It's funny how my dad's side of the family deeply believes that if you don't get that One Specific Wedding Band for your reception, your marriage is going to fall apart.
#there was one pair that got married without them#a few years later they went through the messiest divorce I've ever seen#my aunt (from my mum's side of the family) had to go testify#I think they got divorced after like uhhhh 5 years of dragging one another to court???#anyways that uncle is now in prison for drunk driving so yeah#Polish people will be like 'I'm totally Christian' and then believe in every superstition possible#and participate in rituals stemming from old Slavic beliefs like it's nothing#etc etc it's honestly really funny#my maternal grandpa once disowned me for being a witch#almost did it twice actually#(I'm not a witch nor clairvoyant I'm just autistic lol)
