I totally get what you mean about the fandom being exhausting and wanting to leave. But I feel like that’s how SJM is able to continue to make it. So many people were calling everything out long before SJM made it big after the release of her third book, but they gave up which is where her fandom was able to grow unchallenged and unhinged. I know so many people are leaving now, because it is really tiring to constantly trying to be gaslit and getting death threats, but I so very much fear what happens if people stop calling her out.
PS. I’m not saying it’s your job to call stuff out, by the way. I’m just sharing my fears 😆
Thank you! But there are a lot of old Sarah critical blogs that still have their posts up, and I think a lot of us have covered the main things: the racism, the misogyny, the retcons, the hypocrisy, etc... (though I still have a Nesta essay somewhere in the stack). But many of these legitimate complaints and analyses are being ignored by the white women who stan Sarah because ~Feysand~, and it's equal parts frustrating and disheartening because it shows white women really do not care about women of color AT ALL and have merely been offering faux "allyship" because they do not CARE about racism when it impacts something THEY like.
I am still HERE for my ship, though, and I still have many WIPs planned for them, but between all the nonsense in canon and the stress and the daily harassment in my inbox... I don't really see being in the ACOTAR fandom as worth it long-term.
#sometimes i engage with anons if i want to make a point(TM) or if i have the energy to properly respond#but lately i've been mostly deleting and/or blocking them because i've been busy with preparing for the nclex#i got a bunch of nasty ones lately for some reason and i am TIRED#anon#ask#fandom drama

002. apple of my pie | onigiri cravings
cw: cursing/swearing, akaashi is still an ass i'm sorry & of course a splash of angst.
the sunlight flooded through the open windows of the kitchen as he set his keys down in his office, placing the rest of his belongings on the desk. it had been about a month since osamu last visited his tokyo location of onigiri miya. his hair was still slightly damp, and his black t-shirt, bearing the beautiful onigiri miya logo, clung tightly to his torso.
without wasting any time, he ran his hands through his hair, pulled on his cap, and tied his apron around his waist. this was osamu miya's daily routine—simple and efficient but adhered to with precision, especially on busy days like this.
he immediately turned on his music, and "lone (instrumental)" by tyler, the creator began to fill the restaurant. he followed his food safety precautions, washing his hands before starting the day's prep. he washed the rice and put it on the industrial stove, alongside some soba noodles he had set out. the rhythmic chopping and mincing focused his mind, his razor-sharp precision enhancing both the flavor and presentation of his food. he allowed himself to relax, mellowing out in the blissful peace of the moment.
meanwhile, y/n was just gathering her things, prepared to go to work and gossip with iwa, who had news about his romantic endeavors with his best friend, oikawa. as you padded into the study, looking for your shoes that you had haphazardly thrown in after a shift, your eyes fell upon akaashi, curled up comfortably on the futon pushed awkwardly into the corner.
you scoffed, memories of last night playing in your mind.
"i thought i didn't care, y/n. make up your fucking mind," he had said, arms thrown up in exasperation as he bee-lined for the couch.
"you're fucking right, akaashi. you don't care. and since you want to act like such an entitled asshole, you can sleep out here. don't come cuddle up next to me until you figure out what's crawled up your ass and died," you had yelled, your voice rising higher than you intended, tears spilling unintentionally.
"grow up," he muttered, stomping out of the house with nothing but his wallet, keys, and phone.
the house felt bitter and stale. you stood there, tears falling unknowingly. it had been like this for almost a week and a half now—constant arguments, insults flying, and petty silence. it was driving you insane, draining you to argue with someone who obviously wasn't for you anymore.
back in the present, your eyes fell, disappointment and guilt prickling at your heart. you silently picked up your shoes, slipped them on, and exited the house. you sent a text, just letting him know you left so he wouldn't worry, if he even cared anymore.
as you walked to work, the bags under your eyes felt sore, and your body ached from the stress of the past few days. between the incessant arguing with akaashi, studying for your upcoming nclex, and being present for your new friends and coworkers, you were drained.
when you arrived at onigiri miya, your eyes widened slightly upon seeing the lights on and the restaurant seemingly occupied. you wondered if someone had arrived before you, despite being scheduled to open.
after tapping in your employee id, you pushed into the store. the scents of garlic, mirin, and soft notes of sugar wafted over you. curious and slightly cautious, you peered into the kitchen. the scene before you was beautiful.
osamu was mixing a bowl of ingredients, swaying slowly to pink + white by frank ocean. he seemed focused and calm, in his element. your mind raced, wondering who this could be. you didn't remember any new chefs being hired, and no one would be so comfortable working freely in the kitchen. your thoughts were interrupted by a gruff but gentle voice.
"ya gonna gawk some more, or ya gonna come in?" a bright, generous smile followed. "i don't bite, i promise." his smile relaxed as he casually stirred his pot of boiling noodles.
your face grew warm with embarrassment. you shuffled in, dropped your belongings in the break room, and donned your apron before quietly entering the kitchen.
"i'm assuming yer the new hire? yachi never did let me know what yer name was," he sighed fondly, probably thinking about yachi's unwavering flusteredness when approached about minor mistakes in her work. "my poor ma woulda' knocked my head off. where are my manners? 'm osamu miya." his hand extended politely, lightbulbs blaring in your mind as you internally face-palmed before shaking his hand.
"oh… i'm sorry. i'm, uh, y/n l/n," you introduced yourself, meeting his gaze briefly before looking away. "i'm so sorry, i didn't even remember that you would be here." you rubbed your eyes slowly, still tired.
"don't worry 'bout it. i'm not too strict or anything like that. i just like to get an early start. ignore me. feel free to do what ya normally do." he smiled warmly, and you sighed contentedly, a weight lifting from your shoulders. work could still be your safe space away from the unrelenting akaashi mess and the stress of your upcoming exam.
you smiled warmly and nodded before going to the front of the store to continue your usual opening duties, even making your signature green tea drink in an attempt to wake yourself up. osamu cooked quietly in the kitchen, the music and sounds of his work filling the space. the morning went off without a hitch, calm and warmth filling your body as you finished your opening tasks.
you sat on your "gossip bench," conveniently named by the gossip king himself, sugawara koushi. you pulled out your textbook, which you kept there to study whenever you had a free moment. you sat silently, eyes scanning over the masses of notes scribbled in the book.
osamu walked into the front, glancing around before noticing you huddled up in the corner, reading your textbook. when his eyes caught you, focused and determination spewing from your features. his stomach got that sinking feeling, his mind clouding as he stared shamelessly.
"medical terminology?" his voice poured into your ear, syrupy and sweet and your eyes flicked up to meet his.
"yup, this nclex isn't gonna pass itself," you muttered, a wry smile on your face.
"wow, that's a nursin' exam, right?" he asked, leaning against the counter, towering over you in a way that felt comforting rather than intimidating. almost like you were with your usual coworkers, who had grown to become some of your good friends over the past few months.
"yup, this is my last big hurdle before graduation. well, i have to pass this to even graduate," you muttered, your eyes drifting worriedly.
"well, i'm sure yer just as smart as you are beautiful. you'll pass with flyin' colors." he smiled ear to ear, leaving you no time to reply before walking off to begin plating his new recipes.
and that was the first time that you had ever truly noticed the man that osamu miya was.
a/n: i hope you all hated (enjoyed so much) my terrible (ahmazing) pun that is the title of this chapter. we finally meet osamu, thankfufreakinglyyyy. i'm so excited for the coming chapters, thank u guys for being patient. don't worry y/n will not cheat, i'm killing off the akaashiyn agenda quickly.

Our Love Story: Don’t Lift A Finger, Love
Nanami Kento x Reader
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6
(Song Inspiration: Love Someone by Jason Mraz)
Nanami decided to go to your place after his shift. He was glad that he was able to leave early. He has been very grateful to Gojo and Geto since they offer to finish missions for him so he can return to you on time.
You and Nanami go back and forth to each other’s places. It started off slow, keeping a toothbrush in each other’s places after you fell asleep at his apartment after studying one night. He even bought you clothes, facial and specific hair products, toiletries, and even make up to keep at his place. And when Nanami finished his shift, he slowly brought his things over to keep at yours.
He did his normal thing when he came back. Shoes were off, blunt sword against the wall, glasses on the table, sleeves rolled up halfway, top buttons undone, and tie hanging loosely around his neck. He found you in your kitchen, studying intensely for your final.
You were busy this past month. In a few days, you will take your final and your ceremony was a couple of weeks later. You’ve been going to reviews for your NCLEX and tutoring for your sessions. Along with that, you still worked your full time hours at the hospital. He made sure he came back home to you. He made sure you ate, either bringing home food or cooking something he planned for you throughout the day. He did more than you needed him to do. But you knew that he would be stubborn to listen to you when you were swamped to take care of yourself. You always tell them you were alright before he starts doing what he was going to do anyway. You were slowly getting used to him doing anything and everything for you.
“Sweetheart?” You didn’t react. And when he walked closer to you, he could hear the music blasting from your head phones. He pulled it them off your head, making you jump. When you turned around, you smiled widely.
“Kento-kun! Did you just get back?” you asked. Nanami nodded. “How was work?”
“Good,” he answered and took a seat next to you. “Gojo-san and Geto-san took over my last mission.”
“They’re too good to you,” you said and kissed his lips.
“Are you working tonight?” he asked. You shook your head.
“I took vacation for two weeks.” Nanami smiled and you can see that he was relieved. He leaned in and kissed your forehead tenderly.
“Good,” he said. “You have been nonstop. As much as I want you to take a break, I love that your hard work is paying off. I’m so proud of you, sweetheart.” You just want to cry happily from his words.
“You really mean it?” you asked. Nanami nodded. “Okay, let me be for a bit. I’m almost done with these practice questions.”
“Okay, my love. I’ll make us dinner.”
He kissed your lips, yet your body felt frozen. You couldn’t help but let his new pet name for you repeat in your head. It was usually sweetheart, darling, or sometimes dear. Never had he said love. As you placed your headphones back on, you couldn’t help but wonder if there was more meaning to the name. It almost made it hard for you to concentrate.
You couldn’t stop smiling as you were studying. Nanami couldn’t help but do the same thing whenever he looked up at you. He feels at peace when you smile. Your smile is his favorite sight.
“Break time!”
“Food is almost done. I made katsudon,” he said. Your mouth watered. You’ve been craving it for a while now. You put your school supplies away in your living room. You entered the kitchen and started to quickly wash the dishes, but when Nanami saw what you were doing, he immediately wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you away. You laughed. “Do not lift a finger, my love. I want you to relax.”
You blushed as he brought you to the chair. You sat down and watched him prepare the dish. You watched his back as he was by the stove finishing dinner. You watched him turn on the electric kettle and setting up two tea cups and two teabags. You watched him set up two bowls and he walked over to you with a smile. The smell of dinner made your stomach rumble.
“Thank you, Kento-kun! You are seriously the best.”
“Anything for my girl,” he said and turned back around to grab the two tea cups. You patiently waited for him. Once he sat down, the two of you grabbed your chopsticks and ate. “Is it good, love?” You nodded.
“It’s amazing,” you said. “You make the best meals.”
“Is it missing anything?” he asked curiously. He takes your criticisms seriously. He wanted to make the meals perfect just for you.
“Not this one,” you said. “Maybe more onions but I also loooove onions with this dish.” Nanami took a mental note of it for next time. You looked at him. “But you don’t have to.”
“I want you to have the best,” he said. Your heart wanted to leap out of your chest.
“I love you,” you said.
You and Nanami froze. You quickly turned back around and took a sip of your tea. Nanami watched you, letting those three words sink in. He couldn’t help but smile. He placed his hand on your thigh which got you to turn around and look at him. Nanami stood up and cupped your face.
“I love you too, sweetheart.” You smiled widely. You grabbed his tie and pulled him in to kiss him. The kiss was long, tongues battling each other, with Nanami gently nibbling and sucking on your bottom lip. Once he heard your soft moan, he pulled away. He gazed at your dazed and soft eyes before kissing your forehead. “I love you so much.”
After dinner was finished, Nanami quickly took the bowls to the sink before you could clean up. He held your hand and lead you to the couch, telling you to relax.
“I’m not disabled,” you said, slightly teasingly. Nanami kissed your forehead.
“I know. I just don’t want you to lift a finger tonight,” he said, face stoic yet voice so soft it makes your heart leap with joy.
“Then in that case, I will shower and get ready for the night.” Nanami let out a small smile and kissed your lips. “You’re very kissy tonight.”
“You’re just very kissable,” he said. “Go shower. I’ll go right after you, love.” You nodded, skipping your way to the bathroom.
He found you in bed, laptop on your lap and your iPad filled with notes in your hand. He awed at the sight while leaning against the doorway after his shower. His towel remained around his waist. You looked up and turned to look at him. Your eyes widened and you blushed as you turned your attention back to your computer.
“Studying hard again?” he asked. You gave him a high-pitched hum in response. Nanami picked out his clothes and walked back to the bathroom to change. Your hand was on your racing heart. You let dirty thoughts consume your mind.
“Love, do you want tea?” he asked.
“I’m good for now,” you answered flustered. Nanami nodded and joined you in bed. He took his book from the nightstand and started reading. “So…what is it that you love about me?” Nanami placed a book mark in his book and closed it, putting it back on the night table.
“You being you,” he answered nonchalantly. He watched you react irritably with his reaction. He quietly chuckled to himself before pulling you closer to him, your laptop slipping off your lap and falling to the side of the bed.
“Now is not the time to be cliche with that short answer,” you said with pouty lips. Nanami kissed the top of your head.
"You're smart and beautiful. You prefer to be independent and I love that you let me in your life and allow me to help you. Unlike me, you like to go with the flow of things. You don't exactly plan things out and usually I hate that, but I love it with you. I never planned to keep you close in my life. I was just going to keep it at that after you bought me coffee and bread.”
“I honestly thought the same thing. Then you called me. Checked up on me. Why’d you do that?” Nanami shrugged.
“I felt like I had to. I knew I didn’t have to. With me being a sorcerer, I couldn’t let you in my life. But since I kept letting you in, I at least had to give you an option, right?” You nodded. “You make me happy. When I see you, I feel the tiredness go away the moment I see you smile. When I see you work hard, it makes me want to become a better sorcerer, that way I can protect you. I love everything about you.” You smiled. You held his hand tightly and rested your head on his shoulder.
“You don’t find me like I’m some kind of child right?”
“Not at all. Why? You think a five year age gap is too much?”
“I-I was just curious.” Nanami chuckled and kissed the top of your head.
“Your turn.”
“You’re a serious and stoic man with the biggest heart in the world,” you said. “When I talk to Gojo-san and Geto-san, they love talking about you to me. You’re so caring to the young sorcerers. You make me proud that you are one. You get to be their mentor and they get to fight in battle like you. And I know I never seen you fight, but I don’t have to see to know that you’re one of the best.” Nanami felt a burst of happiness when you said that. “And I love that you’re true to word and actions. You’re honest and loyal. Everything about you is just amazing.” You couldn’t keep his eyes off of him. Something about them sparkled. Nanami rested his forehead on yours, gently caressing your one cheek.
“Thank you,” he said and kissed you softly.

i’m a pre-nursing student! any advice? :)
sorry for the late reply! i don't know what a pre-nursing program entails exactly but here's some general advice for nursing school:
1. keep a detailed calendar. there's going to be 1001 different things due so it's very easy to lose track of things. time management will save your mental health.
2. make some nursing friends in the first semester. it's good to have a little group to study with/vent.
3. you're probably going to fail a couple of exams. it's not the end of the world and that doesn't mean nursing is not for you.
4. if possible, maybe shadow a nurse? working as a nurse and being in nursing school is two completely different things so having some experience in the field beforehand is great.
5. whenever you can during nursing school, become a CNA (certified nursing assistant) if possible. the experience makes all the difference when you finish nursing school and it's easier to integrate the workplace.
6. use all any extra lab time you can get to practice skills because you might not be able to once you start clinical rotations at the hospital.
7. BUY SECONDHAND BOOKS! (your bank account will be grateful).
8. be prepared for tricky exam questions and lots of critical thinking exercices. it's okay to suck at them, i had the worst time with the multiple-choice quizzes. practice exams online are a great way to study. registerednurseRN on youtube is also a good resource to use.
9. nursing school is basically there to prep you to think like a nurse but not so much work as one. having a hard time at school ≠ being a bad nurse. all of it is really just prep work for the NCLEX. i found that working as a nurse is actually easier than being a student so there is light at the end of tunnel lol.
10. take some breaks often. nursing is a really demanding program to be in and you should take care of yourself as much as you can throughout (or else how could you fully take care of others 😊)

hey, do you remember how you passed maternity and med surge? i’m struggling
i will never forget maternity 😭 that class was insanity. i used a few resources, so let me break them down!
- i would skim the powerpoints for my upcoming lectures the sunday before class. i would see what diseases we were going to be discussing, and make a concept map using the textbook. just trying to get my brain familiar with the info at this point, not actually learning.
- then, i would watch a video on the topic to solidify it a bit more. this helped connect the dots more in my head so that i wasnt having to learn new vocabulary at the same time as new concepts.
- in class, i added notes to my concept maps. anything that was repeated, i underlined. anything that was not clicking, i would raise my hand and ask for clarification on. this is your education. your degree! do not be afraid to make the most of it
- after lecture, i would make a list of the topics we covered. for the remainder of that week i would review 3-4 diseases a day, since sometimes we covered 12-16 per week.
med surg is similar, but more straightforward in my opinion. i used nclex style practice questions in preparation for exams, as well as the saunders (8th?) version. its good for simplifying larger topics and helping you to compare and contrast them. i hope this helped!

Haven't been on tumblr in a while because I've been busy IRL preparing to move to MA from FL to move in with my boyfriend and his family. Excited to get out this hell state, but there is so much to do and I am stressed as fuck,
-Trying to transfer my RN license and MA isn't a nursing compact state so it's a whole process. Why aren't nursing licenses federal??? Why do I need to harass my college to send my transcript over when I passed the NCLEX???
-I got my drivers license finally! At age 28! Driving is terrifying but a lot less terrifying than the first time I got behind the wheel. I haven't been on the highway yet but I've been on the main roads of my town. People love to speed and not use their blinkers.
-Bf's parents have one of those little white dogs who is 11 lb of pure rage and I have a 30 something pound herding mix/mutt (who LOVES small dogs) and I'm worried about her being bullied by him.
