It took me a day after watching the film Elephant / Słoń (2022, dir. Kamil Krawczycki) to realise that when they still were just getting to know each other - Bartek already persuaded Dawid to Ride. On. His. Horse...

"Dla mnie wyznacznikiem pewnego pułapu, jakości czy klasy sztuki jest moment, w którym czytając, oglądając czy słuchając czegoś, mam dojmujące i jaskrawe uczucie, że ktoś sformułował coś, co przeżyłem albo o czym pomyślałem."

Bóg, a owszem, słucha. Ale nie tak szybko odpowiada.

Thanks to @celluloidrainbow for the polish movie I would not otherwise knew existed!👍
So there's a good recent Polish LGBT movie? with character not dying?! and with good sex scenes even?!? I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it! 😆
I wonder how common it is that the movie is decided to show less violence (only one guy is really agressive) than the director experienced himself? (Kamil Krawczycki and his partner were beaten by a group of five men). Well the truth is I do not like seeing movies with more severe violence shown and I'm probably not the only one... But maybe he wanted it to simply be more optimistic than reality? This country needs some hope🙄
Thinking about the mother character though... The kind that think "Let's talk!" is the perfect begginning for her monologue🤦 But you'd think seeing her son looking so genuinely happy this one single time would change her heart... You'd think😑 It's the problem with parents using and abusing their adult children that's far beyond LGBT theme
[SPOILER BELOW]
Nice that the happy ending is possible. Sad it has to be a run away from everything. Though sometimes there might be no other way to survive the life with constant emotional blackmail from you mother... And all is possible only thank to the friendly "old maiden" - good lady from the neighborhood who accepted her fate and is ready to sacrifice herself and "take care" of everything and everyone so that her young friend could find happiness... I love that lady, I wish her all the strength and I very much wish I could help people without sacrifying myself that way😑
I'm happy there's hope for the little doggie as well!❤

SŁOŃ (2022) Kamil Krawczycki Bartek runs a small horse farm in the mountains in Southern Poland. He has to become head of the family when his father leaves and his mother has a breakdown. One day their neighbour dies and his son Dawid comes to the village for the funeral. Bartek becomes fascinated by Dawid and his recklessness, and now this first love will force him to decide if he’s ready to choose his freedom over family obligations. (link in title)
