#Now there's also the question of whether or not Oscar's contract stipulates that he *can't* be made a second driver

To be clear, it’s not that they raced each other, it’s that Oscar compromised the race result and almost crashed them both out. It would’ve been fine if he made the move after they built up a gap, but doing it at T4 invited Charles through and completely compromised the entire strategy for the rest of the race
I mean I get the frustration, I have felt the same with Carlos when he's raced Charles really aggressively. But I do still think it's something you have to expect when you have two drivers that are closely matched. Sometimes it's going to be fantastic racing and sometimes they're going to misjudge the margins.
I don't think that there's anyway to guarantee that Oscar trying to overtake Lando (or vice versa) doesn't potentially open the door to another driver. This is always a risk when attempting an overtake ("Through goes Hamilton" for example), though I will give you more detrimental when it's teammates racing hard.
So it seems to me that McLaren needs to decide to either officially prioritize Lando and put Oscar under stricter orders, or things like this will keep happening. I know what I would prefer as a fan of hard racing but with no skin in the McLaren game, but I don't think there's a way out of this problem without naming an official second driver.
