Where Can We Online Air Ticket Booking In Pakistan?
When there are a large number of airline websites and travel agents available then it seems complicated to book your air ticket. Flight price fluctuates all the time which is another thing that makes the booking process more complicated for travelers. Moreover, it is also a hard task to find the best travel agency or airline website that offers the satisfied services within a reasonable price range. If you are planning to move somewhere and are looking to buy a ticket with travel confirmation and, at the same time, want to get the cheap flights then you should choose the right option for Online Air Ticket Booking in Pakistan to avoid any trouble while traveling.
Tumblr media
Tips To Buy Online Air Ticket Booking In Pakistan
Follow the below-given tips to book your ticket safely to avoid any trouble while traveling:
Search Flights In Advance: This is the basic tip for travelers to look for the air tickets in advance. The reason behind it is that you would get a low cost online air ticket booking and, at the same time, you may get the opportunity to cancel or to delay your air ticket if you have any change in your traveling plan.
Go Through Several Websites: Do not make a deal with the first travel agent or first website you have explored through the internet. Instead of this, you have to visit several websites to get the idea of what fluctuations are coming at the price and what airline is offering the best travelling services to you.
Go Through The Aggregator Websites: Aggregator websites come with the best solutions for you. Search the aggregator websites and put your trip details into these websites. These websites then offer you the best airlines with suitable air tickets under your availability of time and under your budget.
Direct flight Or Connected Flight: If you are going to arrange your trip for a distant destination then you get two types of flights i.e. direct flights or connected flights. Direct flights are comparatively more expensive flights than connected flights. So, if you are in a hurry to reach a destination then you should go through a direct flight without considering the flight expense. However, on the other hand, if there is no need to reach hastily then you are suggested to go through a connected flight. The flight may take one or more stops depending upon your voyage.
Look For Tickets On Usual Days: It has seen that on usual days the flights are comparatively cheaper than the flights that fly on some special occasions such as New Year, Christmas, and other public celebrations. Moreover, airlines also offer some deals and discounted prices to travelers on some special occasions. So, the travelers are also suggested to wait for such kinds of deals and discounts to get a better and cheap traveling experience.

World Nomads covers Pakistan and I like to recommend it for the next causes:

Greatest time to go to Pakistan
Pakistan has many various areas, starting from sea-level, flat deserts to eight,000-meter peaks, so every season will current its personal peculiarities.
Winter (mid-November to February) – The very best time to go to the south a part of the nation, particularly Sindh province. These lands could not have the mountains Pakistan is legendary for however that is probably the most religiously numerous area in Pakistan. However, most mountains in northern Pakistan stay completely inaccessible within the wintertime. You’ll be able to nonetheless get to the Northern Areas by the Karakoram Freeway, however you received’t be capable of go to any facet valley.
Summer season (June to September) – The very best season for visiting the Northern Areas, particularly if you happen to like trekking in excessive altitude mountains.
Spring & Autumn – I personally traveled to Pakistan in April and Might and the mountains had been at their finest, because the climate was beautiful (most days), plus they weren’t busy with home tourism. Nevertheless, if you happen to journey to Pakistan in early spring, late autumn, the mountains will not be that accessible.
Touring in Pakistan throughout Ramadan – A subject by itself, with its professionals & cons. Misplaced with Goal traveled in Pakistan throughout Ramadan and wrote this insightful publish.
Pakistan is a reasonably wild expertise and, as such, it is best to journey there with correct journey insurance coverage. I strongly suggest World Nomads, as a result of it’s the solely firm that gives cowl with an infinite price range, plus they cowl a big number of journey actions, together with trekking in excessive altitudes, one thing fairly helpful in Pakistan.   What’s wish to journey in Pakistan at present
Earlier than 9/11, Pakistan was once a touristic nation.
Properly, not that touristic, however its breathtaking mountains had been a preferred stopover for backpackers going alongside the well-known Hippie Path.
Actually, within the Northern Areas, yow will discover a number of backpacker hostels which in some way, are the stays of what was once a preferred vacation spot for intrepid backpackers.
The 9/11 assaults, nevertheless, together with an enormous bunch of unlucky occasions, normally involving Taliban exercise and a great deal of violence, put an finish to the rising tourism business.
Happily, issues have modified.
Within the final couple of years, the safety state of affairs in Pakistan has dramatically improved and the Northern Areas of Pakistan are, as soon as once more, crammed with intrepid backpackers who need to go to a number of the most jaw-dropping mountain surroundings you’ll ever see, and expertise the hospitality Pakistan is legendary for.
Nonetheless, regardless of this huge tourism enhance, Pakistan nonetheless stays uncooked, genuine, and real, and it’ll keep like that for a really very long time, particularly as a result of it’s not a straightforward nation to journey to: vacationer infrastructure is in an embryonic stage, it’s troublesome to maneuver round and also you received’t meet many foreigners, in order that’s why I personally consider that solely skilled vacationers ought to go to Pakistan.
Nevertheless, touring in Pakistan is without doubt one of the most rewarding touring experiences one can ever have.
random locals , someplace in Astore Valley
Cultural habits and details when touring in Pakistan
Urdu, which is like Hindi, is the official language – Nevertheless, every area has its personal (or a number of) native languages, so totally different from one another. English is broadly spoken amongst educated individuals, like in India.
Pakistan is without doubt one of the most ethnically and culturally numerous international locations – From the South Asian trying individuals of Punjab and Sindh; to the individuals of the Pashtun areas, nearer to Iran or Afghanistan; the pagan tradition of Kalash; the Shias from Gilgit and Nagar; the Ismailis of decrease Hunza and the Wakhis (and likewise Ismailis) of higher Hunza. Touring in Pakistan is like touring in a number of, totally different tiny international locations. It’s fascinating.
Keep in mind, you’re the visitor – Folks are likely to say that, in Iran, Sudan and Iraqi Kurdistan, you discover probably the most hospitable individuals on the earth. Properly, clearly, they haven’t visited Pakistan. Whereas it’s true that these international locations are very hospitable, Pakistanis convey it to the subsequent degree. On this nation, you’re the visitor, which implies that the locals try so that you can have the very best time of their nation or area.
The hospitality may even be overwhelming – Throughout your journey to Pakistan, you’ll be invited for lunch, dinner and even to remain at individuals’s homes so many instances that, on many events, you’ll have to refuse.
After your refusal, they are going to insist as soon as once more, again and again. They can even insist on carrying your bag and providing you meals 100 instances even if you happen to say that you’re full. These are their cultural guidelines and you’re the visitor.
So overwhelming however simply don’t get offended – At some point, some random males who I had by no means seen earlier than got here to my resort at 7:30 am within the morning, knocking on the door of my room, waking me up from an excellent sleep.
Apparently, they heard that there was a foreigner within the village, so they simply needed to hang around with me. I received a little bit bit offended, continued sleeping however then I type of felt dangerous, as all they needed was to indicate me across the village.
Paying for meals – For some cause, Pakistanis at all times need to pay to your meals to the extent that it will get awkward. I personally didn’t prefer it, particularly once I may see that the native individuals didn’t have a lot cash. If attainable, attempt to again them up.
Carrying a Shalwar Kameez – The normal Pakistani costume, which 80% or 90% of Pakistanis put on, is known as shalwar kameez. Do you have to put on it? It’s not obligatory however, if you happen to do, the locals will actually admire it, particularly within the Pashtun areas.
Islam – Pakistan is probably the most conservative nation I’ve ever been to. You need to be cautious and at all times respect their guidelines. Should you do, they can even respect you and you’ll have the most effective time of their nation.
Multan shrine, some of the lovely locations to go to in Pakistan
Helpful books for touring to Pakistan

Safety and security if you journey in Pakistan
Pakistan just isn’t harmful however you have to be cautious. You may need learn from different blogs that Pakistan is without doubt one of the most secure international locations on the earth. Personally, I wouldn’t say that. Whereas I believe that Pakistan just isn’t a harmful nation, in some areas, it’s higher to be cautious, particularly within the area bordering Afghanistan.
Nevertheless, the state of affairs is simply getting higher and higher – Severely, security in Pakistan has improved exponentially.
Police are there that can assist you. All through your Pakistan travels, you’ll be constantly interrogated by dozens of various policemen and other people from the military. Who’re you? Why are you right here? The place are you going? Not like in different international locations, in Pakistan, the police and navy are fairly cool and, to your personal safety, they’re commanded to ask you these questions.
You’ll have to register at greater than 100 safety examine posts. I’m not kidding. Throughout my 56-day journey to Pakistan, I needed to register greater than 100 instances at totally different military and police examine posts. Typically, to get from one vacation spot to a different, I needed to register greater than 10 instances! At every examine publish, it’s a must to get off the automotive or bus and write down all of your private data in a pocket book. It will decelerate your journey significantly.
Carry one thousand passport & visa photocopies. It’s good to convey a great deal of photocopies as a result of, at some examine posts, you probably have a passport copy, you don’t must get out of the automotive. In any other case, you’re going to waste your time.
Often, you get a private guard, without spending a dime – Once more, not kidding. For safety functions, in some areas, you’ll get a private armed guard. Typically, you may need to pay for his meals however, in keeping with the police, you aren’t compelled to. It’s as much as you. For extra data, learn my publish: Is Pakistan protected?
Having a private armed guard appears type of cool however, to be trustworthy, it’s not that a lot – The primary time you get an armed guard you get type of excited. Nevertheless, after half an hour, you would possibly begin hating him as a result of he’ll put you below a whole lot of restrictions.
Ladies touring solo is extra frequent and safer than you suppose – Ladies inform fantastic issues about their experiences throughout their journeys by Pakistan. I’m not probably the most certified individual to speak about this subject however my buddy Alex has written this excellent publish: Is it protected for a girl to journey to Pakistan?
Pakistani intelligence is without doubt one of the finest secret providers on the earth – One of many explanation why Pakistan just isn’t a harmful nation is due to the Pakistani intelligence, which is taken into account the most effective intelligence corps on the earth, even higher than the CIA.
Remember that they’re watching your steps and they’ll at all times know the place you might be. I keep in mind that, whereas mountaineering round a distant space within the Astore Valley, a person sporting a salwar kameez (the normal Pakistani garments), got here to me and mentioned, ”You’re the Spanish, proper?” Sure, he was from Pakistani intelligence.
For additional data on security, together with which areas are the most secure, learn my publish: Is Pakistan protected?

Forms and permits to your journey in Pakistan
Don’t belief any supply of paperwork data, not even Towards the Compass – In Pakistan, guidelines aren’t written and issues are consistently altering. Locations that now not require a allow, would possibly require it in a single day, by the subsequent day it was altering it again once more.
A navy man informed me as soon as that, when this occurs, it’s as a result of they’re suspicious of some Taliban or terrorist exercise.
This data doesn’t circulate all through the nation, so you will notice that everybody (together with nationwide police, native police, the Military, the locals, vacationers, and blogs) will at all times have a unique opinion. Don’t belief anybody. Verify it your self, when you’re on the bottom.
In Pakistan every part is feasible – If there’s something precious I learnt throughout my journey to Pakistan, it’s that, as in any corrupt nation, every part is feasible and all of it is dependent upon your contacts. If the correct individuals, you are able to do completely every part you need, together with visiting forbidden areas with no allow.
What you could learn about NOC
What’s it? A No Objection Certificates, which is principally, a allow required for sure restricted areas.
get? – One of the best ways to get it’s by a neighborhood with contacts. Should you don’t know any native, contact your embassy, however it will possibly take as much as Four or 5 working days to proceed.
When do you want it? – As I mentioned earlier than, don’t belief any supply of paperwork data. Throughout my journey to Pakistan, a buddy of mine was required to get an NOC to make use of the street between Timargara and Chitral. At some point later, I attempted to make use of that street however the NOC was not required anymore. Nevertheless, formally, you would wish an NOC to go to Balochistan, the Khyber Move, Tribal Areas and Kashmir (some areas of Kashmir).
Cash in Pakistan
In Pakistan, they use the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) and, roughly, 1USD = 160PKR
Money & ATMs – Pakistan is a money economic system, so higher convey money, particularly within the Northern Areas, the place. In fact, yow will discover ATMs in all massive cities however not all of them will settle for international playing cards.
How a lot does it price to journey to Pakistan
However earlier than, a number of issues you could know:
In Pakistan, every part is negotiable: All the things will be bargained for, particularly the resort rooms. Anticipate to pay totally different quantities from different visitors.
All the time include a reference: While you journey in Pakistan, contacts are crucial and that’s why in both lodges or trekking tour firms if you happen to come referenced by a neighborhood, you’ll get a greater value.
In any case, it is a fairly low-cost nation and I believe you possibly can simply journey to Pakistan for lower than 20 a day, sleeping in personal rooms and consuming Three meals exterior. These are the (approximate) costs of the most common issues:
Native meal – 150PKR
Native meal in a mid-range restaurant – 250-500PKR
Meal in a elaborate restaurant of Lahore – from 1500PKR
Personal room in a price range resort – As much as 1500PKR
Personal room in a mid-range resort – Round 3,000PKR
Lengthy bus rides (Islamabad to Gilgit) – Round 2,500PKR for a VIP ticket (you need to get a VIP, belief me)
Pakistani rupees! – Pakistan journey weblog
  Web and calling
Besides in Gilgit-Baltistan, the web works moderately effectively all through the nation.
Within the Northern Areas, the connectivity is terrible or non-existent relying on the place you go.
I received a SIM Card from a Chinese language firm referred to as ZONG which is meant to be the most effective for just about wherever within the nation. Within the Northern Areas, nevertheless, it barely labored and, apparently, you could get an organization named SCOM, which yow will discover in Gilgit,
Professional-tip: Inform a neighborhood to get a SIM Card for you – The draw back of ZONG is that, as a foreigner, you could go to the central workplace and pay fairly some huge cash to enroll in it (20 or 30USD). Inform a neighborhood to enroll in you, so that you’ll simply pay the native value and get it in a short time.
My workplace for a day
  Transportation for touring round Pakistan
You’ll get used to the mountain roads – Most mountain roads are very scary as they’re extraordinarily slender and constructed on insanely excessive cliffs. Don’t panic. You’ll simply get used to them!
You’ll study to be affected person – In completely virtually each lengthy bus journey I took, we had a breakdown. Typically, we had been stopped for 2 hours! And in the future, we stopped as a result of the bus ran out of fuel! Are you able to consider it?
Psychedelic vehicles are a lifestyle – Everyone falls in love with the vehicles in Pakistan, as they’re so notably adorned that they’re a blessing to your lens.
Methods of transferring round if you journey in Pakistan
Public buses & minivans go in all places – Like in most creating international locations the place most individuals can’t afford to purchase a automotive, buses and minivans journey to even the remotest areas within the nation. In Sindh and Punjab provinces, Daewoo is probably the most luxurious bus. For touring to Gilgit from Islamabad, it is best to positively take NATCO VIP Bus ( round 17USD). Don’t fear, just isn’t that VIP.
Prepare – In Sindh, Punjab, and Peshawar, you possibly can transfer round by practice. There are totally different practice firms however it is best to at all times take the personal ones, as they’re extra punctual. Use AC normal, as it’s the one utilized by the Pakistani center class. It’s not costly, not smelly and cozy sufficient. For extra data, examine this practice information to Pakistan.
Hitchhiking is just too straightforward – It’s really easy, that typically, it’s sooner and simpler than taking public transport, particularly on the Karakoram Freeway (from Gilgit to Khunjerab Move). Everyone will need to choose you up! As a normal rule, on the KKH, I didn’t hitchhike on motorbikes (there are such a lot of accidents) and vehicles with ladies inside.
Airplane is fairly handy – Touring by bus from Islamabad to the northern areas, together with Chitral, Gilgit and Skardu takes ages (from 15 to 20 hours). There are flights connecting Islamabad with all these cities. Guide your flights right here. Please be aware that, for flying to and from Gilgit, you have to e-book a number of days (even weeks) upfront. Additionally, keep in mind that many flights get canceled because of the climate situation.

Kroger to light up its headquarters for Women's Day
See more of the storyThe Latest on International Women's Day: Kroger says it will light up its Cincinnati headquarters for International Women's Day, another example of how corporations are honoring the day. The supermarket operator, which also owns the Ralphs, Owen's and Roundy's chains, says the 25-story building will be illuminated with the female Venus symbol Thursday night. Many companies are trying to spotlight women for the day. McDonald's, for example, flipped its Golden Arches logo on its website to look like a "W." ___ Black glasses covering part of her badly burned face, a victim of an acid attack joined hundreds of activists who rallied in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Thursday to denounce violence against women and mark International Women's Day. Acid attacks are not uncommon in Pakistan, where men sometimes assault women for refusing to marry them. At Karachi's rally, held amid tight security, hundreds of Muslims and minority Christian women stood up as a sign of respect when the acid attack victim joined them. Victims of acid attacks tend to avoid public gatherings. They are often treated at hospitals with financial assistance from non-governmental organizations. ___ McDonald's has temporarily flipped its famous Golden Arches to look like a "W'' — a move it says it made to recognize International Women's Day. The upside-down logo appeared Thursday on the fast-food giant's website and social media accounts. It also flipped the arches at one restaurant in Lynwood, California. McDonald's says that at about 100 of its 14,000 restaurants, packaging and worker uniforms will have the flipped logo. McDonald's also says six out of 10 of its restaurant managers are women and it wanted to honor their accomplishments. The Oak Brook, Illinois-based company says it's the first time it has flipped its Golden Arches logo since they debuted at a restaurant six decades ago. ___ Hundreds of women have protested in Kosovo's capital to commemorate International Women's Day. Some posters held up during the demonstration in Pristina said "We march, we do not celebrate" and "Job for me." Luljeta Aliu of the nonprofit Justice and Equality organization says that "we fight for our rights as women. We want our rights at the workplace. We don't want to be sexually harassed." Kosovo's ombudsman has acknowledged that women are still discriminated against in the property and job markets. ___ Three current and former French ministers have performed in a play about women's sexual experiences amid the French government's push to highlight gender inequality. The state secretary for women's rights, Marlene Schiappa, performed in the Vagina Monologues alongside Roselyne Bachelot, health minister under conservative president Nicolas Sarkozy, and Myriam El Khomri, labor minister under Socialist president Francois Hollande. Schiappa is currently championing a new bill targeting sexual violence and harassment. Theater producer Jean-Marc Dumontet, who organized Wednesday's performance in Paris, stressed the three politicians took a risk. Dumontet told The Associated Press that "it brings women's issues to a very prominent position. They are really speaking out." Bachelot said she agreed to perform the play with Schiappa because the fight for gender equality goes beyond political divides. ___ Catholic women are challenging Pope Francis to give women a greater voice in Catholic Church decision-making, warning that they are leaving the church in droves because its all-male leadership refuses to change their entrenched second-class status. Former Irish President Mary McAleese, an outspoken advocate for women's ordination and gay rights, was the keynote speaker Thursday at an International Women's Day conference that was moved off Vatican territory this year because a cardinal declined to sponsor it due to McAleese's participation. In her speech, delivered at the Rome headquarters of Francis' Jesuit order, McAleese said "The Catholic Church has long since been a primary global carrier of the toxic virus of misogyny. Its leadership has never sought a cure for that virus though the cure is freely available: Its name is equality." ___ French President Emmanuel Macron says his government is going to name and shame companies that don't respect the law on gender equality. For International Women's Day, Macron has visited a property company awarded for its efforts toward gender equality. He said that pointing the finger at companies that don't comply with the law "will make them change, because no one wants to be the worst student in the class." Prime Minister Edouard Philippe unveiled Wednesday a government plan to push for gender equality in the workplace. One measure would sanction companies with more than 50 employees, if there is an "unjustified" gender wage gap, with a substantial financial penalty. Statistics show at the same age and equivalent job, there is a 9 percent gap between the wages of men and women in France ___ Asia Argento, an Italian actress who helped launch the #MeToo movement, is launching a new movement, #WeToo, which aims to unite women against the power imbalance in favor of men. Argento told Radio 24 on Thursday that her aim was "to finally change the patriarchal system so rooted in our culture, not just in Italy." She called on women to join her at a women's march in Rome later in the day, and participate in a strike to illustrate the contributions of women at home and in the workplace. Argento helped give strength to other women to report sexual assault and harassment when she accused Harvey Weinstein of rape in an expose by The New Yorker. The accusations drew a backlash in Italy for having waited 20 years to come forward. ___ Hundreds of women have marched in Pakistan's capital and elsewhere on International Women's Day, demanding more rights and denouncing harassment, which is common at homes and in work places. Chanting slogans, they rallied in the capital Islamabad, Pakistan's largest city Karachi, and in the cultural capital of Lahore. At Thursday's rallies, women denounced violence against them in Pakistan, where nearly 1,000 women are killed by close relatives each year in so-called honor killings. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi earlier addressed a gathering of women and assured them full protection. Women in Pakistan have a reasonable presence in the parliament but they have to rely on fellow male lawmakers to amend discriminatory or flawed laws. Pakistani women have largely been deprived of their rights since the country gained independence in 1947. ___ Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle have met female students studying science, technology, engineering and math as part of celebrations marking International Women's Day. Some 90 students met the royal couple on Thursday at Millennium Point in Birmingham as part of an event to inspire young people to take part in science and tech careers. Markle seemed impressed by the aspirations of the students, many of whom wanted to be doctors or surgeons. Harry and Markle are touring the country to introduce the American actress to the people of Britain before their marriage at Windsor Castle on May 19. ___ South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says South Africans must work together to improve the status of women who face discrimination and disadvantages "at home and in the workplace." Ramaphosa, who took office last month, said Thursday that his compatriots should use International Women's Day to decide what they can do to advance gender equality. Ramaphosa says South Africa has made progress toward equality since the end of apartheid in 1994 in building an equal society. He said "patriarchy has no place in the South Africa we are building today." South Africa has a high rate of violent crime, including rape. ___ German Chancellor Angela Merkel says on International Women's Day that while much has been achieved, the struggle for more equality for women in Germany and worldwide must continue. Merkel, considered one of the world's most powerful women, said Thursday in a video message that "many women before us have made sacrifices and fought persistently so that women would have more rights ... but there's still a lot to do." The chancellor said that, "there are also new tasks for men" — but she didn't elaborate further. Merkel added, "Therefore today is not only a day to look back at what has been achieved, but also a day on which we say — the struggle for equal rights of women continues." ___ Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is urging men to stop physically abusing their wives, in official remarks Thursday while marking International Women's Day. Domestic violence is common across in Uganda, although victims rarely report perpetrators to the police for fear of being stigmatized or thrown out of their homes. "If you want to fight, why don't you look for a fellow man and fight?" Museveni said, calling domestic abusers cowards. Museveni said lifting women up economically, through education and entrepreneurship, can help bring an end to rampant domestic violence. He said: "If the girls are not economically empowered, they will remain vulnerable to these bully men." ___ A leading French newspaper has found a novel way to mark International Women's Day — by upping its price for men, to mimic the pay gap. The all-red front page of Thursday's edition of the left-leaning daily Liberation wrote in bold letters "For Women 2 euros, normal price." The paper added that for one day only, men would pay 50 cents more, a reflection of the 25 percent less that women in France are paid than men, on average. Liberation said it wants to "highlight this injustice" with its price increase for men. "A punishment? No. A contribution!" the paper wrote on the front page, saying the extra money recovered from men on Thursday would go to the Laboratory of Equality, which has long fought for gender equality. ___ U.S. national soccer team striker Alex Morgan and Brazil forward Marta are among the players chosen for the FIFPro Women's World XI. The team was announced Thursday to coincide with International Women's Day. Goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl of Sweden is joined by defenders Nilla Fischer of Sweden, Lucy Bronze of England, Irene Paredes of Spain and Wendie Renard of France. Midfielder Dzsenifer Maroszan of Germany, Camille Abily of France, Pernille Harder of Denmark and Lieke Martens of the Netherlands round out the 11. Morgan says having a Women's World XI team "helps female footballers recognize the talent among their peers and I'm really happy to encourage and be a part of that." ___ Opposition presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak has conducted a solo picket outside the lower house of the Russian parliament to demand the resignation of a prominent lawmaker whom several female journalists accuse of sexual harassment. The allegations against Leonid Slutsky, head of the Duma's foreign affairs committee, include sexual groping and making demeaning comments. Parliament speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has dismissed the complaints, saying that journalists who feel unsafe covering the Duma should get other jobs. Sobchak held her demonstration on Thursday, International Women's Day, which is observed as a public holiday in Russia. She held a placard reading "Deputies -- we don't want you." President Vladimir Putin, with approval ratings of some 80 percent, is seeking a fourth term in the March 18 election. ___ Spanish women are marking International Women's Day with the first-ever full day strike and dozens of protests across the country against the wage gap and gender violence. Under the slogan "If we stop, the world stops," women working both in and outside their homes, unpaid caretakers and students are called to join the 24-hour strike by the March 8 Commission, a platform of feminist organizations that also demands equal opportunities for working women. CCOO and UGT, two of the main workers' unions in Spain have called for morning and afternoon 2-hour work stoppages. In Madrid, a massive demonstration was expected later in the evening. In Barcelona, protesters who disrupted traffic into the city center were seen in social media videos being pushed by anti-riot police agents. ___ During Taliban rule many would have been afraid to leave their homes, but hundreds of women gathered in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday to commemorate International Women's Day — and to remind their leaders that plenty of work remains to be done to give Afghan woman a voice, ensure their education and protect them from increasing violence. The head of the Independent Human Rights Commission, Sima Samar, directed some comments at women in Afghanistan's security forces. "Your safety represents the safety of all Afghan women," she said, reminding women in uniform to report any abuse by superiors to the rights commission. She said no one has the right to comment on their physical appearance or to speak to them disrespectfully. ___ This item has been corrected to show that the women gathered in Kabul but did not march. ___ Hundreds of women have held street plays and marched in the Indian capital to highlight domestic violence, sexual attacks and discrimination in jobs and wages on International Women's Day. They carried placards reading, "Unite against violence against Women," ''Man enough to say no to domestic abuse," and "My body, My choice." Violent crime against women has been on the rise in India despite tough laws enacted by the government. Office workers, school teachers and sex workers were among those participating in the 2-kilometer (1.25 mile) march, which ended near Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "India is moving from women development to women-led development. Through their exemplary deeds, several women have left an indelible mark in the history of humankind." ___ Hundreds of South Koreans are staging a protest in support of the #MeToo movement on International Women's Day. Protesters, many wearing black and holding black signs reading #MeToo, gathered in central Seoul. They called for bringing alleged sexual offenders to justice, as well as action on other issues such as closing a gender pay gap. Since a female prosecutor's revelation in January of workplace mistreatment and sexual misconduct, South Korea's #MeToo movement has gained major traction. The list of women who speak out is growing daily. Several high-profile men have resigned from positions of power, including a governor who was a leading presidential contender before he was accused of repeatedly raping his secretary. ___ Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi says peaceful democracies make good use of women's strength in political, economic and social fields. In a speech marking International Women's Day, she said, "A country's human rights values will be enhanced when women are granted their rights." Thursday was the third year the annual event was celebrated under a civilian government in Myanmar, where the military that long ruled the country is still powerful. Suu Kyi leads the political party that won by a landslide in 2015 elections but the constitution bars her from becoming the president. Though Myanmar has a woman leading its civilian government, a profound gender gap remains in the country of 52 million people. ___ Students at China's prestigious Tsinghua University are celebrating International Women's Day with banners making light of a proposed constitutional amendment to scrap term limits for the country's president. One banner joked that a boyfriend's term should also have no limits, while another said, "A country cannot exist without a constitution, as we cannot exist without you!" Photos of the banners were shared on Chinese social media Wednesday night before they were scrubbed by censors. Several online commenters also said the posters appeared to have been swiftly removed. China's ceremonial legislature is poised to pass a constitutional amendment that will allow President Xi Jinping to rule indefinitely during its ongoing annual session. Despite heavy censorship, the move has been criticized by liberal intellectuals as a return to dictatorship and satirized online. ___ Marches and demonstrations in Asia are kicking off rallies around the world to mark International Women's Day. Hundreds of women activists in pink and purple shirts protested Thursday in the Philippines against President Rodrigo Duterte, who they said is among the worst violators of women's rights in Asia. Protest leaders sang and danced in a boisterous rally in downtown Manila's Plaza Miranda. They handed red and white roses to mothers, sisters and widows of several drug suspects slain under Duterte's deadly crackdown on illegal drugs. A rally for the rights of female workers was scheduled for later Thursday in central Seoul in South Korea, where a rapidly spreading #Metoo movement is galvanizing support for women's issues. Other events are planned across Asia, the Mideast, Europe and the Americas.

Sarfraz is a fighter, I want to be the same: Hassan Khan
Sarfraz is a fighter, I want to be the same: Hassan Khan
Hassan Khan bursts out laughing when we show him the picture (above). “Yes, that’s me. I must have been in class seven or eight then.”
It’s a screenshot we carried to the interview just to figure out how long Hassan, now 19, has actually been playing cricket for. The original footage is from an inter-school tournament in Karachi, where a local TV reporter is seen having a chat with Hassan after the final.
“Since a very young age, I used to go to various grounds in Karachi with my father,” Hassan tells Wisden India on the sidelines of the ongoing Under-19 World Cup. “That’s where I started developing a liking for cricket. Slowly, I got into Under-12, Under-16, and Under-19 sides while playing for the National Bank Cricket Academy. Once I got into professional cricket, I entered zonal cricket – it’s the system you have to go through if you are playing cricket in Karachi. I did well for Karachi, and then some more good outings at the National Cricket Academy camps led to my name appearing in the list for the Pakistan Under-19 squad. Mashallah, the journey has been quite fulfilling so far.”
But cricket at such a young age comes with the price of compromising on academics, and more often than not, it’s not an easy choice to make.
“It was alright initially, till I switched to professional cricket,” says Hassan, the captain of the team in New Zealand. “It was fine balancing school, studies, academies and coaching. But slowly, once I got deeper into the professional grind, and started going for tours, it became difficult to carry both things forward, since I hardly spent any time at home.
“But I was lucky in a way. My dad is a major sports enthusiast and in this matter, I got a lot of support from home, from him and my brothers too. My mother wanted me to study, but once she saw her son making progress in cricket, she backed me to take this up. Well, to be honest, she supported me right from the start, but she wanted me to try and keep both cricket and studies going.”
Speaking of family, Hassan has distant cousins living in Kanpur in India. He has fond memories of a trip he made to the country many years ago, though he doesn’t clearly remember much apart from the cricket he played with his cousins.
“We, as youngsters, take great pride from what we saw our senior team achieve in that tournament. It taught us to never accept defeat before having actually lost, and taught us to keep giving our best in every situation.” © Getty Images
“I was very young, I think about eight or nine years old when I went there,” he recollects. “I only remember just one thing vividly, we played a lot of cricket in my cousin’s garage, which was a lot of fun.”
Not to jinx anything, but here’s a hypothetical situation from the future: Hassan is playing for the Pakistan senior team, and it’s a World Cup match against Virat Kohli’s India. How much of a headache would that be for his relatives across the border, on choosing who to support?
“I think they will definitely want India to win, but I hope they would want me to get some runs or pick up some wickets too!”
Laughter fills the room before we decide to put an end to our guessing games. Back to reality, and we are talking real India v Pakistan, that’s Sarfraz Ahmed v Kohli, which brings us to the topic of the Champions Trophy final last year.
“I was watching it at home just like any other fan,” says Hassan. “We were over the moon with the result, and more so because it was so unexpected. No one was expecting Pakistan to win. Forget about winning, we were not even expecting them to get to the final. But it was remarkable, the way the team fought under Sarfraz bhai’s leadership. After losing to India like that in the first match, it was an exceptional comeback. We, as youngsters, take great pride from what we saw our senior team achieve in that tournament. It taught us to never accept defeat before having actually lost, and taught us to keep giving our best in every situation.”
Hassan has played under the leadership of Sarfraz in the Pakistan Super League, representing Quetta Gladiators. If you search for his videos on YouTube, you are likely to come across one where he traps Misbah-ul-Haq lbw in a match against Islamabad United at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, triggering wild celebrations in the Quetta camp. Leading the pack is Sir Viv Richards, high-fiving and low-fiving everyone across the dugout.
“It was a big honour for me to have played in the PSL,” says Hassan. “Sir Viv, Kevin Pietersen, Moin (Khan) bhaai, Abdur Razzaq – I was lucky to share the same space with such legends. It was an extraordinary feeling. I realised that whenever someone of such big stature comes and pats your back, your confidence automatically shoots sky high. It was a great learning experience for me.”
But doesn’t such early exposure to Twenty20 franchise cricket leagues take away a youngster’s attention from more serious cricket?
“Test cricket and T20 cricket, they both have a place in my heart,” he counters. “Nowadays, T20 cricket has made cricket a very fast game. Exposure, I feel, is the most important thing. When you know your actions are being telecast live, and so many people are watching you play, it becomes a huge platform for youngsters like me to try and showcase our talent. It also gives more people to come in the limelight and put their hands up to eventually make it to the national T20I, ODI, or Test sides.”
“There have been many ups and downs, but Sarfraz bhai has stayed put and has kept on fighting. I wish to do the same no matter what comes my way, and Inshallah, I’ll be successful one day.” © PSL T20
A bowling allrounder is how Hassan likes to describe himself, and not surprisingly, his idol is a man who plied in the same trade. “Shahid Afridi was a big name when I was growing up, and he was a star allrounder – a good batsman, a good bowler and a good fielder. So I always wanted to be like him,” says Hassan. “He was a big attraction for the crowd as well, and he certainly influenced me in taking up cricket in a way. I even wanted to grow my hair long, like he did, but well, that idea didn’t go down too well with my parents or the school teachers!
“In the current setup though, Sarfraz bhai is my idol. Like I say in every interview, I have been watching him through his career. There have been many ups and downs, but he has stayed put and has kept on fighting. I wish to do the same no matter what comes my way, and Inshallah, I’ll be successful one day.”
Hassan is pretty much on the right track, even though there’s a long way to go for the youngster. “I don’t think there can be any feeling better than playing cricket for Pakistan,” he says. “It is a feeling that you can not really explain in words. When I’m leading my country, even at the junior level, it is a matter of pride for me and my family. Among so many players, 15 got selected to play, and one was handed the responsibility to lead – there couldn’t have been a more honourable thing for me.”

This Muslim Immigrant Met The U.S. Army, Became A Citizen, And Made A Bronze Star
Nearly 6,000 members of the U.S. armed self-identify as Muslim, according to the Pentagon. Their next commander-in-chief could be a human who has called for a covering banning on all people of their faith from registering the U.S.
Here, in his own texts, is the story of how one immigrant — who happens to be Muslim — joined the U.S. Army, fought overseas, became a citizen, acquired a Bronze Star, and is now worried about the possibility of setting up causing his children in countries around the world where Donald Trump is president.
Hanif Sangi and his wife Kanwal live in Elliott City, Maryland, with their three children. Sangi works for the federal government departments as an designer .
Hanif Sangi
Sangi, right, in Kuwait during Operation Desert Spring in 2001.
I came to the United States in 1999 from Pakistan and my first thought was, “How can I serve this great country? ” In 2000, as many migrants to this country have done, I joined the United States armed. I served in the U.S Army’s 1st Cavalry Division and in the Army’s elite Special Forces.
When I was deployed into harm’s way and their own families persisted stateside, I was attentive to honor the flag and American prices, to perpetuate our way of life and our constitutional freedoms. America’s enemies were my opponents, and still are.
My jihad ( contend) was to stand up for my faith and their fellow citizens of this large nation.
I am personally piqued by those who attempt to further their personal or political agenda by mischaracterizing my religion.
My name is Hanif Sangi, and I am an American, an immigrant, a Muslim, a U.S Army veteran who served in combat, and funding recipients of the Bronze Star for heroism.
Hanif Sangi

‘The good decision I ever made.’
Pakistan is a different culture. You need to know somebody to get a job. There’s a lot of bribery going on. When I graduated from the prestigious Mehran University of Engineering and Technology in Jamshoro, I had a very hard time finding a job. And I was poor. My father was poverty-stricken. We didn’t know anybody and we had no money. I decided I needed to go. I needed to leave this country.
We didn’t have cell phones or Internet then, but I was looking at a newspaper and it said that the U.S. green card lottery was the best option.
So I was just having tea together with college acquaintances one day, and I received big-hearted packet in mail from the national visa center in D.C. I had never received such a big packet before, so I knew it was something that should be exciting. It had a light-green letter inside.
I started hollering! It said, “Congratulations! You have been randomly selected for the visa lottery” out of millions of parties. That was a huge big deal for me. I still have that copy in my document, the original envelope and everything.
Hanif Sangi
Hanifstill has the note he received over 15 years ago telling him he’d won the U.S. green card raffle.
Hanif Sangi
The letter Hanif Sangi received at his home in Pakistan apprise himhe’d been selected in the U.S. green card gamble.
Coming to the U.S. was the best decision I ever made.
I had never gone anywhere outside of Pakistan. It was my first time here. I arrived in New York and had a connecting flight to LA. Of course it was a new district, a brand-new country, a brand-new conversation. I’d never had any their relationships with Americans except for entry visas interview at the embassy. It was a moment of enthusiasm, coming to the land of opportunity. I was very happy, very excited to be here.
There were numerous openings here from Pakistani financiers offering me the chanceto be a administrator at one of their accumulates — but fund wasn’t my priority. I needed to serve home countries in any capability I could. I needed to learn its own language and entering into culture. That was my first priority. I went online to the army website.
In the army, was given time to go to Friday devotions in boot camp. I was given a meal in the middle of the night and exempted from physical fitness instruct during Ramadan when I was fasting. I never thought that would has occurred in the army. I have been blessed, yes.
Hanif Sangi
Sangi, left, in Sicily on his channel to Kuwait for Operation Desert Spring in 2001.
I was trusted in the military. That’s not gonna happen anywhere in macrocosm, I accept. I had a Pakistani passport but I was responsible for all the weapons in my section. To be Pakistani and have person trust you with this kind of occasion, I guess no non-eu countries will trust you or give you the opportunity.
I was at Fort Hood in Texas on Sept. 11. We had morning pattern every morning. We were driving to that, as part of duty, and listening to the radio. Then throughout the day, everyone was in appall. We were watching TV the working day, looking at these horrible pictures all day.
Because of my culture insight, I contacted out to the special forces and offered my services.

Hanif Sangi
Sangi, left, with elderly military officers from U.S, Afghanistan Army and Pakistan Army, in Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2006 or 2007.
I was a regional expert for South Asia. I taught special forces about different cultures, about the belief, about its own language in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I labor at the U.S. delegation in Islamabad. I assisted the Pakistani armed. I served in Afghanistan with the United States Army’s Special Operations Command, accomplished two short tours. I was involved in multiple runnings where we faced the enemy.
I’m not allowed to go into all the details of why I received the Bronze Star for valor. It was for a special ops item, a substantiating task force, and part of the global war against terrorism squad. It was a fighting role.
Hanif Sangi
A certificate commemorating the Bronze Star Medal be given to Hanif Sangi.
I got my citizenship in 2003 while in the military forces. A evaluate held the ceremony in tribunal in San Antonio, Texas. That is a huge moment, a very exciting instant. That was the most difficult wage for my family. I was looking to sponsor my mothers for a green card so they could come and understand me and my family. I couldn’t do that as a green card holder, but I could as a U.S. citizen.

I was invited by the White House to President Barack Obama’s first sees to a mosque this February. It was great. We wanted to hear from him. He specific told everyone, “You are American and Muslim.” Saying that on national media and world-wide media — that the Islamic State and Muslims are not the same — was a big moment for us.
‘Has Mr. Trump placed his life in danger to serve this country? ‘
My mothers now come here often. They stay with us, and stay with the girls while we’re at work. When you have Trump telling parties, “We will impede all Muslims from participating the U.S ., ” it would symbolize I cannot view my father, I cannot recognize my mama, even though I served in the military forces, opposed in battles, have a Bronze Star, and now work for the federal government. But I would be unable to meet with my mothers because they are Muslim?
We can’t turn on Fox News or our minors will freak out. My son Aariz asked me, “Daddy, Trump precisely triumphed Florida. He’s getting closer to acquiring the nomination and opportunities are increasing for him to be president. He’ll build a wall and kick us out. What are we gonna do? ” I certainly had no words to reply to him. He may be right. I tell him, “Nothing “il happen to” you.”

We go to the neighbourhood halal market for groceries and spices and other things. A several weeks ago, someone vandalized the halal marketplace in Columbia, Maryland, operated a truck into the door at night. So my teenagers is not simply hear about Trump, but they also see this kind of situation.
I want to ask Trump: Have you or your children ever done something to suffice home countries? Done something so our American people can sleep at night? Have you done anything? Have you gone overseas? Call one contribution that you’ve done except making money for yourself. Have you done anything for the American people you can be proud of? All they have done is gone after the money, and well-developed the buildings. Has Mr. Trump gave his life in danger to serve home countries?
This interview has been condensed and edited for clarity.
Editor’s memorandum: Donald Trump regularly incites political savagery and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire belief — from enrolling the U.S .
