#Luana d'Orazio  accidents at work  La Canzone di Marinella  De André
Link
No detail in Italian is necessary, I think, about Luana D’Orazio. This beautiful girl (22) died on May 3 in the factory where she worked near Prato, Italy, a district well known for its intensive, ruthless and dangerous (when unprotected) textile industry.
Luana was mangled by a blind, pitiless machine and although her death is the umpteenth accident at work, it will be hard to know the truth. She made me think of the delicate song La Storia di Marinella, by Fabrizio de André, in what was sweetly similar and it what is desperately different, like reality is different from a fairy tale, which is, however, dedicated to her.
MUSIC CAN DO MAGIC, SO STEP INTO THE SONG, GIRL:
Di Luana non sapremo la storia vera
Sappiamo solo
che un amore aveva,
il piccolo figlio,
ma che sola era
quando scivolò, non nel fiume, e però era
fuori già crudelmente
primavera.
