Thinking about IDs and stuff since my health card is expiring, and my passport will next year, and remembering it might me a good idea to get the gender marker on my passport changed to the one that will get me the least trouble, because when I was changing my name I was convinced to leave it

Mick Schumacher with a Southern girlfriend - Wedding Edition
*Disclaimer: I use Y/N and reader, but when I write this in my mind I see her as a tall plus size gal (mainly because that's my personal body type), but also because I really see Mick doing amazing with a woman like that. If there is anything I write that doesn't apply to you feel free to leave it out and like always feedback is always appreciated and loved!

~ Mick knew for a while that he wanted to marry you. There was no doubt about it in his mind. You were the woman for him. You gave him such a sense of comfort and home that no other woman ever gave him before.
~ He grew up watching his parents have one of the most beautiful love stories ever written and he saw that for him with you. It was like God knew what he needed in someone and put in all in a you shaped package.
~ Mick's family had a ranch in Texas and while you loved going to Texas and spending time on their ranch he knew that he couldn't propose to you there. Your family had land in another state (I'm getting a Virginia/Tennessee/North Carolina vibe here) and he knew how special that space was to you.
~ Gina and his mom were the first to know of his plans to propose. He knew this wasn't an over the phone conversation so he sat them both down. His mom cried happy tears and gave him such a bear hug. Her little boy was growing up and she was so happy to see him experience such a wonderful love.
~ In fact Mick went as far as to visit your parents while you were busy out of town at college wrapping up finals to ask their blessing. He knew he didn't need it, but you both were huge family people who were raised that family was pretty much the back bone of life.
~ He even asked your parents for their okay to use y'alls land to propose out of respect for it being their home.
~ Your mom, Gina, and his mom all helped him pick out the perfect ring. Your dad has the mission of being the one to go help you move out after finals saying your mom couldn't get off work when in reality they were ring shopping with Mick.
~ He ended up picking a ring similar to your grandmother's knowing how special she was to you and your mom almost cried.
~ Mick recruited the aid of your siblings in keeping up with the weather reports knowing how much loved snow and helping Mick put up lights.
~ A Christmas proposal that could only be rivaled by Hallmark was under way.
~ Mick knew you were so smart and would be sure to be suspicious if he was in town when you got back from college for Christmas break right away. However, your parents had the perfect plan to help him out. Your parents told you that for Christmas they had invited Mick and his family out to spend Christmas with you guys knowing how much it mean to you to spend the holidays together.
~ As soon as they got to the house your mom pointed out how nice the weather was and asked if you wanted to take Mick up to watch the stars like you two loved to do. Mick had greeted you with flowers at the airport when you picked them up, but that was nothing new. He loved to spoil you with flowers. As soon as you got to the top of the land you saw the lights all laid out and when you turned around for Mick he had already dropped to take a knee.
~ Something about the snow really made the blue of Mick's eyes pop and you knew your eyes weren't leaving his anytime soon. You were speechless and he knew that didn't happen often so he grabbed charge of the silence.
~ "Y/F/N Y/M/N Y/L/N I've fallen in love with you. Growing up we're read fairytales, but told they don't exist when we reach adulthood. You see life through a childlike joy with a compassion and love for life like I've never seen before. You make me feel at home every time I'm with you, regardless of where we are. I love you and I look forward to every second I spend with you. Thank you for making me believe in fairytales again. So what do you say, will you marry me?"
~ You couldn't say anything other than nod your head yes and pull Mick up to hug him tears threatening to spill from your eyes.
~ You didn't miss the cheers of both yours and Mick's family which had hiked up behind y'all all recording and taking photos. You were so enthralled with Mick and the proposal you didn't even notice them there.
~ You and Mick decided it would be best for you guys to wait until after your college graduation to get married knowing how stressful college was Mick didn't want to overwhelm you planning a wedding during that to.
~ You guys ended up getting married on his family's ranch in Texas three weeks after your college graduation in late May. It really was a full circle moment.
~ Mick is a shy guy, but you both knowing how important family is to y'all ended up having a huge wedding. The guests were mainly family and then some close family friends.
~ You don't know how you got so lucky, but you know that having a love so strong with Mick and your family by your side that you two could get through anything.

Liam, Maxwell and Bastien arrived back at the palace, early hours in the morning. A fusion of emotions were running through Liam’s mind being back home. One feeling he wasn’t feeling was happy, he wasn’t thrilled to be back to proceed with his royal duties. Although he was happy that Drake had managed somehow to convince Riley and Lucas to come to cordonia. After listening to her reiterate how badly his father had treat his family, he knew it must have been a difficult decision to consider.
Before meeting Riley and Lucas, Liam just accepted he was royalty and would have to follow the rules. Unlike Leo, he avoided relationships with nobles- needing to stick to royal protocols.
I used to be so tough
Never really gave enough
And then you caught my eye
Giving me the feeling of a lightning strike
“Are you okay Li?” Maxwell asked quietly, seeing Liam in a trance, staring vacantly at his screensaver.
“Sorry?”
“I asked if you was okay. You keep looking at the erm selfie.”
“Yes, I’m fine. I’m just missing Lucas.”
“Just Lucas?” Maxwell winked, he knew that Liam had some feelings towards Riley. Before she dropped the bombshell they had all discussed how beautiful she was - Liam stealing glances from her, his eyes lighting up, sparkling the room.
“Yes, just Lucas. He’s my nephew. Of course I’m going to miss him. I would have done anything to have known him from the minute he was born.”
“How about Riley?”
“What about her? She’s my sister in law, the mother of my nephew. She doesn’t feel anything towards me.”
“But do you?” Maxwell saw a slight blush creep on to Liam’s face.
“I ... I ... Max I need to go. I need to have a quick sleep, then discuss some matters with my father.”
Look at me now, I'm falling
I can't even talk, still stuttering
******
Drake, Riley and Lucas boarded the plane. Luckily they managed to get a ticket for the last flight of the night, saving them looking like homeless people stranded at the airport. Looking at the photos of her, Liam and Lucas- she couldn’t get him out of her mind. The way he bonded with his nephew- but the way he looked at her. That kiss that meant nothing at the time, was constantly on her mind.
I've got your photograph
But baby I need more than that
I need to know your lips
Nothing ever mattered to me more than this
“What’s up?” Drake asked, seeing her staring down onto her phone. “It’s a nice picture of you three.”
“It sure is.” Drake noticed her face turn a shade of red.
“Are you going to elaborate on that kiss you both shared? We have a long flight.”
“Are you some type of weirdo?”
“Quit with the name calling, you’ve already called me a sulking arsehole. And you avoided my question.”
“Drake there’s nothing to elaborate on. It was a kiss. A kiss is a kiss. He was grieving, he didn’t know what he was doing.”
“Oh he knew what he was doing.”
“Wha- you’re wrong.”
“I’ve known him my whole life, he doesn’t get himself involved with women. Only those who are special.”
“I’m his sister in law. He doesn’t feel that way towards me. Besides we only met yesterday.”
“Was his sister in law. Or should I say fake sister in law. How do you feel towards him?”
“I... I... I’m going to get some sleep, like Lucas. The whole timezone difference will affect me.” Drake shook his head laughing, he knew there was more she wanted to say- she was in denial.
Look at me now, I'm falling
I can't even talk, still stuttering
*******
Bastien escorted Liam to Constantine’s study- noticing Liam clench his fists, he placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Liam took a deep sigh, before walking into the room.
“Liam. I’m so glad you’re home safe. Did you have a good bachelor party? I hope you’re ready for the social season.”
“Father, I’m not having a social season. I don’t care what input you want in my life. But I’m not doing it. I will rule without a Queen.”
“No you will not! You are choosing a bride, a queen worthy for this country.”
“I have something to tell you. Leo has passed away. He took his own life after your impromptu visit to New York. I met Riley and Lucas- completely by fate.”
Bastien noticed the King was speechless for once, wondering if Constantine would feel any empathy towards his past actions.
“Why couldn’t you just allow him to be who he was? Why wouldn’t you allow him to have a traditional Cordonian marriage arrangement, which he and Riley decided to do between themselves. She is selfless and wanted your son to be happy.”
“Liam, I ... I ... couldn’t allow that. He was with a man.”
“So let’s put things into perspective. Say Leo was still the Crown Prince. And he married Riley but had an affair with one of the suitors- that would be acceptable? Or if he married Riley but she had an affair with me or someone like Lord Maxwell- that would be acceptable?”
“Yes. Those situations would be acceptable Liam. He was my son. He wasn’t that man that he thought he was.”
“Yes he was! I’ve seen pictures, I heard the stories. He was happy and you killed him. You have traumatised Riley, she walked in seeing his lifeless body. You have left his son without a father. His son who is adorable, he’s Leo’s double - he started walking yesterday when I spent time with him. Riley and Leo may have not loved each other the way you wanted them to, but they both loved Lucas and you tore that family apart. You said to Leo that he wasn’t your son. Well you are not my father anymore. Goodbye Constantine.”
“Liam, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologise to me. Apologise to Riley and Lucas when they arrive. Sorry seems to be the hardest word for you to express- so I think it’s a little too late. They should be here anytime soon. Drake is escorting them here. And if you lay a finger on her again, you’ll be wishing you didn’t. I’m not bluffing. I’m not having a social season.”
******
“Hey, sleeping beauty. You need to wake up.” Drake nudged Riley, he was concerned as she was screaming Leo’s name in her sleep- he decided that he needed to mention it to Liam when they arrived at the palace. Lucas had woken up briefly during the flight- but Drake didn’t want to disturb her. Instead he played with the little boy and rocked him back to sleep.
Fluttering her eyes open, she apologised for falling asleep for the whole flight- they landed and quickly got through passport control.
“So when is the other stray arriving?”
“A few days time. Work commitments.” Drake nodded, and escorted them to the SUV waiting for them. Bastien greeted them before informing Drake that Liam knew.
“Beaumont. I swear he hasn’t got a brain. Is Liam okay with them coming and for the lie I told?”
“His highness is thrilled Drake. He spoke to his majesty a couple of hours ago- informed him about Leo, but also refused to do the social season.”
“Why would he do that?” Bastien looked over at Riley, strapping Lucas in the SUV. Realisation hit Drake like a ton of bricks- he knew Liam never wanted a social season, but he wondered if there was more to the reasoning now.
The ride to the palace was silent, Lucas had drifted back to sleep. Riley was taking in the scenery- it was breathtaking. All she was used to was skyscrapers and pollution, the rush of people on the streets. Cordonia was peaceful, clean, culturally influenced and beautiful. Arriving at the their destination, she noticed Drake’s previous vacant face expression change- the thin edge of a grin appeared. Trying to read why his expression towards her could switch instantly, she was lost in thought- paranoid to say the least. The door opened slowly- she was expecting it to be Bastien, until she saw his baby blues.
“Good morning.” Liam held his hand out towards her, hoping she would accept it. Assisting her out of the car, he couldn’t help but admire her beauty yet again.
“How are you so awake? I need some tips on how to cope with the jet lag.” Riley said as she stretched her limbs.
“Whiskey, or there’s other ways...” Drake interrupted, glancing towards Liam laughing. Liam’s eyes widened, he knew what techniques Drake was referring to. They were always successful with the commoner- but not with Liam. He liked to have a quick nap, then keep his mind busy.
“Other ways?” Riley asked innocently. Liam coughed, needing to change the subject immediately.
“Ignore him. We will take your belongings to my quarters for now. I actually want to talk to you if you’re not too tired.”
“Sure, I suppose I better try and stay awake-to get used to the new timezone.”
As they left, Drake got out his phone and text Maxwell. He wanted to berate him for telling Liam that Riley was coming but he also wanted to place a bet with him.
Hey, gob on legs- just arrived at the palace. Fancy a bet? The odds can be decided later on- no backing out.
Hey buddy, sorry about that. I was half asleep- I didn’t know what you had text. I assume it’ll be fine though. What bet? The Derby isn’t for a couple of days.
Not the derby. I bet you that Liam makes a move on Riley before the ball tonight.
You’re on. But I think I better pay up now.
******
Arriving in Liam’s quarters, he poured her a coffee. Sitting at the table, the living area was as big as her whole apartment.
“My father is aware that you are visiting. But don’t worry. I’ve sorted it out. He won’t hurt either of you. We have a planned ball tonight, I was hoping that you’d attend?”
“Thank you, but I think I’ll give it a miss. Besides you’ll need to mingle with all the suitors.”
“They will be there tonight, yes. But they aren’t suitors. I’m not having a social season.” Riley nearly chocked on the coffee, trying to compose herself- she didn’t know what to say. She knew that the social season was an imperative duty for royalty. Patting her back, she was grateful but also frustrated- every touch made her stomach flutter. “If you don’t want to attend I’m not going to force you. But I’d be thrilled if you would.”
“I don’t think balls are intended for one year olds. I don’t think I’d be fully awake anyway. And besides I haven’t got a babysitter.”
“We have a royal nanny. So that problem is sorted. How much sleep does a Princess require? It doesn’t start for ten hours.” He said sarcastically but also flirtatiously.
“Call me ‘Princess’ again, your highness and I may have to commit treason.”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Wouldn’t I?” Raising her hand up, whilst winking she intended to pretend swiping him- his quick relaxes grabbed her arm, not in a forceful way- it was gentle.
“No...” Turning towards her and closer to her leaving little distance he whispered in her ear, she could feel his warm breath linger next to her ear. He knew she didn’t return the feelings that he had grown towards her instantly, but he couldn’t resist. Unable to fight against the thoughts that were going through him, the thoughts that were constantly on his mind. Her sweet scent, her smile, the way her baby blues sparkled, just her presence was flooding his senses now. Was it just lust? Or was there some meaning to his growing feelings.
Leaning his head closer to her neck, he softly kissed it- closing her eyes, her body was frozen. “Liam.” She barely whispered, it was more of a whimper. Hearing his name roll of her tongue, made him want her more than a friend - more than the fake sister in law. Pulling away he caressed her cheek, they fixated their gaze on each other. Looking deep into each other's baby blues - they were both filled with desire. Gently leaning towards each other- it was as if a magnet was pulling them closer, Riley made the first move kissing his lips as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her to sit on his knees. Unable to contain themselves or their feelings anymore, the previous slow delicate kiss soon turned into a fiery and passionate one, his hands worked their way around her body, feeling each curve, wanting to explore more. No words communicated. Just the touches made them both feel alive. Breaking the kiss, they both heard Lucas wake- sorrow in both their eyes, they sighed before smiling at each other. Riley removed herself off Liam’s knee, to see to Lucas.
“Riley?”
“Yes? What’s the matter?” Holding Lucas, she looked at him concerned. Liam wanted to ask how she felt about the kiss. She gave the impression that the first kiss was a mistake. A second kiss and flirting wasn’t a mistake in his eyes- but he couldn’t bring himself to ask her.
“I was just going to say, that your room is Leo’s old room- or there’s a spare room next to Drake’s. I was also going to say that if you want to catch up on some sleep, I don’t mind taking Lucas for a while.”
“Leo’s room? It’s fine. I’m sure you’re busy, I’ll take him for a walk or something.” Riley wasn’t sure about staying in Leo’s room, she was having nightmares still after that tragic night.
“Yes its next door. I’m not busy, I’d be honoured to spend time with him. And to spend time with his mommy later on.”
“Possibly.” Liam’s lips turned upwards, she didn’t say yes, but she didn’t reject the offer. “Erm, I wanted to ask, did Leo have a special place here?”
“Why? I wouldn’t exactly say that there was any special places.” Riley pointed to her bag, gesturing Liam to open it. He felt as if his heart had stopped, once realising what or who was in her bag.
“It’s not all of him, but I thought maybe he would like a piece of him to be in both his homes.” Liam tried to keep his stoic expression, but he couldn’t contain his emotions. Seeing Lucas’s lip tremble, he wiped his tears away knowing he had to stay strong for both Riley and Lucas.
“I’ll take yours and Lucas’s belongings to Leo’s room. Have a rest, I’ll take him.”
“Thank you Liam.” Liam smiled at her, he wanted to be more than than just her child’s uncle- he wanted to be her protector, someone she could trust.
All I wanna be, yeah all I ever wanna be, yeah, yeah- Is somebody to you.
*****
Liam left Riley in Leo’s room, acting strong deep down she was breaking down. She didn’t know if it was her imagination playing tricks on her, but she could smell his scent. Debating if she should move rooms, at least she would have Drake next to her for support. But Liam’s quarters were next door if she stayed in Leo’s room- Liam the man, the Crown Prince who had been constantly on her mind in this short amount of time. No matter how much she tried to remove him from her thoughts, he was unerasable.
*****
Walking through the palace grounds with Lucas in his arms, Liam thought he would take him to some sentimental places- a walk down memory lane.
“This Lucas, is where your daddy kissed his first girlfriend. Grandad Constantine wasn’t impressed. Daddy knew how to attract the women, possibly attract the men too. You’re going to be a heartbreaker when you’re older, just like he was. Keeping your Mommy on her toes.”
Ambling towards the maze, he sat down on the swing with Lucas in his lap. Slowly swinging the two of them- he felt content. Lucas began laughing at every swing- which filled Liam’s heart with joy. His thoughts remained on Leo, regretting that he didn’t make enough effort to keep in touch.
“When you’re able to run little man, Uncle Liam and Uncle Drake will teach you how to play maze tag....”
“But don’t cheat like your father did Lucas.” Drake interrupted, walking over to the two of them he knelt down and gave Lucas a high five.
“Where’s Riley?”
“She’s resting, she had bad jet lag.”
“Why didn’t you give her the jet lag cure?” Liam’s eyebrows raised up- believing that Drake should concentrate on his own non existent love life rather than meddle in his.
“We flirted. We kissed. She sat on my knee, I held her close. I wanted more Drake. I’m so confused.” Drake was eager to inform Maxwell that he had won the bet- but he knew Liam needed happiness as did Riley.
“Go and see her. If you want some alone time, let me know and I’ll take him to the stables to see the horses.”
*****
An ominous scream startled Riley out of her reoccurring nightmare; the pills, the empty bottle, the goodbye letter, her best friend - her fake husbands body hanging lifeless. The nightmare would still cling on to her mind for the remainder of her life- haunting her every time her eyes closed. Sitting up, her body was trembling surrounded in a cold sweat- her cheeks were damp, she didn’t know how many more tears her body could possibly shed.
The royal cotton bed sheets were twisted and trapped around her limbs, probably because she re-enacted her actions from that night in her sleep. The rushing to his body erratically attempting to loosen the homemade noose. Her heart pounded against her chest- she didn’t know how many more sleepless nights she could handle. It had been three months- and it wasn’t getting any easier. The sun shone through the blinds into the room, but she felt surrounded by darkness. Pulling the sheet over her head, she let out a terrified cry.
Liam opened the door, and witnessed Riley hiding under the sheets - he could hear her crying- his heart was breaking for her. Liam removed the sheet gently- seeing the mascara smudged over her face with the tears lingering. He wiped them away, shortly after he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer, holding her protectively. She sunk into the warmth of his side, his touch made the room warmer somehow. Suddenly there was a cold breeze that past the two of them- but soon disappeared. Not taking any notice of the sudden breeze, the two of them watched Lucas play with his clip on buggy toys- he was hypnotised. Liam still holding Riley- he noticed her breathing return to normal, she was still gripping onto his shirt tightly.
“Dada.”
Riley’s eyes widened, she gulped. Liam just assumed it was coincidence, baby’s his age picked up little words as they were learning. Scrutinising the room, she saw a figure in the corner- arms folded, legs crossed, providing that infamous cheeky grin. Closing her eyes, she hoped once they opened that it was an hallucination. Slowly and hesitantly, opening them- the man she recognised was looking at her, then at Liam, then at Lucas before returning his gaze on her.
“Leo.” She whispered, still holding tightly on to Liam- still in denial. Liam pressed a soft tender kiss on her forehead- oblivious to where her gaze was focused. The figure bent down to kiss Lucas, before coming closer towards Riley and Liam. Carrying on blinking, she wanted to run out of the room. He bent down in front of them, she saw the line across his neck. Reaching out for her hand, she flinched at the coldness.
“I love you my best friend. I love Lucas. Look after him. Li will look after you both. Forgive me?”
Closing her eyes, she kept reminding herself that it was her imagination playing tricks on her. Opening her eyes he was gone. Liam had left her sat on the bed. Playing with Lucas, he felt a hand on his shoulder- looking behind him there was no one there. Returning playing with Lucas- there was a whisper in his ear.
“I’m so sorry little bro. Look after them both for me. I love you.”

As Long As It Takes (“The End.” -Part 25) (Sebastian Stan x reader)
Tumblr media
Description: “I’ll wait for as long as it takes, as long as I get you at the end" You meet Sebastian Stan on the street in New York. What starts off as a fan encounter stretches to an unexpected coffee date and before long you’re caught up in a whirlwind and left with an internal struggle of what to choose.
Word Count: 4108
Warnings: Language.
Authors Note: As noted in the title, this is the final part to this story. Thank you for sticking with me through all of this. It has meant more than you’ll ever know. ALSO, in the process of moving my computer screen was destroyed so I’m trying to post all of this via the mobile app and we all know what a bitch that can be. Therefore, I apologize for the formatting issues that are found here. If it’s too annoying, you can find the story on Wattpad and AO3.
———————————————————————-
The following eight months seemed to rush by, yet move as slowly as slime simultaneously. You worked on getting your things and your life, in many ways, packed up and ready to move into this new chapter of your life.
Sebastian had to assure you multiple times a week that everything would be okay. You knew it in your heart but starting over somewhere new brought you anxiety some days, not to mention that packing to move was the worst experience of your life. When Sebastian had free time, he came down to assist in packing. The majority of the time not much packing was done, but instead laying in bed binging television and just enjoying each other's company. There were some instances, however, when Sebastian did help. The two of you went through your things, things you had retained in your possession all the way back into middle and high school.
"I have hoarding tendencies if you couldn't tell by now," you told him one time after the two of you had spent the last three hours looking through one tub of letters and pictures from way back when. The memories had brought back happy tears to you and much laughter for both of you.
"I love you regardless and I will officially put into my vows that I'll never submit you for that hoarders show."
"Ha-ha," you said the words out stocatto-like, drenched in sarcasm. Soon enough, September was ending and Green Day was calling your name. You had just shipped the last few pieces of furniture to Sebastian's apartment, it still felt weird to say our apartment, when a honking horn was directed at you. You smiled when you saw your friends, Beth and Caroline driving up.  As you hopped in, Beth addressed you first, "ready to go drop some dollar bills!!!" You couldn't help but roll your eyes.
"Please, please, don't tell me you're actually taking me to a strip club for my bachelorette."
"You'll just have to wait and see," Caroline peeped in. The three of you headed to the airport to board your awaiting plane. When you landed, your friend Talley was waiting for you at the gate. You embraced as you hadn't seen each other in a year or so. You all headed out and to your awaiting vehicle which Sebastian has lined up for you. The limo took you to the hotel where you met Olivia who had flown in from LA to be a part of your wedding party. The five of you decided to nap before heading out for the evening. Sebastian knew you were off limits until the wedding Sunday but you still planned to facetime.
"Hey, babe," Sebastian practically hollered at you once the call connected. You had to rip your headphones out of your ears to avoid hearing damage. "Oh, shit, I'm sorry," he attempted to apologize, not thinking about the headphone not being back in your ears yet. You got the headphones positioned back in your ears and smiled at the screen while talking small.
"You're feeling good, huh?" You chuckled lightly. It was obvious the boys had already gotten started. Seb's eyes were glassy and he had that dorky, albeit very tipsy, smile you loved so much plastered on his face.
"Yeah! We're about to head back out. These dudes, I swear, (y/n), I love them so much." His face quickly sobered. "Not as much as I love you, of course!" His face lightened again.
You busted out laughing as quietly as you could so not to wake anyone already napping.
"Thanks for that. Make sure you tell every one I said hello." The next thing you knew your ears were hurting again before you could remove the headphones.
"GUYS! HEY GUYS!! (Y/n) SAYS HELLO!!" You just barely heard a chorus of "Hey, (y/n)!" in response.
"Babe, you're going to end up marrying a deaf woman if you keep it up."
"Shit. I'm sorry...again."
"It's okay. Well look, I'll let you guys go so you ca-"
"(Y/n), Chris wants to talk to you. Here he is." You heard the phone drop to the floor and the pickup amidst of "Damn, Sebastian. Hey, man. Why don't you go sit down for a minute. I'll bring you the phone when I'm done talking to (y/n) so you can say goodbye." You heard Seb agree before you heard Chris' voice.
"Hey, (y/n), how are you?"
"Oh, I'm good. Not quite as good as y'all are, though, it seems."
"Not as good as Sebastian and some of the other guys, you mean. I'm good. I've only had a beer or two thus far. Someone's gotta keep an eye on these fellas."
"Honestly, Chris, why am I not surprised?"
"At what exactly?"
"That you're taking it easy so that you can keep an eye out."
"Yeah, well. It seemed like the thing to do."
"Well, I appreciate it, Chris. I mean. It's still early and if they're already that tipsy, there's no telling how crazy the night is going to get." You paused, mind swirling as an unsettling thought crept in. Before you could stop yourself you said it aloud. "Sebastian must be getting really nervous about getting married."
"Hey, hold on just a second." You heard a door open and shut and a few more seconds of little sound.
"I wanted to step out where it's a little quieter so we can chat without distractions. Why do you say that? That Sebastian is getting nervous?"
"Just forget it. I honestly didn't mean to. It just appeared in my mind and transitioned to my mouth."
"Well, it clearly bothers you so I think I shouldn't forget it until we talk about it or you talk about it with someone. I would put Sebastian on the phone but honestly, I don't know how much good it would be with his alcohol-filled headspace right now."
"Chris, I really don't think I want to talk about it," you replied even quieter than before.
"You may not want to, but I really think you need to."
"Look, the thought literally just came out of nowhere because of him being so wasted so early. It just seems like a lot of alcohol very early in the evening. I know sometimes he tends to drown out his concerns with alcohol, not always, but sometimes. God, I make him sound like an alcoholic. He's not, Chris, and that's not how I meant it."
"I know, (y/n), I know."
"Maybe I'm the one that's nervous about getting married."
"No, I don't think you are. I feel like you've never been more sure of anything." His response couldn't help but make you giggle.
"You're right, actually."
"I thought so."
"For what it's worth, I think Sebastian feels the same way. I know I've told you before but I've never seen him this happy in my years of knowing him. I think he just is happy to be back together with his buddies he hasn't seen in a while and they were wanting to drink so he joined can.” He paused. "Man, I make him sound like a peer pressured teen." He started laughing and you joined him.
"You really did to be honest. Awww, teenage Seb. I wish I had known him then."
"Has Georgeta shown you the photo albums yet?"
"We've made it through his second year. That's it, though." He guffawed at this info.
"Well, the good news is, after Sunday, you'll have the rest of your lives to look through them."
"It'll probably take that long too," you giggled. A moment passed. "Thanks for talking with me about the irrational fear that creeped in for a moment. Everyone here is napping so I'd have no one else to talk to about it."
"Of course, (y/n), you're one of my best friends. That means we're here for each other. If you need to chat at anytime all you have to do is pick up the phone. You know that, right?"
"Yeah, I suppose I do, despite that I never really think to do so, honestly. That goes both ways. You know that, don't you?"
"I do. Oh God, I hope Sebastian doesn't hear because you realize we just both said 'I do''s, don't you?"
"Oh hell, we did didn't we?"
"Yeah, but I'll keep it on the down low." You laughed.
"Thanks, Chris. I was so worried you were going to show up and try to move in with me," you said sarcastically. "Granted, I'm unsure where you'd move into since I currently an homeless." You could practically hear his eyes rolling in his head.
"You're not homeless, dramatic."
"Well, technically I am still in transition. I'm just saying."
"In transition my ass. All of your shit is here and unpacked."
"No, it's not."
"The stuff you have in your suitcase doesn't count."
"No, but the majority of my stuff is still in boxes spread throughout Sebastian's apartment." He took a moment before answering.
"(Y/n), it's not, I swear to you. I have yet to see a box and I've been here all afternoon." You began to think and wonder because you had literally FaceTimed Seb before the girls picked you up and the only things you had shipped were furniture pieces so all boxes had already made it up there. In fact, Sebastian had tripped over a box of your things while you had been on the call.
"I don't understand." How in the world would he have gotten rid of all of the boxes.
"Hold on a sec." You heard rusting on Chris' end of the line. "Oh shit," you heard him say quietly and you could almost see him looking down in frustration. "(Y/n), I'm so sorry. I think I just ruined a surprise."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"I think Sebastian unpacked everything for you and had already put it around the apartment. I bet he wanted you to feel right at home and wanted to surprise you by having everything unpacked when you guys got back. He's already separated his closet and one side is all of your clothes. Shit, (y/n), I'm so sorry."
Your eyes began to tear up, touched by how thoughtful and time consuming this gesture had to have been. He must have only had a few boxes left when you had FaceTimed.
"Oh, Chris. It's okay." You sniffled.
"Oh, God, please don't cry. I feel like shit already."
"No!! No, it's not that. I'm not upset. I'm just touched by his gesture."
"Oh, thank God. I was worried for a minute there."
"Well, look, I need to get off of here and take a nap. Thank you for keeping an eye on him, all of them, tonight. I really appreciate it, Chris. You have no idea how much I do. I know we're not supposed to see each other before Sunday but will you please let me know if anything happens and I need to be there? Or if you need backup because I feel like it's gonna get pretty rowdy."
"Well, you may be right about that, but I can handle it."
"Chris. You have Seb, Mackie, Chase, and Chu. Just those alone are enough to cause concern. Let alone the other four.” Chris busted out laughing in response.
"That is very true. Okay, I'll call if I need backup, I promise."
"Thank you. Also, don't take this the wrong way because I love all of them, but for God's sake don't let Seb promise anyone another spot on the groomsmen team. Please promise me that."
"I got you, (y/n). I'll keep them in line and out of the groomsmen line," he said chuckling.
"Thank you, Chris. Seriously, all joking aside, thank you. I forever owe you for all of this."
"Don't mention it."
"Don't mention what?" You teased.
"Oh okay, smartass. Let me go tell Mackie you added him to the wedding party."
"Shit. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." You both began to laugh again.
"Alright, well I'll let you go so you can nap and I can check on the boys. It's awful quiet out there."
"Yeah, you better go, then. I’ll talk to you later and thanks again."
"Anytime, see ya."
You quickly fell asleep. The next thing you knew, you were being awoken by Caroline and Beth jumping up and down on your bed.
"Damn, you guys." You tried to remain serious but couldn't stop yourself from grinning.
"Let's party!!!" They dragged you out of bed and quickly into an almost endless night of fun. After brunch you all finally headed back to the hotel to rest. Vegging out with plenty of laughs, catching up, and chick flicks were all in order on the night before you married the man of your dreams. Sunday came and the wedding went off without a hitch, surprisingly. You all danced the evening away before Sebastian and you headed out for your two-week honeymoon on a 2am flight.
Your honeymoon was spent traveling through Italy, Romania, and the Philippines. Before you both knew it, it was time to return to your home in NY. Sebastian still had a few weeks off of work so you two spent practically every moment together. Once he was down in Atlanta, you decided that you'd begin a job hunt, looking for something part-time. It worked out that Sasha happened to need some extra help around the shop so you stepped in. Since Sasha knew the inner-workings of you and Sebastian's relationship, the job at the shop gave you something to do and some income while he was away yet the freedom to visit him when it was convenient for the both of you. About a year and a half after you were married, you surprised Sebastian on set in Greece.
"Babe!!!" He exclaimed entering his trailer, running to you, picking you up, and spinning you.
"Sebastian," you squeezed his neck, "oh, I've missed you...so fucking much." You kissed him as he released you back to the floor.
"Oh, that goes both ways," he quietly replied after your lips parted. You both smiled softly but only for a moment. "So, babe! What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
"Ahm, Sebastian, babe. It's called a surprise," you responded sarcastically.
"Oh, thanks for the info. I had no clue." He rolled his eyes back at you.
"I just missed you!"
"Well, I'm so fucking psyched you're here. How long are you here for or is that a surprise too?" Now it was your turn to roll your eyes.
"No, that's not a surprise. I'm only here a couple of days. I have to be back to work on Monday." Seb's face dropped a little bit. "Sure I can't call Sasha and work something out?"
"Don't call her. She doesn't know I'm here."
"What?" His eyes grew in size. "You didn't tell Sasha something? Since when?"
"Oh, hush!"
"I'm serious!! You told her about that one night that I had to go to the doctor the next day after what we did. It was like you couldn't wait to laugh at me behind my back. Actually I take that back, you laughed in my face. It was like you couldn't wait to have other people laugh with you." You attempted not to bust out laughing in his face once again. "Go ahead, laugh. I can tell you want to. Your face is about to turn purple from you holding it in." You complied and had to bend over as you couldn't stop laughing. He took your arm to keep you from tumbling over. Once you caught your breath again, you leaned back up, thanking him for the laugh and for steadying you.
"Okay, so a little bird told me you get off around seven tonight?"
"Who've you been talking to?"
"A little bird. I just said that."
"Well, you're right so you must have been talking to someone important or at the least, correct," he laughed.
"So dinner tonight?"
"Of course. Then a little dessert?" He winked seductively. "Actually, how about a lot of dessert? Maybe a couple of dessert trips?" He waggled his eyebrows at you. You slapped his chest.
"Stop, Seb. I get it, okay."
"I mean, it's been a month."
"Seb, I get it!" He pulled you by the hips to him, your face flushing.
"Okay, I'll stop...talking about it. But is it a possibility?"
"Dessert is a possibility."
"Wait. Just to be clear...dessert or," his voice dropped to a gruff tone, "dessert?"
"It'll be a surprise." He smiled, reading your mind. No surprise would be had that night. The next morning, however, Sebastian had a big, slightly prankish, surprise waiting for him. He had left you asleep in the hotel suite and headed to work. He stepped up to his trailer on set to go in and get ready, or so he thought. When he opened the door, about 30 pink plastic bodies slid out of the trailer. He was shocked but then he realized what the pink plastic bodies were. He couldn't see anything but plastic bodies inside his trailer.
"Surprise!!!" You shouted behind him about 10 feet off. He spun around quickly, jaw dropped in shock.
"Wait. What??" He said as a ponderous smile began to spread across his face and his eyes ignited with joy. "Are you saying???"
You simply nodded with a painful cheeky grin. He ran to you, picking you up into a bear hug lifting you off the ground in the process.
"We're going to be parents!!!" He shouted for anyone in earshot to hear. Little did he know most everyone on set already knew as you had roped them into helping you with the surprise. Everyone came out of the woodwork, or rather, from behind trailers, props, and inside the building, clapping and cheering, passing on their congratulations.
Later that evening after Sebastian got off of work, he rushed back to the hotel but when he walked in you were asleep. He fixed himself some breakfast for dinner. As he turned around to plate the food, he saw you standing next to the island.
"Shit. Did I wake you up? I'm so sorry."
"Sebastian, it's okay. I didn't mean to fall asleep, it just happened. I wanted to be awake when you got back."
"Are you hungry?? I'll fix some food real quick...for both of you." You smiled and walked leisurely to him, putting your arms around his back and interlocking your fingers behind him.
"I think we're fine for now. We ate a lot earlier. Thank you, though. We both appreciate it."
Sebastian lowered himself to one knee and placed his hand on your stomach despite that no one could really tell you were pregnant yet.
"I can't believe you're here, little one," he said caressing your stomach. You ran your fingers through his hair as he continued to speak softly to the baby and sneaking butterfly kisses here and there.
"You're going to make a great dad, you know."
"You're going to make an even better mom."
"We shall see. I have said for about seven years now that the only way I'd have kids was if they were yours. I couldn't deprive the world of little Sebastians running around."
"I can't wait to meet her."
"You want a girl," you asked incredulously. He stood up to his full height and pulled you close.
"Yeah, I want the world to have a little you running around." You shook your head and chuckled lightly into his chest.
"I love you, Sebastian." After a moment, his hands moving to your arms and leaning you back quickly he exclaimed,
"Wait! So you're telling me, you knew you were pregnant...and we did ....what we did last night!?" You burst out laughing.
"Seb, you can have se-" his hand flew over your mouth stopping your sentence short.
"Shhh!! She doesn't need to know about," he whispered and then softened his whisper even more to finish, " s-e-x yet." You couldn't help but giggle at how silly he was being and he removed his hand.
"Seb. Babe. Stop." You continued laughing. "You're being ridiculous."
"How long have you known?"
"A couple of weeks."
"So...you mean the last time we...before last night, of course."
"A month and a day ago, yes." You grinned.
"I just can't believe this. I'm as happy as I've ever been."
"Me too, babe. Me too."
You went back home. After another couple of months, Seb was home and on hiatus from work for the following two years. In the meantime, he didn't miss a moment of your pregnancy, the child, Sophia Faye Stan coming into this world, or her first year of life. After Sophia had passed the age of three, Sebastian and you began trying again and it wasn't long before soon you were pregnant again. This time you got the little Sebastian you had been hoping for. Mihail Stan was born in May two months to the day before his sister's fourth birthday. Sebastian continued to work but it was less frequent typically only working a couple of months a year and limiting PR so that he could spend time with you and the kids. Your little family purchased two homes, both near enough to either side of the family so that the kids could know their grandparents better. Your family spent three-fourths of the year in NY as it had become your home since moving and the remainder of the time in NC with trips down in between visits. After Mihail had gotten to the age of two it worked out that a new child came into the family but by adoption this time. Rosamie Sampaguita Stan came into your lives on December 22nd. Adopted from an orphanage in the Philippines, Rosamie was dropped off at the orphanage and no one had been able to track down her parents for the past year of her life. She brought so much joy and a feeling of wholeness to your little family.
By the time the kids got to high school, Sebastian decided to limit his work even more. He stuck to jobs that would be local and didn't require travel. You continued your photography business you started after Rosamie turned six. Sophia pursued acting, like her father, but studied at Syracuse. Mihail grew up loving animals and became a veterinarian, moving to North Carolina to attend vet school at NC State. He graduated with honors and moved to Boone to open his own practice. Rosamie remained close to you. She loved to dance and after studying dance at Juilliard, she opened up her own studio downtown, purchasing a home just a few blocks from the quaint two bedroom home you and Seb downsized to after she graduated college.
The remainder of your days were spent with joy and love. You welcomed the sons-in law and daughter-in-law and adored the grandchildren you were blessed with. It was a beautiful 45 years of wedded bliss.

I can't believe it's finally over. A part of me has died as I have enjoyed writing this story so much. Thank you to all of those who read and enjoyed. I'm eternally grateful for your kind words and eyes. I want to quote "Chuck Shurley/a prophet/ God" in Supernatural to finish everything out:
"Endings are hard. Any chapped-ass monkey with a keyboard can poop out a beginning but endings are impossible. You try to tie up every loose end, but you never can. The fans are always gonna bitch. There's always going to be holes. And since it's the ending, it's all supposed to add up to something. I'm telling you they're a raging pain in the ass...So what's it all add up to? It's hard to say...No doubt, endings are hard. But then again, nothing ever really ends, does it?"

Remembering Mikey Post!
I vividly remember waiting in line for a coffee in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport during the July 2004 National Little People of America Conference. I felt the most positive energy coming from a table to the right of me. Immediately after I purchased my coffee, I went over to the table and introduced myself to Mikey Post. He was so kind and full of energy. Before I knew it, we were running around the lobby “borrowing” our other new friend’s flip flops. Unfortunately, one flip flop was lost and we only returned one to the owner. However, Mikey never stayed in trouble for too long. He quickly earned forgiveness with his contagious smile and incredible persona. San Francisco happened to be the 2nd convention that Mikey and I attended. I was 20 and he was 22. The prior year in Boston was our first, even though we didn’t meet each other that year. A year out of touch went by but we crossed paths again at the 2005 convention in Orlando.
Shortly after the Orlando convention, Mikey moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. Less than a year later, we started talking about my ambitions, which included moving from Boston to Los Angeles, and my past internship experiences behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. Before I was about to finish college, I decided to visit some friends in LA. Mikey was already living there. While we were in the car together one day, we spoke about how we wanted to plan to be roommates sometime in the future. He later convinced his talent manager at the time to offer me a job to support her work. That led to my move to LA in August 2006. Since Mikey already had a roommate at the time, I started off living with friends who were a couple. About a year later, I convinced Mikey to move to the first floor of the apartment building where we were living. Six months after that, my roommates moved out and Mikey moved upstairs into the two-bedroom apartment with me. We were roommates, for all but six months of the next four and a half years.
Part of being a little person is that you have the opportunity to meet other little people along the path of life who begin to have a strong influence on your life. Of all of the little people I’ve ever met, Mikey had the strongest influence on my life. He was the best roommate and best friend.
Mikey and I always joked around but sometimes my gullible self would take things a little too seriously. I recently came across an old e-mail that Mikey sent me. This was after I had spent some time visiting with my family in Boston. He wrote: “Hey Bee (his nickname for me), just wanted to send you an email and let you know how much I really did miss you this weekend. I know I joke around a lot and act kinda mean to you, but you really mean a lot to me. Like Papa said, "you are one of the best friends I've ever had." I think he is very right. You are someone who I am never uncomfortable around and we never have any sort of awkward silence. I really did miss you and our friendship while you were gone. I love you very much. Have a great day.”
Mikey and I had a lot in common. We both liked to have fun and we had a strong interest in changing perceptions of little people both in front of and behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. We built relationships that ultimately helped influence some of that change. Whenever I came across a script that I knew Mikey could have an acting role in, I read it to make sure that it was an appropriate positive role before sending it to him. I never wanted to waste his time. Although some offers were lucrative, Mikey never took a role that would intentionally harm the perceptions of little people.
Mikey also served as my cheerleader and my rock after I would come home from any stressful day at work. Wherever there was a need, he helped me and I helped him. We cooked our favorite recipes, which included and may have been limited to vegetarian stuffed peppers and vegetable chili, together. We loved going out to restaurnts and splitting either salmon, sushi rolls or shrimp stir fry. He helped me realize that the road to success is a journey and we should celebrate every milestone along the way.
In May 2012, while we were living in West Hollywood together and his acting success was rising, Mikey started telling me about some weird symptoms he was experiencing. This ultimately led to his ALS diagnosis. Regardless, I never heard him say a negative thing, even though he was in a lot of pain. Soon after Mikey’s symptoms worsened and I left my job at the time, we both moved back to our hometowns. Mikey to Atlanta and me to Boston.
As Mikey’s ALS progressed, we remained in close contact, through whichever method of communication worked for him at each in moment time. We had fun using the costume features on Google chat. Whenever my schedule would allow, the Post family welcomed me into their home, with open arms. A group of us stayed there while gearing up Atlanta Walk to Defeat ALS, immediately following the 2015 success of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Our team raised over $50,000 that year. New Years Eve with some of my other favorites at the Post house was always filled with snacks and fun too!
I was fortunate to recently spend a week with Mikey, while ringing in the new year of 2018. Although, he could no longer speak, he sent me a Facebook message at the end of the trip. Mikey wrote, “It's been nice just having you here, so if you ever need an office, come back anytime!” That was so sweet because I had started a new job that allows me to work remotely. His hospitality was so warm and inviting. We exchanged a few messages after that but that trip and message will always stand out.
For those of us who are able, let’s continue to walk to defeat ALS and contribute what we can to ALS research towards Mikey’s goal of finding a cure for this dreaded disease, so that others will someday not have to endure what he had. Mikey had hoped to see that in his lifetime. Let’s continue to work towards making that that happen as soon as possible!
Let us all honor Mikey’s life by approaching any adversity we should face in the future with the same grace, courage and positive attitude with which he did.
I wanted to share a poem that was shared on Facebook and seems to sum up Mikey’s feelings for all of us.
DON’T CRY FOR ME
Don't cry for me. I will be okay.
Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay.
Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong.
I want you to be happy and try to stay strong.
Don't cry for me. It was just my time,
but I will see you someday on the other side.
Don't cry for me. I am not alone.
The angels are with me to welcome me home.
Don't cry for me, for I have no fear.
All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears.
Don't cry for me. This is not the end.
I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again.
Even though we lost Mikey way too soon, he lived more in his 35 years than some people live in 100. You’ll always have a place in my heart, Mikey Post.
Thank You!
