So when they first introduced sublime I the latest episode my first thought was that we were getting a character similar to kagami when she started out

A character who was pressured to uphold the standard of perfection or in this case the ruse of being sublime at all times

This theory was made more evident by her mother being a bit overbearing

However in the end we see that, that is just sublimes character, she does all the things she does because she's a genuinely kind and act person and it's clear that running is her passion

So it would seem we got a pretty incredible new character, and im really excited to see where this all goes

I have a lot to say about this scene

First of all, as we can say after the notebook we’ve seen in the last episode and the fact that they were watching the whole situation, this person should be Lila Iris or whatever we call her now. However, the body and overall appearance come off as masculine. From the shape of the body (Lila has wide hips, unlike this character) to the way of walking, but this might just be the animation. The person simply seems so masculine; I cannot even explain why.

So, clearly Sublime's prosthetics are terribly made right?

They completely shattered from a little soap and from a trip. If they can't support her bodyweight she shouldn't be using them.

This girl weighs what... 8 stone? You're telling me that's enough to cause these things to break like glass?

Because no way did the soap make them that fragile. Water doesn't do that to metal or carbon fiber.

Get better legs girl, you got ripped off.

As a former ancient greek student, i can confirm this is 100% true 😆

Leg Up

Getting up in the morning had its challenges.

Well, sitting up in bed was fine. But actually climbing out of said bed proved difficult.

Especially if, say, one of your legs somehow had fallen over in the night.

Sublime sighed. Her right leg was still at her bedside, ready to be attached, but her left leg had fallen in such a way that would require some awkwardness to try and get it back.

This might have proved difficult in years passed. At one point she used to keep a stick behind her bed so that she didn't have to rely on her parents to retrieve one of her fallen legs.

Her father never minded coming to help. Her mother...had a different way of seeing things which once involved her crawling on the ground...

Sublime shook her head. No! All in the past. She didn't need to rely only on herself for this.

She lightly tapped her still sleeping partner on the shoulder, which was enough to wake her up.

"Marinette, dearest, um-"

"Did one of your legs try to run away in the night?"

Marinette had broached the idea of moving in together, something that crossed over Sublime's mind a few times but she pushed back on. Above anything else, she did not want Marinette to be anything like a "carer". Independence had become very important to her after getting out from her parents.

"Sublime, I don't see it that way. I see it as a necessary step so that we can plan our lives out together."

Her partner's argument of course won Sublime over. Marinette could be very convincing when she needed to be.

It turned out to be a great thing. Sublime didn't think of Marinette doing certain tasks for her as a person taking pity, but a partner showing her love. Not a carer, just a person who deeply cared. Something she did in return whenever possible, even making breakfast in bed for Marinette...

...when her legs would cooperate.

"Yes, my love. If you wouldn't mind..."

Marinette held a finger up to Sublime's lips and then got out of bed, going over and propping the wayward leg back up against side.

"Couldn't leave you with only a leg to stand on."

Sublime snorted, then reached down get her legs attached.

Even if Marinette was awake, breakfast still called out to be made.

Turns out I lied and had one more in me lol. A very recent pairing, too, considering that Sublime was only introduced in Season 6.

Pretension / Sublimation 🐔

Two episodes, one meaning. Once again, there are parallels in Felix and Marinette's actions.

Why would Marinette, who has so many friends, make another friend? But what seems more strange is not the desire to make a new friend, but the reason and the way to do it.

I am surprised that many viewers thought that Marinette's goal is to simply be friends with the girl her lover spends time with so often. This is really very naive and funny.

Of course, Marinette is just very jealous of Adrien and wants to know what's going on between him and Sublime.

This is not surprising, because Sublime is beautiful, smart, she is perfect. Marinette does not consider herself worthy of either Sublime or Adrien.

In this way, Marinette spies on Sublime so that at the right moment she can lend her a helping hand and become friends with her.

It reminded me of the episode "Pretension".

The episode in which the relationship between Kagami and Felix begins.

The essence is the same. Felix, in order to be in the field of view of the girl he has fallen in love with, tries to get closer to her friend Kagami. To do this, he creates (provokes) a situation (Kagami's conflict with her mother) in which Felix finds himself next to Kagami and gives her a helping hand. Felix manages to win Kagami's favor and get closer to her.

As a result, Kagami softens his attitude towards Felix and trusts him completely. 👇

The same thing happens in the episode "Sublimation", when Marinette, after making many mistakes and not right away, manages to win Sublim's favor and get closer to her.

The goal that Marinette and Felix were aiming for has been achieved.

I know the general take away from the Sublime episode is mari is back on her insecure stalking and weird way of approaching people she admires(even if her og motive was worry about potential Sublime x adrien chemistry).

And how they had Sublime relate to putting alot of pressure on herself just like marinette does which is why Sublime forgave mari.

But something occurred to me.....

Does anyone feel a odd parallel between adrien and Sublime?

Marinette still calls adrien perfect just like mari considered Sublime perfect.

It could be easy to see a parallel between Sublime's mom and dad with chloe's mom and dad as well as Kagami's.

But I keep thinking of what if they parallel adrien's parents a bit? Or could contrast them.....maybe I'm over thinking it since one is blond and a bit intense in trying to encourage her that she can handle herself while the dad os more sweet abd a bit mire gentle with the support where he believes in her but also wants her to know it's fine even if she messes up.

It makes me wonder about adrien's mom and dad's dynamic...if the mom was the gentle one if things didn't go well while gabe was the pusher...or would it be the opposite?

But even more than that....sublime talking to herself in the mirror and yet how understanding and fairly chill she seems about other people makes me think of adrien toward himself at times as chat.

I haven't seen it enough to articule the feeling. But I wo der if any of you could have thoughts on it?
