I'm currently working on queueing up chapters of Dragon's Choice, so have these semi-connected snippets featuring Oliver being teased for being his usual too-talkative self.

"Who can say?" Oliver chuckled, and finally took a bite out of his bread. He then raised the remaining piece towards Teresa. "Delicious as always," he said. "You might have found it more so had you eaten it while it was warm," she said dryly, but clearly used to this exact thing happening. She even smiled while she said it, something Patrice had not yet seen. "Naturally, naturally," he said. "Perhaps one of these days I'll manage it and compliment you properly."

"So young Oliver," Duke Marcus said, "fattening off of our hospitality again I see?" "What a stingy attitude, considering you're my future father-by-marriage. Besides, you know I'll make up for it. I’ll look over your account books later." "Much obliged. Did you at least manage to partake of your meal before it grew cold?"
