man i feel like yotsuyu was... so close to being great
if they had just gone from the angle of “shes someone who lived a life of constant abuse until she dove for the one way out she had and now she is willing to go to any length to keep the power she has. bc power = safety”
which would have made it all the more tragic when we see that her power, and thus her safety, is so conditional on her being considered successful by the empire.
any perceived failure comes with the very real threat of having all her protection revoked. but its the only thing she has, so all she knows to do is dig her nails in and do all she can to hold on to it.
even if it means being a monster, even if it means serving the empire that oppresses her people, even if it means being a villain, bc the one thing she will not be is powerless, not again
and i feel like they are SO CLOSE to that... but then they take a sharp right turn and go “actually she hates all domans specifically, and gets satisfaction/pleasure from torturing them in particular bc...? idk just go with it”
also she makes comments abt how doma is so corrupt but they never actually... show us that? no one else ever addresses that?

well i just had the rudest dps ive ever seen in sastasha :/
#even tho the healer said big pulls were ok this was just ridiculous. they just BOLTED AHEAD the WHOLE TIME#the healer was still in early lvl gear too. both that dps AND i died in the final pull bc of the dps pulling the final boss out of its room#and they just said the healer should be doing more dps??? AS I DIED.#i get it. its the first dungeon so its old hat to 90% of players#and it doesnt give much xp for leveling so you want it to be over but#have a little grace!! its everyone's first time at some point!#meredith plays ff14

i suppose its fitting that the last duty roulette i did to level red mage to 100 gave me the lvl 99 trial (which i am. bad at.)
and that id need to desperately scramble to rez the hearlers at least once
#on the one hand having the opportunity to help is good! i like feeling useful#on the other hand it never ceases to make me panic at least a little bit#but hey at least thats 3/5 classes at 100!#leveling tank and healer is gonna take a bit longer#since im not confident enough to do raids as tank#and im not comfortable doing rouls AT ALL as healer#theres always trusts and duty support tho!#and hopefully the new allied society quests will be added soon#meredith plays ff14
