This is cannon to me.

To Gojo, Suguru killing that village was so sudden. I think he noticed something was off, but brushed it off a bit because Geto blames himself quite a bit. It's okay. He's always okay afterwards.

And also also, Gojo wasn't there for most of Suguru's spiral. It must have been so sudden and shocking that he would definitely cling to this.

Especially when he's lonely
