mortal kombat x fe3h?

these are definitely some questionable placements, but this is what role i feel like these characters would suit if they were in fe3h! i also did my best to try and balance them out a bit in terms of numbers

black eagles are ambitious and have strong moral compasses, with ashrah, mileena, rain, and bi-han all being characters with goals and strong convictions. as to who would be the edelgard of these four, i have no idea, but the closest i could say would be bi-han (which would be ironic, considering the association BE has with fire)

blue lions are more noble and righteous, with a hefty dose of trauma somewhere in there. everyone in this list is on the more collected and calm side, but can show terrifying vengeance and anger if driven to it, especially raiden and kitana. geras would be a bit more of a mercedes, while scorpion could perfectly suit the dimitri role (and thus, make the bi-han kuai liang rivalry even worse, which is perfect!)

golden deer are full of lighter-hearted characters, but everyone knows when to get serious, especially tanya who's the clear outlier of these four. everyone here is clever in some way or form, especially johnny. i would say the claude of this group would be either smoke or kung lao, as both can make jokes but also think up of plans on the down low. also being the neutral party between the brothers would extra suck

ashen wolves are outcasts and those that have been driven to the shadows for numerous reasons. everyone here is either radicalized such as havik and nitara or shunned by an outside group like baraka and reptile, making them the perfect group of wolves. would definitely say reptile is probably the (unlikely) leader of this group, as he shares a lot of similarities with yuri and is a kind soul at heart

church of seiros is essentially just the outworld entourage. as the church of seiros in fe3h is full of a wide variety of characters, there's a pretty colorful cast here as well. li mei would make a great seteth to sindel's rhea role as the archbishop, and shang tsung would be a formidable tomas or jeritza, as part of well, the real enemy along with shao and reiko

kenshi being byleth is definitely the weirdest pick here but hear me out. dude with a magic sword who gets blessings from spirits? along with a darker backstory of working for a neutral/bad party? that sounds an awful lot like a byleth to me. kenshi losing his sight could be part of the story and him getting it back with sento with the help of liu kang could be his awakening

liu kang being sothis is pretty self-explanatory i feel. i almost made geras sothis bc time associations, but liu kang doesn't really fit anywhere else, and he WAS a keeper of time, so i mean... either way, him being close with kenshi would be pretty canon too

some extra notes (with fe3h spoilers; exercise caution):

- ashrah is more of a representative of petra, being an outsider compared to the other three characters, and as someone whose ambition is more self-centered - while bi-han wouldn't be noob saibot, he would probably have some of his traits as part of his trauma on being experimented on by shang tsung. this would estrang him from kuai liang entirely and wipe his memory of being his brother - speaking of brotherhood, the dagger that's so important to the dimi-edel storyline would definitely be the ice dagger that bi-han attacks kuai liang with in mk1. i would say it stays frozen forever and is held by magic in order to not to be noticeable as ice and give away the whole story - raiden was definitely not put into blue lions because of his thunder magic i swear he wasn't nope ahahhaahaha just a funny coincidence - kung lao and lorenz are awfully similar in demeanor which is rather hilarious. tanya would also make a great lysithea, being the serious one that isn't taken very seriously - while reptile would be a great yuri, baraka and havik are both more akin to balthus in form while nitara is closer to hapi. also would love the idea of reptile triple-crossing his three house members in cindered shadows - reiko would 100% be aelfric, being the simp he is for shao. alternatively, he'd also be cyril in that sense, even tho sindel is rhea - fuck gender-locked classes, li mei would 100% be a wyvern lord - scanning amiibo and seeing the double byleths could actually just show two liu kangs, one from when hes not keeper of time and one from when he is canon classes? (assuming no gender locked bc fuck gender locked classes IM STILL MAD ABOUT THIS. that and ignoring final classes for the house leaders + byleth):

Bi awakening!! If fire emblem had support about subject like queerness it would have been so good... And for Dimitri, I'm sorry for him because he's definitely closeted. - my moder!au is so long lmao, but i plan to start publish it after i finish my azure moon fic! a little snippet: it's a reincarnation au, byleth works at a high school where some of the characters study (dimitri, ingrid, felix, annette, bernadetta, marianne, flayn and others), mercedes works in byleth's fav pub while she studies in nurse school and she and byleth are friends, dedue's family has a famous restaurant and ashe works with him, sylvain is in university and the faerghus four are all long time friends (chaotic friends ofc u.u), f!shez is there too... and so are arval and sothis!! sothis is byleth's best friend while arval is shez's best friend. stuff happens, mostly dimileth but also netteflix, sylgrid, mercedue and other minor ships. mostly comedy and fluff but there's also angst 👀

- about the rarepair: i think i'm the only person on earth who ships sothis with arval LMAOOO 😭 (relevant to my modern au eheh) i also like the idea of f!shez with flayn. i ship ashe and marianne but i'm not sure it's a rarepair. as for dimitri and byleth- yes, i cant bring myself to really ship anything that isnt dimileth xD i do like some byleth ships (mercedes, seteth, felix, jeritza, dorothea, even edelgard) but i dont engage with them often; if i had to choose someone else for dimitri (like in a world without byleth) i'd go for dedue or felix, but again, dimileth is the only ship for them in my heart and in my mind LMAO

Tea, Love And Celebrations - Edelgard Rare Pair Week Day 6

Alright it's #EdelgardRarepair day 6. I present you post-war Edelgard X Byleth, Shez, Monica, Hubert [trans], Hilda, Leonie, Manuela, Petra, Lysithea, Mercedes, Constance, Hapi, Ladislava, Ingrid, and Berni. Edelgard has a gay old party.

This one is over double the length of my last biggest one for the week. Doing this as a challenge for the week and trying to write these as little quick fics has been a lot of fun and a great way to have some fun creative juices going as I work on bigger projects like the Thirsty Sword Lesbians expansion.

Three Houses/Hopes x Taskmaster

AKA here's how I think the kids would do in a school-wide Taskmaster competition.

GARREG MACH STAFF

My thinking is that this is a lighthearted team-building game across houses, like a school sports day, so that’s why it’s students-only. If the staff participated, here's how I'd categorize them:

Rhea: I do not see a universe in which she participates lol. like I try to envision it and it does not compute

Seteth: just does the task

I included Cyril above just cause of his age and his likelihood to become a Garreg Mach student post-canon. He's only in “asks for help” because he needs someone to read the tasks out. After he hears it he’d be “just does the task.” But I wanted to put someone else in the bottom category with Hilda lol

Hanneman: would fall under the “distinguished older gentleman who completely loses his marbles over something small” category if there was one. Otherwise, loophole user or overly competitive

Manuela: I didn’t make an “older woman who makes every task as horny as possible” category, but if she was involved I’d make one just for her

Gilbert: gets distracted by something small, like categorizing all the rubber ducks by color or cleaning up after himself, and forgets to do the task. In this tier, “doesn’t give a fuck”

Catherine: overly competitive

Shamir: just does the task

Alois: does his best with mixed results

Jeralt: doesn’t give a fuck

PLACEMENT NOTES

Alois as Taskmaster was something I came around to after the subreddit recommended it. He'd award a bonus point randomly to whoever genuinely laughs at his puns.

I considered Seteth as Little Alex Horne, because he does have a sense of humor, but I think he's too genuine of a “straight man” to join in the spirit of the game. I do think he'd do well in the studio portion, reciting the stats and calling out mistakes/quipping back when the conversation gets rowdy.

But I like the thought of Byleth as the assistant for the recorded on-site tasks as someone who: 1. would get their hands dirty, and 2. doesn't mind the students making fun of them. Either way, I think a hard-working assistant (Seteth/Byleth) carefully planning all of these tasks only for the results to be judged by Alois who decides winners on his whims would be a funny inverse of the Davies/Horne dynamic, and very on brand with the show.

I thought about putting Ingrid in the “just does it” category but I think she’d get competitive if it were a game of BL vs other houses. If it’s just her house, she’d just want to have a good time. If it’s vs the other houses, she wants to represent her country well.

Annette is in the competitive category because she reads the task and immediately gets to work once the timer starts. Too concerned with Doing a Good Job and doesn’t read over the task and think it over, much less check under the table or look for any hints.

Claude also could have been in “overly competitive” but I think he’d have too much fun trying to find loopholes that he wouldn’t care about winning, he’d just try to have a good time bending the rules as much as possible or getting a rise out of the TM+assistant. Like Rhod Gilbert but with less antagonism.

Petra is in the loophole-user category because she is smart, and I think her second-language skills would help her here. She’d read instructions and interpret them as the Rules as Written, not Rules as Intended, which comes in handy in this game.

I haven't played Scarlet Blaze yet, so admittedly I had to make an educated guess on Monica based on content I've seen at a glance and fandom reactions to her.

Lysithea is ambitious in schoolwork and stuff that matters, but I think for something this nonsensical, she’d just do the task to get it over with. That is assuming she shows up at all.

I was torn with Sylvain because he is the type to show off, but since this is something that ultimately does not matter, he doesn’t want to try hard, fail, and look like an idiot doing something stupid like Felix or His Highness, so I think he’d just be in it for a good time. He occasionally wins without even trying, which absolutely infuriates Felix, who says he does not care (he does care).

For Felix himself I swung between “overly competitive,” “just does the task,” and “doesn't give a fuck.” But I think he's competitive only in certain things (he wouldn't get bent out of shape if he can't draw a horse with his feet), and I think he is too passionate a person to put in no effort at all. For most tasks I think he'd fall somewhere in the middle in terms of effort, thinking this is all stupid but still privately kind of wanting to do well.

SUBCATEGORIES

Subcategory 1: “Does the tasks while wearing a unique/weird Taskmaster outfit” includes Sylvain, Caspar, Hilda, Flayn (Seteth helped her make it), and all the house leaders. Dimitri and Edelgard got convinced into wearing one by their class. Claude was down to wear one immediately.

Subcategory 2: “Does good on the art tasks and nothing else” includes Ignatz, Flayn, and Bernadetta

PRIZE TASK IDEAS

I see Claude making a running gag out of his prize tasks, like something that embarrasses Edelgard or Dimitri every single round but it's always a tossup who it'll be. Like for "bring in the thing someone will miss the most," he'd bring in all of Dimitri's left shoes. Claude would also bring in the Sword of the Creator for "most high-octane item" and it's unclear whether he stole it or Byleth lent it to him because she thought it'd be funny.

Caspar would get a tattoo of the Taskmaster.

Raphael brings in the grilled cheese/cheese toastie box for "best subscription."

Hilda would be a big-time bullshitter like Judi Love trying to talk up all of her prize tasks.

Petra would bring in a reindeer skull for "most unusual item."

Hubert would find some way to bring in human blood in every task.

In a shocking turn of events, Ashe would steal the Spear of Assal for his "best stolen item."

Leonie is responsible for the "And I haggled for it" running joke, but it's unintentional.

Someone like Edelgard, Dedue, or maybe Ignatz would bring in the puzzle box, I'm not entirely sure who, but what I DO know is that Sylvain is responsible for "Just open the box, you p***y" and Byleth calmly stands, motions him over, and pulls him outside to chastise him while the entire class watches in disbelief/horror.

Ingrid brings in the laminator. It's by far her proudest moment in the competition.

MISC NOTES

Edelgard would be like Victoria Coren Mitchell: She'd keep trying to apply reason to the tasks, with mixed results, but on certain things (that may or may not even help her in the competition) I think she'd shine. Like when Victoria calculated everyone's scores in her head before Alex and Greg did, or when she taught herself how to ride a bike on camera just to complete the task.

Dimitri would just try to have a good time, but the assistant would need so many extra props because he'd end up breaking a lot of the materials. He would do excellent on all the food tasks though. In "Eat this egg the fastest" he'd just break it on the counter and swallow it raw.

Claude would get caught out by the two-part tasks every time because he'd try to be so clever working on Part 1 that it'd end up fucking him over. He'd make the obscenely tall chocolate sandwich for "make the most exotic sandwich" only for the second task to say he now has to eat all of it as fast as possible.

Felix mockingly saying "All the information is on the task" becomes a meme. Most of his tasks are crumpled from all the times he's clenched his fist in anger.

Leonie + Hilda on a team = Ed Gamble + David Baddiel. "Can I just check, have I been put on a team with Hilda Valentine Goneril?"

Solo tasks: The TM would probably want to give all the house leaders unique tasks, e.g. making Edelgard count all the beans in a can or Dimitri send him 500 cheeky texts. But I think Felix, Ferdinand, Hilda, Sylvain, or Lorenz getting extra tasks would be best for entertainment value. I think Felix is the only one who might be a sore loser about it, but god it'd be funny (even Lorenz might laugh it off if he sees it ~endears him to the public~ or something).

Sorry it took me a while to answer, but here are my answers !!

Edelgard and Hapi:

I'm not a fan, but that's no fault of the ship. Of course, I appreciate the aesthetic, which might be even better that Lysithea x Edelgard given Hapi's natural dislike towards the Church; but I've just... always kinda struggled to love the Ashen Wolves ? I think it's because I played the DLC well after most people on here, so I had been super hyped up beforehand, but in truth i ended up finding them a bit underwhelming. I never thought Balthus would end up being my favorite out of the four, because he was the first one to flatter Byleth by calling them their professor.

But yeah. Good ship, just me being me. xD

Dorothea and Ashe:

I feel like they'd end up being an overall really wholesome pair, and their aesthetic would also be really nice. I definitely wouldn't be oppsed to see more content about them ! All in all, I do prefer them as friends, though.

Hubert and Ingrid:

The premise of this whole ship seems immensely funny, but I definitely see how it could work. Another impeccable aesthetic given how loyal the both of them are, but how twisted Hubert can be !! I feel like it'd be incredibly refreshing. They'd definitely be an odd pair !!

However, I do think the metaphorical value of Ingrid falling in love with someone from the """"evil"""" side is better conveyed through a ship like Edelgard x Ingrid. It'd be a lot less funny, though.

3 male characters I love:

only three? this is really hard for this game 🥺 one of them has to be dimitri, who's just my absolute favorite fire emblem guy out there. i think the other two would have to be claude and ferdinand. i love all three of them so much, they have such compelling stories and their s-supports are absolutely adorable! plus, they all got great va's! honorable mentions to sylvain and seteth (or just every male student 👉🏻👈🏻)

3 female characters I love:

my favorite fire emblem girl is dorothea! i absolutely adore her and i'm so glad she's one of the bi options! she also says one of my favorite lines in the entire game. spoiler: if you kill ferdie but have dorothea recruited, she'll remind you of the times when he was on your side and just... got that part always makes me cry! plus, she's voiced by allegra clark who i adore! that woman is so talented and funny, she's genuinely perfect for the role as dorothea!

my second favorite girl is petra who's just really cute. her little language mistakes are adorable and she's such a genuinely kind person. i absolutely love her!

third place is hard, but i think i have to go with flayn! she's just such a sweet heart and such a funny character! plus i love her va as well (her va & seteth's va act like actual siblings in all their interviews togethers and it's both adorable & very funny).

3 romantic ships I love:

byleth and dimitri, for sure! this is absolutely a self insert situation, i'm not even going to hide it. i love dimitri and his relationship with byleth is very sweet, but i'm def cheating a bit by picking them.

second place has to be dorothea and ferdinand! i love both of them so much individually but they somehow get even better when they're together??? i love their A support in three hopes, where they are just yelling at each other and everyone assumes they are a couple. they are definitely in love and nobody can convince me otherwise. plus, again, their va's have such a funny dynamic with each other and they are great individually, but even better together.

i can't actually decide on a third pairing because i like all those ships equally, but some that come to my mind are lysithea x cyril (very cute & wholesome), edelgard x claude (very interesting dynamic; likely frenemies to lovers) and like... pretty much all the blue lions with each other. seriously, these people should all date each other. i can't even pick a fav blue lions ship!

3 platonic dynamics I love:

my favorite platonic pairing is seteth and flayn! they are really funny but they also deeply care for each other. but seriously, the seteth & flayn related memes are some of the funniest ones in the FE3H fandom!

claude, dimitri and edelgard are another platonic dynamic i love! there is just so much conflict, but especially three hopes shows that they can work together well (and they should smh 😔). if they just had some group therapy, they could be great friends!

and my third pick is claude and flayn! flayn is such a sweet and innocent character, but claude being this chaotic schemer would absolutely be a bad influence, but in the funniest way possible. he's like an older brother that teaches her curse words and seteth would hate him for that!

3 favorite moments in canon:

this is a bit hard, but i think my favorite scenes from three houses are the reunion with dimitri and the reunion with edelgard. the reunion with dimitri was very bittersweet, but mostly beautiful, while the reunion with edelgard was much more heartbreaking. her "when next we meet, one of us will breathe their last" absolutely kills me everytime. my third favorite moment in canon comes from three hopes, when dimitri spares edelgard at the end of his route and edelgard realizes that dimitri is the boy she used to know as a child. like, if only they had realized it sooner... :')

3 favorite headcanons:

headcanon number one is that claude is an older brother figure to flayn (& also to cyril, but i'll be focusing more on flayn–). like, he's absolutely a bad influence to her and he keeps telling her to do what she wants and stop listening to seteth so much, but flayn is always super worried about disobeying seteth. but over time, claude does get her to do more things she wouldn't have done otherwise, like taking her to the market and buying her sweets, teaching her slang & curses or even getting her to skip classes on occasion.

slightly related but i headcanon that seteth & rhea do not understand teenage slang. like those two are old and cringe and i mean this in the nicest way possible! they are constantly asking the other teachers what those students meant when calling them "dilf" or "mommy" and if that meant that they view them as a mother figure. meanwhile the other teachers (mostly manuela, shamir & catherine) are trying so hard to let them think that those are just compliments, while also trying to figure out which student said that, so they can give them detention... seteth and rhea also keep using slang the wrong way and nobody dares to tell them.

and my third headcanon? uhmm... poly blue lions! they are all dating each other. i don't make the rules here.

3 least favorite things about it:

this one isn't too bad, but the first part of each route (white clouds) gets a bit boring after multiple playthroughs. it would've been nice if they switched up the missions a bit, to fit the individual classes more.

another thing i dislike is that you can't train & have supports with dimitri for quite a while after the time skip. like, i get that he's busy with being depressed right now, but gameplay wise it gets really annoying when everyone surpasses him, because he can't be trained.

and another thing that isn't too bad but still a bit of a waste is the fact that there isn't a golden route. i feel like this could've worked very well, if they had jusr established that every time a new playthrough starts, byleth rewinds time with the divine pulse and she keeps all the memories of former events, so she can create a future where everyone lives. but this one is more of a nitpick than actual criticism.
