Menurut Adyatama Kepariwisataan dan Ekonomi Kreatif Ahli Utama Kemenparekraf, Nia Niscaya, BIOSFERUN merupakan cara inovatif untuk mengenalkan potensi wisata di sekitar Candi Borobudur. "Ini adalah salah satu cara kami untuk menunjukkan bahwa di sekitar Borobudur tak hanya ada situs sejarah. Tapi juga cagar biosfer yang dipromosikan melalui event seperti ini," ungkap Nia. Sementara itu, Direktur Utama BPOB, Agustin Peranginangin, menjelaskan bahwa BIOSFERUN merupakan pengembangan dari acara sebelumnya, Forest Run. Dimana,  telah diselenggarakan pada 2022 dan 2023. "Jika pada dua event sebelumnya para peserta hanya berlari di dalam zona otoritatif BPOB, tahun ini cakupannya diperluas," kata Agustin. Sedangkan, kawasan Borobudur, menurut Agustin, menyimpan banyak warisan dunia. Termasuk dua cagar biosfer yang diakui UNESCO: Merapi Merbabu Menoreh dan Karimunjawa Jepara Muria. Agustin menambahkan, selain memperkenalkan kawasan Biosfer Merapi Merbabu Menoreh sebagai destinasi pariwisata, BIOSFERUN juga diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif.Terutama, bagi desa-desa wisata di sekitarnya. "Beberapa desa wisata yang telah masuk dalam Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia (ADWI) turut terbantu. Terutama homestay yang akan penuh karena kebutuhan akomodasi peserta," ujarnya. Roostian Gamananda, Ketua Asosiasi Lari Trail Indonesia (ALTI) Yogyakarta sekaligus mitra MyRace, menyebut BIOSFERUN kali ini lebih variatif. Khususnya,  dalam hal rute dibandingkan Forest Run. Dibagian lain, Direktur Nusantara TV, Randy Monthonaro Tampubolon, menilai BIOSFERUN adalah contoh sukses sinergi antara pariwisata dan olahraga. "Acara ini membawa masyarakat lebih dekat dengan alam, sekaligus menumbuhkan kesadaran akan lingkungan dan budaya lokal," ujarnya. "Potensinya luar biasa, baik untuk lingkungan maupun ekonomi masyarakat setempat," sambung Tampubolon. Hamilton 10k - 58.44

Stuck waiting for my doctor who is running v late (just left and enrolled at a new clinic and I still have a 20 min wait at least), so thought it's a good time to share about my run that I did in the weekend.

As we were walking to the start line I realised I had left my watch in the car but it was too late by then. I was pretty gutted because how do u know what pace you are running, and if you will be under 1 hour if u cant keep track?? I asked a few people along the way but no one was really helpful, strangely.

I was quite surprised at how okay I felt. I havent run 10k in a while and having no watch was hard too. At about 7k I started passing everyone.. that's when I get my boost and I guess the others start slowing down. So I felt great passing everything and my legs felt strong.

1k left and I just ran. I hadnt seen Joel at all so thought he was ages ahead of me. Cross the finish line, get my medal, and Mike and Joel werent even there. I was gutted they didnt see my good sprint but then Joel said it was because he was at the toilet and he was only 2 minutes ahead of me!! Damit, if I had known that I would have pushed so much more. So that's probably the closest I'll ever be to catching him.

Overall though it was a good run. It was through new and developing subdivisions, the sun was out, it tried to rain a little bit, and there were a few up hills that I wasnt expecting. Quite happy with my placings too. Cool to be in the top 25% of female runners.. even though there weren't many ;)

I have another running plan for December too, but have to talk to Nicola this weekend before sharing it with you guys!

my second year in a row running this 5k!! last year i was barely running 3 miles at a time at all so i was so stoked with 28:50. this year though im in such better shape running wise i thought i would be able to beat last years time by a lot! alas, only 3 seconds 🤣 my focus for the last year has been on building mileage in a way my injury prone body can handle, so im not that surprised i guess that im not that much more speedy! still, happy with the improvement regardless! maybe someday i can whittle my times down to closer to my high school pr’s (yeah right lol) 🏃🏼‍♀️
