Although McRio's fame has been somewhat overshadowed by the success of his younger brother Rio, he is an excellent and fully grownup skater in his own right, comparable in skill to his brother in almost every respect. McRio was not able to attend Nationals this year, but he is reputed to have a body of work that is impressive enough to justify his inclusion on the Worlds team.

satomi ito is a japanese fashion and costume designer known for her works in the sports of figure skating. inspired by the dresses and skating performances of three-time world champion mao asada, ito has designed costumes for multiple renowned figure skaters, including a series of more than 30 costumes for two-time olympic champion yuzuru hanyu.

Mao Shimada's free program costume at the 2024 Youth Olympic, 2023 Junior Japanese Nationals and 2023 Junior Grand Prix Osaka. She skated to Benedictus from The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins, and her costume was created by Satomi Ito.

Step two: Pose with said flags.

Step three: Descend upon the photographers to discuss next steps.

So glad we got to end JNats with this wonderful event rather than the disaster that was the men. Kaori, Mao, Wakaba is a great podium! So happy that Wakaba made the podium and Rinka landed her 3A. This whole event was well skated but the last two groups were phenomenal!
