Bettina von Arnim (the Countess of Arnim) (4 April 1785 – 20 January 1859), born Elisabeth Catharina Ludovica Magdalena Brentano, was a German writer and novelist.
Bettina (or Bettine) Brentano was a writer, publisher, composer, singer, visual artist, an illustrator, patron of young talent, and a social activist. She was the archetype of the Romantic era's zeitgeist and the crux of many creative relationships of canonical artistic figures. Best known for the company she kept, she numbered among her closest friends Goethe, Beethoven, Schleiermacher, and Pückler and tried to foster artistic agreement among them. Many leading composers of the time, including Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, Robert and Clara Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johanna Kinkel, and Johannes Brahms, admired her spirit and talents. As a composer, von Arnim's style was unconventional, molding and melding favorite folk melodies and historical themes with innovative harmonies, phrase lengths, and improvisations that became synonymous with the music of the era. She was closely related to the German writers Clemens Brentano and Achim von Arnim: the first was her brother, the second her husband. Her daughter Gisela von Arnim became a prominent writer as well. Her nephews, via her brother Christian, were Franz and Lujo Brentano.

For your neaopolitain (Fürst Pückler) Trio from the Rook Asks 💐 What is the relationship Rook has with their faction mentor? What was the moment they sent Rook away like?
Aaah, thank you for asking about my babies!! 😭 This took forever, things have escalated once again.
💐 What is the relationship Rook has with their faction mentor? What was the moment they sent Rook away like?
— Firion Aldwir —
It was unpleasant, to say the least. Firion is usually very calm and soft-spoken and very receptive to critique. But on that day, he snapped. He is not a mage, he doesn't have the ability to manipulate artifacts like his teammates, but he is smart, quick-thinking and creative at solving problems - and strong enough to dismantle sentinels with one clean strike of his axe. That’s why Strife recruited him in the first place, no? It was Firion’s responsibilty to protect his teammates from harm and he did just that. He made a choice and the map was lost. Had he sacrificed several Veil Jumpers for it, would Strife have approved of that? His choice would have been wrong no matter what. And he told Strife just that. It was impudent and reckless, talking back at someone twice his age, to imply that the lives of their comrades had less value to him than a piece of parchment and to question his reasoning. The Veil Jumpers still gossip about Strife's subsequent outburst and Firion's courage to this day. It was never about the map, only about two pigheads refusing to apologize.
— Gwendolyn Mercar —
Gwen is very rational and future-oriented. She doesn’t dwell on mistakes, be it her own or others’. Sending her away from the Shadow Dragons was for her own safety, she understood and respected that and was quick to seek a new purpose. The relationship to the Viper and Tarquin is very professional and reserved, though she’s known Tarquin since her childhood in Ventus. Their fathers are old comrades in the military and they saw each other occasionally at one or the other dinner parties. They never became friends though and eventually Gwen left to study magic at the Circle of Minrathous until late in her twenties. As a friend of her father, Maevaris visited her frequently to convey his greetings to her and she became a big role model who eventually inspired Gwen to join the Shadow Dragons (and who she might or might not have had a crush on for a while).
— Enzo De Riva —
Viago’s and Enzo’s relationship could be described as “tough love”. Viago has always been Enzo’s protector, from the moment he was born - be it from their mother’s beatings, her drunk suitors or bullies - to this day. Viago could never quite shake off the guilt he felt when he left his little brother to join the Crows. Seeing Enzo years later, with the same endearing and lopsided smile he had as a small boy but with a sadness and scars behind his eyes from years of ruthless training and mental torture, was an image that he couldn't forget. He never wanted this for Enzo, he had a choice that Viago was denied and still he went through all the pain and misery, all alone and without his protection, just to be with him again. Viago promised himself on that day that he wanted to make amends, as far as he had the means to and their circumstances allowed. So he kept him close and trained him relentlessly to make sure he would survive. When he became the Fifth Talon they grew more distant; Viago constantly tried to improve him, gave him more difficult contracts and didn’t spare him any criticism. But Enzo had developed a mind and personality of his own and it looked like the hard training had backfired at some point. In the moments when he was focused on a job, he was reckless, careless, and impulsive. When he was not on duty he was either bedding a merchant’s daughter, drinking with the fledglings or sleeping in late. The botched job with the Antaam was just the icing on the cake and Viago had to pull a lot of strings to avoid having to report him directly to Caterina. It ended the way it usually did between them - with a lot of accusations, shouting, and slammed doors. That Viago eventually sent him away, however, came as a surprise to Enzo, albeit not an unwelcome one. He had needed a change of scenery and when Varric got in touch with him with a new “contract”, he gladly took it - a last token of Viago’s benevolence and a peace offering. The tempers of De Riva boys heat up fast, but they cool down just as quickly.
Oops, the last one got out of hand, again! Why do I like writing about them so much?? Also this provides more insights into Viago’s perspective than Enzo’s, my bad! But they are emotionally joined at the hip, what can I say?

Siedlimowice Palace
Historical landmark in Poland
The Siedlimowice Palace is a historic palace erected around 1540 in the town of Siedlimowice in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Świdnica County, in the administrative district of Gmina Żarów, south of Lake Mietkowskie. Currently in a state of ruin.
Address: Siedlimowice 31A, 58-121, Poland
In the fourteenth century, there was a fortified manor house in Siedlimowice, owned by the knight Heimann von Seydlitz. The new manor house was built around 1540. During the Thirty Years' War, it served as a hospital for the Swedes. In the mid-eighteenth century, there was a four-winged palace in the Baroque style. In 1867, the then owner, Heinrich Pückler von Gröditz, sold the building and its adjoining property to Heinrich August Korn. In the years 1873-1875, the Korn family rebuilt the local four-wing Baroque complex into the Neo-Renaissance style. At the beginning of the 20th century, the palace was modernized. After 1945, it belonged to the State Agricultural Farm, and at the beginning of the 21st century, the remaining ruins were sold.
