I'm maybe a little bit obsessed with the idea that Reginald made all of the siblings learn how to play an instrument

The Umbrella Academy ideas that are stuck in my head (part 2): Training
A fanfic idea where Klaus was involved in his siblings trainings cause Reginald saw he wasn't making enough progress in is own and "You must contribute somehow Number Four". But no one knew what each others individual training involved cause they hated taking about it. But one day after the not-apocalypse or whatever the conversation gets brought up and one of them mentions that Klaus was involved in the their trainings and they all are like....wait he was in mine too. And Klaus is like "yeah, I always preferred your trainings over mine" Then they ask Klaus what his training was and if anyone else was involved but he doesn't want to tell them about the mausoleum or how he later found out that Reginald used to kill him/let him die and time how long it took him to come back.
Luther (I'm not really sure how to include Klaus in training for him yet)
Diego's training included having him throw knives and things at various targets until his hands ached. Then Reginald wanting him to practice curving the projectiles so he made Klaus stand in front of a target (cause he knew Diego had a "weakness" for Klaus and also that Klaus couldn't die, not that he told anyone that) and made Diego throw knives at him. Later upgraded to Reginald throwing the knives and making Diego try to stop or repeal them. And he messed up sometimes and got so upset at hurting Klaus but Klaus is just like "Don't worry Di I trust you not to hurt me on purpose" and "It's okay Di, it's just a scratch". And Klaus just got used to the pain and build up a high pain tolerance.
Allison's training included rumoring over and over until her throat hurt. But she needed to rumor someone for Reginald to see the effects and how different wording and even languages changed the results. So Klaus got picked cause he was the best at/knew the most languages so he could understand (maybe because of the ghosts). And Allison kinda hated doing it to him but was afraid of Reginald and wanted to prove herself so she just made Klaus do a bunch of things. And Klaus got used to the idea and feeling of his body and mind not really being his own and kinda just dissociated after a while.
Five's training included practicing jumping until he felt like passing out. Then one day Reginald wanted him to practice with another person and chose Klaus. And Klaus got so dizzy and sick the first time he threw up so Reginald forbade him from eating on Five's training days cause "I will not stand you making a mess Number Four". Klaus didn't tell anyone and when asked why he doesn't eat sometimes he just said he wasn't hungry. Later Klaus thinks back on this when he is living on the streets and is already familiar with the feeling of hunger.
Ben's training didn't involve Klaus because it was too dangerous even for Reginald. But Klaus was always there when Ben was finished. And he would drag him to the bathroom and clean him up and then they would cuddle under blankets together in Ben's bed and Klaus would talk about anything and everything just to distract Ben from thinking too much about the Horror. And sometimes Ben hated when his stomach was touched cause it hurt or he was afraid that the Horror would just react without his control but other times when they would cuddle, Klaus would lay his hand or even his head again Ben's stomach and for a moment Ben knew how much Klaus trusted him and how much faith he had in him and in that moment it made Ben feel safe and in control.
Viktor obviously didn't have training like the others but he remembers when he would learn a new song and finally be able to play it through without messing up and wanting to show Reginald or his siblings but was afraid they wouldn't care. But Klaus would come into his room sometimes and listen to him play and he would sit on his bed and fall asleep. Viktor admits that at the time he thought Klaus was just bored and it hurt that he never listened to the whole song. But present Klaus says that he wasn't bored but that Viktor's room never had any ghost (unlike his other siblings who became murderers/haunted way to young) and his music was so beautiful and peaceful. That Viktor's room was safe, that Viktor was safe. And feeling safe was something Klaus rarely felt as a kid but in those moments with Viktor he was able to relax and actually sleep.
Anyway I just want a hurt/comfort fic with Klaus and his siblings.

Lost_Scarecrow commented on my fic with engaging statements about how the Mk gang and Redson’s family have more experience and overall power qhen it comes to the Umbrellas and it got me thinking if we were to flat out think about the Umbrella characters how would things pan out.
Considering the everyday op villains of the week that Mk's gang face, I totally get you. The Umbrella would look at them like they're crazy hearing all this cartoon sh*t. Just the thought of their faces makes me laugh honestly.
At first I thought the same thing you did, but the more I mulled over it and kinda skimmed though the comics, I realised that the Umbrella (some of them) would actually stand a chance if they used the powers to their full extent and with proper practice.
Some that stood out to me is that, so far, most of the Monkey gang have displayed, or rather, prefer using physical powers. (I don't know how else to put it.) Things like strength, transformations, beams, speed, etc. From their lore that I know of most do use magic that's not physical, but rarely. Ancient artifacts, lady bone demon's mind control, the scrolls, etc.
Considering their fighting styles, I immediately ruled out Luther and Diego. The Mk gang would easily be able to deflect and reflect 2x as hard. Then I came to Allison. Her power kinda functions in the same as LBD if she managed to get close enough to one of them. As we have seen previously, they are not able to deflect mind control so they wouldn't be able the deflect her rumors (we've even seen that now she may not even need to say "I heard a rumor")
Next Viktor. Truthfully, I haven't done a real deep dive on him, so yeah. From what I know now Viktor could start off with bursting some eardrums and destroying people's sense of balance. You can't exactly defend yourself from that. For people who can heal quickly like Monkey King it's not a problem, but for others...
Viktor also has powers like force-field generation and matter manipulation. He has been shown have some sort of telekinesis. If he wanted he could like blow up a liver or lung or something. Heart for a fatality and that's only some of what he can do.
Lila can copy. That goes a long way and that's all I need to say.
Klaus, firstly, is immortal. Next, Klaus can literally utilize the undead to do his biding as we saw in the beginning of season 2 when he conjoined up the dead soldiers to fight for him and catch him when he fell. He could literally make his own army to fight for him and they would never die as long as Klaus never died. That would be an issue for the Mk gang.
Lastly, Five. Five is literally called the most dangerous temporal assassin in the field and the most powerful man in time. There is a lot he hasn't done in the show with his powers (which I hope we will see later on) I feel like there is a lot he could do with his time travel, but right now he's afraid of f***ing everything up again, so he's kind of holding off on it. Speaking about his teleportation, Five is able to teleport other people and objects. He could just teleport his enemies to different parts of the world if he wanted to make time. Or in front of a bus or something... If things didn't go they way he wanted he could just go back to the start of the day or a couple years prior if he wanted to prepare to the highest degree. Five's also a quick study and smart as hell which has benefited him multiple time and I bet would benefit him in his fight with the Mk gang as well. He has genuis-level intellect and an expert tactician.
Sorry for the long breakdown. I've been meaning to spew these overflowing thoughts.

Lover? (1/2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Five Hargreeves x F!Reader
Warnings: Age gap (?), angst, reader has powers, blood, no weird shit cuz he has the body of a boy, jealous Five, reader is not a Hargreeves, everyone being chaotic.
Author’s Note: I binge watched the whole show in a day, and I still can’t get enough of it. I LOVE IT! Also, I don’t know why but I hear ‘Lover’ by Eneli whenever I think of a story about Five. Is this a song fic then? Partially.
↳ Part 2
Tumblr media
Meeting the Hargreeves was purely coincidental. My mother was against giving me to Reginald Hargreeves and, therefore, my powers were highly prohibited in the house, or anywhere really. I had enough of her abusive behavior and ran away, after that, I won a life of luxury thanks to my songs and everyday practices. Ever since I let out a sound so high I almost destroyed an entire apartment, I never went a day without talking to someone, or at least to myself, just so I don't forget that I can and must speak.
I met Allison when she was speaking on the telephone with someone, although I was much more interested in the man following her than the conversation that brought the model to tears. I gave Allison a handkerchief with my best intention and invited her to coffee, only then I told her about that man. ONLY THEN... I got to meet a Hargreeves without me knowing. Allison only recognized me for my songs, and I ended up telling her the truth, that I'm just like her.
Afterward, all just went downhill when I met the rest of the Hargreeves. Diego is an asshole, not even said hello, Klaus is the embodiment of chaos, pretty much the mood, Luther is really sweet, just speaks too much about his father, I still haven't met Vanya, and Five is... What do you call a kid that has the mind of a 58-year-old man who won't stop teasing you?
Recently I've been visiting the Hargreeves since I almost got kidnapped by a man and a woman. I got the coffee Five likes just to find out he's been missing for a few days now, disappointed, I shared the coffee with his family. "Can't believe the world ends in three days..." I said, crossing my arms as I sat next to Klaus. "That's what Five said." Luther muttered, taking a sip of his coffee. "The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it. He just left out the part about how soon." Said Klaus as he changed his posture to drink. "But can we trust him? I don't know if you've noticed, but Five's a little..." Allison whistled as she pointed to her head, Klaus and I smiled amusedly. "Our little psycho."
"Everything Five said until now seems to be true, we've even been attacked without doing anything. I don't believe those idiots were after him for fun." Luther agreed with me. "(Y/N)'s right. If he wasn't trying to stop an apocalypse, those lunatics wouldn't be chasing him."
Diego raised an eyebrow, glancing between his brother and me. "That's why they were after him?" I pursed my lips into a thin line as Luther nodded. "Yeah."
Allison gently tapped Luther's shoulder to get his attention. "What did Five even see?" The male stared at the model for a few moments with an unreadable expression. "Uh... Apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible." He looked at everyone as we urged him to go on, but he never did, on the contrary, he decided to change the subject. "Okay. So, here's the plan. Uh, we go through Dad's research--"
"Wait, what?"
"Hold on, hold on!"
"Nooo, come back here!"
"Wait a tick, wait a tick, wait a tick. What actually happened the first time around?" Klaus asked, along with Diego. "Yeah. What are you not tellin' us? Come on, big boy, spit it out."
Luther muttered something before drinking his coffee. "What did you say?" I questioned him. Luther coughed and exclaimed out quite calmly, more than I expected. "I said, uh, we died." The silence is so annoyingly terrifying. I choked on my saliva as Klaus screamed, an umbrella fell and opened, thus breaking the silence. "You... You have to be kidding me. How do we die? I was there too?" I asked with genuine confusion. "Yes, you were. Why do you think Five recognized you as soon as he saw you?" I blinked many times and let my back touch the soft couch, a hand resting on my face as Klaus began speaking. "Destiny is a bitch."
"For real." I started, getting up from the couch. "What do we do then? We can't wait for Five to magically appear."
"She's right, we can't wait for him forever." As surprising as it is, Diego agreed with me on something, wow. His brothers and sister stared at him with widened eyes. "What?" Questioned Diego. "Nothing, we just expected that you would keep being an asshole to me."  I replied, receiving an annoying look from Diego. "Sure, keep thinking that after we saved each other's asses." I smiled brightly and we reunited at the bar to talk about our huge ass problem. "No one is going to get out until we figure this out." I said. "Is it just us?" Allison questioned Luther.
"It's everybody."
"In the house?"
"The whole planet?
"No, outside the house. Everyone died."
"Hey." We turned our attention to a girl wearing baggy clothes and a guy beside her, a guy that rubbed me the wrong way. "What's going on?"
"Who's that...?" I whispered to Diego, to which his mood changes a lot, even turning away. "Vanya." I replied with a small 'oh' and shut my mouth.
"It's a family matter." Allison informed as she, just like everyone else, looked very uncomfortable. Vanya snickered sarcastically as she glanced at me. "A family matter. So you couldn't bother to include me, but you let a stranger know everything about us." I slowly let myself kneel out of everyone's sight, but my wish was denied by Diego, who told me to stand and not be a coward. "No, it's not like that. She is-- Wait. I'll fill you in later when we're alone." Allison was interrupted by Vanya. "Please, please, don't bother. And I won't either."
"Vanya, that's not fair." The model's tone was changing to a sorrowful one. "Fair? There's nothing fair about being your sister. I have been left out of everything for as long as I can remember, and I used to think it was Dad's fault, but he's dead. So it turns out you're the assholes." Vanya left the room along with who I assumed is her boyfriend, leaving us to glance between ourselves awkwardly. "I'm gonna go find Vanya and explain." The model was about to leave but was stopped by Luther. "No, wait, there isn't time. We need to figure out what causes the apocalypse."
"How do we figure out something like that? Could be a natural disaster, a nuclear war, asteroids, the Moon, or a planet crashing against Earth." I informed, Klaus stared at me as he drank the last bit of his coffee. "You really know how to give me the hibbie jibbies." He muttered to me, to which I apologized. "I'm thinking this is about the Moon. Dad must have sent me up there for a reason, and I was giving him daily updates on the conditions, I sent field samples." I grinned a little when Klaus and Diego boredly sighed at Luther's mission again. "The first thing we need to do is find his research."
"Hold on. Hold the phone. We all died fighting this thing the first time around. Remember?" Says Klaus, and Diego is agreeing with everyone today, amazing. "Klaus, shockingly, has a point. What gives us a win this time?"
A light blinds us for a second and we stepped back as Five appear from nowhere with a suitcase. "You guys, am I still high, or do you see him, too?" Klaus muttered, and I went to help Five along with Allison and Luther. "Five, are you alright?" I asked.
"Where have you been?"
"Who did this?"
"Irrelevant." Five took the coffee from Allison and started drinking it until he needed to breathe. We only stared at him with averted eyes as he turned to us. "So, the apocalypse is in three days. The only chance we have to save our world is, well, us."
"The Umbrella Academy." Luther guessed, and I nodded. "And a plus with powers." I crossed my arms and let Five continue. "Yeah, but with me, obviously. So if y'all don't get your sideshow acts together and get over yourselves, we're screwed. Who cares if dad messed us up? Are we gonna let that define us? No. And to give us a fighting chance to see next week, I've come back with a lead." He showed us a paper and gave it to us. I know who's responsible for the apocalypse. This is who we have to stop."
We read the name on the paper with bewildered expressions. "Harold Jenkins?"
"Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?"
Time later, I got out of the building without the siblings noticing as they went on about that Harold Jenkins. I'm very skeptical about all of this, I mean, of course I believe Five but I'm not sure how I can help against the end of the world. Besides, Luther said we were together when we died, including me, so we must be doing something wrong even if Five is back before the disaster happened. I have better things to do and they won't need my help, they are the Hargreeves. "Where the hell are you going??" I jumped a little and turned around to find Five following me. I gawked at seeing him. Did he teleport here? "Five, please don't chase after me. I'm warning you."
"It'll probably be the last if we don't stop doomsday. You're running away, and I want to know why." Five is annoying, and I know that deep down he cares, however, most of the time I have to exhale deeply to stop myself from punching him. And, for fuck's sake, he just met me a few days ago, I want him to stop being so damn insufferable when it comes to me. "Luther told me I was there too. I'm starting to think that we're doing something wrong, maybe it's because we're together at the exact time we die. I'm sorry, Five. But even if I am one of you, that doesn't mean I can be useful." I turned and began walking away, deciding to ignore Five. "(Y/N)! Hey, don't ignore me--!"
Finally, his voice faltered.
// Timeskip //
At night, and just coming back from my worst date ever, I heard the bell ringing as someone cried from the other side. "(Y/N), please open the door!!" I widened my eyes and opened the door quickly, letting Allison and Diego carry an injured Five to my couch. "Jesus, what happened?!" I shouted, Allison was panicking by now. "He was shot and didn't say anything! He told us you know first aid!" I cursed under my breath and went for the kit. I bit my tongue when I wanted to ask why they didn't go back to the academy, maybe they were closer to my house anyway.
After taking the bullet out and closing the wound, I bandaged it and put a blanket over him. I stared at Five for a moment. He's so irresponsible, instead of going to a hospital or his mother, he comes to my house and expects me to take care of him. Well... He's winning. "Did Five come here before?" Diego asked, and I nodded. "He kept his 'list of events' very private, save for the occasional opinion he wanted from me sometimes. Five's annoying, yes, but I can tell he worries."
"Klaus is right. In a way, you two look like... I don't know-- Like you understand each other more than you think." I smiled a little at what Allison said, but it quickly disappeared. "Perhaps... I can't help but laugh at the thought that we met while I was dead. Since Five saw me it's like he can't leave me alone for a hot minute, he already has Dolores."
"Dolores' a manequin, you are real." I glanced at Allison and Diego slowly. The model is trying not to smile while the latter raised his eyebrows way too high for my taste. "Nooo... Nooo, please not you too. I had enough with Klaus." I didn't let Allison continue as I stood from the couch and told Diego to carry Five to the guest room. "Now, you two go and do whatever you have to do. I will have to heal Five with my song."
"You can heal with your voice? How many things can you do??" I looked at Diego and smiled. "The music you hear makes you feel whatever it wants to, the sound making you feel a sensation in your chest. I can do the same thing, with no music, only words... Depending on my emotions, I can make you feel relaxed, happy, angry, sad... Completely knock you out, destroy an entire building, illusions..." I furrowed my eyebrows and sighed softly, directing my eyes back to Allison and Diego, who were staring at me in concern. "I've been through hardships, just like you." I muttered sweetly.
With a hug from Allison and a nod from Diego, they went on their merry way and left me with an unconscious Five.
I put his clothes to wash, sat on the bed, and made sure he wasn't cold, I couldn't help but stare at his wound as I did so. I don't know why I'm so nervous to sing to him, he did say I'm not bad... It's obvious I took it as a compliment for my poor, sensitive heart.
"Lover
And I think of my lover
How we held on each other
How there's no other one."
I shook my head and did my best to calm my heart, I grabbed his hand and rubbed it softly with my thumb. It's a song I've made out of my heart, of my everyday happenings. This hasn't happened for a long time.
"I'm at the, I'm at the coffee shop
A stranger comes walking and he's smoking hot
We bump in each other, oh my God
He asks if I'm okay, I say I'm not
My heart went, ra-ta-ta-ta
My mind said, 'nah-nah-nah'
He's such a player
Do I want him in my life?"
Five's wound is healing, I can feel it, but he'll still need to rest, which I doubt he'll ever do. I smile just by thinking about it, I have to ask his siblings to take care of him, even if Five is the older one.
"Lover
And I think of my lover
How we held on each other
How there's no other one,
He was in this coffee shop
With nobody by his side
How did we, how did we
Oh, how did we get in the same spot?
Though I'm just a stranger walking by
I can feel there's something with this guy
Oh, do I know him from another life?"
I close my eyes as his consciousness comes back slowly, and I feel much calmer than before. Knowing that Five is okay, not putting himself at risk...
"Lover
And I think of my lover
How we held on each other
How there's no other one,
His number on a cigarette
I said, 'I don't smoke, but I'll take it'
It's a one-way ticket, I can feel it
Tick tock, tick tock
I can't believe I did this
He's getting closer to me
And then I hear him say
'Will you be my... Lover?'"
The world stops, and I suddenly feel agitated at what I just did. This is meant to be a song to heal and the next song to my audience. What am I thinking?
I opened my eyes and averted them slightly, Five is awake and staring at me with a smile, small but genuine. I let go of his hand and check if he has a fever, to which he responds with a groan. "You always have to treat me like a kid."
"You can be 58 all you want, but with your body, many procedures will be different. I hope you know that." Five doesn't say anything, and we stay in silence for a while. We see the rain falling outside the window, and my mind goes empty. "Why didn't you say anything? And why did you come here? I believe Grace could've done a better job."
"But she wouldn't have healed me as fast as you. It's a fact." I want to punch him so hard right now, but I restrain myself. "I believe your date went as bad as I thought it would." I let out a long sigh and stared at Five again, his cheeky smile adorning his face. "How do you--??" I started, but he interrupted me. "The only times I don't see you pathetically joyful is when you either don't have a song or when someone insults you. What did he do?"
I furrowed my brows and shook my head. "Stop worrying about me when you don't know shit, Five." I kissed his forehead as his eyes widened in surprise, it's like he forgot how to speak. "Now, YOU wait here as I bring you something to eat." I went to the kitchen and took out a salad from the fridge, when I turned, Five was sitting on a chair and staring at me. "Five, what the fuck! I told you to stay in bed! You have to stop scaring me, it's not funny anymore!"
"Let me just get this straight, siren." He ignored me completely and went on as he numbered what my problems are. And yeah, that's pretty much my nickname. "I saved you from getting kidnapped by the Commission, you know that you're going to die in an apocalypse, but you don't want anything to do with it, and instead you go on a date with a guy you've never met before. I didn't take you for an idiot!"
"Keep insulting me and see how much less I'll care. I can be an idiot all you want, but I know you won't need my help so I'm trying to have a normal life without anyone bothering me. So please, for the mother of all gods, eat the damn salad and go back to bed." I sound like a mother and I couldn't help but smile at that, receiving one from Five as well. "I'll eat if you come with me." He said.
"You are... Such a pain... In the ass..." I muttered slowly, trying my best not to laugh. Five began eating the food and I just watched as he did so, I didn't realize he had finished until he spoke.
"How did you come by that song?" Asked Five as I took the plate and left it in the dishwasher. I couldn't formulate words the right words, as I don't even know how or why I thought of something like that. It's funny for me because it starts and ends with coffee. I wonder... "I... I don't know... I haven't had anyone in my life as special as that someone in my song. Probably the excitement of going on a date after so long." I glanced back at Five, finding him raising an eyebrow as I sat next to him with two cups of coffee. "He knew who I was since the beginning, and instead of keeping it private, he began asking people if they wanted a photo with me. I had to pay and get out of there, didn't want to use my voice to sleep them..." I sighed softly and let my head rest on my arms. "Yeah, pretty much a shitty day... Thank you."
Five is visibly confused by this as he drank his coffee. "For what?"
"I know this is cliche, but thank you for worrying for me. Even if sometimes you can be annoying." I muttered the last part but it was loud enough for him to hear. "Don't go out with strangers and my 'annoying habits' will vanish." He stated, leaving the cup aside. "Jealous much, number five? I can't be closed in my house forever, just waiting for you to come back with a wound."
"Why do you think I want you to come with me, woman?" There was a strange silence in the kitchen, maybe a little uncomfortable for me until I decided to speak with a fast heartbeat. "So I don't die. That's it." Five clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes slightly, but he never refused to look at me like he is doing now. "You don't understand what's going on." He said all of sudden, leaving me baffled.
"I don't think I want to." My tone was noticeably nervous. I don't want to accept this, I refuse to accept that Klaus, Allison and Diego are right because it's weird. Five is an adult sure, but... "This is as weird as it is, let's just... Not."
Five teleported away just as I said that, leaving me alone in the kitchen with a full cup of coffee, and a tear falling down my cheek.

Requests are open. Love you ❤️
Couple: Five Hargreeves/Fem! Reader.
Warnings: Nothing, just fluff.
— — — — —
The superhero life was a mess. Behind all the glamor of HQ’s and the romanticization of the media, there were only people trying to cope with their own lives when everything that was expected of them was nothing short of extraordinary. All the Hargreeves brothers knew this. And they carried the weight of the whole world on their backs. It was like trying to breathe with a rock pressed against your chest, purging all hope of relief.
They would never have a normal life, with normal parents or friends. They would always be chained to that sentence that came with their powers. Sometimes, late at night, some of the Hargreeves wondered how much smoother life would have been had they not been born extraordinary.
Five stopped imagining fantasies that would never come true from an early age. He viewed situations with objectivity, coolness and calculus. But life at the Hargreeves mansion was not easy and the only way for him to deal with the traumas and pressures was to push them under the rug. Then Five started to scoff when the brothers talked about having a normal life.
Who did they want to think about it? They would always be circus attractions. They would never have a normal life. So it was better to get over it, because you can't miss what you never had, and it was stupid want to live a false normal life. They would never be normal, it was the curse of the Hargreeves, and Five accepted that.
But you revoked all of his sentences. You were absolutely normal. Typical life, family, friends and routine. And when you came into the life of the Hargreeves and brought the breath of relief that everyone needed, Five felt that rock be lifted from his chest whenever you were close.
And then he knew normalcy. Five tasted the sweet taste that was enjoying a ray of sunshine, a summer breeze, a sunset, all the normal details that you inserted into his life and that now ... now he had something to miss.
During the months, your presence, for Five, was a sigh of relief amid all the claustrophobic, and he felt a certain envy when he saw how Klaus had a way with dealing with people. How he and Alisson always knew what to say, how to act, and how to captivate you to the point where you want to spend more time with them.
It was hell for Five. because you presence calmed all his nerves, your energy soothed the restless air and removed the rock that prevented him from breathing. Five realized how much he liked fresh air. And he didn't know how to make you want to be close to him too. He felt at peace when you were close. And it was an overwhelming discovery.
“Here it is.” You said, handing Five a mug of coffee, without him even asking.
That was one more thing that made you wonderful in his eyes. You two never had a long conversation, but you knew enough, and whenever you were in the kitchen, helping the Hargreeves for breakfast, you knew exactly what to give him.
Okay, to be fair, you knew exactly what to deliver to everyone. For Klaus, passion fruit juice and hangover aspirin, big and fat pancakes for Luther and Diego, Waffles for girls and strong black coffee for him. It wasn't like Five thought you were treating him in a special way.
But... whenever you gave him coffee and your midday sun smile, that was the best part of the day. And he wished, deep down in his soul, that it was special.
He nodded his head. And he drank the coffee knowing that the taste would be nothing short of excellent. Five concluded that you had a habit of turning everything you touched into gold.
“Are you going to see training today to wait for us?” Alisson asked you.
It was Friday, and Alisson, Klaus, Vayna and you had agreed to go shopping after them training. It was not new you and them to go out together, but it was new for you to watch their training. It was nothing formal, just routine, so it was easier to wait for them finishe than you to leave and return.
“If it's okay with you guys.”
The brothers agreed and Five thought it best not to show any reaction. He told himself it was because it didn't matter whether you saw a workout or not, but, deep in his soul, Five knew it was for fear that if you focused your attention on him, you would end up listening to him fast heartbeat.
But if he knew that everything would start in that training, he would have thought twice about going.
You were sitting on one of the mats in the garden, sometimes reading something on your phone while the brothers practiced the training. It should have been routine for them, as usual, but they all had difficult missions last night and felt exhausted to do their best.
Five came to know his own limits, he knew when his body was entering the last reserves and that it would no longer hold its powers. It was like a big battery that he needed to recharge to keep working. He felt the sting in his muscles, a warning that Five came to understand that signaled that his powers were going to fail.
Five was already orchestrating strategies to dodge Diego's knives when, already knowing that it wouldn't work, he tried to teleport. But the blue flash swallowed him up and when he took him behind his brother, and Five felt his muscles revitalized, the shock left him stunned.
It had never happened. But it hasn't happened again in weeks too.
Five spent days trying to understand how his powers took a turn and then retracted the same stake when he trained again. The bite always hit him in the muscles and then his powers left him in the hand. Five could no longer find the invigorating sensation that followed the hooks.
The second time his powers got stronger was when Luther was pissing him off. They had arrived from an exhausting and difficult mission, and that time you asked them to come to your apartment for dinner. Because you knew that the negativity of the mansion would not do well for a situation that had already brought out the best in the Hargreeves. Always the good person. You knew how to alleviate a situation with the smallest of gestures, and it made you look wonderful again in the eyes of Five.
After dinner, Luther was teasing Five, throwing cushions at him across the room, while everyone talked and rested in the living room. You made them feel like it was just a normal end of day. That they were just tired after work, traffic, and not because they were damn superheroes who fought a nuclear leak and terrorists. It seemed to Five that everything was easy and charming with you.
Then, when Luther threw another pillow at him, and Five felt the sting in his muscles, but tried to teleport to strike back anyway, the invigorating air ran through his muscles and the blue flash swallowed him.
Once again, Five was surprised. And suddenly, he forgot why he teleported.
His mind hummed like a propeller, trying to understand what the hell was going on. And that's when his eyes were drawn to you, like magnets.
The world was seemed to run out of breath, the atmosphere slowed and he followed every move you made until your eyes met his. It was instantaneous. A hot desert wind swept Five from head to toe, and brought the hot, overwhelming thought “It's her.” You were doing it. You were the one who left him invigorated. You removed the rock from his chest and he could breathe. His powers were reacting to you, and the realization it that stunned Five.
You smiled for him and went back to talking to Vayna, oblivious to the overwhelming discoveries that flooded Five.
The third time your presence showed that his theory was right was when you two were alone. It was Tuesday night. You were making cocktails with Klaus and laughing when he gave his verdict:
"I am happy that you are beautiful and intelligent enough to know that you must think about several other professions, because you would definitely make a terrible bartender." Klaus put aside a drink you made after making a face.
You laughed, throwing an olive at him.
“Why beauty would help me?”
“Prostitution, perhaps.”
“KLAUS!” You looked at him with amused indignation and you two laughed out loud.
“I'm going to get something good. Don't get out of here.” He stood up, taking his coat.
“Be careful!”
“I always do, baby.” He shouted at the door, leaving.
You laughed at nothing, cleaning up the mess you had made on the counter, throwing the used lemons in the trash.
That was when Five appeared. The mission mask on his face, the uniform slightly scorched.
“Hey.” You smiled as soon as you saw him, your heart beating faster. “All right?” You pointed to his clothes.
“Fire” Five say, sitting on the stools at the counter you were on and opening the bottle of vodka.
You gave him a glass, and Five thanked him silently while filling a shot and turning it all over at once. You couldn't get your attention off him. His hair was black as the background of the galaxy, his lips were red with drink, the mask adorned his eyes. God, he was beautiful and you felt that you could no longer reason consistently.
This always happened when Five was involved. He is a god of Olympus who had the power to destabilize you with just one look. Now, however, the mask delivered that he could swing you just in the presence.
In fact... that mask just made everything more mysterious and attractive. You felt something humming inside you, like a harp string that connects your heart to your belly.
“What?” Five's voice brought you out of the trance, revealing that you were looking at him for too long.
“N-nothing” You tried not to blush.
You turning around to put away the other bottles that Klaus and you had removed. But the floor was damp from the melted ice cubes you both dropped. And you was so stunned that you slipped.
As soon as the world spun and the wind hit your face, you were prepared to fall to the ground when a blue flash protected you and firm arms held you.
The breath drained, the callus increased, and Five was absolutely sure that it was you who made him stronger. You were the one who reinvigorated his powers because when he came out of that fire, the sting in his muscles hit him hard, and he knew he hadn't been able to use his powers anymore.
But when you looked up at him, and Five felt your warm skin on his hands, he knew he couldn't stay away from you anymore. He thought about doing something, his body was screaming for you, but he didn't have a chance. Your fingers touched the corner of his mask, gently contouring the left edge.
“You're Gorgeous...” Your whispered was a breath, but Five could hear.
Then he leaned over and pressed his lips to yours, because he felt he couldn't live any longer if he didn't. And when you kissed him back, his whole battery was recharged and that rock that was choking him was destroyed in millions of pieces.
As soon as you were apart enough to breathe, your fingers removed his mask and curled your fingers in his black hair. And this time, it was you who brought your lips together in the most passionate kiss.

Here, I wrote a fluffy fic about our favorite kiddos ruining Veginald’s holiday party.
REGINALD THROWS A CHRISTMAS PARTY: IT GOES AS EXPECTED
"Typical," Five spat as he listened to Grace's announcement about the Christmas party. "Dad even knows how to take the fun out of holidays. I'm sure this soiree will be full of big shot politicians or whoever he's trying to schmooze these days."
He turned and started pacing around the room, hands pulling at his hair. "And what do we get to do? We get to perform tricks, like the trained monkeys that we are."
"Hey!" Luther responded. "Five, that's enough. Remember Dad's lecture? About how we need to show good manners at all times? This could be an opportunity for the Umbrella Academy."
Five scoffed and turned away. He was sick of Number One's blind obedience and repetition of Dad's rhetoric.
Apparently, he wasn't the only one. "Opportunity, my ass," muttered Diego. "He just wants to humiliate us."
"Diego! Language." Grace interjected. Once delivering the announcement she had stood calmly, allowing the children the opportunity to speak, but foul language always triggered her circuits.
"You boys are just spoilsports," Allison decried even as her eyes lit up with excitement. "This is going to be so much fun!"
"Really?" Viktor asked with awe. "Are you going to sing a solo, Allison? Gosh, I would be scared to sing in front of so many people."
In reality, Viktor was just praying that he wouldn't be excluded from this event. It's not like performing at a Christmas party required one to be special, right?
"Have you picked out a song, Allison?" Grace asked.
Allison took a breath, and set a smile on her face in contrast to her scowling brothers. "I'm going to sing…'All I Want for Christmas is -" and she pointed at Luther as she belted out the words "Youuuuuuuu'."
Luther turned a shade of crimson and looked away as the other children rolled their eyes simultaneously.
Grace simply nodded. "That sounds lovely, dear." She turned to the cluster of boys slumped on the couch. "Klaus, Ben, do you know what you want to do?" Grace asked. Klaus nodded his head vigorously while Ben shook his side to side fearfully. "Remember children, we need to tell your father tomorrow what you will be performing, so if you don't have a song you want to sing, I suggest you use the rest of this library research period to find one."
"This is stupid," said Diego, crossing his arms across his chest and leaning back against the couch cushions.
"We could sing a song together," Luther suggested, and the others immediately scowled. "As a team. How about the '12 Days of Christmas'?"
A collective groan chased its way around the room.
"Luther, if you think I'm singing five golden rings, you've got another thing coming" Five hissed. He knew he had hit the mark when he saw Luther scowl, his face turning even redder.
Before he could reply, Five continued. "Besides, I'm not singing, with you or anybody else. Viktor can play the violin and I'll accompany him on the piano."
Viktor looked over at Five, her eyes wide and hopeful. "Really? You - you mean that?"
"Sure," Five shrugged. "Why not. It's the best shitty option. Pick out what you want - I don't really care. Just find me the sheet music today so I'll have enough time to practice." With that, sat down in one of the library's big oak chairs, pulled the notebook he always carried out of his pocket, and began ignoring his siblings.
"Oh!" Viktor exclaimed. "Oh, thank you, Five! I’ll go pick something right now. Mom?" he turned to Grace.  "Do we have sheet music in the library?"
Grace nodded.  "Yes dear, I believe we do. Does anyone else want to look at sheet music?"
"I don't need sheet music, I know the words already," Allison said. "And I don't want Five to accompany me, anyway."
"Good, cuz i didn't offer," Five muttered, not looking up.
"I'll accompany you, dear" said Grace. "What did you say you wanted to sing? All I Want for Christmas? Is that by Irving Berlin? He's your father's favorite, you know."
"No, it's by Mariah Carey!" Klaus rolled his eyes and swayed his hips, mimicking Allison's earlier movements lewdly. "All want for Christmas is yooooouuuuu!" Luther's ears turned an additional shade of red.
“Ok, come on, we have to pick something to sing,” Luther says through gritted teeth. “How about ‘White Christmas’?” Diego and Ben both shook their heads vehemently. Now that they knew it was Dad’s favorite, anything by Irving Berlin was off limits.
“Hey we should do something fun. Like, 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer’?” Klaus looked around hopefully, but saw no takers. “Ok, what about ‘Frosty the Snowman’?”
“Klaus, we’re almost eleven. Not six. Let’s quit it with the kids songs.”
Klaus huffed and scowled at his brother. “Well everybody likes ‘Jingle Bells’,” he muttered.
Diego looked up at that, an idea forming in his brain on how to make the best of a bad situation. “Hey! I want to do ‘Jingle Bells’. Ben, you in?"
"Ugh, fine I guess."
"Good. You can sing and I'll do the bells," Diego smirked.
"Damn it, that's not fair Diego!" Ben protested.
"This whole situation is not fair, Ben," Diego said with a shrug. It’s either that or you sing with these idiots." He gestured over to Numbers One and Four.
"Alright, great, ‘Jingle Bells’ it is.” Luther looks around at his team. “That just leaves me and...Klaus?”
Klaus’s eyes lit up and he gave Luther a wicked smile. "Hey, I know what we can do. How about we show off those new dance moves Mom taught us?" He stood up and mimicked waltzing around the room holding an invisible partner.
"I’m not dancing with you, Klaus." It was Luther’s turn to roll his eyes.
"Whyyyyy noooot" Klaus whined, pouting at Luther as he continued twirling.
"What about...Little Drummer Boy?"
"Oh, fucking Christ, no!" Klaus yelled.
"Klaus! Language!" Grace’s smile transformed into the admonishment frown that Klaus was all too familiar with.
"Sorry, Mom," Klaus grumbled. "But Luther has the...stupidest ideas."
"How about -” Luther searched his brain for an idea. “-Silent Night’?"
Klaus rolled his eyes. "Oh, fine. I don’t even care anymore."
“Now that that’s decided, maybe we can get back to ‘Silent Reading Time’” Five muttered again from his chair.
The show went off....well no one would say without a hitch. But it went off just the same.
Allison insisted on going first (of course) and while her exuberance embraced the spirit of the holidays, her propensity to barely miss the high notes while making up for the lacking pitch with excessive volume was more than enough to put a small crease between Reginald’s eyes.
Sir Hargreeves seemed to relax slightly (as much as relax was a verb that could be used to describe the uptight host) as Five and Vanya went next, playing a passable rendition of ‘Greensleeves’. Reginald was pleased to see that Number Five managed to smile and look relatively charming (if one didn't look too closely at the sarcasm buried beneath the smile). He didn’t notice that Vanya was as red as a beet because he didn’t look at Number Seven at all.
Numbers Two and Six (an odd pairing, thought Reginald absently) entered the stage area next. As Grace began playing the lively tune, Diego produced a set of sleighbells and began ringing them with forced enthusiasm. While his mouth moved at the appropriate times, it became quickly apparent that the only vocal sound was coming from Ben, a sound which grew quieter and quieter until it disappeared completely by the third verse, leaving Grace’s piano notes and Diego’s bell ringing to finish out the song.
Sir Reginald’s frown had returned.
As his guests clapped coolly and politely, he was glad to see the least disappointing child stepped out in front of the piano. Number One’s uniform was crisp, his hair was neat, and he stood with correct posture. Sir Reginald breathed an inaudible sigh of relief.
“Where is Klaus?” Luther whispered out of the corner of his mouth at Diego and Ben as he passed, but they only shrugged.
Well, the show must go on. Luther pasted on his best smile, and nodded to Grace solemnly. And, as rehearsed, he opened his mouth and took a breath just as the instrumental bars of the music led towards the start of the first verse. Luther had practiced those words with Grace relentlessly over the last week, until he could utter them in his sleep. He knew the words backwards and forwards, and even considered singing in the original German (which he spoke fluently).
Alas, Luther never got to utter a single syllable. Just as he opened his mouth, he saw a movement out of the corner of his eye.  Klaus stumbled into the ballroom, his disheveled uniform covered by a rich velvet cape that bore a surprising resemblance to a curtain from one of the third floor guest rooms. There was a crown of tinsel jammed on his head crookedly, and several long garlands wrapped around his shoulders and torso.
Luther blew his cue. And the next one. And the one after that, as Grace circled back smoothly for the third time. He was frozen in place in horror at the sight before him.
Klaus appeared to be oblivious to the crowd, oblivious to the beat, but not quite oblivious to Luther as he shot his brother a dastardly wink as he spun past. Half a waltz, half ballet, and half a herb-induced trance, Klaus stumbled, bowed, and spun around for a good fifteen seconds before he finally crashed into one of the Christmas trees, causing it to topple over onto the piano with a tremendous crash.
That snapped Luther out of his trance. A quick look at their father showed barely restrained hostility. Luther was sure that it was only the presence of the many guests, some of which were chuckling politely, others who found a sudden interest in the buffet table, keeping Reginald's temper at bay.
Luther knew he was expected to fix this situation, so he did the only thing he could think of: he walked over to his brother, extracted the flailing mess of limbs from the tree's branches, slung him over his shoulder, and walked as quickly as decorum would allow out of the room.
“And to alllllll, a good night!” Klaus cried out, his voice carrying over the sound of the piano and echoing in the high ceilings of the Academy ballroom.
The other children scrambled to make their exits, trying to be invisible to their father's enraged stare. Ever unflappable, Grace played on, the piano music soothing over the sounds of the disaster children's shoes shuffling over the polished floors.
The children were each made to do seven days of dishes as a punishment.
Luther and Diego both handled their tasks with the usual competitive stoicism of Numbers One and Two.
Allison and Ben grumbled incessantly during their punishment days about how it was all just so unfair.
Viktor offered to do Five’s share. He felt bad, knowing that Five didn’t do anything to deserve the punishment.
“Oh, no way.” Five responded with an absent wave. When Viktor made to protest, he continued. “Klaus is going to do them, aren’t you?”
Klaus gave a wide grin.“Oh sure, fine, whatever. It was totally worth it. I mean did you guys see Dad's face?  It was as red as Luther’s."
Unsurprisingly, the children were never again invited to Reginald’s annual holiday party.
