This is a very interesting question!

Anselm's obsessive tendencies are deeply rooted from the emotional scars of his childhood. His mother’s death at a young age shattered him, leaving him drowning in guilt, always wondering if he could’ve saved her. Sometimes, even blaming himself for her death.

But it was his father’s emotional abuse that twisted those feelings even further—cold, manipulative, and cruel, his father made their home a place of constant fear and tension. Anselm watched helplessly as his mother withered under the weight of that abuse, and when she died, he was left with a burning sense of failure and self hatred.

That trauma never left him.

So when he meets the MC, something snaps. The overwhelming need to protect the one his loves becomes all-consuming. Love, in his mind, becomes a dangerous obsession. He convinces himself that the only way to keep them safe is to control everything about their life—even if it means locking them away from the world, where no one—not even fate—can take them from him.

Well, Anselm is shy by nature, buuut he does have 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 fantasies of the MC because of his obsession~

He tries to be mindfully his with actions around the MC tho, worried he might scare them or think he's a creep...

But if MC decides to get freaky make the first move... I'd say Anselm would get his freak ON (｡・//ε//・｡)

He'd love the idea of mutual obsession, finally having the MC's undivided attention and love. Because he understands the MC's intense feelings, his biggest fear would be the MC hurting themselves or doing something dangerous out of love for him. He would go to extreme lengths to prove his devotion, so the MC doesn't have to.

2. What is his love language or What love language does he prefer?

Anselm's love language are usually expressed through acts of service and words of affirmation. His love for cooking would be one of his most genuine, heartfelt ways of expressing care for the MC. Cooking would allow him to control an aspect of the MC’s well-being—he’d make sure everything he serves is nutritious, comforting, and tailored to their preferences. He’d be very attentive to their reactions, watching closely for any signs of enjoyment!

Anselm can be quite shy at times, he has a quiet appreciate for physical touch from the MC. Although he might blush or look away when the MC initiates, he would secretly love it, finding comfort and reassurance in their touch. It would be a way for him to feel close to them without needing to express his feelings through words.

He also would deeply value quality time with the MC! he would cherish moments of quiet closeness, where the two of them can just be together, even if they aren’t doing anything particularly eventful.

3. How would Anselm react if MC wanted to marry him?

He'd pull out a ring from his pocket, ready to slip it onto the MC's finger right then and there!
