It's reciprocated yes but tragic because sua is dying. They're both mourning what it could have been. Mizi is softly caressing sua's wound while begging Sua to stay with her. Sua is using her last moments to look at mizi and tell her there never was and there will never be someone more important to her than Mizi.

Cure mizisua is another kind of goodbye. Longer, softer, more haunting. They don't need to yell their feelings because they know. But they want to say them because it will be their last time to do so.

♡ how close you are to laxus really depends on when you join the guild (or rather, at what point of laxus's life you're meeting him). if you're joining before the ivan drama goes down, chances are that it's not super hard to get close to laxus! he's a competitive kid and a bit cocky, but beat his ass in a sparring match and he's immediately interested in you. the two of you are more on an equal level, and even though you butt heads a lot, laxus considers you one of his only true friends.

♡ if you join after ivan is kicked out... well, it's hard for anyone to get close to laxus at that point. he's most definitely an asshole to everyone, and no way in hell does he want to make "friends." still, you're nothing if not stubborn, and you tail him on an s-class mission. he almost tears you a new one for following him on a dangerous job, but when you growl at him, he shuts up. it's hard to find someone who's not scared of him, and he'd be lying if he said it wasn't refreshing. in this case, laxus treats you more like a younger sibling, teasing you a lot. he will loudly say that you're a pest and a nuisance, but you know he cares when he covers your back on another mission that he invited you on you snuck into

♡ laxus has mixed feelings about fairy tail, and it's part of why he becomes friends with cana. the three of you form a little gossiping trio. well, it's mostly you and cana complaining and getting shitfaced. laxus is silent except for when he drops the most insane Dreyar Lore possible. "oh yeah, the old geezer used to hang out with a gang in crocus. no, I'm not showing you the photos."

♡ if you try to complain to laxus that natsu or gray were being mean to you, he will laugh at you. laxus does, in fact, care about you, but he only shows it when the situation is more serious. if you're there when lisanna "dies," he's the one whisking you away on a mission to get you moving again. he drapes his coat around you and tells you to get off your ass, the two of you are going on a job. he's gruff and blunt and can be dismissive sometimes, but he's also the one who makes sure you're taking care of yourself physically.

♡ things take a turn for the worse when ivan is kicked out of the guild. cana is not the type of person to take shit from anyone, so when laxus starts acting like a dick, she grabs you and leaves. you don't want to abandon laxus because you know how much ivan leaving hurt him (how much the lacrima hurt him), but you also can't stand him sneering at you or calling you weak.

♡ the second time laxus gives you his coat is when he leaves fairy tail. you sob before the fantasia parade, hitting laxus's chest and yelling at him for being an idiot and an asshole. you understand his frustrations with his father, with makarov, with the guild as a whole. you don't understand why he decided that trying to kill half of you was the way to go. "don't you understand that we all still care about you? even though you've been an asshole to everyone for years, you're still part of fairy tail!" you scream. it's the first time you've seen laxus cry. it's also the first, and possibly the last, time he initiates a hug.

♡ to your surprise, cana is the one who suggests the salute at fantasia. when you throw your hand in the air, you make eye contact with laxus, and you know this won't be the last time you see each other.

♡ laxus sends you updates. a letter here, a postcard there, sometimes he even sends a package to you. it's full of trinkets and knick-knacks and miscellaneous... stuff. "thought you'd like this shit. share some with the drunkard and the devil, will ya?" cana curses him out, but she and mira still sort through the box with all the care in the world. in return, you send him little photos of the guild, updates on your friends, and pictures of the embroidery you and mira have done on his coat (he might kill you for that, but you don't care as long as he comes back).

♡ when laxus returns to the guild, you go out of your way to pester him even more. he swats at you like you're a fly but he doesn't tell you to piss off like he would've before. he's more mindful of his words now. most of the times he'll pull you onto the bench next to him and trap you in a headlock so you stop prancing around.

♡ laxus is very much a tough-love kinda guy. he's also a grouch. and a grump. a real ebenezer scrooge. that doesn't stop you or cana from annoying the hell out of him, though. "laxus, do you want to go to this new cafe?" "no, the hell?" "but laxus :(( you almost fried me with your magic in the magnolia cathedral :((" "ugh, FINE."

♡ during the colder months, you shamelessly burrow into laxus's coat, with or without him in it. if you show up to the guild hall in it, the thunder tribe is immediately teasing laxus to hell and back. if you feel a chill in the air, you wrap the front flaps around yourself, cuddling against laxus. his expression remains the same (stoic and slightly scary), but no one can take him seriously when you're peeking out of his coat like a cat.

♡ overall, any kind of relationship with laxus is bound to be tumultuous. there are points where you think that might've been the last conversation you'd ever have, that fight was bad enough to ruin everything, or that might've been the final straw, especially with pre-tenrou laxus. when he's traveling, though, he realizes that he... misses fairy tail. he misses the stupid fights that give him a headache, he misses cana's insane drinking games, he misses your annoying, shitty, nice presence. so when he comes back, when his friends and family are kind enough to let him come back, he gives his all to repairing your relationship. laxus almost lost the people most important to him forever, and he won't let that happen again.

laxus is so peepaw in my head. idk why but he has major grandpa energy. he's a character I kind of struggle with because, once again, I don't love how his backstory and development were handled... but he is another source for angst! and I love angst!
