An article on Clint Eastwood (Rawhide): "This Cowboy Feels He's Got It Made", TV Guide, February 4–10, 1961, pp. 8–11.
I typed out the text from this to make it easier to read, but I didn't check if it was already floating elsewhere on the Internet before I did this—whoops. Highlights:
Mention of Eastwood singing on an episode and preparing to cut a record (presumably Rawhide's Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites, 1963)
Eastwood complaining about how annoying his long hair is and how he can't wait to get it back to a crew cut (I was surprised by this, considering his hair in the 70's)
How he got started on his pre-Rawhide career from 1954 to 1958. "'You,' said the assistant director, using the line generally reserved for pretty high school girls, 'oughta be in pictures.'"
Article (typed out) below the cut!
THIS COWBOY FEELS HE'S GOT IT MADE
Clint Eastwood of 'Rawhide,' an amiable young giant, just wants that cattle drive to go on and on and on
The dimly lighted outdoor set on MGM's vast Stage 22 made it difficult to distinguish the many figures that milled around the off-stage area. It was the Rawhide set, which differs little from any other set except for the small collection of tired-looking horses and the large collection of unkempt actors dressed in soiled cowboy outfits. The trim-looking script girl seemed oddly out of place.
Clint Eastwood, the tall, almost gangling young actor who plays Rowdy Yates, shuffled his feet and introduced a visitor to his co-star, deep-voiced, ebullient Eric Fleming.
"Yar," said Fleming to the visitor. "Are you anybody important? If you are, we'll find you a chair. Otherwise you can stand up like the rest of us peasants."
Fleming wandered off to study the various bits and scraps of paper to which he habitually reduces his script, and Eastwood unshuffled his feet long enough to pull up a couple of canvas chairs.
"I was sleeping," he said sheepishly. "You should have woke me up. Went back to the dressing room just to lie down for a bit."
The name Rowdy fits Eastwood about as well as Pollyanna fits Alfred Hitchcock. Even when completely awake, his manner is mild to the point of being apologetic. An amiable, quiet-spoken giant (6 feet 4) of 30, Eastwood likes to describe himself as "dull but happy." He has been married for the past seven years to model Maggie Johnson, lives in a San Fernando Valley ranch house, spends most of his off time prancing about in the surf at the beach or sitting home listening to his homemade hi-fi set.
A gentle soul, Eastwood is the kind of man who carefully picks struggling bees and grasshoppers from the surface of a swimming pool and returns them to their own element. "I always feel," he says a little defensively, "that they were put here for some purpose and it's not my business to let them drown."
Eastwood is, in fact, the antithesis of the hard-driving, ambitious young men who populate most of the other TV Westerns now on the air. They incorporate themselves, branch out into other businesses, itch to "do a play on Broadway," try their hand at directing and even producing. They are the Richard Boones, the Hugh O'Brians, the Robert Hortons, the Jim Arnesses, the Steve McQueens. And there are others.
Eastwood's medium-sized ambition at the moment, with Rawhide ready to begin a three-month layoff, was to star in a farcical French play for a Hollywood little-theater group. "We'd only do it for a couple of weeks—just for laughs," he explained. [It never came off, even for laughs.—Ed.]
"Then I'd like maybe to do a feature, something that might get me away from Westerns. I don't mean that I'm any drawing-room kind of actor or anything like that, but I always used to wear my hair in a crew cut and it would be kind of nice to get back to it again.
"They tell me the guys really did wear their hair long like this in the old trail days, but I don't see how they stood it. I would have sheared mine off as close as I could get it. Darn stuff picks up more dirt."
When Rawhide temporarily ceased production in mid-December (the series' comfortable backlog of episodes already filmed spurred the layoff to give producer Charles Marquis Warren time to work on his new Gunslinger series), Eastwood had done some [illegible digits] episodes of the hour-long films over a period of two years and was still looking forward to "doing as many more as the viewers care to put up with."
"I figure," he mused, "that I've done a little something for Rawhide, but I also figure they've done a little something for me. I have my beefs now and then, like anybody, but nothing serious. I'm under contract to CBS and sometimes they won't let me do an outside show because of what they call 'sponsor conflict.' I figure this is a little farfetched, but it's really not all that important, so I just go along."
Last September Rowdy Yates sang a song in a Rawhide episode. This has resulted in negotiations with several record companies, commercial enterprises dedicated to the proposition that while Frank Sinatra is good, anyone else who can sell records for whatever reason also is good.
(Proof of this, as any hapless parent with a teen-age offspring will willingly testify, lies in the fact that 13 of TV's Western heroes, most of them hitherto utterly inexperienced in the art of singing, have made at least one record. Eastwood makes the 14th—and this figure does not include any of the singing cowboys of prehistoric times, such as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Jimmy Wakely.)
Eastwood's flirtation with Tin Pan Alley is not to be construed as an indication that he is about to mount up and ride off in seven different directions. Eastwood likes Rawhide. He is even proud of it, which is a far cry from the average Western hero, who can't wait until his contract is up and school is out.
"I like to think," he says reflectively, "that Rawhide is at least honest. I mean, we're doing stories as they pretty much happened. Oh, occasionally I guess we hoke one up for dramatic purposes, but generally speaking we're doing the kind of things that guys on the cattle drives really did."
Warren, whose experience goes back to the first year of Gunsmoke and Jim Arness, says of Eastwood: "He's more than just a personality, I think. He's an actor. A quite fine actor, in fact. Like any other actor, he beefs now and again but they're generally justifiable beefs. If he thinks his part is too small in any given script, I'll hear about it.
"I think next season we may work on a strictly alternating basis, Eastwood to carry an entire show, then Fleming to carry one. That'll keep 'em both happy."
Eastwood fell into show business rather easily. While studying at Los Angeles City College in 1954 he also was holding down a part-time job at a filling station. One of his customers invited him to a cocktail party, and there he met an assistant director from Universal-International.
"You," said the assistant director, using the line generally reserved for pretty high school girls, "oughta be in pictures." A few days later he was, if a screen test can be considered a picture, and the test resulted in a contract and a series of insignificant parts in equally insignificant pictures. Remarkably, considering his height, looks and inexperience, he was cast in only one Western, and in it had just one line.
Leaving Universal after a year and a half, Eastwood signed on with RKO and found himself getting "Introducing Clint Eastwood" billing opposite Carol Channing in a Ginger Rogers movie called "The First Traveling Saleslady." The picture was not a success. Indeed, RKO folded shortly thereafter.
After a brief stint at Warner Brothers, where he appeared, briefly, in another unsuccessful picture, "Lafayette Escadrille," Eastwood wandered into TV via a role in a Highway Patrol episode. Late in 1956 he got into the now syndicated West Point series, going to New York to appear in "about half a dozen of them. The trouble with that series was that practically nothing ever happens to West Point cadets in real life. They march, go to classes, play football, study and go to bed. We'd open an episode with some strong dramatic line like 'You stole my laundry!' And where do you go from there?"
In short, Eastwood's "career" between 1954 and 1958 was about as fruitful and exciting as a postponed PTA meeting. One day early in 1958, however, he stopped by at CBS to see a friend of his wife's. Bob Sparks, then a CBS television executive, also picked the same time to drop in to see the same friend. He stared at Eastwood, took him back to his own office and had him read for a role that had been stumping producer Warren. The role was that of Rowdy Yates.
By that fall, 10 episodes of Rawhide, all an hour long, and expensive, had been filmed and there were still no takers. Eastwood got permission to do a Maverick over at Warner Brothers, the only other TV Western in which he has ever appeared. Rawhide finally got on the air in January 1959, and he has been with it ever since.
Says Clint: "I wasn't going anywhere when this show came along. Now I guess I'm a star. Eventually, like anyone else, I'd sort of like to branch out a bit, do other things. I don't figure Rawhide will last forever, but I don't figure to walk out on it, either."

Note
On this lazy Sunday I would love to hear some of your Mulder/Scully early relationship and post-revival headcanons if you feel comfortable sharing 😊
**Note**: No beta testing, we ghost edit later like men.
I'm not a Revival girlie; but I shall play fair and by the rules! >:DD
Hm. I think the Jackson story line would have made more sense if Jackson was a clone from one of Scully's ova, ala Emily or the Kurt Crawford project. But that aside, I think...
I haven't seen the Revival, so these are speculations.
I think Mulder and Scully would have reduced their workload, if not retired. Not because they could but because the second pregnancy would necessitate a "time out" for them to heal. It's their second chance; and with Mulder saying "what am I, if not a father?"-- horrible phrasing of that aside-- his focus would be hardwired in that direction. Requiem all over again: "there's more than this."
CSM's dead, right? Jackson's out there-- his expression from one screenshot after Scully's confession on the dock leads me to believe he knew she "gave him up" for his sake, and he'll be returning sooner rather than later. Jackson's Mulder's son.
I do, unfortunately, believe Miller and Einstein will be worked into the basement somehow, someway. I think Monica Reyes dies ala a Diana Fowley betrayal; but I'd love to see a confrontation between her and Scully on Monica's deathbed-- maybe a way to air grievances or work towards redemption? Skinner's forced into retirement, bless him: he did so much for his agents only for them to eat up his emergency cash on muffins. Maybe take up a position that allows him to get things handled while leaning on a cane? ...In that case, he probably wouldn't retire.
The baby's a girl, her name's Lily, GA and DD have spoken. Her parents never could decide on a middle name for her with all the lost people to honor. Maybe Lily has powers? Probably not-- there's no Messiah undercurrent to her story (...yet.) She adores Mulder and Scully, they adore her. Mulder tries to teach her words Scully will snort adoringly over. Scully tries to hone her motor skills faster-- in vain-- so Lily can pitch or toss or catch a baseball with Mulder. Her interests change daily and neither of them can figure out who she takes after more. Her hero is Horton, but because of the story where he hatched someone else's abandoned baby, not the Who one. She loves to lose things, purposefully: walking over a bridge, she'll toss her favorite toy in the lake below just to see what happens. She's not only the baby but the only niece on both sides of the family-- she is over-spoiled but philosophical with her wealth, handing them out to the unfortunates (her older male cousins) as an expression of her love and benevolence. Scully watched her like a hawk for a week when Lily's eyes grew wide and determined after Mulder told her about "Mommy pretending to eat a bug once."
On Mulder and Scully's early relationship: I wrote a LONG dissertation that I'm sticking under a "Read More" section.
Mulder and Scully were drawn to each other immediately, Scully's interest in his abilities turning into a crush in his basement turning into a tempered understanding after his Samantha revelation-- knowing him transformed him from "idol", in a way, to a human, a friend. She falls in love with him somewhere after, realizes it ~Darkness Falls or Tooms, but doesn't start acting on it until Little Green Men through her abduction. Mulder doesn't fall in love until ~Darkness Falls or Tooms; and doesn't realize it until One Breath (while Maggie knew by the end of Ascension and Melissa knew after their first few conversations.) Season 2 was tender healing, Season 3 was unhurried friendship-- the type where you can jealously cross lines and shove other kids on the playground outside the inner circle with a claim that hasn't crossed into romantic possession, strictly.
Early Season 4 began the shift for Scully: not that she wanted them to change, but that she felt that something should without realizing why-- not wanting to settle down in Home, but entertaining thoughts of Mulder's genetics; not wanting to believe in soulmates but aching that she wasn't Mulder's; believing it was the endless line when really it was Mulder's focus on that endless line instead of what was between them. Never Again taught them both lessons: Mulder became more attentive, tailoring Leonard Betts to her expertise and Scully walked away from more complicated issues (like she did later in Detour.) Memento Mori shifted from "we" are fighting this to Scully looking deep into her soul and making this battle-- not just her cancer, but also the mission-- HERS. Mulder was delighted; then began to panic as her condition worsened. Scully, seeing he couldn't handle her weakness-- out of fear-- became strong for him as well as her mom.
Redux II: emotional openness Mulder couldn't express at any other time. Detour: a return to his status quo because he, again, wasn't ready-- same with Fight the Future to The Beginning and Dreamland I. Scully was willing to wait not because he was dying over him but because he and the work fulfilled her; and she knew post Redux II (and was affirmed again in Fight the Future and Amor Fati) that he returned her singular devotion. In the meantime, she worked through her own pain and struggles, her own inability to trust attachment.
I believe Millennium was their first time, not just because of the IVF timeline I broke down, but also because Mulder had to see the alternative without her to set aside his last excuses and live a life with her. Then Samantha was found, and he was free... and then he ditched Scully to run off to England. Scully's unresolved issues from Never Again rose up in a new way: "did I make the right choice?" was called into question after so much of her life had changed but nothing really had, at all. By the end, she realizes it had, it did; she had, she did. And this was the perfect life for her, just as she'd always chosen. And she needed to accept it fully, like Mulder had post Amor Fati and Millennium.

Earth-18104 - 1970
List of events that occurred during the 70s. The story behind these events is not completely complete, some are well summarized. The (N) at the end of names serves to indicate character births and the numbers are their ages during these events.
I will include more events as I write more about the characters. Right now this is to help me find myself while writing for these stories. The story of these events were inspired by other medias like the comics, series and movies and include stories of my OCs.
List of events of Earth-18104 (Resume)

• Even after leaving, Xavier maintained a secret relationship with the Inner Circle.
• (Ben Grimm)
• After he discovered that his aunt had cancer, Ben Grimm (8) prayed to God to save her; Unfortunately, his aunt passed away and Ben was furious with what he saw as a cruel and indifferent god.

• She began to train her skills, moving small rocks in the garden at night, until one day she was discovered by one of the caregivers at the foster home.
• The man called her a "freak" and tried to grab Vienna. She he activated her powers and caused the ground to swallow him. Frightened, she fled and used her powers to create hiding places in caves.
• To survive, Vienna begged and occasionally stole, but stayed away from drugs and prostitution. She avoided others whenever possible, not knowing what they would do if they found out she was a mutant.
• (Randall Spector's death)
• During a barbecue with his family, Marc Spector (9) calls his brother Randall to go play in a cave; his mother Wendy reminds Marc to protect his brother.
• Arriving at a cave, Marc and Russell agree to pretend to be in a Tomb Buster movie as Steven Grant and Rosser.
• The rain starts to fall, and Randall says they shouldn't explore in the rain, but Marc insists it will be okay. Marc approaches the cave, and Randall follows hesitantly.
• Soon after they enter the rain increases and the cave fills with water and Randall drowns.
• At Randall's shiva, Wendy sits silently, accompanied by Elias Spector, who tries to comfort her. Marc comes down, but Wendy screams at him, blaming him for Randall's death.
1972 -
• When his father fell ill and died, Stephen Strange (28), was able to face no further tragedy in his family and refused to visit Eugene's deathbed.
• A few days later, an outraged Victor confronted Stephen at his apartment because of his apparent lack of grief. After the confrontation, Victor ran out of the apartment and fell into the path of an oncoming car.
• On Marc Spector's tenth birthday, his father tries to get Wendy Spector to join them, but she doesn't respond.
• Marc realizes she's not coming, so Elias explains that she's not well, and that they would celebrate alone. A saddened Marc blows out nine candles, leaving his father to blow out the remaining ones.

Mein A/B/O-Arrowverse-AU-Verse:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Endgame Pairings in diesem Verse sind (trotz diverser andere Pairings zwischendurch):
Tumblr media
Atomwave (Ray Palmer/ Mick Rory) , Captains3 (Sara Lance/ Rip Hunter/ Leonard Snart), Vixensteel (Amya Jiwe/Nate Heywood),  Westhallen (Iris West/ Eddie Thawne/Barry Allen) , Lauriver (Laurel Lance/Oliver Queen), Karamel (Kara Danvers/Mon-El), Sanvers (Maggie Sawyer/Alex Danvers), Constangreen (John Constantine/Gary Green), Guardiancorp (James Olsen/Lena Luthor), Winniac-5+ Nia (Winn Schott/Brainiac-5/Nia Nal, wobei Nia mehr ein Add-On in der allerletzten Supergirl-Fic ist eine logische Konsequenz, das gebe ich gerne zu), Avafrost (Ava Sharpe/Caitlin Snow), Coldray (Leo Snart/Ray Terrill), Clois (Clark Kent/Lois Lane), Jocile (Joe West/Cecile Horton), Martians (J’onn J’onzz/M’gann M’orzz), SmoakDetective (Donna Smoak/Quentin Lance), Dyla (John Diggle/Lyla Michaels), Throy (Thea Queen/ Roy Harper) sowie Kate Kane/Renée Montoya (wobei ich Montoya lange bevor es den Charakter in „Batwoman“ gab geschrieben habe).
Tumblr media

A sneak peek at some of the action that will take place on DAYS during the week of September 11, 2023. Be sure to tune in to DAYS every weekday to see how everything plays out.
Several schemes sizzle in Salem, while things get hot for two fugitives! Plus, shots fired, and families grow
Though the truth about Sarah's baby remains under wraps, the family welcomes the newborn wholeheartedly
A distressed Sarah's loved ones receive some troubling news, while there's a breakthrough with Salem's troubled mystery man
The not-a-mystery-anymore man is eagerly embraced and warmly welcomed into the Evans-Black family
Brady and Belle are shocked to meet their new grandfather, and Paul's homecoming is perfectly timed to meet him, too
Having arrived with Paul, Andrew's eager to get all the latest on his sister's complicated life, though tricky Theresa might not be totally truthful.
Kayla and Stephanie are thrilled to reunite with Theresa, while others in Salem still aren't rolling out the welcome mat.
Brady best beware, as even a short time in town is enough for Theresa to stir up trouble, and the seasoned schemer's already se
Theresa tries to turn up answers by tracking her ex, though the Greece-bound Brady and Alex's big break may go bust
Believing Brady and Theresa's breakup is truly water under the bridge, Alex hopes to pursue his cousin's ex
Brady doesn't believe there will be a problem if Alex and Theresa date, but he does believe his ex is likely to cause problems for his cousin
As Alex and Theresa agree to a date, in the wake of Victor's death, the house of Kiriakis has a deluge of difficulties -- and one Vivian-sized predicament
An infuriated Julie jumps to Maggie's defense after Vivian proclaims the former Mrs. Mickey Horton wasn't legally married to former mobster Victor
Though in disbelief, Maggie's quick to jump to her own defense, too, and claps back at Madame Alamain (possibly Madame Kiriakis)
seeking truths.
Madame Alamain's proclamation continues to rattle Maggie and clan, so Justin takes aim at solving the family's Vivian problem
No stranger to causing chaos, Vivian becomes problematic for son Stefan, too, and for his new bride, Gabi
Leo attempts to do damage control, but newlywed Gwen's no novice when it comes to scheming, and her suspicions are certainly on the rise
A bombshell from his bestie, Gwen, lands on Leo, and a wowed Lady Whistleblower is unlikely to love what he hears
Johnny loves what he hears from Chanel when the conflicted baker breaks the news that she's finally decided who she wants to be with
Chanel's choice isn't so terrific for Talia, who ends up drinking her blues away, and she gets some sympathetic company
Shawn hits the bottle again, which bothers Belle, and he ends up in conflict with his worried wife once again
The town's once again shocked when a Salemite falls from gunfire, and Bayview buddies Ava and Harris continue to bolt
Injured hitwoman Joyce is hit up for answers by Jada, while Rafe rushes to wrangle fugitives Ava and Harris
A rushed E.J. may have made a rookie mistake that could cost him everything, and he may have to resort to drastic measures.
A sneak peek at next week
Watch out, Salem, when Kristen and Gwen put their sneaky heads together to scheme
Schemer extraordinaire Vivian certainly rubs CEO Maggie the wrong way, and they're headed for a Titan-sized throwdown.
Scheming might become a whole lot easier for Theresa when she becomes privy to a powerful secret
Both Brady and Alex hope that Greece holds the answers they're seeking, while a steamed Nicole has plenty of questions for her groom-to-be
Rafe tries to rattle the truth out of Tripp, as Ava and Harris are across the pond on their perilous pursuit
Belle is beside herself when she can't seem to find Shawn, while a bombshell awaits Philip.
Down the Road: Summer Preview
Outside of Nicole's ongoing "Who's the daddy?" drama -- that she doesn't know is still ongoing, thanks to Sloan -- she still struggles with the possibility of being unable to carry a baby to term
Though Sloan believes her savage duplicity saved her relationship with Eric, she struggles to secure the next step with him
Just as Kate and Roman bask in their reunion, their contrary moral compasses may cause conflict
In fact, a familiar face returning to Salem could cause Kate's compass to shift again and stir up strife at the already tumultuous Titan
Even after Alex is fired from Titan, things get even more heated between him and Maggie once he begins working with the enemy
Alex and Chad might both be the odd men out of Stephanie's heart when an old flame returns to Salem
Even when Abe finds his way home, that doesn't exactly mean that he's out of the woods
Now that Wendy believes she's chosen between Johnny and Tripp, someone else enters the picture that could change everything
Shawn and Belle's relationship faces a serious test when a struggling Shawn starts pushing Belle away after shooting his father
Shawn and Belle's hardships couldn't come at a worse time, as a long-standing sore spot resurfaces
Things turn deadly in Salem this summer, and not everyone will live to see the fall
Seasoned Salem troublemaker Madame Alamain's return to the scene will certainly create chaos
