 My area, my pride
Hey dudes! Here’s my writing about my area- Triplicane. Being born and brought up here, I have always been truly enamoured by this place. Take a walk through my area as you walk with me.
A typical person’s morning would start with waking up before the sun does. The birds join the melody of the creek of the gate when it is opened. You walk past a tea kada round the corner and the hot vapour hits your face. As you relish the aroma and walk in a trance, you will already be standing  near the Kannagi statue. A walk by the sea as you enjoy the sunrise, amidst the ethereal hues, towards your right, Parthasarathy  temple bhajans envelop the air, infusing it with divine vibrations. The distant resonance of the Wallajah mosque prayers adds to the harmony, creating a sublime tapestry of spirituality and serenity that uplifts my soul with every breath. A few steps towards the right and you will find yourself in the busiest market and the enchanting fragrance of the flowers……Deports you to the ethereal world.
“There is no place in this world warmer than our native land”. I am with a heart full of reverence and a voice brimming with pride as I write about a place that holds a special place in my heart – Triplicane, my area, my pride.
Nestled amidst the bustling city of Chennai, Triplicane stands as a testament to the beauty of tradition .Our neighbourhood is not just a geographical location; it's a harmonious blend of communities, languages, and beliefs that come together to create a vibrant mosaic.
Thiruvallikeni, derived from Thiru-Alli-Keni in Tamil, means 'Sacred Lily Pond.' This area is also known as Vrindaranyam in the Brahmanda Purana.
The heart of Triplicane beats with historical significance. The Parthasarathy Temple, an architectural marvel, stands tall as a beacon of spirituality and heritage. And towards your other hand lies a marvel, Built during the 18th century, the Wallajah mosque showcases a unique blend of Islamic and Indo-Saracenic architectural styles.
But it's not just the past that defines Triplicane; it's the people who breathe life into its streets. We are a community of resilience and unity.
The magnificent M.A Chidambaram Stadium stands as a coliseum of cricketing dreams, where the roar of passionate fans merges with the echoes of legendary clashes. Its hallowed grounds are a theatre of sporting epics, where each blade of grass holds the weight of history, and every cheer reverberates through time.
The Madras university and the Presidency college are another thing we are proud of. It has borne many great and renowned people. Imagine this place as a Hogwarts for geniuses, where legends like Abdul Kalam and Ramanujan once walked down the halls. The Big street boasts twin schools, one Hindu and the other Muslim, gracing its distant extremes.
In the heart of Triplicane, two sanctuaries of enlightenment stand as pillars of celestial wisdom. Bharathiyar Illam emanates the pulsating spirit of Subramanya Bharathi. And the Vivekananda House, a hallowed abode, echoes Swami Vivekananda's teachings, bridging the mortal realm with the ethereal.
Triplicane truly portrays unity in diversity in every possible way. Triplicane is like the lovechild of Ramzan and Diwali – it's all about sharing and caring. I mean, who else would eagerly await both biryani and sweets with the same excitement? It's like a food festival that never ends!
From the shopkeepers who greet us with warm smiles to the elderly who share their stories of yesteryears, Triplicane is more than just a collection of buildings – it's a family, a tapestry woven with threads of camaraderie.

[ad_1] Chinaman Noor could come in as fourth spinner at tweaker-friendly ChepaukCHENNAI: Two days after they pulled off an incredible victory over defending champions England, Afghanistan will be eager to do it all over again, against two-time runners-up New Zealand in the World Cup match at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here on Wednesday.A 69-run victory over England, after two forgettable defeats against Bangladesh and India, would have certainly whetted their appetite. With the win, Afghanistan also snapped their 14-match losing streak in the World Cup. Hashmatullah Shahidi's team performed like a well-oiled unit as batters Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ikram Alikhil rose to the occasion and the bowlers made the best use of the Arun Jaitley stadium surface that helped their spinners to bowl England out on Sunday. On a spin-friendly pitch here at Chepauk, Afghanistan, who are likely to thrive on turning tracks, have a potential trump card amongst them - leggie Rashid Khan. Rashid is someone who knows the Indian conditions like the back of his hand, thanks to his stints in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 25-year-old weaved his magic against England as well as he scalped three wickets.Apart from Rashid, off-spinners Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, have been in the thick of things. Afghanistan might also be tempted to play a fourth spinner - Noor Ahmad - who had a dream debut season in the IPL 2023. The 18-year-old represented Gujarat Titans and bagged a total of 16 wickets in 13 matches. For long, the batting department remained a chink in Afghanistan's armour. However, they seem to have dealt with the issue as opener Gurbaz has been setting the tone with his stroke play. Skipper Hashmatullah, wicketkeeper-batter Ikram and allrounder Azmatullah Omarzai have been providing the impetus in the middle. And, some final flourish from Rashid and Mujeeb on certain occasions have come in handy for the Afghans. But skipper Hashmatullah is "not totally satisfied" with the team's batting. "I think I am still not totally satisfied with our batting. In recent matches, we have lost back-to-back wickets in the middle over, which put our team under pressure," said the 28-year-old southpaw. On the other hand, New Zealand have been in fine form, winning three in a row. The Black Caps, who eased past Bangladesh by eight wickets, will once again be without regular skipper Kane Williamson, who has a fractured thumb. Stand-in captain Tom Latham will take over the reins --he marshalled his troops quite efficiently in the recent past as New Zealand began their World Cup campaign with two straight wins.Wicket-keeper Latham is aware of the threat that Afghanistan pose but is up for the challenge. "They'll (Afghanistan) be flying high with confidence and I'm sure they'll be looking to do the same to us. They have some fantastic bowlers in their squad, not only their spinners but also their seamers. We've prepared our best to deal with their bowlers," said Latham.!(function(f, b, e, v, n, t, s) ; var TimesApps = window.TimesApps; TimesApps.toiPlusEvents = function(config) var isConfigAvailable = "toiplus_site_settings" in f && "isFBCampaignActive" in f.toiplus_site_settings && "isGoogleCampaignActive" in f.toiplus_site_settings; var isPrimeUser = window.isPrime; if (isConfigAvailable && !isPrimeUser) loadGtagEvents(f.toiplus_site_settings.isGoogleCampaignActive); loadFBEvents(f.toiplus_site_settings.isFBCampaignActive); loadSurvicateJs(f.toiplus_site_settings.isSurvicateActive); else var JarvisUrl="https://jarvis.indiatimes.com/v1/feeds/toi_plus/site_settings/643526e21443833f0c454615?db_env=published"; window.getFromClient(JarvisUrl, function(config) if (config) loadGtagEvents(config?.isGoogleCampaignActive); loadFBEvents(config?.isFBCampaignActive); loadSurvicateJs(config?.isSurvicateActive); ) ; )( window, document, 'script', ); [ad_2] Source link

THE POWER OF 3D PRINTING TECHNOLOGY: A TRIBUTE TO MS DHONI WITH A MINIATURE M.A. CHIDAMBARAM STADIUM
The impact of 3D printing on our lives is enormous, even extending  to the world of sports. Nexgen3D, in collaboration with Miniature World Modelmakers, recently demonstrated the potential of 3D printing technology by creating a one-of-a-kind gift: a miniature model of  M.A. Chidambaram, also known as Chepauk Stadium. This special keepsake was presented to cricket legend MS Dhoni during his final game in Chennai  of the 16th season and symbolizes the love and admiration of countless fans.
The idea of creating a 3D printed miniature of  Chepauk Stadium was conceived and sponsored by architect Sivakumar R. of Miniature World Modelmakers. The meticulous model covered every detail of the stadium, from the miniature floodlights to the stands and the model dedicated to "Thali" himself, MS Dhoni. A particular feature were the seats, which were decorated in military tones in homage to the rank of  Lieutenant Colonel Dhoni in the Indian Army2.
Nexgen3D helped bring this tribute to life. As a leading  3D printing service provider, Nexgen3D has played a key role in creating the complex 3D printing model. The project required extensive planning, precision and a total of 160 hours.
