I read some people complain about pink floyd fans leaving the fandom, I may have the answer of why:

So, I have been a Beatles fan since I was a child. And there IS SO MUCH information about them.

Want to know what Paul was eating the third of February in 1962? DONE.

Do you want to know what the boys were doing at any given date? Done, you have it.

Photos? Thousands. Books? Thousands. Very intimate information? You can find facts everywhere.

Now Pink Floyd? It’s mostly a mystery. Their private lives, (other than what is out in a few books) photos? Idk I feel like if you’ve been long enough in the fandom you’ve seen them all.

I think people get tired (not of the music) but the lack of information that it’s out there.

What are your theories??

Le prime esperienze iniziai a farle alle scuole medie. C'era sempre qualche compagno di classe che mi chiedeva di scrivere per lui qualche verso, qualche pensiero da dedicare a qualche ragazzetta che gli aveva fatto girar la testa. Dopo un po' di tempo la mia fama travalico' le quattro pareti della classe e si diffuse in qualche altra classe della scuola. Non era qualcosa che mi rendeva fiero ma le remunerazioni mi portavano ad accettare. Sempre qualcosa di utile o di ghiotto, che so, una matita, una di quelle penne a 5 colori, una scatolina di liquirizie, una bella ciambella fritta. Qualcosa seguitai a scrivere anche durante gli anni di liceo. Cambio' solo il compenso, chi dava 500lire, chi 1000lire. Invece, ricordo bene l'ultima richiesta, quella di un certo Vicarelli, classe IV B, un bel ragazzo di famiglia benestante che voleva riconquistare la ragazza con cui aveva avuto una lite di poco conto. Fu l'unico a cui chiesi chiaramente il compenso: 10.000lire. Fu una di quelle cose particolari. Presi un mio vecchio 45 giri, una bella canzone d'amore e sul dorso della copertina scrissi:

Ti porterei sulle isole più belle, sui promontori dove si vedono le stelle, in luoghi magici dove potersi amare, comunque, sempre, insieme, dove si vede il mare. E invece sto male in questa mia stanza, adesso, dove ti amo senza il mare, senza le stelle addosso, senza la magia dei luoghi, dove ti amo senza averti accanto. Dove ti amo da solo...aspettando che mi perdoni.

Non so come ando' a finire quella storia ma li fini' la mia carriera di " onesto ruffiano"..con le 10mila lire comprai The Wall dei Pink Floyd ��
