read one piece. do it. download the mangaplus app and you can read it legally for free from start to finish (once). do it. this is your sign to give it a shot. if you read like four chapters each day you will catch up in like less than a year, but the first 100 chapters are enough to just give it a shot (just enough to see the best the most mediocre part of the series has to offer)

honestly if I were to try it I'd probably watch One Pace, but in my understanding that's still pretty dang long idk
