#Miko Month 2022 - the cross-post-ening

The first new pic with Sachiko I do, and you can also consider it as a "passing of baton" pic since it also has Miko, who just finished her OC-focus month lol. But I just wanted to draw the happy moms-to-be from that era~

Ahem... It's no secret that Sachiko and Miko are Yukina's parents. Specifically speaking, though, she's Sachiko's biological daughter. Her dad is an Ascendant, like Miko, but Miko's just the surrogate (scientifically speaking; but she's her mom just the same!)

The specifics were first explained in Chapter 6, but, if you're following via the revisit schedule, it's okay. I'll keep mum about it But if you know, you know...

But yes, the resemblance is pretty obvious once Yuki grows up a bit.

Miko Month: School Days

Miko attended an upper-average set of schools in her youth. She was a pretty average student - well, academically-speaking. Math was her weakest subject and, while she's a good reader, her speech was always something she had trouble with in terms of reading aloud. She's pretty average in art as well, despite the meta contrary. She joined art clubs in both schools because it was the only way she could express herself without looking "weird."

You think she used her powers for mischievous reasons? Yup~ Nothing too bad, though. She'd time little bursts of teleports to make it look like she was gaining speed in races, heh... For the most part, she listened to Rin's suggestions in NOT using them publicly (until a certain incident).

She hated homework. She tried to get it done at school so she'd have time to focus on other parts of her life (hanging with Sachiko, NKP stuff...)

She tried to be good for her dad...and to avoid as many wrath moments from her mom as possible. Ah, but that's okay. She'd not live with them for her WHOLE high school career...

The very first picture I did to tease what would become "Raison d'Etre." I did a redraw later on that same year, and then another one about 3 years later. 

 ....I think it may be time for another one, eh? HOWEVER, there will be a big difference if I do a redraw of that pic. 

See, Teen Miko isn't the default Miko like I thought she would be, at first. Adult Miko *is*

See, the original idea for Raison was that Yukina would be reading nothing but diaries until the very end, so we'd just be seeing Sachiko, Miko, etc in their teen years. And then, at the verrrry end, we get to see SachiMiko as Yuki's moms. I strayed from that idea in Ch 3

Since then, including the Memory Series and random illustrations, and even into the REMIX project, I am making an effort to make Yuki's parents known from the beginning, and since the main plot takes place in the Present Day (2030), that would make these two the default now

So yeah, it should be fun doing a new version of this!

Miko has always been a pretty strong lady. There was a period where she was a bit less active, but when she got back to it, BAM! The guns returned!

You bet her family is proud of her!

Miko got her first scooter around the age of 17. It was a gift from her father and was a vintage style. The one she has as an adult is a modified, more recent-style model.

There are many, many other instances of Miko interacting with former selves, but a lot of their meanings are lost to folks who are newer fans. I also lost touch with some of the folks who came up with their own Mikos (with permission). Like, you had to have been there to fully get these pics

Miko Month: Miko and Yukina

Yukina is definitely one of Miko's top stars in her life. She loves her daughter VERY much and tries to provide that love as much as she can...

However, when Yuki was about to start school, that Ascendant organization run by her friend asked Miko to help in them reaching out to more lost Ascendants seek the guidance and acceptance they need, so she became a spokesperson for them abroad.

She saw less of her family.

She still called and she tried to visit for important holidays as much as she could! But it's kinda hard to do some of that stuff far away. Voices, yeah, that's nice at least, but video calls end up awkward because Miko has to cover her eyes to avoid awkward lens flares...

Also, OAR kept booking her for things and making her travel. Things even got a little tense at one point... Miko had to do something. 

And she did!

Well...at least for a few months. Then she was asked to do a few more things and that REALLY frustrated her. A lot. Her family said she could, though it did make Yukina wonder if she would return after this run. 

 Oh man. Miko made SURE this was her final run. Enough was enough!

She's got so much catching up to do, though. So much...

Miko Month: Fictional Heroes!

Miko's favorite is the Raisonverse's version of Kamen Rider - Kamen Knight! I've not come up with a specific name for her specific favorite, but she has donned the mask since she was a little girl~

She relates to their backstories (in a way. Even as a kid, she at least associated with the "loner" aspect) and a want to help others with the strange powers they were given. Her mom didn't like her enjoying a "boy's show," but her dad encouraged her to play.
