You ever just kinda try and integrate yourself into a space, esp a roleplay centric discord, try and make friends and be nice, and "be yourself". The place preaches good vibes

But every slight thing you say feels like it's put under a microscope??

Your entire character is scrutinized because they had some poor experiences in the past, despite them not even knowing how you write your character or roleplay, let alone having ANY connection with the offenders in question?

Your entire personality feels like it's gonna be put on a chopping block because you don't agree with everything they say

You feel every little thing you say or do is going to be met with judgement, ridicule or disgusting comments in the background because you're not "part of the inner circle"?

This is why I don't really interact with the roleplay community. Because it feels like in many spaces I do go? I'll get treated like I don't belong despite me trying to interact with folks.

If I don't get judged for the character I play, I feel judged because I don't typically agree with a lot of the things a majority of my "community" says. Because a lot of the shit I hear on the daily comes from judgmental people who have absolutely NO reason to throw stones while living in glass houses.

Maybe I'm overreacting, or maybe my anxiety, or god help me, my other mental issues, is making me feel this way. I could be overreacting for all I know because of my past issues.

All I know is in one or two spaces I occupy I try and be social in, I just feel nothing but the worst parts of the community trying to ice me out of it.

The way I would love to potentially write with a Maddie with Sonia's movie universe.... I can already imagine how well they'd get along, especially when she'd be the only daughter in the family. Like they could go on so many spa and mall trips together.

Kay so my geets has daddy issues. He hates him, like a lot. And aside from the whole 'he actually was a strict asshole parent' and 'was barely around Vegeta cause he's got a kingdom to rule' thing going on straining their relationship, I had a thought that would add further to their divide.

Not sure if i'll hc it cause i'm in a yappy mood rn, and I might wake upo tomorrow and hate the idea buuuut, I was thinking about the time when Freeza wanted to keep Vegeta and basically forced his dad to give him up. So like, aside from the whole 'hey i'm stealing your son and the only heir left of your kingdom' I figured Freeza would make sure the bridged burned between the two, and maybe just add a touch of, 'i'm going to blackmail you and make you look like you sold your kid to me.' And there's paper trail of that 'transaction' cause Freeza makes sure that information is not restricted and can be easily found.

And thats what Vegeta grew up hearing/seeing so now he hates his dad even more.

honestly, it's really interesting thinking about how the events of the desert dream in 1998 would get blown out of proportion in the coming years ; hell, it already kinda is twenty-four hours later. not only does the fbi get involved ( and they get involved quick ) but the entire thing is immediately labeled as 'the desert dream massacre' which is ... simply not true. if tyler doesn't kill joyce and michelle isn't shot then the total body count is four cops, with two on life support from the motel burning down. this is literally confirmed in game!

events get labeled as massacres if there's a huge body count, or if it's violent enough. the desert dream killings were neither. all the victims were shot, usually at a distance, or they suffered from burns ; which, while violent, it was more of an escape attempt on the holts' part than anything else. i also find it telling that, even if the holts kill a hostage or two, agent bradley doesn't bother mentioning that in private. all he cares about is the cops lost to the standoff. it's no surprise that killing an officer will get you a more severe punishment then if you kill a regular person, that it can sometimes send you straight to death row on its own, but the fact they don't even care about the deaths of any of the hostages ... it sure is something.

especially since the only hostage deaths in the desert dream can turn the only two kids in the game into orphans. or on the flip side, if the holts didn't harm a hostage, there's no mention of that either. or how the hostages were treated, which compared to usual hostage situations, they got it better than most. it's just the fact that they killed cops ( who were under the thumb of a corrupt sheriff, by the way ) that made this into a massacre. though i wouldn't be surprised if to the public the force would then heavily focus on any other victims, that's usually what happens normally, after all.

anyway, point is, classism does play a role in how cases and crimes are treated -- especially back then. the holts were poor, notoriously so, and they were a family full of drop-outs with nothing to their names. the very second they escape the motel, their names are plastered all over the country and their fates ( including jay's, who's merely an eighteen year old who was an accomplice at best ) are decided : they're going straight to death row. even if jay tries to do the right thing and come clean to agent bradley, tries to turn on his family, said guy immediately goes to pin all the murders on him, for seemingly no reason at all! it's very unjust, and ah ... shady!

the news and papers hype up their crime spree and i wouldn't be shocked that within a couple years, the holts would be presented as bloodthirsty rednecks who were simply greedy rather than a family that didn't have any help and got in way over their heads. the narrative would be twisted so much, especially if three of the holts were never found. there'd be no word from their side, no mention of the thugs who were threatening to kill them, just a true crime story where they were at the forefront of a very unfortunate situation and got away with it. leaving gossips to fill in the blanks as they please, and considering the police's and the fbi's behavior towards this case, they would only fuel the narrative that the holts were a family who did all this on purpose and relished in the aftermath, a family who loved doing the crime.

anyway, it's just something i love thinking about for post canon stuff when it comes to my adf muses. how wildly inaccurate the story's become in time, simply because people got bored or because of the classism back then that was so woven into the broadcasted crime that it's become impossible to separate the two. they'd paint the holts out to be wildly dangerous, cruel individuals and probably spin tales about unsolved murders and robberies and how it could be the work of a holt who had got away. their entire motivation would be obscured and would've gone unsaid, leaving random civilians and a force who hates them to speak for them instead. it'd be a whole thing! and the desert dream was dramatic, sure, but by the time everything is said and done you'd probably barely recognize what the media was talking about had you actually been there.

Thinking about it, it's interesting that Tear reacts the way she does to Largo calling Jade the Necromancer onboard the Tartarus. It's either a sign of just how far reaching Jade's reputation is, or a sign of how well versed in Outer Lands knowledge Tear made herself before leaving Yulia City. I like to think the former, given how Jade just accepts his infamous nickname and carries on. It wouldn't shock me at all if rumors of his exploits trickled down to Yulia City from somewhere within Daath.

Maybe Tear just didn't make the connection of Jade being the infamous 'Jade the Necromancer' due to how she and Luke initially met him. If she only heard of him through talk, I could see her easily just not even thinking anything of Jade coincidentally sharing a first name with the infamous Necromancer. After all, he seemed so normal on first meeting him. Teasing, sure, and later found out to be trying to stop a war with the Fon Master himself and Ion's trusted Fon Master guardian, but still normal enough. And then the reveal happens.

I dunno. It's just interesting.

A LU x reader concept, but like tragic childhood sweethearts kind of deal. But the Link in question doesn't realize that the reader has been in love with him for so long.

It's a love that starts off as a childhood friendship and fascination with one another. And as the reader gets older alongside their version of Link, they slowly begin to realize that what they're feeling is more than just friendship. That it's involved into something so much more than that. Yet the reader doesn't say anything, not knowing how to address such feelings to their beloved friend. Much less when it's unclear if he feels the same and he shows no signs of making a move romantically.

And then he meets that special girl. And the reader can do nothing but silently watch in heartbreak as their friend falls in love with this person. Deciding to love Link from afar and support him no matter what. Even when it's tearing the reader apart, because they love him, even when he's got his sights on his dream girl.

Basically a tragic romance kind of thing. Idk I think it'd be interesting to explore this kind of route.

You know, not to get TOO far into spoilers, but the more I play BG3, and pursue Asterion in one of my playthroughs, the more I begin to realize that he is basically a genderbent Ellie, but with more rizz.
