Work Experience Response
I have had another response from a photographer offering me two opportunities to assist him on two different types of shoots:
“Hello Tara, thank you for contacting myself regarding work experience within the photography business.I would first ask how old you are the reason being insurance I hold has an 18 years and older restriction. This is my choice to keep the costs manageable. If you are 18 or older then great, I would want proof though, sorry about this. Possibly come and have a chat with your teacher and certainly your parent/s. I am at the moment building up the business and although I do have some work it isn't yet enough for myself to be full time.I also work at a printers between my assignments.I am not sure how much work experience you would like, ie full time or now and then to fit around your studies. Most of the work I have at the moment is at the weekends, weddings and photo booths.I have the following booked events. Photo booth, Saturday 20th April, Churchillian pub Portsdown Hill 7pm-9pmThe main part of this work is setting up the studio lights and getting the white balance correct because I print instantly there and then. There is quite a lot of heavy lifting, lights and printer etc. I wouldn't expect you to lift the really heavy things but setting up is certainly part of this type of work.I would certainly let you take some of the photos, it is almost point and shoot photography, almost, there is some technique because I don't want to waste time cropping at the print stage. That is also where you can learn how to set up the printer and laptop and use the software cropping if needed and then printing. Wedding Saturday 4th May Portsmouth registry and then the reception at Havant working men's club.Starting at the bride to be home in Bordon, then to Portsmouth and finally to Havant, a very long day.Nothing really heavy but bag looking after, off-camera flashlight putting up and moving, and off course, you can take some of the candid photos. Saturday 8th June wedding Fort Nelson Portsdown Hill, all day.Bride preps in Portsmouth and then to the Fort for the rest of the day. Same duties as 4th May and a chance for you to take candid shots. Saturday 15th June 7 pm 21st Birthday party photos. This is probably the easiest job of them all for me, however, if you are not used to using flash then this can be and often is a nightmare. It consists of me walking around taking photos as and when and keeping an eye out for the unexpected. This would be good for you to learn how to use on-camera flash, not the little pop up on your camera. I have spares. You would find here an ideal opportunity to learn this skill without fear of presenting rubbish photos to a client, something I wish I had had the chance to do back when. Wedding Saturday 22nd June, Hawk Conservancy Andover. All day, same duties as other weddings plus the chance for you to take candid shots. Wedding Saturday 6th July The Square Tower Southsea, all day.Same duties plus back to their house for reception and wedding singer photos in a marquee. Wedding Saturday 28th September, Newbury Berkshire, all day I have other work I am waiting for people to get back to me of course and I am always quoting for new work. I am not sure exactly what you are wanting of course. I also do not know if you have your own transport.I wouldn't leave you out of pocket but as you can see I am sporadic at the moment with work and although happy to help you learn any monies would be for pocket expenses.I can if it was suitable pick you up or if you were able to get to my place, I live in Portchester and am a 20-minute walk from the train station, up a hill :-( Anyhoo I will leave this info with you, I do have your phone number you gave me.However, I think it best you have a read and think through and put together any questions you have and give me a call or of course email back and let me know what you think. All the best,Simon Phelan”.
I replied:
“Hello Simon, Thank you so much for replying to me so quickly. I am 19 and have attached a photo of my ID as proof. I am willing to do as little or as much work experience as you would like to give me. My allocated time for this class, however, is between 8/4/19- 14/5/19 however if we work well together I wouldn't mind assisting you to gain experience on my own time too. I would be very interested in assisting you on the 20th April for your event and would be very willing to help set up, take photos and would love to learn how to use the software and printers. I would also be interested in assisting on the 4th May as the more experience I can get the better! My mother is getting married next year and has asked me to be her photographer so it would be amazing to learn on the job alongside you to learn this aspect of the trade. Thank you so much for these opportunties and I look forward to hearing back from you soon, Tara Barton-Leigh”

The Planning Step of Building a Warehouse
[ad_1] Here are 20 step by step tips and ideas to help you create the warehouse you need at a price you can justify. From industrial tents which retract, through to portal frame structures with loading docks and conveyors to fully equipped and racked out facilities. This is the place to start your successful design and build warehouse project. Building a warehouse that works for you requires thought and experience for the best results. There are huge choices in warehouse design and construction with a range of models and equipment, one of which will be right for you. This step by step outline guide will alert you to some of the fundamentals to ensure you manage your warehouse project effectively right from the first step you take.10 warehouse disasters to avoidPlan: The Professionals will keep you right? - Wrong, wrong, wrong! The professionals are not here to keep you right, they are here to carry out instructions and to take instructions - your instructions and then follow procedures that they have learned. Rule 1 know what you want or take what you are given. Read the small Print: Just because it is concrete it does not mean it is load bearing. Beware of clauses that state that it is up to you to ensure your structures are suitable for the installation. That means if it fails it is your fault. They mean it! Know the Regulations: You are very unlikely to be able to see your foundations. If you think you can you are probably looking at a floor. A concrete floor is about 250mm thick, it is the ground bearing pressure that makes the difference. You won't get this information by guessing but you will be required to account for it. Ignorance is Expensive: A foundation is up to 300mm below the floor, usually at the base of a major load bearing member like the frame of a building. They are up to 1500mm cubed and weigh over 1000kgs each, for an average warehouse. Don't make Assumptions: Don't presume that because it is a big steel column or quarter of a meter of concrete that it will take anything you want to hang or stand on it, it won't. So don't have afterthoughts about suspended gas fired heaters, cranes or mezzanine floors - after thoughts are expensive. Remember people who quote will normally put the lowest price in to get the work, with a specification that matches. The only thing you can safely assume is if it is not specifically mentioned it is specifically excluded. You should assume architects will have very limited knowledge of technical equipment, they are good with materials and creating attractive space, they don't spend 10 years qualifying to design a standard portal frame building, but they will make it look a little more pleasing on the eye and design fish ponds in the reception or decide to route assembly conveyors through the administration offices, they are full of creative ideas (BMW)! Understand the People Limitations: Be sure you know what you are going to put in this building. You may not need an architect at all, a structural engineer will provide the right materials and advice to achieve the creation, a builder will erect it and none of these people are specialists in industrial applications. They are specialists in only their respective work. You need a materials handling engineer or a specialist in your industry, or both. In other words pick an appropriate project leader. What you get for your Money: The cheapest steel building will last 10 to 15 years before it needs attention Even modern cladding won't last forever, refurbishment is never cheap. Single skinned buildings are for sheep or goods which don't mind damp. PVC clad buildings will last 50 years with up to 4 cheap skin changes and still be in good condition - much cheaper than several coats of paint and a completely new outer steel insulated skin. Marquees are for parties or weddings. Industrial quality steel framed independent structures are the lowest cost, highest value asset you can own, you can take them with you and put them up anywhere. Think through what you want to do. Steel buildings can actually devalue your site. Be careful. Check things out properly: Don't use low budget builders or cheap buildings for high profile work that must comply to statutes, you won't have enough information to get it through building regulations and you might finish up paying for a great deal of unbudgeted and hidden cost. The time to get this information is day 1 before you pay. Never pay a penny for anything you can't see or own. Exercise caution with progress payments, there are many ways of safely concluding these transactions. Beware of hidden Costs: Classic unbudgeted and hidden costs that will torpedo your project include: poor ground conditions, not enough water, gas or electricity to service your building, long queues for service provisions, professional fees, local authority fees, landscaping and other local authority orders at the planning stage- e.g. lifts for disabled access, rateable car parking and a whole host of other hidden planning conditions. A basic list of about 30 in the UK, most of which you will never have heard of until they broadside your bank account. If you are in a heritage area you will need specialist advice. Unless you are a multinational, money no object company, be very wary of heritage tags, you might find your project hijacked by the local archaeologists for the next 5 years or turned into a nature reserve for great crested newts. Never max out your Budget with no spare Cash: Put a contingency of at least 50% onto your project if you are a novice, 20% if you know what you are doing and 10 to 15% if you hire an agent or professional to help you. Only a professional as cool as ice puts on 5% and then only if he has been doing the job all his or her life or you can sub out the whole thing to a principal contractor or construction company who will rake in a handsome margin for doing so, but at least you will have someone to sue to get what, after all, is your own money back.Warehouse planning - To Fee or not to Fee, that is the questionPenalty clauses are doubtful: I can give you a case by case disaster list involving ill fitting equipment, wrong sized buildings, complete project failures and a host of other horrors to scare you and don't think that penalty clauses will save the day, they won't and nobody will touch them if they are unreasonable plus there will almost certainly be a charge to you for them. Unless you have a datum point, a minimal position, planning out your warehouse is just going to be a slippery slope rather than that great improvement you want. How then do you make a positive start to get great value for money and at the same time achieve a memorable project that delivers beyond expectations? The principal concept and operating format: My first recommendation is to choose the correct equipment, this means your handling equipment. At this point I would suggest you find a materials handling engineer with a measured amount of grey hair. A mistake at this point will see you buy or build your warehouse the wrong size. Decide what your smallest stock size is going to be and find a suitable recording system to model a business system around. You can now plan out your warehousing equipment and systems including all the access equipment and the picking systems you will need. If you already have a warehouse or industrial unit this is your chance to improve, upgrade or replace - don't miss it! Firstly think about management logistics - quite apart from servicing and turning HGV's round in your yard, you could just subcontract the whole warehousing operation out or bring in professionals to help you set up. If you are a growing SME then try some of the big operators, they may lend you people to help you, especially if you are giving them traffic. For smaller operatives the most important thing is a good location, shorter distances mean less costs and more opportunities. Warehouses are governed by cubic volume. There are several ways to maximise this, too many to explore in this article but here are some basic warehouse planning concepts. Which of these statements do you agree or disagree with? (Answers at the end of this article)It is always cheaper to go up rather than out. Very narrow aisle (VNA) is the most efficient use of space. Mezzanine floors are best put up by the builder when the warehouse is built.. Second hand mezzanines are good value for money.. Pallet racking can be fitted in any warehouse application. If I have a heavy duty concrete apron in my yard I can bolt any steel warehouse straight on to it. I don't need planning permission for PVC clad tent buildings especially if this warehouse retracts. I don't need planning consent if it is only a temporary warehouse structure. You will always get a better job if you employ an architect to design and build your warehouse. 6 months is more than enough time to design and build a new warehouse.Understanding your professional appointments and what they do: Your unit of space and your unit of productivity, I guarantee, will govern the entire structure of your business - do you know what yours is? Modelling your business is the best way to iron out many of the problems you will encounter. By adopting such a method you will quickly see, step by step, just exactly how your project will fit together from equipping, operating and resourcing your entire warehousing operation, but how do you turn it into reality? A principal contractor will put everything you need together. Unless your project is over £5m you would probably be better off with an agent who works for you directly. Architects will project manage as will structural engineers, frequently working together to deliver a project. They do undertake such works as their bread and butter tasks but it is not usually so case specific. Warehousing involves systems and equipment that frequently requires specialist knowledge on such a scale that without it from the very beginning your project will have serious information gaps. Even the principal contractors employ these specialists as do the other professionals but for small projects you will pay more for these extra facilities if you assemble your advising team in the wrong way. A bit like going to the wrong doctor, who then decides to operate just because he is a doctor. Just like doctors it is really important to get the correctly skilled professional to handle your case.Picking the right Warehouse Equipment - What you need to knowForklift Trucks: A fork truck on average will handle about 125 pallets a shift - that is one every 3.84 minutes, there are all sorts of ways of modelling this information but if you are achieving anything like this ratio you have a very busy forklift driver.Racking: Racking can go up to 12m or so, many mills will cut it to any length you want. However 6m is often the standard height because they have to be painted and the paint ovens are vertical so that height is the governing factor. Pre-galvanised steel is always a good choice if you are having trouble with high one piece frames and want to avoid splicing costs. 6m is a quick turn round height and with frames this height you can store about 10 pallets in a 2.7m width or 15 euro pallets since they are 800mm wide.VNA (very narrow aisle): will have aisle widths down to 1,200mm. At this width your £40,000 to £60,000 truck will be guided, you can have 'man up' or 'man down' and you need a set down area for picked work and feeder trucks which are all extra operations. if this is the answer you can get very small bin picker systems which work very quickly, in very high density storage systems but these are usually big money items.Specialist Forklift Trucks: Articulated trucks now play a very big role and work in aisles of 1750mm upwards and need very little manoeuvring space. They will multi-task and have both electric and IC power units. There are two market leaders and a third contender who has a very considerable and experienced engineering resource across the materials handling industry.Money: Some dealers are very good at tailoring finances if there is pressure on cash - never let cash be a problem, remember this is just as much part of business management as your warehouse based business.Stock control: Once you have picked a good warehouse truck the racking is easy. However remember the unit of space I talked about earlier, this is when you need it. It defines picking, packing and shipping, not to mention profit. It dictates the nature of the warehousing operation. If your in unit is 6m x 500mm x 500mm and your out unit is 6m x 50mm x 50mm or sub divisions of the 6m cut down into smaller bits, then your storage and picking operation is governed by that. If you then have 4,000 stock lines, titles, colours, weights etc then you must do this for each variant.Warehousing and stock processing: Any processing of stock requires thought. Mezzanines are good people space and multi level/tier shelving systems also provide very high density, good organisational facilities. Work stations are not an afterthought and correctly specified and built are capable of putting their own cost back in to your bank every hour of the day.Remember to plan your lighting properly and think about good identification systems right from the outset. The more you can de-skill, the more efficient you will become, otherwise when Harry the warehouseman is off and is the only person who knows where everything is, you could have trouble. From new it is not hard to spend £1,000 per square meter by the time you are operational, half of which will be the shell, the land is extra. You can extend from under £280/sq.m. The shell only (above ground) will be around £180.00 of this. What sort of warehouse and where to build it: Avoid cheap buildings on different levels and slopes, they are cheap for a reason. Think about loading docks and pre-shipment preparations, you get much better rates from your contractor if he is in and out quickly. Trailers glued to dispatch bays only cost money. You can turn round HGV's in less time than the driver can make himself a cup of tea with the right equipment. How to create a Warehouse with a strong asset value: I doubt that any of the Yorkshire mill owners ever visualised their mills being divided up and selling for huge sums as luxury properties. It is usually cheaper to build up rather than out, however over 6m starts to get slow for forklift trucks and building sections get pricey too. It is possible to clad the pallet racking and turn it all into 'the warehouse' but unless you have an exact buyer it will be worth scrap value when you have finished with it, and you will lose value on the land due to the cost of reconstruction. Think though the cost of ownership. It goes without saying that payback times, function and design are critical but not as critical as thinking through "life after warehouse". In other words try to keep the build appeal as broad as possible. There are many good ideas and schemes about to help you. The more you can do with the warehouse, the more money it will hand back to you and that makes it less risky. This is also why I always consider limited fee appointments, pardon the pun, but this is my way of thinking outside the box!It is always cheaper to go up rather than out. Very often it is Very narrow aisle (VNA) is the most efficient use of space. It is dense but can be slower than other methods Mezzanine floors are best put up by the builder when the warehouse is build. Never for industrial applications - use specialists Second hand mezzanines are good value for money. Avoid. In 38 years I have yet to see one fitted properly, I have seen several condemned and one collapsed. Pallet racking can be fitted in any warehouse application. Providing you have level floors in good condition, which are of correct structure. Pallet rack can impose enormous point loadings. Avoid expansion joints. If I have a heavy duty concrete apron in my yard I can bolt any steel warehouse straight on to it. Extremely risky I don't need planning permission for PVC clad tent buildings especially if this warehouse retracts. You probably do I don't need planning consent if it is only a temporary warehouse structure. Yes you do, always check You will always get a better job if you employ an architect to design and build your warehouse. Not in my experience, but you will get a great job using limited fee appointments. A good agent will arrange this for you, 6 months is more than enough time to design and build a new warehouse. If you have planning consent and you know exactly what you want. From green field/brown field site 3 years is not leisurely! Two can be tight and one year is very good going indeed with absolutely no problems - Never rush it, it will just empty your bank account [ad_2] Source by Paul Casebourne https://www.buyherepayherebirmingham.xyz/the-planning-step-of-building-a-warehouse/

Your Guide to Choosing the Right Pop Up Gazebo
When it comes to outdoor events, gatherings, and even personal relaxation, a pop-up gazebo can be a versatile and essential addition to your setup. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, attending a market stall, or simply seeking some shade during a sunny day at the park, a pop-up gazebo can provide shelter, comfort, and a touch of style. In this guide, we’ll explore what a pop-up gazebo is, why you might need one, and the key considerations when buying one.
What Is a Pop Up Gazebo and Why Do You Need One?
What Is a Pop Up Gazebo?
A pop-up gazebo, also known as a pop-up canopy or instant canopy, is a portable and easy-to-assemble shelter designed to provide shade and protection from the elements. These structures are typically made with a durable frame and a fabric canopy that can be quickly unfolded and set up without the need for extensive tools or expertise. They come in various sizes, shapes, and designs to suit different purposes and occasions.
Why Do You Need One?
Shade and Sun Protection: Pop-up gazebos offer immediate relief from the sun’s harsh rays, making them perfect for outdoor gatherings, picnics, or as a comfortable spot for relaxation.
Weather Protection: Whether it’s a sudden rain shower or a scorching hot day, a gazebo can shield you from various weather conditions, ensuring your plans aren’t spoiled by the elements.
Versatility: Pop-up gazebos are incredibly versatile. They can be used for outdoor parties, camping trips, sporting events, craft fairs, and more. They provide a versatile and portable solution for a wide range of activities.
Branding and Promotion: For businesses, pop-up gazebos serve as excellent advertising tools. You can customize them with your company’s logo and branding, making them stand out at trade shows, exhibitions, and other promotional events.
What Do You Need to Consider When Buying?
Before purchasing a pop-up gazebo, there are several factors to keep in mind to ensure you select the right one for your needs:
Size and Dimensions: Determine the size you require based on the intended use. Consider the available space, the number of people it needs to accommodate, and the items you’ll place under it.
Frame Material: Look for a gazebo with a sturdy frame made of materials like steel or aluminum. The frame’s durability is crucial for long-term use.
Canopy Material: Pay attention to the canopy material. High-quality materials like polyester or vinyl coated polyester are waterproof and provide UV protection.
Portability: Consider how easy it is to transport and set up. Pop-up gazebos should be lightweight, compact, and come with a carry bag for convenience.
Stability and Anchoring: Check for stability features like weight bags, stakes, or sandbags. These will help anchor the gazebo securely, especially in windy conditions.
Customization Options: If you plan to use the pop-up gazebo for branding or advertising purposes, choose one that allows for custom printing or branding options.
Ease of Assembly: Read reviews and ensure the gazebo you choose is known for its ease of assembly. Quick and hassle-free setup is a significant advantage.
Pop Up Gazebo Options
When shopping for a pop-up gazebo, you’ll come across various options to suit different needs:
Standard Pop-Up Gazebos: These are basic models suitable for casual use like family picnics and outdoor gatherings.
Commercial Pop-Up Gazebos: Designed for frequent use, these are more robust and often feature reinforced frames and heavy-duty canopies. Ideal for businesses and market vendors.
Branded Gazebos: If you want to promote your brand, consider a custom-printed pop-up gazebo. You can personalize it with your logo and messaging for maximum visibility.
Hexagonal or Octagonal Gazebos: For a unique and stylish look, you can opt for gazebos with hexagonal or octagonal shapes. They provide a more distinctive and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
In conclusion, a pop-up gazebo can be a valuable addition to your outdoor setup, offering protection, comfort, and versatility. By considering your specific needs, the materials, size, and customization options, you can choose the perfect pop-up gazebo that enhances your outdoor experience, whether for personal use or business promotion.

With the autumn season fully rolling in I was kindly asked by Liam Barrie of The Marram Grass, If I would like to come over and join in a fungi foray day he had arranged with local expert Cynan from The Mushroom Garden of Snowdonia. It was Fungi day with a twist though there was to be a cook off afterwards using the days foraged finds. What better way to mark the season I thought. They had hand selected a true expert to head the day and take us on our tour of the local Newborough forest at Aberfraw in Anglesey, mushroom hunting. Plus he had promised his top Italian trained risotto cheft for a special post forage cooking demonstration of how to cook our days bounty afterwards.
All in all a pretty special event in my eyes. I didn’t quite know what to expect but north wales being north wales I packed my water proofs and headed down to their fabulous restaurant for a timely nine am meet. When I arrived the boys in they typical superbly organised fashion had laid out Anglesey apple juice and some coffee for us. We all introduced ourselves to our today fellow class mates and then we here formally introduced to our Teacher Cynan from The mushroom garden a true master in his field.
Cynan giving our morning debrief
Cynan I have met on one of his courses from Bethesda Snowdonia, is one of a kind. You rarely meet someone who is so intensely married and passionate about his vocation than this man, he oozes passion on everything Fungi- a real blessing to be around. If there was a professorship in all things Fungi he would no doubt be served with the highest accolades in the country. He is also charming and knowledgeable chap who has a way of making the complicated, uncomplicated which in the mushroom world is useful.
He gave a great into to us with printed off sheets while the coffees where knocked back and gave us a run down of what was expected of us and what we would in turn be expecting to find. Packed snacks where kindly provided by the Marram grass consisting of their home made flapjacks (delicious) Jones crisps and some Anglesey spring water. It never amazes me how much these boys at the Marram grass push for locally sourced products- it’s a real heart warmer for a true Welshman.
great start to the day!
Snacks provided by the boys
Then we headed out into the Anglesey showers, fully clad in water proofs and overheating within the first ten minutes. Cynan has the eyes of a hawk and within thirty paces had found some road side foraging material in the form of a parasol mushroom.
We continued on and followed the Anglesey coastal path route down to a side entrance within the Newborough Forest. Once in there Cynan explained that it was important to keep an eye on the type of trees as this gave some heavy clues as to what mushrooms to expect. Birch trees and Beech trees where two tree types singled out- but not much Beech existed in this pine forest so we settled to look for silver birch trees. The hedgerows where alive already and there was plenty of Sloes, blackberries, rosehips and elderberries if you where interested in some other foraging. Nettles, birch leaves, purslane where a sample of other leafy edibles I spotted as we walked about too.
Wild edible blackberries
Some wild sloes
More wild edibles
Cynan doing what he does best!
Identifying some mushrooms for us
Intermittently, Cynan would stop and prod in the forest and sure enough there would be a treasure find. It was like he was more looking for the habitat first rather than the mushroom, a testament of a true pro. Within a couple hours we had a basket of mushrooms (albeit) some where a little – but It was necessary that we also picked these so that we could identify the types of characteristics that we should remember to avoid when foraging on our own in the future.
Liam doing what he does best!
Cynan showing us anther specimen
Showing us different gill patterns to identify fungi
Its all about location, keep an eye where the Fungi are found..
With a healthy basket full of mushrooms we ambled back to the Marram grass with Liam Barrie (Front of house Marram Grass brother) being his also incredibly passion self en route. That’s one of the reasons I feel drawn to these two brothers, because of their infections passion for what they do, also their fun loving happy go lucky attitude is also a real blast to be around, its no wonder their restaurant is bursting at the seams. Speaking of which, the Marram grass will soon be expanding and taking on a new space in the near future- which will give their beloved little intimate dwelling a small boost to the next level- watch this space.
Our days forge
back at HQ identifying the Fungi
A closer inspection
Some of cyan’s previous days harvest
So we made our way back to HQ Marram Grass central station and peeled off our layers and poured another well deserved coffee and treat in the exterior marquee- all supplied by the Marrram Grass. Cynan had already got his text books out and was beginning to list the days finds and cross reference them with this text book so people could, get used to this style of identification. With all the samples laid out, he gave a great debrief of the days finds with some solid take home points outlined.
Getting some lessons in Cyan’s world renowned seasonings and how he makes them
Next Liam had quietly prised his head chef from the restaurant (right at peak lunch hour), the Chef was a calm as a cucumber considering he had just dealt with probably a hundred covers. Cynan Liam and the Chef then talked us through the type of Risotto dish that that they would be preparing, what type of rice, what type of seasoning (note- Cynan had kindly brought sample of his many mushroom dried seasonings – see here ) that the chef would be adding into the mix for the days cooks off. Some of Cynans previous days foraging was offered up to the table in the form of some beautiful Chantrelle mushrooms which where dispatched quickly into the dish. This was an excellent and valuable opportunity to see a true chef trained in some of the best Italian rice restaurants work him magic with our local produce. This is something I often get home super excited about with my days catch or forage on arriving home and then I hit a bit of a wall.. in that I don’t really know which way to take the produce to get the most out of it at that point. With Fish it’s a bit easier and as get better I’m able to be a bit more fluid with my approach, but my repertoire with mushroom dishes is at best limited. So this was a real winner for an idle chef like me.
Liam on filing duty during the cook off..
The chef carefully preparing the risotto
The chef calmly took questions as he effortlessly without measure created one of the most intensely delicious risotto dishes I have ever seen or tasted- no word of a lie- if I didn’t have to eat again that week- I was fine with that and if I wasn’t already sold on the idea of Risottos then I was now.. Generous helping of Cynans seasoning and whopping handfuls of Ptarmigan cheese where added to raise its flavours. The marquee fell silent for ten whole minutes as mouth watering spectators devoured the days harvest dutifully prepared by the chef.. Everyone had seconds and some even thirds. Then the chef quietly said his thanks and headed back into the inferno that musty be the Marram grass kitchen over lunch. Est Voila.
The smell of this was outstanding..
Est voila, the finished product from field to plate in 2 hours!
Some of the ingredients
Well that was a great day I thought. What really resonated with this style of course was that it felt like the loop had been closed. We hunted, we cooked, we ate. Happy people are always full people right?. Also I really like they way two passionate entrapreunes or skilled craftsmen come together to share their skill bases, you get this multiplier effect which always adds such great value, experience and happiness overall. Big win I felt all around.
Cyan’s world renowned products

The boys at the Marram Grass will be hosting more foraging courses throughout the year and you can keep an eye on what’s going on the foraging front on their website- here. They also have a very fun & active social media presence on facebook which I find great amusement in up keeping up to date with – check it out here
Cynan at Snowdonia mushroom garden you can find here and the list of his jaw dropping products and seasoning can be found on his website here. Cynan also runs courses on Berddgelert throughout the year and can be contact on his social media here or through his website above.

The Dos and Don’ts of a Custom Printed Marquee
When it comes to promoting your brand at outdoor events, trade shows, or even in your own backyard, a custom printed marquee can be an invaluable tool. These versatile structures not only provide shade and shelter but also offer a unique canvas to showcase your brand and message. However, to make the most of your investment, it’s essential to follow some key dos and don’ts when designing and using a custom printed marquee.
Go Big on the Logo
Do: Make your logo the centerpiece of your custom printed marquee. The goal is to create a strong and memorable visual impression, so ensure that your logo is large, clear, and placed prominently. People should be able to recognize your brand from a distance.
Don’t: Overcrowd your marquee with excessive text or graphics. While it’s important to convey your message, cluttering the space can make it confusing and less visually appealing. Remember, less is often more when it comes to design.
Add Some Colors
Do: Use your brand colors effectively. Incorporate your brand’s color scheme into the marquee design to reinforce your brand identity. Color can evoke emotions and help people connect with your brand on a subconscious level.
Don’t: Go overboard with too many colors or choose colors that clash. Stick to your brand’s established color palette to maintain consistency and professionalism.
Keep the Branding Message Short and Clear
Do: Craft a concise and impactful message that communicates your brand’s essence or the event’s purpose. Use bold, easy-to-read fonts that can be seen from a distance. Keep it simple but meaningful.
Don’t: Overwhelm your marquee with excessive text or complex messages. Remember that people often glance at marquees while passing by, so your message should be instantly comprehensible.
Be Creative
Do: Embrace creativity in your marquee design. Use eye-catching graphics, images, or taglines that resonate with your target audience. A creative design can make your marquee stand out in a sea of generic ones.
Don’t: Sacrifice clarity for creativity. Your message should always be the top priority. Ensure that any creative elements you incorporate enhance your brand’s image rather than detract from it.
Communicate with Your Marquee Provider
Do: Establish clear communication with your printed marquee supplier. Discuss your design ideas, preferences, and requirements with them. A reputable supplier will be able to provide guidance and ensure your design is faithfully reproduced.
Don’t: Leave everything to chance. Failure to communicate effectively with your supplier can lead to misunderstandings and unsatisfactory results. Regularly check in with them during the design and production process.
Choose a Printed Marquee Heavy Duty
Do: Invest in a heavy-duty printed marquee that can withstand various weather conditions and frequent use. A sturdy marquee not only protects your brand but also ensures longevity and reliability.
Don’t: Cut corners by opting for a cheap, low-quality marquee. Your marquee is a reflection of your brand, and a flimsy structure can damage your reputation.
In conclusion, a custom printed marquee can be a powerful branding tool when used effectively. By following these dos and don’ts, you can create a visually appealing and impactful marquee that helps your brand shine at any event. Remember that the key is to strike a balance between creativity and clarity while keeping your brand identity at the forefront. With the right approach and a reliable printed marquee supplier, your brand can make a lasting impression wherever you go.
