I think one of the reasons I love Id so much, especially for Makoto as Guda, is that one important trait of Makoto's in his source material is his seething anger and rage towards the mastermind-- anger that, at the very end, he doesn't follow through on. Because no matter the verse, no matter the world, Makoto is someone who would never be satisfied by any kind of vengeance, no matter how justified he would be in it.
