When I found out that sichuan peppercorns were a type of citrus suddenly everything started to make sense it's kind of the same feeling as reading higurashi meakashi
#Like wow...#No seriously sometimes when i had dried oranges with the rind i'd wonder why my tongue feels all numb and weirdly cold#And when I have dishes with sichuan peppercorns in them i'd wonder why it tastes so lemony and citrusy#It's just one of those things that you least expect but also know it makes perfect sense#Sidenote out of all the chinese cities i went to i miss chengdu the most SO much the food the pandas the infrastructure
