Question from an anxious/social phobic person;;;
How do you talk about Ships??????? I want to share more about Silvaire + Krile and the dynamic between them, and the way they high-key slow-burn from the get go [to only now during dawntrail catching feelings its hella fun narrative]. To talk about it all cause its important to me... but its also so much info.... and just tons of smaller small building blocks...... I care about them very much and have for such a long time but I've just... hoarded it all in my brain cause Fear tm.
Do you just.... start saying things? Do you go from the start? Do you make content only?? Is making novelizations of content too much?? I enjoy making long-spanning content.... but is that 'too much content'??? Or is laying out cute lists or bulletpoint narratives too little??? I know the term 'cringe is dead' is a thing but damn does my phobias make me hypocritical!!!
#[idle talks]#[I see other WoL x Krile - or other npcs - and they're always so cool!!!!! so pretty and full of love!!!]#[I love seeing others ships they make me very happy!!]#[Come to my own though then I just get scared It wouldn't garner the same for others... idunno!]#[probably just my phobias tatlking and it's hard to discern the difference]#[so advice on how to start - somewhere idk a starting point - would help!]

been playing bits and pieces of horizon forbidden west! game's pretty as hell
#horizon forbidden west#photo mode#my edits#yannow. it got me thinking too. the npc fidelity in this game is off the fucking shits. never seen anything like it#even secondary dialogues are leaving all the competition in the dust. it's an insane level of work#major burnout red flags for sure. but also maybe talking about engines as specialized tools instead of ubiquitous ones isn;t so bad?#i mean there's definitely trends. ramming down RPGs down frostbite's throat has never worked well#while decima is tearing up the open worlds and tech fidelity quotas like nbd even on prev gen#is it really about implementation at this point#maybe some engines just. work best for certain types of hard goals. and choosing that right is what matters#i pkayed this after ragnarok and that game looks embarassing next to hfw. and I'm not even saying it flippantly. I stand by what i've said#shorter games less scope lower fidelity etc. for healthier dev teams. but this can be a scalability tell tale? maybe using something#like decima can mean an easier time for a standard EA dev cycle *without* hitting these insane fidelity goals. just thinking out loud#cause forever salty about frostbite. probably wrong but hey! I am on a blogging website famous for its phobia of deeper contexts#or maybe playing as aloy gave me that stupid self confidence juice#the way she bulldozes into delicate foreign policies with nothing but her ego and hutzpah really proves that whiteness is alive and well#in whatever variant of post-post-apocalypse this story is set into. they better interrogate her issues cause otherwise this plot will like#fizzle out under the weight of her self-righteousness lmao

WELCOME TO SEAFLOOR'S FFXIV ALL SAINTS WAKE GPOSE CHALLENGE!
The purpose of this challenge is simple: it's a fun excuse to do some Halloween-inspired GPOSES that will hopefully expand peoples' creativity, confidence and connections in the community! Be frightful, be fun, be quirky and esoteric!
Please use the tag #seafloor saints wake if you participate and consider joining our community!
FAQ
Is it mandatory to complete every prompt? Not in the slightest! Do as many or as few as you like; double up on prompts or do sixteen MAGIC SPELLS for all I mind! This is about you guys having fun. The challenge exists for people who like that kind of thing, but the prompts are meant to be fun and accessible.
Is the use of mods/shades/tools okay? Yes, of course! Whilst there'll be bonus kudos points if you structure a costume or scene using in game items/means, there's no penalty for going beyond it.
What about NSFW (gore, sexual or otherwise)? Use common sense and appropriate tags as necessary, especially for common fears and phobias. I obviously cannot control what Tumblr sees as being too much, but the general rules for SEAFLOOR apply where possible. Additionally, the prompts don't have to be scary or sexual at all! If you want to pose your OC as a Disney Princess seven times in a row, you can absolutely do that.
Where do I post works? Hopefully your Tumblr blog, silly, but you can also reblog them to the SEAFLOOR Tumblr Community or join us on Discord! If someone posts their work in either of those spaces, consider reacting with a piece of candy! 🍬 It's a fun, easy affirmation if you're not to sure how to tell them you like their work otherwise.
I've got no one to pose with for the couple's cosplay! NPC's are fine, or you can reach out and ask if anyone else participating in the challenge is willing to lend their oc. Always consent check the content/pose first before posting it publicly, but you can use this as an excuse to pose with people you might not have before.
Is there a prize? SEAFLOOR Discord members get a fancy, cosmetic role! Otherwise, no. Maybe I'll make up some candy and distribute it around Halloween, or we can all dress up and get together closer to the date. I'll keep you posted!
Anything else? If I think of it, I'll post it here!
#・゚゚・ — sea speaks#seafloor saints wake#I'M SURE I HAVE FORGOTTEN SOMETHING...#i'll sort it in post#i would have waited but listen to me#my community are enablers#(this is affectionate)

Foreshadowing in Omori and its manga: a critique
I'm back again, although it's been a while since I've written anything. I'm waiting on more Dreamscape chapters to formulate an analysis on Mari.
Omori Spoilers and Omori Manga Spoilers under the cut
Omori has poor foreshadowing, in the manga and the game, but for different reasons. And I can tell from one chapter.
Firstly, a rundown on the narrative device itself - foreshadowing provides an advance hint toward the events of the story. It's a very common device, but it's actually relatively difficult to do well. There's a very fine line between too obvious and too subtle, especially with the expectation of twists.
Foreshadowing in these types of psychological horror games tends to be very subtle, take Doki Doki as an example, and further foreshadowing in games like Yume Nikki is so subtle that the reality of the world isn't even evident at all. While this can be frustrating for the players, it's actually incredibly important, allowing you to theorise and discuss.
In the original Omori game, foreshadowing was often too abstract and subtle to be properly understood by a player - and this was fundamentally because there foreshadowing was so widespread, it overwhelms the player as they attempt to discover the truth.
Let me cite an example. Daddy Long-Legs belongs to a group I'll call the "Truth creatures" - characters like Stranger, the various Somethings, Hellmari, Phobias etc. He exists in a portion of Pyrefly Forest which foreshadows the truth of Headspace. But he's purposeless as a character otherwise, he only appears in a corner of Black Space 2 that is practically inaccessible to those on the Truth route. Why would you introduce a new character, one who becomes irrelevant, to foreshadow a part of the game that would be far better foreshadowed by Stranger? Someone who is actually relevant? This convoluted choice feels unnecessary, adding characters for the sake of subtlety.
In a similar way, the Somethings, Phobia bosses and Hellmari are loosely linked, and it's not quite explicit where each comes from and the relevance of each to the truth. Where's the distinction between the Mari Something and the others? Where does the game show me an explicit difference between the formation of Something and the formation of the Phobias? Why aren't Hellmari and Something more related, considering the events that formed them? A better foreshadower would be able to accurately make these distinctions, leading to overall better contrast between the recital day and the formation of the Phobias.
This is also incredibly obvious in Black Space, where the foreshadowing and symbolism ramps up. I will say it here, there is no way anyone will ever understand the purpose and analysis of every single area, object and NPC in Black Space. As a result, while it feels magnificent, there's so much that feels pointless, as well. This worked in Yume Nikki because it is very focused on this premise of "no real truth", but since Omori has a real truth and a real reason for Black Space's existence, it makes so many objects and areas feel pointless to analyse and overthink. Again, it's this insistence on adding things upon things to make foreshadowing far too abstract and impossible to understand.
Music and its importance to the truth was also very poorly foreshadowed. While I can understand, from a repression perspective, why Mari playing the piano or Sunny playing the violin was only very very subtly foreshadowed in the music itself, there is a point where you do need to make it obvious to the players, otherwise it feels like this idea of Sunny playing the violin is just thrown onto the players with no real interrelation. Similarly, Mari's character was far too hidden, where it isn't evident at all that Mari is a human with emotions - she's portrayed as a God the entire game. Again, too much subtlety has led to story beats feeling out-of-place and underrepresented.
However, in the manga, foreshadowing makes events very obvious to the reader, making me question the goals of this manga at all - are you really going to introduce Omori to new audiences in such a rushed and evident way? Making everything obvious and clear, when foreshadowing was such a key element to the original game? The whole point of the twist was it was completely unexpected!!
Immediately as we get into the manga, it's already obvious that Mari and violins are relevant to the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if the dialogue that Mari speaks during the Hellmari sequence is related to the argument between Mari and Sunny on the recital day, and I would be so disappointed if they chose to immediately out key dialogue that was not present in the original game.
Furthermore, why on Earth would you immediately reveal the hidden part of Mari's character in the first chapter? Mari is supposed to be perfect, at least in Sunny's mind. The game absolutely goes too far with this - it was a fundamental failure to have no dialogue in the Truth segment, as it led to so many misinterpretations of Mari as a character - but you choose to reveal her anger and humanity now???? NOT LATER??? NOT LIKE A BIT LATER?? SO WE CAN PERCIEVE HER AS PERFECT??
I'm not even going to get into the mischaracterisation of Aubrey, portraying her as evil and horrible without the very necessary exploration of how her relationship with Kel influences her actions.
I want to have faith in the manga. I want to enjoy it, but, just, the pacing and foreshadowing is already off. I'm worried. At least the horror art is gorgeous.
a summary of this analysis. HOW THE FUCK DID YOU MESS UP FORESHADOWING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS??
song i listened to while writing
i've been obsessed with the beef recently, it's so funny.

There are many fears and phobias in this world but none like the unknown. The fear of the unknown is one of the biggest as it encompasses many things. It’s like what they says, curiosity kills the cat.
This is my partner’s original character I drew a bit of a while ago now. It’s a very cool character that is the fear of the unknown as a creature. It shape-shifts into many things but mostly takes this form. My partner also uses this character in dnd as either a playable character or a cool Npc.

Welcome!
If you're struggling to find the rules for this blog, they're below the cut. Also, if you're a Slay the Princess fan, check out my other blog, @stp-imagines!
Be patient. I am a single person struggling with chronic fatigue. I will try to get to requests as quickly as possible, but some wait time should be expected, particularly with imagines.
Be kind. Again, I am a single person, and my perspectives and interpretations of the characters may be different to yours. Be respectful when interacting with this blog, please.
No bigotry allowed. I will not tolerate any form of discrimination on this blog, whether it be LGBTQ+phobia, racism, ableism, religious discrimination, or anything along these lines.
Specify if a request is a headcanon or imagine. Headcanons are bulletpointed lists of, well, headcanons. Imagines are full one-shots. I will write the same request as both headcanons and an imagine, but not in the same ask.
Be specific. This greatly increases the likelihood you’ll get a satisfactory response. In particular, if it isn’t specified, I will assume the “reader” in each scenario is the Chief.
Please request no more than three characters in a headcanon, and no more than two in an imagine.
I will write scenarios for the Chief, and many important NPCs, not just Sinners. Ask if uncertain.
I will write NSFW content. Please only request this if you’re 18+.
I will not write romantic or sexual content involving minors.
I will not write content that includes p*dophilia, r*pe, in*est, or abuse. “X helping the reader to escape an abusive situation” and similar requests is alright, though I reserve the right to decline any.
Please do not use characters from other media as a basis for your request. If you want a Chief/Reader/etc. who acts like, say, Dante from Devil May Cry, you will have to describe the desired personality traits the long way (so for Dante: a flamboyant, larger-than-life personality which they use to cover up how much they deeply care).
I will not write for Victoria. This is for personal reasons.
This blog will not be spoiler-free. I typically play new content as soon as it comes out on global.

so as someone who is only on chapter one of omori and is obsessed with it here are my thoughts as a new member of the fandom
bear in mind that i haven’t finished the game. i only just got to that one creepy forest place? like the one after the spiders? please don’t spoil!!
but spoilers for everything before that below
1) I HATE BASIL. he’s such a stupid little punk. “uwu im so smol and helpless and i always get bullied and i’m so sweet and innocent” I JUST KNOW THAT FUCKER IS HIDING SOMETHING. everytime i end back in that stupid white room it’s because HES DOING SOME SUSSY SHIT. i also just hate him and everything about him and i know for a damn fact that he’s hiding something horrible behind that sweet little smile and he thinks he’s tricking me but he’s NOT I KNOW HIS GAME.
anyway.
2) i literally cannot decide on a favorite character. i have a least favorite, that’s pretty obvious, but when it comes to a favorite im torn. i LOVE omori, aubrey, kel, and hero all the same! i love mari too but i’m a little salty against her because all her hints for the quests are severely unhelpful 😭 but i still love her tho. i just love the main four so so much and i physically cant choose who i like better. poor little aubrey seems so scared and alone when she has the pink hair and she’s so kind in the little space world thing. hero is a sweetheart and i can’t wait to meet him in the colorful world where i’m moving or whatever. and kel is literally so me 😂 it’s not even funny he just does whatever the fuck he wants and that deserves some respect on his name. and omori is a kickass main character who has a cool thing going for him. but these four characters are sooo well crafted and i love how they work together! it’s a great dynamic balance!
3) i’m either a really bad gamer or the game is super long. i finished the prologue in like seven hours. it took SO LONG. i’m not used to indie games taking that long to play considering that i got through all of undertale in like 10-12 hours my first time. it’s awesome! i love finding all the secrets and talking to all the npcs but DAMNNN.
4) this game has so. much. detail. it’s insane. like the sheer amount of mini games and tiny pockets of lore. it’s like higher than undertale level and i don’t mean to keep going back to undertale but i see a lot of similarities in the game style. i also totally got sucked into playing like 30 rounds of blackjack on omoris computer. it was cool af.
5) the fighting mechanics are super hard. maybe i just suck at strategy but i am so bad at the fights that i just run away whenever i have the opportunity 😭 it’s a problem. i also have no clue how the happy sad angry shit works, i just make omori sad so stab has an attack boost and make aubrey angry so headbutt has an attack boost but other than that i don’t really use it at all and i don’t understand it. maybe that’s why it took me literally 10 tries to get past space ex boyfriend? it’s really fun i just think it’s supposed to be easier than it is and i just missed a memo on strategy.
6) i really love the message so far. the way that mental health is portrayed as something that’s a never ending journey. omori doesn’t just breathe and then everything’s okay, the game highlights realistic coping strategies and makes things like depression, anxiety, and phobias to understandable for any audience through a very creative medium: an indie video game. it’s genius. and i just love how it’s been approached so far, it’s very inspiring!
7) i’m terrified that this fandom is gonna make me mad, i swear to god if i just walk in and see a bunch of basil stan’s i’m turning and walking back out 💀 i mean okay maybe i’ll like basil better later but chances for that seem very low right now. my sister told me that apparently he went through some trauma thing? womp womp don’t care he’s an annoying mf who keeps taking me back to that boring white room where i stab myself, he’s a party pooper and i want a tornado to blow his dumb little flower house down.

Some of my Hendrik headcanons:
1. Very opinionated on what constitutes the perfect remoulade
2. Once won a cured meat eating contest by accident during his snack break. Wasn’t even competing, he was just close enough to the main stage for everyone to make the assumption, and bet on him
3. When lost in the woods during his “mushroom foraging saved my life” scare, absolutely consumed at least one psychedelic shroom and was visited by the apparition of Horse Hendrik - not sure if it would be funnier for that to be a majestic Hendrik looking centaur, or merely a regular horse with Hendrik’s face
4. Before their miscommunication-driven spat, Jasper and Hendrik likely got into all sorts of mischief in the castle while growing up: Hendrik the long suffering friend who always says yes, and Jasper being the conniving ringleader of the pair. Hendrik ofc was always the only one to get into trouble because Jasper would scarper at the last minute
5. Hendrik recoils at the sight of seafood. Fish is fine. Prawns, lobsters and the like are absolutely not, however. Far too visually similar to insects for him to go there. Which made negotiating the seafood paellas in Puerto Valor while he was training there an entertaining sight for everyone else involved
5a. On this note, Sylvando has absolutely thrown at least one prawn at Hendrik, who shrieked at just the right pitch to shatter a nearby church window
6. Hendrik has absolutely traversed the castle halls at night during the summer months in naught but his boxers on a midnight haunch of venison run. Has absolutely bumped into Carnelian and Jade who were doing the same, except for desserts and sweets. And they had the decency to be fully clothed. Cue hilarity
7. Hendrik and Jade balance each others phobias perfectly. Hendrik can reach the top shelves so Jade doesn’t need to get on a ladder. Jade can catch and get rid of the bugs in Hendrik’s quarters.
7a. She has absolutely put some in there on occasion just to test a theory. The theory is “does Hendrik’s caterwauling extend to the outer reaches of the castle’s perimeter on discovery of a live cockroach in his desk drawer?” The answer is: yes
8. Hendrik inevitably infodumps about his horse whenever the opportunity presents itself. “Were you aware that Obsidian is nineteen and a half hands high? Truly he is a majestic creature beyond compare.”
9. Hendrik also very likely named his horse according to the Heliodor naming conventions whereby nearly everyone is a precious or semi precious stone (Jade, Carnelian, Jasper, Ruby, etc…)
9a. This is especially poignant given that after losing his homeland, Heliodor became his new home 🥺
10. Laments of Princess Jade’s “tomboyishness” (e.g. in the JP character book), but absolutely secretly enjoys a woman that can kick his ass (also Jade)
11. Sketches realistic horses to relax - when he’s not “reading” to achieve an altogether different kind of relaxation… (again, the character book pretty much alludes to him ‘cracking one out’:
“Stress relief: Reading”.
💀
12. Absolutely crushes on the princess Jade, but is content to be a volcel bc he cannot have her - and would never presume he would ever be allowed to in the first place
13. Again, going by the JP character book, Hendrik is no follower of fashion, and so Jasper has not only designed their matching armour, he has also in the past tricked Hendrik into wearing “very fashionable formal wear” when they were to attend banquets and parties together - only he always made sure Hendrik was wearing last year’s fashion
14. Hendrik is the sort of gentle giant that cats flock to him - something made all the more hilarious given his terrible cat allergies.
14a. Man-hating cats always seem to love him. NPCs are always remarking “oh, but my cat usually HATES men!! :0” as one jumps into his lap, trapping him there out of politeness as he fights not to sneeze, and his eyelids begin to swell

Made a little list of accessibility feature thoughts mostly for myself but feel free to share it / comment to add your own. Might be helpful for gamedev or for modders wanting to make something more accessible. Below a break so it's always updated - I'll update it when other things get suggested or I think if something, it's definitely not an exhaustive list as-is.
The list:
gameplay visuals:
Flashing / strobing effects toggle
Blur / distortion effects toggle
Motion blur toggle
Camera bob / reduce camera wobble toggle
Motion sickness reduction options in general if the above don't cover it
Particle effects toggles
UI / text:
Light / dark texture toggles (ex. replacing a bright white snow texture with a darker, bluer texture)
Field of view sliders
UI scaling + color options
Caption scaling + color options
Voiced UI options
Text labels on icons
Clear and readable design choices - no accessibility feature is useful if it can't be found in the settings
Reduced effects / movement / animations in menus
general visuals:
Separate brightness scaling for backgrounds and objects / characters (ex, darkening backgrounds and lightening characters for clearer visibility)
Color correction options
controls:
Custom button mapping
Motion control options
Different controller type capabilities
One-handed control schemes
Reversed / left-hand-dominant control schemes
audio:
Sound cues for collisions with walls / objects
Step sounds changing to indicate being on / off a path
Directional sound cues for objectives (ex. Nirnroot)
Directional captions
Sound effect / non-dialogue captions
general gameplay
Volume sliders for each sound category (music, SFX, dialogue, etc)
Disabling sudden / shrill / static noises options
Pause at any time
Save at any time
Warnings / information/ options on startup about accessibility toggles so they can be implemented before gameplay starts
Disable / extend timers on quick time events
Auto lock / aim assist sliders
difficulty adjustments
Invincibility / god mode options
Damage scaling options (both damage dealt and damage received)
"Guide" mode options (having an NPC buddy)
misc
Low / no combat modes (when possible)
Low / no pressure modes (for non combat games)
-phobia toggles: obviously would vary based on the game and what it's meant to include, but along the lines of Dark Soups's blood toggle or the arachnophobia sliders in Grounded

Oxventure: Deadlands and Related Thoughts
I just finished binging Oxventure Deadlands and honestly I can't praise it enough.
I've long thought that these six performers had the potential for extremely effective dramatic storytelling in the RPG scene, and this finally vindicates my feelings. Andy was quite a strict GM but his willingness to give the players consequences and making the NPCs reasonably intelligent made the stories come to life.
In addition, Andy plays an excellent set of villains, characters that felt three dimensional and also slimy, viscerally hate-able, or in the case of the final villain, sympathetic. The players were no slouches either, particularly Edie, Nate and Delacey (Silas was arguably a bit flat, in the post-campaign Q&A, Mike correctly jokes that Silas's depth as a character begins and ends with his horse phobia quirk). Ellen plays Edie with amazing depth and I love her vignette in the climactic boss fight, and Johnny is singularly the best of the whole group at completely disappearing into a player character.
I did have a little smirk during the post-campaign Q&A where Andy says he thinks that he over-planned, and then described having planned for extremely reasonable things like a place that the players had the power to have travelled to, and the motivations of NPCs he knew were important to a particular storyline. This is the level of D&D that basically every TTRPG podcast does, but Andy's so used to Johnny's philosophy of the world not being fleshed out that he thinks what he did was unusual. I hope that in the future Andy doesn't learn the wrong lessons and doesn't overcorrect on this aspect.
Soon, Oxventure will debut the final season of Oxventure D&D and then begin a new campaign further down the line. I loved the level one adventures near the start, I think the fun and fancy free vibe of the five six or so episodes were fitting for the point in the campaign it took place, but after that point the stories got repetitive because Johnny wasn't willing to allow the players to experience consequences when it would've been appropriate to raise the stakes, and either didn't know how to balance high level campaigns or was unwilling to risk the tone getting too dramatic or the story too unmanageable to DM.
I desperately hope that the success of the dramatic storytelling achieved in Deadlands by (as far as I know) sticking to the system's limitations and allowing it to define the stakes and establish tension carries forward main D&D. Deadlands was plenty humorous even with Andy tempering the more outlandish schemes, and in fact giving the players consequences for thinking they can do wacky schemes that they didn't properly think about itself created comedy.

hello! this is regretevator-headcanons, a blog specifically for... well, regretevator headcanons. however, i also accept regretevator imagines, confessions, and facts!
the main admin can be called PartyGuest or PG. he is an adult, it/he pronouns only and masculine terms only. yes, i am autistic.
ground rules
it is my discretion whether or not i post anything submitted, but i will not post anything that is deemed offensive, controversial, or NSFW.
please respect the pronouns and identity of the characters. mistakes happen sometimes, so it's fine to slip up, but i won't tolerate any obvious -phobia or -isms. you can check the regretevator wiki for certain character's pronouns
since the blog is new and it's my first time doing any sort of blog like this, more rules may be added if i see fit
posting & tags
this blog runs on a queue; i try to prioritize submissions/asks in the queue over other posts, so just wait a few days if you've submitted something and if it doesn't show up (though sometimes if i like it especially i will just post it right away—i'm silly like that)
for ease of access, all of my tags are just an NPC's name (whatever they have when you hover over/spectate them—so this means unpleasant gradient is called "unpleasant" and not "unpleasant gradient", and poob is called "partynoob"), and then categorized into "headcanon", "imagine", "confession", or "fact".
for anything involving the entire regretevator cast of characters, it is tagged as "regretevator cast". for anything involving the regretevator elevator, it is tagged as "regretevator elevator".
a special tag i have is "music headcanon" which is specifically for headcanons relating to music, like what songs certain npcs would listen to, etc. i also have "tier list" and "headcanon art"; the "tier list" being for tier lists made and "headcanon art" for art made of the headcanons posted to this blog

A lil something for everyone! :D Haven- A13, K6 Nona Paloma- A2, L2 Roka- F2, C8 Kittiwake Tern- F11, B9 Edmond Du Bogue- A24, D4
Ahh thank you for asking about my characters!!! Yippee!
I'm putting a readmore here cus there's a lot of them! Anyone who reads all of these you're my new bff now I am weeping and crying
Haven
a13. Does your OC have any phobias? If so, where did they come from?
Haven is terrified of getting wet and water! He's an undead guy who was mummified when we has first killed, and he's very afraid that he'll start to rot if he gets wet. He doesn't know how to swim and avoids boats and any sort of water at all costs.
k6. Does their paranormal aspect cause issues in daily life? If so, how do they feel about it?
Even within the fantasy world where he lives, Haven is "paranormal" in that he's undead, and looks like a desiccated corpse. This causes him issues in his daily life because the undead are generally feared and hated, so he's always hiding that, mostly by wearing clothes that hide the huge hole in his chest and a mask that hides his lack of eyes. He's got complicated feelings about his situation, but generally dislikes it. He's very aware that he's ugly and monstrous, and still trying to decide whether he is a monster or not, and generally struggles to accept his situation.
Nimona-Paloma Charrata aka Nona
a2. What alignment are they? Chaotic neutral, lawful evil, et cetera…
Nona is chaotic neutral! She generally acts this way due to being deeply and consistently out of touch with what is normal and acceptable, and what's going on in general. She is offputting and nosy and generally just does whatever she wants, in a way that's very childish and clueless.
l2. What do you consider the biggest themes in your character, if any?
Nona's whole concept is based around the idea of an NPC suddenly granted PC-style capabilities and agency. She spent her whole existence standing outside her house asking passersby to help her with tasks before suddenly acquiring magical powers and getting thrown into the life of an adventurer. Nona's main themes are being a fish out of water and needing to learn how exist as a person! It's tough to know how to be someone when you've never had to make any choices for yourself or interacted with anyone in a meaningful way.
Roka
f2. What’s their ideal home look like? Where is it?
Roka's ideal home is the one she currently lives in with her wife and daughter! After losing everyone she knew when her community was destroyed and a series of pretty traumatic events in the fallout of that, all she wants is her new start, and in this case, that looks like a little house with a few apple trees located in a small village.
c8. Is your OC more practical or ideal morally?
Roka is a deeply practical person. As a young woman, she was raised to be a priestess in a death cult and did things out of a deep sense of moral righteousness. When she realized her goddess wasn't real and her religion was a manipulation tactic to convince people to sacrifice each other, she fully threw all that out of the window. She became someone who twists her morals to achieve her goals, and is convinced that her goals justify her actions, even if those include being cruel or manipulative or violent.
Prof. Kittiwake Tern
f11. What are some of their favorite things to do for recreation?
Kittiwake Tern is a stuffy and proper man who's sense of fun has been generally shredded by years of being in academia (and being the pawn of a malevolent arctic being). In his free time, he likes to read books that would be impressive to people if anyone asked him what he was reading, and drink tea (if he's having a good day) or brandy (if he's having a bad one).
b9. What kind of humor does your OC like the most?
Kittiwake Tern does not approve of humor in general, though he does enjoy a well thought out play on words, or any sort of comedy that's appropriately literary.
Edmond Du Bogue
a24. What are some of your OC’s biggest personal obstacles?
Edmond wants to be a folk hero knight, but he's a sheltered 20 year old rich boy who's leaving the house for the first time. His biggest obstacles are that he has zero experience with "real life" (or anything else) and that it isn't much like all those novels he read growing up. He's working to get that experience, though sometime, he isn't sure he really wants it...
d4. Would they like to be immortal? Why, why not?
Edmond wouldn't particularly like being immortal. He's very concerned with his life and practical problems, and the idea of being immortal would absolutely stress him out to an impossible degree. Edmond is a very small fish who is just now realizing that he's in an ocean, not a pond, and the last thing he needs right now is for the scope of things to get bigger and more complicated.
#ask game#if anyone else wants to sen me these they make me so happy!!!!#haven#nona paloma#roka#kittiwake tern#edmond du bogue
