A fun list of details I noticed upon a rewatch of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (2001)
Maxine Schreck's name is a reference to Max Schreck, who played Count Orlok in the original Nosferatu (1922)
The computer screen in the sauna scene talking about the vampire virus is actually a passage from a review of Bride of Frankenstein by Roger Ebert
Further, Dr. Praetorius's name is a reference to Dr. Pretorius, the antagonist from Bride of Frankenstein
The transvestite saying "goodnight, sweet prince" is a quote from Hamlet
The lesbian drop-in centre has movie posters of But I'm A Cheerleader (1999) and High Art (1998) - very sapphic films
The waitress wears a shirt saying "straight shooters" in the hooters font
The presence of vampires in Ottawa doesn't seem to be a secret as the newspaper headlines blatantly identified them
The same newspaper page has a pink triangle (gay symbol) in the chart displaying the "critical lesbian shortage" statistics
At the end of the movie, Jesus gets a phone call and says "Not now, JP", very likely referring to John Paul II, the pope at the time
