♞ - what is your favorite brave thing that your character has ever done?

this is honestly a tough one ! there's a lot of brave stuff that they both have done that I really liked and am proud of, especially in regards to kaey. like they're both very brave, or try to be. I'm just gonna go with the first that came to mind XD

for shade, in her bg3 lore, my favorite act of bravery was her not only choosing to go to the shadow-cursed lands, but also choosing to stay. dedicating herself as a ranger and guide, basically choosing exile from baldurs gate ! she didn't give up, even when it was hard and she was alone. and she has always struggled with loneliness, to satisfy that part of her soul, yet she persevered through it not just because she felt she needed to, but she wanted to do what she was doing.

and for kaey, gosh. he has shown so much bravery, and I love him for all of it. yet, I think arguably the bravest thing he ever did was defy aleksey. its an integral part of his development and storyline ! even before he ran, he tested the limits of alekseys tolerance. and maybe at first it was an effort to get himself killed, but he couldn't just. he never could just lay down and accept death, even as a kid. his defiance became the spork he used to gradually tunnel his way out. and he kept at it. despite everything aleksey did and threatened to do to deter him !

but if I need a specific instance, he was a brave kid running the first time, and then choosing to go back of his own freewill to protect henri. he's always been selfless, putting the people he cares about first, but I think this was the first time he actually knew the weight of his actions. this was the first time he was aware of the stakes; its one thing to put yourself in front of another person out of gut instinct, and another completely to look the consequences in the face and accept them. I hope that makes sense. also, henri does commend him for his actions when they reunite and he becomes aware of what transpired when kaey left. I know that's not really important but it matters to kaey a lot. ; A ;
