Komaeda is an assault to the senses. Even when silent, there's still something churning inside him. Plans. Wicked words. Manic energy, like he's bursting at the seams. Gundham can see it behind his eyes. Komaeda is a predator playing at being prey, and he will not let the others be fooled by it.

The way to figure out someone's character is to see how they treat the many denizens of the animal kingdom. While he may not trust Komaeda, he trusts his Devas to handle themselves. Gundham offers the calmest of his Devas, Cham-P, and instructs Nagito to hold out his hand, palm up, for Cham-P to trundle forth onto.

"My Devas can read a man's soul without much effort." His remaining three climb out from their hiding places in the crevices of his scarf, as if to demonstrate. San-D's sweet self nuzzles against his cheek, but her eyes watch Cham-P's trajectory. "I find I don't have to share my secrets for them to have already found a solution for them."

                     to be granted the pleasure of spending time with the ultimate breeder has komaeda feeling nothing but elated. lucky — how lucky he is that he gets to be here. he can't help the small smile on his face; even if he was trying to hold himself back. he wouldn't want to do something strange that would make one of the objects of his worship hate him (despite it seeming like they already do). even if he was almost never able to tell just was so strange about his actions, he was trying to make an effort.

                     his palm held out with slight hesitation; unsure if he should be trusted with one of the breeder's pets. he doesn't want to disappoint gundham, though. and he trusts his judgement. to doubt such a thing would be sacrilegious in komaeda's eyes.

                     ❝  what an amazing bond you have... as expected of someone with your skills!  ❞ his fingers curl inward slightly as champ-p sits there — creating a small, but likely unhelpful barrier — nervous that the hamster may fall. or worse; that he'll drop the small animal.  ❝  you're really in tune with them, aren't you?  ❞ his smile spreads a bit wider at the thought.

                     read a man's soul... they must be good at sensing the feelings of others. maybe gundham is saying that they know to comfort him when he may be feeling down? once more, komaeda can't help but feel impressed by that connection between person and animal. the kind that only someone with a talent like gundham's can have.

                     he wonders if those bonds will stay steady throughout this game... how far is gundham willing to go for these creatures? and for those that are left back home? he must be worried for them... all the more reason for him to get out of here. ah... but he probably shouldn't offer himself up as a sacrifice so soon into the conversation.
