So Kuzan is Robin's dad already, pretty much.

So Luffy gets dropped on a nowhere Island except a traitor in the revolutionary army rats him out as Dragon's son. The marines, of course, freak out and call a buster call for the whole island. Who do they send? Kuzan.

Kuzan finds Luffy, an actual 1 year old baby child, and he can't just send Luffy on a boat because he's got mushy legs.

The reason they had the buster call tho? They don't know how old Dragon's son is supposed to be, just that he was on the island and he was male.

So Kuzan is like 'shit I can't just leave this kid to fend for himself' so he takes him, then tracks down Robin, who's 11 now, and is like 'hey so I can adopt u but u need to get really cool with a lot of shit really fast.'

Robin's immediately like 'yes' because she's been a street urchin for three years now and she's sick and tired of not being a kid. Kuzan shows Luffy and is like 'you're my niece, this is your brother, your mother was my sister and she died after traveling to [Luffy's island]. You're both torn up about it, I adopted you both. Roll with it.' and Robin's like 'This baby smiled at me once I will kill and die for him' and Kuzan's like 'I'll see if being in the military covers therapy okay? I don't even know if I have dental, settle down.'

So he manages to convince everyone because,,,

Robin: Kuzan-san I'm Egyptian, Luffy's Brazilian and you're black, are you sure they'll believe we're related?

Kuzan: You underestimate how racist the government is

So Luffy grows up with the best big sister ever, and they become pirates because if Kuzan teaches his kids one thing it's : 'for the love of God don't join the military'
