Rly enjoying my Chinese literature class
#logxx#My school doesn't have a ton of literature courses and even fewer for nations so recently subject to colonialism as China#So it's very interesting to read responses to modern colonialism as it was happening#Obviously I'm pretty familiar w Latin American literature which has many of the same thees#But I think a pretty defining characteristic of Latin American literature is a lack of national identity/#An overt sense of inferiority to colonial powers in most cases#e.g. I love Borges as a writer but even for a white Argentine he was extremely europhilic#And consequently not especially sympathetic to anticolonialism
