appearance they held at any age before their death.  however, thanks to magic they’re able to make minor changes to their form. what is most notable about demons, are their pitch black eyes which appear when provoked or sensing danger. abilities a demon’s power is limitless due to infernal magic. they pull all of their energy from the underworld, making them able to do nearly anything as long as it is derived from dark magic. possession, in reality, is mostly smoke and mirrors. it is rare for demons enter the vessel of a human as it is dangerous for both souls involved. most demons cast a sort of maddening illusion over humans – entering their brain through telepathy and causing them to hallucinate. those with weakened inhibitions are easy for demons to target and will them into sin. with enough power a demon can make just about any mortal or weaker non mortal their victim. wishes are granted by demons, but this most often ends with indentured servitude toward the demon. no one is sure what makes a demon able to cut into the fabric of fate it is but their most terrifying quality. forget the curses and the dark magic, a demon can make just about anything happen just so long as they have a soul to use.
weaknesses exorcisms are not to only rid a human of whatever demonic presence has control over them. with the right exorcism it can send a demon straight back to the underworld. of course, they’re always capable of crawling back out and exacting revenge so this may not be your best line of defense. holy water will deter a demon and burn their skin upon contact but will not kill or maim them. other ways to banish a demon or protect against them are enchanted sigils and spells that can only be completed by experienced witches and fairies. they’re the same species who are able to completely destroy a demon and tear them from eternal life. when a demon is completely extinguished the place of their death is also destroyed leaving behind a dark energy that invites death and chaos.
cambions.
overview cambions can only be conceived through a male demon and a female human.  some say that the cambions are beautiful – but there’s one thing we know – they're most certainly sinful. their lineage alone is a mixture of great power, known to strike fear in the hearts of many other creatures. due to their human appearance and mortal status, cambions have been able to glide through life without the need to “blend in”. a hidden secret resides in the history of the cambion race, having constructed nefarious societies and tyrannical governments from the julian claudian dynasty to, as rumors have it – even a few u.s presidents. most who know what they are absolutely hate to hide who or what they are and in the end, it’s just easier to hide in plain sight. physiology a cambion’s birth in the first hour is a still birth, and afterwards the creature begins to draw energy from the mother; this part is necessary in order for the creature to obtain vitality. If not abandoned entirely, cambions completely exhaust their mother’s lifeforce no more than a few years after their birth. because of this, cambions are often lost in adoption or foster systems without any knowledge of what they are. due to their lack of knowledge, instead of siphoning energy for survival, they often end up sick and dying before the age of 6. If they do survive, it is during their early teenage years that a cambion begins to experience their demonic nature in the form of depression, mood swings, and often a strong attraction to violence. cambion children often act out, especially for those who still lack the knowledge of what they are. once they’ve reached maturity, there is no hiding their above average temperature (normally about 101), or their eyes that darken to a blood red when in the presence of celestial magic, when in danger, or when provoked. abilities energy is extremely important to a cambion, it’s what keeps them alive, it’s what feeds them. so they have to pull energies from humans around them; which can result in death. they must learn to control their siphoning, or else they’re out of luck as far as human lovers and friends go. they can siphon magic, but only the infernal kind, and the same goes for what they can perform. a cambion particularly excels at fire magic, which is more dangerous when using infernal incantations or energies. they’re stronger and more powerful than a humans as well as slightly empathic, with an ability to sense certain emotions, such as apprehension, rage and sadness by touching a human. combined with their demonic urges, these abilities make cambions very dangerous creatures. weaknesses cambions are easily captured and weakened, especially when placed into a vulnerable state by making them emotional. by inciting powerful emotions, you can force a cambion to expend their energy completely until trapping them is entirely painless. they get their fill of energies around them, so the less you give them the less powerful they are. energies from different creatures can affect a cambion in various ways.  for instance, celestial magic can completely stop a cambion from using their abilities. killing a cambion also isn’t hard as they can die from a lack of vitality or starve; showing signs that they’re sick or becoming weak before eventually withering away. a cambion also isn’t impervious to death. just like their human half, they can die by serious wounds and diseases. essentially, a cambion is not immortal. after death upon death, a cambion instantly becomes a demon. they no longer have to siphon energy to live, but they’re also no stronger than other demons. thankfully, they’re spared a visit to the underworld, as their souls have already been torn apart enough by the demonic energy of their birth.
sirens.
overview the danger of a true siren cannot be captured by just a story, nor a rumor - they are in every sense of the word, predators. it is said they were once nymphs cursed by demeter, a story that can neither be confirmed or denied. sirens have been hunted since the middle ages, most notably in the 1700’s, a time when sailors and pirates perished at the hands of a siren's song. not only is their song deadly, they’re beautiful and alluring in every sense of the word, making it easy to get caught in a siren’s grasp. a siren’s love is all consuming, and most often a siren has no choice but to entertain their predatory nature and kill their partner. as you can imagine, relationships are extremely difficult for sirens, so many are left to resort to feeding only off of those they can sing into loving them for a night.
physiology rivaling the allure of fairies, sirens are arguably the most beautiful of all supernatural creatures. their natural beauty makes each siren incredibly attractive, but direct eye contact ensures that their prey stands no chance in getting away. their teeth are razor sharp, easily tearing through flesh and muscle with just one bite, yet their teeth are indistinguishable from human ones.  a siren also has a notably colder body temperature than humans, along with strength that matches that of a vampire. it doesn’t quite matter if a siren is born or turned; they all obtain their powers the same - by taking their first bite of human flesh. by doing so, their immortality takes hold, and their abilities are amplified. a siren must then continue to eat flesh for as long as they live; those who consume more flesh are stronger, but in turn, lack emotional empathy.
abilities to control their hunger is a power in itself. they're often plagued by an intense desire to consume human flesh that cannot be satisfied by animals alone. through their touch, they are able to imbue a human with oxytocin, making the victim so enamored  with a siren, they’ll do or say anything for them.  a siren’s song, is also the most dangerous weapon. most of their voices are naturally beautiful – your favorite popstar, for example. might be a siren -  but if the particular tone of a siren's song actually heard by human ears, it’ll render the listener completely paralyzed, which often leads to death. a siren, when strong enough can also control weather in their area - when their emotions are heightened, they can induce rainfall or thunderstorms,
becoming a siren many sirens are born, but creating a siren is also possible. this occurs when a siren bites a human, poisoning them with enough venom to render them unconscious. once nearly incapacitated, the same siren must then eat their heart, and submerge them fully in either fresh water or the sea. upon the next rising of the moon, a new siren will emerge from the water - this new siren must take their first bite of human flesh within that very same day, or they risk death.

SavvyTech RP [Modded] {Factions} {1.12.2} {Serious Roleplay}
Overview:
(Mods remove if this isn't allowed)
Savvytech, the working in-dev name, is the combination of a community-written curated lore, Semi-serious post-apocalyptic role-play environment and a 1.12.2 mod-pack, all functioning under the same name. Focusing on tech-based mods with a sub-theme of large-scale combat and industry, we are just opening to the wider public now from our test groups and are seeking to expand the player-base through advertisements on several forums, with staff more than eager to answer any questions available. We are by no means a professional team, like those operating for several years without major issue, but we are a passionate one, and I personally emphasize a community-staff communication and relationship above all else, building our foundation on a strong open-communique between any players and staff. If i had to capture the essence of what makes our focus unique, its the following adage, which i try to run all facets of the community on.
"The player has an equal if not inferior obligation to uphold and maintain the rules and regulations of the community to the staff/administrator/owner, who has the superior obligation to ensure that the services provided are satisfactory to the player, and available sufficiently to the community."
Disclaimer: To this effect the server, discord and community are all run strictly along guidelines which are consistent with the Mojang EULA, Curseforge guidelines and an active staff team who consistently ensure that the community remains free of any toxicity, uninterested parties and otherwise players detrimental to the experience/community.
Role-play:
I personally come from many years of DND campaigns and 'serious' Minecraft RP servers, and this can be seen in my tendency to write in-depth lore, character applications and the general seriousness of tones in the Roleplay context. However this isn't so necessarily enforced, and light-RP is the general norm among players. Both the discord forum and the server are open to those wanting to RP , within the relevant channels on the former, however it isn't forced in gameplay or the discord.
Setting:
The year is 2319, almost 300 years into our future and man kind has been blasted by a catastrophic
thermonuclear event. The present takes place almost 80 years after the bombs fell, proceeding waves of bio-weapons, radioactive release and toxic decay. The world we knew is gone, but there is a hope... Mankind left the seeds to its rekindling in many places, hoping that with redundancy would be an assured immortality by design. The nature of conflict however, is that it is not always so rational, or intermittent. From the sky drop great iron men, the scions heralding the return of the long dead gods of science and logic, upon the ground, and indeed beneath it are the twisted remnants of a society leveled by atomic fire and contorted in the death-throes of a radioactive contagion - Mutants. On foreign worlds, civil wars and similar apocryphal endings have met the seeds of man, and we know look on to the final moments of an interplanetary golden age, will humanity fall that final step into the abyss, or will they grasp onto a thread, and pull themselves once more from this grimdark into the light again?
With a standing Wiki, and over 20'000 words in curated and canonized lore, the focus extends beyond the will of the writers with an open submissions system, adapting and canonizing elements suggested by the community, with such extensively written branches of lore as a race of sentient mutant Mermen in the pacific ocean, the 'city of blood' - housing ancient cybernetic vampires, Cosmic entities of unimaginable power stemming from an energy rift in what was the UK, and thousands of words of adopted lore regarding factions of player design and import.
The Fundamental focus of the server and story-line and arc is the factions emergent in this post-apocalpse world, with a total of 6 'canon' spots for factions, four of which have been successfully written and filled with submissions open for the final two, these factions will dictate the precise nature of the story arc and themes presented with the emergent politics and their reactions to various events and developments in the global arc, the story is for the most part, written by the players. Currently the following factions have entered the fray :
The Ghost Legion:
A remnant of something once greater, this neo-soviet empire of space stations and vessels in orbit around earth has begun landfall in the hopes of recapturing their mother planet, they come with the iron will and singular focus of the red nation, and intend to subjugate all of man in an attempt to bring us back from extinction.
The Collective of Mercurial Researchers:
A desperate escape, a city of genius's and prodigies and a battered stripped-down cruiser hull, these are the base elements, what remains is the story to be told. The CMR are the survivors of the Prometheus Research base who made it back on a last ditch decades-long attempt to escape their slowly frying research station. Many expired on the journey hope, their ship systems slowly failing and causing power outages in cryopod life support, but those that did make landfall intend to rebuild with the democratic vision of the pre-bombing world, combining a drone security force and data cores housing schematics for thousands of experimental designs.
The Hive-Mind:
A collective of sentient robots living in the converted remains of an underground city-made-bunker, they live a benignly-racist isolation from their creators, following their logic-dictated religion of Alpha-Binary Stationlism, they hoard knowledge and artifacts, trading with any outsider willing to do business, but have thus far been spared of attack because of a cultured bacterial contagion which infects their surrounding region. It absorbs thermal energy exponentially and used it to reproduce, cocooning kinetic projectiles with a spongy exterior and dissipating energy discharges. It also is fatal to many breathing organisms, growing inside their longs as it slowly absorbs and lowers the internal body temperature.
The IAAF (Imperial Autocratic Australian Federation ) :
Once a series of military bunkers, the federation is the military heavy-weight of the remaining Terran peoples, forging a war-machine from advanced mechanized walkers and artillery, and boasting several distinct pan-Asian conquests outwards, they are not to be trifled with. Despite this, their soviet tendencies and imperial rule have caused a cultural and somewhat technological decline, resulting in a reliance on analogue, but inferior technologies to more forward-looking peoples.

State of Development:
The server and mod-pack are both in an Open Beta, pending official release with the canon map, however steps will be take to ensure any bases, items etc are not lost in the transfer over, so as to provide a continuity of play. The lore is being openly written and expanded on, and the staff team has available vacancies, although i'll only accept applications on discord via a DM. As of the moment, the official release will also see the finalization of all canon factions, and the implementation of the main story line, right now, the story is entirely emergent to the actions of factions and the individuals of said factions. Modpack updates occur on a nearly monthly basis, consolidating major changes over having continuous, minor updates.
IF you any have questions, feel free to hop on discord and ask :D
Whilst i understand this isn't strictly FeedtheBeast, the modpack and practices of the community are completely compliant to the stipulations of FTB, as far as i'm aware anyway, and in the future i intend to port this modded pack to either FTB or Twitch, or both dependent on where i'm at , at the time.
Thanks for Your time ladies , gentlemen and non-binary individuals,
Sincerely, Blockaxe333

Emotion, so fickle a feeling, one that could never truly been contained. For years and years I'd tried, stowed it away, being cold and calculating. I'd always lied to myself, believing that I was incapable of ever truly feeling, world that cultivated me having killed that long ago. It was not the truth, reality was I did so to avoid being hurt. Pain could not come if I didn't feel, at least that was my rational. All walls come crumbling down however, nothing is forever.
School had whittled me away, made me promises that I didn't need to be afraid any longer. In some cases these promises were false, such as dreams of a family, but not all. Love and friendship were real, tangible entity I could feel with my entire being. Trust existed and was not a mere word that meant little. Wouldn't be a stretch to say Lucille and Devanea helped change me, opening me to the ability to be myself. They brought out a side of me that few would ever see, soon, they may lay claim to being the last so do so.
For I was unfortunately correct on one thing, emotions were a weakness, there to be exploited. For years I had done so in my line of work, was near fitting that the table's would turn, my end being brought forth because I'd let my wall down, allowing others passage inside. Now I had to decide if I retreated further inward or attempt to quell the flames engulfing the sanctuary of my heart.
Answer would have easily been flee inward, laying low until it was clear to poke my head outward. My life was more valuable than that of another. They were just another pawn used to protect the queen. Only this time things were different, a true queen didn't discard pieces on a whim, they cared for each and every one of them. Devanea was my best friend, a person that was deathly loyal, willing to sacrifice anything to keep me safe, even her own marriage.
She wouldn't be in this situation if it wasn't for me. They'd gone after her because they knew we were close, knew it'd be another strike against my psyche. My allies would be taken out one by one until only I remained, then and only then, would I be slain as well. They wanted me to suffer for my indiscretions, for daring to stand against them. Pleasure would not be allotted to them. Time for sending messages was over, now was time for closure.
Fight was going to be taken directly to them, act they would not expect. They knew my allies had dwindled to four, at most, however in disparate times, even old alliances can be rekindled, if only for a short time. Caleb and Elle would help protect Dev, ensure she made it out with her life. As would Dev's wife, Bekah. Thoughts of me should not matter, only the protection of Dev. If they thought otherwise, they'd only reveal themselves to be worse than me.
For as soft as I'd become, only one emotion prevailed over all the others, one that had simmered within me for months, now taking full hold of my body. Rage, pure and unbridled rage. Only one thing could satiate it, death of those hunting me. I didn't care how long it took nor how many bodies  stacked up, Richard and his employer would no longer be a blight on this world. Then and only then, would both Lucille and Dev be safe.
That quest started here, at the restaurant that began it all, only locale I knew Richard frequented. It was time someone knocked on his front door without fear. Death no longer frightened me as it once did. My life was forfeit long ago, gods were just choosing now to collect. All I could do was make it as difficult as possible for them.
Hand gripped firmly around a glowing red stone, magical energy shooting through my body like a volt of energy charging a battery. That's all my body was now, a vessel that held the key to ending this. With this power, nothing could touch me, nothing could stand in my way. I could move mountains and shape worlds, but for now, I'd settle for burning this building to the ground.
I kicked open the door, entering the establishment with my face in broad view. I wasn't hiding anymore, they'd know just who they were dealing with. They'd look me square in the eyes and know who won.
“Where the fuck is he?!” I yelled, not giving a shit about the couple and two families eating inside. If they knew what was good for him, they'd get the fuck out of here.
One of the waiter's turned towards me, staring with a look of horror. Tray in his hand started to waver, dishes atop it chattering together. Others were no more filled with vigor, looking between each other as if waiting for something.
That something made itself apparent before my mouth could open again. An arrow whistled through the air, striking me in the right shoulder, sending my body stumbling forward. Arrow went through and through, leaving a hole in my shoulder, blood gushing from it. Hand gave a brief twitch before raising up to that same shoulder. Blood from the wound funneling into it like a vacuum, flesh trying to stretch over the area, enough to abate the bleeding.
Whirling around I slammed my hand against the wall, blood spreading out to form a sigil. It flashed, thick and jellylike substance spreading over the doorway. “No one fucking leaves until I say so.”
A worker near the back of the restaurant tried making a break for the kitchen. My eyes glowed a deep crimson, veins along my arms becoming pronounced, darkening in color. Stone swirled in front of me as if it were a pen on a parchment, creating another sigil in the air. Hound straight from a nightmare leaping from it. It's fur was gone, leaving the entire inter workings of it's body on full display. Saliva poured from it's mouth as it stared at the man.
“Bring me back an arm.” I stated coldly, watching as the hound sprinted to the back in a blaze. Wasn't long before you could hear a scream followed by panicked voices and finally a series of gun fire. Eyes narrowed, hand further constricting around the stone. Gunfire soon ceased.
Vision turned towards the others. “Start talking.”
“We don't even know who you are. Just let us go.” Matriarch of a family of four exclaimed, arms curling around her two youngest children.
“Then I wasn't talking to you, was I?” I glared at her. “Keep your mouth shut and your kids won't have to end up orphans.”
“E-even if you kill us, you won't make it out of here. S-seraph will be all over this place. You'll have nowhere to go.” Waiter with the platter spoke with the confidence of a man trying to ask out a girl well out of his league.
I walked closer, right arm feeling a growing numbness to it, same leg beginning to drag across the ground. “If that's the case, why not just tell me what I want? Or do you fear your wrong?”
Question caught him off guard, rebuttal fumbling out of his mouth. “Be-because I don't have to tell you anything.”
“Your right, you don't.” I reached out, grabbing him by the wrist, eyes flaring again. He struggled at first, trying to rip his arm away, but my hands were a vice, nails clawing into his skin. His eyes started to go glassy, feeling the effects of what had to be poison from the tip of the arrow. Wasn't enough to kill him, at least not yet.
His other arm swung meekly around, fist more slapping across my face than striking it. “What did you do to me?!”
“I'm fixing you.” Blackness covered my hand, loud chattering heard as it spread outward, scaling up the man's arm. He took two deep panicked breaths inward before collapsing to the ground. Brood of shadowed scarabs feasting on what remained of his flesh.
Eyes flicked to the last remaining staff member. “Do you value your life at all?”
“I-I don't know anything, h-he just told us to act na-normal, that it-it would be handled. We... I'm just trying to make a living you know?” Man looked ready to have a heart attack, eyes looking across the room as if pleading for help.
“Does it look handled?” I bent to a crouch, right arm stretching out, letting a few of the scarabs skitter upward.
“Wha-what your doing isn't go-going to solve anything. It-it will bring cha-chaos.” Man grabbed a steak knife off the table, holding it out like he was going to stab me with a rounded edge.
Scarabs helped the process of sealing my wound, using their bites as a makeshift staple, keeping the fresh and flimsy new layer of skin in place. First few times were painful. Now, it felt like a bliss, ever present reminder that I am in fact not dead.
I rose up to my feet, smiling warmly at the man. “Winds of chaos fuel a fire that shall burn this empire to the ground. And from it's ashes, it will begin anew.”
Kitchen doors swung open, mangled corpses of what had once been the cook staff shuffling out. Many had chunks torn from their flesh, others had shards of what looked like bone perforating their chest. One even had the lining of his intestines trying to flee his stomach. All of their eyes were lit with a similar red.
When the flames died down, perhaps I could have the life I yearned for, one of love. Embers still very much burned however. Now wasn't the time for love, only violence. None would be spared.

Get The Royal Feel Visiting The City Palace Museum in Jaipur
One of the grandest destinations in India, Jaipur is such a place that is always vibrating with joyous occasions and festivities. And one fabulous place, in particular, is the City Palace in Jaipur where you’ll be compelled to go back in time after seeing all the treasures of the bygone days. Despite Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, you’ll also see the influences of Hindu Temples in the Mubarak Mahal, one of the royal dwellings of the City Palace. Here, you can stroll along the corridors of Chandra Mahal and observe the intricate design of different royal courtyards. And if this is not enough, you can check out the Pritam Niwas Chowk and its attractive four seasonal doors, it is pretty impressive. But wait there’s more which we will discuss as you scroll down.

Everything you need to know about the ‘City Palace Museum of Jaipur’
The City Palace now turned into a Museum is one of the best places to spend a day in Jaipur and what’s awesome is that the other half of the palace, Chandra Mahal is still the resident of Jaipur Royal Family. The entire complex contains various sections of royal residences like the Mubarak Mahal, Pritam Niwas Chowk, Chandra Mahal, Diwan-I-Khas, Diwan-i-Aam, Baaghi Khana, Maharani Palace and more. My intention is not to bore you by describing a detailed history of each royal residencies in the City Palace of Jaipur but perhaps a brief knowledge won’t hurt.
A 19th century-built Mubarak Mahal has several architectural influences of Islamic, Rajput, and European styles. It was built as a reception centre now turned into a Textile Museum. The ground floor of Chandra Mahal on the west end is open to the public that has been converted into Art Museum. It contains old photographs, paintings and mirror work. It is a seven-storey building that also is an official resident of the former royal family. The inner courtyard Pritam Niwas Chowk is famed for its four seasonal gates namely, the Lotus (Summer) Gate, Green (Spring) Gate, Rose (Winter) Gate and one of the four displays 3D like images of the peacock at the Mor (Peacock) Gate.
These may be some of the dwellings to adore but out in the courtyard, Diwan-i-Aam treasures two artefacts that stands 1.6 metres tall as the Silver Urns. These silver vessels that weigh 340 kilograms have made their ways to be the world’s largest silver vessels recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Another major attraction that is a must visit is the Diwan-E-Khas located in the courtyard of Mubarak Mahal. Nonetheless, the City Palace also has other worth visiting places like the Maharani palace that treasures a unique scissor-action dagger and Baggi Khana that features old carriages and chariots.

The Palace Museums: It’s all about the precious treasures of yesteryears
By all means, the City Palace is a famous attraction every traveller must visit during their trip to India. And inside the palace features royal artefacts like the collection of the ornaments, dresses, paintings and weapons. Basically, there are three sections of museums that reside under the roofs of mahals adorned with fresco walls and ceilings.
Textile Museum
The Textile Museum located in Mubarak Mahal is all about the garments and ornaments worn by the royal family of Jaipur. And one fascinating fact I came across is that the dresses of the Queens and Princess were so heavy that they required a couple of maids to help. Besides, a noteworthy garment to see is the one worn by Sawai Raja Madho Singh II. It is said that, this 4 foot wide garment contained 190-metre long cloth. Another must-see attraction is the polo uniform worn by Sawai Raja Man Singh II. The variety of textiles you get to see here are the silk saris, sanganeri block prints, Kashmiri Pashminas and embroidered shawls. There is also a handicraft museum that is installed with all the royal wares.
Arms Museum
The Arms Museum is another best place in the City Palace to explore the ancient arms and weapons. This museum is located in the Maharani palace that displays a collection of arms like the pistols with two, three and four barrels and also daggers. But these are just some noble mentions. A 15th-century weapon, the scissor-action dagger, used during war campaigns by the Royals is also displayed followed by a particular weapon which is infamous for disemboweling a victim when it is withdrawn from his/her body. Here, one specific attraction that captivates all visitors is the sword gifted by Queen Victoria to Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh during 1835–80. Throughout the museum, guns that also serve as walking sticks, small canon, shields are beautifully decorated that highlights the beauty of the museum.
Art Museum
The Art Museum is amongst the most visited site in the palace to witness the 3D painting of Sawai Ram Singh, India’s first photographer. It is said that no matter which side you stand, you’ll notice his eyes staring right at you, creepy yet interesting. The Art Museum features many old and rare photographs clicked by him and also a series of paintings of Sawai Ishwar Singh completely finished using his fingers. Apart from miniature paintings, this museum also installs ancient texts, Kashmiri shawls, embroidered rugs and carpets. To see what else you can find here, visit Diwan-E-Khas the next time you visit the City Palace.

In Addition
Baaghi Khana
Baaghi Khana is another must visit place if you love automobiles, here, you’ll find a series of vintage cars, European cabs, old carriages and palanquins. The most interesting attraction here is the mahadol, which is a traditional chariot used to carry the idols of Hindu Gods. Ideally, these mahadols are also used to carry queens and brides during Indian weddings. Baaghi Khana also treasures the Victoria Baggi that was gifted to the Maharaja in 1876 by the Prince of Wales.
Govind Dev Ji Temple
Located in the palace complex itself is the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. This 18th-century structure is located in the midst of the palace garden. The temple has beautiful Indian paintings and dangling chandeliers clinging above the golden ceiling. Aartis are still conducted every day here and is considered one of the pilgrimage places to the Jaipur royals to conduct rituals.

Where can you eat and shop after witnessing the palace’s attractions?
Food: Of course, in between sightseeing, you’re going to get hungry, but you can’t exit the premises and return again. So, to make things better for the visitors, there is an in-house restaurant at the City Palace named ‘Baradari’ that offers delicious meals to the visitors.
Shop: This place also features ‘Palace Atelier’ which is a perfect place to shop for heritage crafts and clothing. The products you’ll find here are all handcrafted and the money from the items bought will help in supporting the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation. It helps build the livelihood of the rural communities in India especially women.
