One escaping said responsibilities by falling down, the other going up. Bubbline’s mutually-assured destruction, implied by Gumlee’s kiss. Queer obsession ending in death, and queer love, fulfilled, shown as two sides of the same coin. The implication that these two will be together, forever, no matter the universe.
