Opinion time
honestly, I like the hero of time as much as the next person- OOT is one of my favorite games in the whole entire series and I love the characterization Jo-Jo gave him, but that doesn’t mean I can’t admit he’s an extremely flawed character
and I mean this in a good way, Jo-Jo wrote a character you can know did bad things and still like him /pos
but I didn’t like how, in the timeline parts, wind does confront and ask him “why did you leave?” And times only response is, in my own words
”I left it behind cuz I felt like it LMAO”
..????? yes he took percussions to make sure ganon “didn’t come back” (which.. he did, time knew the seal would break eventually. ganon literally screams out about how much he hates him and is coming for his descendants)
leaving an entire world behind to rot is just written off as “shit happens” and you can’t say “well time didn’t know what he was doing” because, at some point, yes he FIGURES OUT his actions have consequences /nm
Imagine being rulie, your entire world is a wasteland and you ask the guy who CAUSED its downfall “why does my land suck so much” he just goes “oops my bad”
in the child timeline he just fucks off, in the downfall timeline he dies, comes back, and says forget everybody else, he only really started giving half-a-shit in the adult timeline with twilight. We can see this with his blatant favoritism over him.
anyways this was me screaming at the clouds about how time isnt a cookie cutter hero, he’s flawed and he’s made mistakes and honestly? It makes his character better and more enjoyable. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk (feel free to give ur opinion on the matter)
okay sorry for any spelling mistakes or oddly autocorrected words, this was kinda a lot longer than i thought it would be alkjslkjs 😭
Okay this is an incredibly interesting perspective and I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone else with this exact take on Time. I have a much different view of his character and his actions, though it was nice to read yours! /gen
First off, I completely agree that Time is a incredibly flawed person, and that’s part of why I love his character so much. He is not perfect, he is not the best leader, he makes mistakes. I genuinely think that the only reason he’s leader of this group and why the others tolerate him being the unofficial official leader is because even they can acknowledge that Time is just the best person for that role. He is not a perfect leader, he is not and I don’t know if he’ll ever truly reach that, but looking at the other options, he really was the best for the role. (Warriors would’ve been incapable of fully separating the others from the military in his mind, Twilight wouldn’t have been able to go off as Wolfie without causing mistrust or doubt towards him in the beginning, and Legend simply didn’t WANT that. The only other person who possibly could’ve lead the group would be Sky, and while I do think that could work, Time has way more experience)
Time has made a lot of mistakes, in his games, in the comic, he’s not flawless. I think in the comic (LU) we most commonly see this through how he’ll say things that come across as incredibly flat, snappy, or a bit harsher than what was really necessary for the situation. And this is just something it seems like he’s always been like, at least with how Jojo characterizes him, because in that one sketch with him and Malon when they were younger, he said something that did very much come off as snappy/rude, and he immediately realized how what he said sounded and tried to make an attempt to apologize. In the most recent update, we see how his stress and emotions made him much snappier and harsh towards the others than he really needed to be. I’d even argue in some moments, when he’s talking about his past and we see parts of his past, he’s a BIT arrogant. He certainly isn’t that way anymore, or at least he’s not as arrogant, but we see some moments where he comes off ass a little full of himself, the one I remember the clearest is the expression on his face when he got into Gerudo Town and a bit how he was talking about it. He’s also able to admit his flaws and that he was too distracted and let that get in the way of him helping the others while Twilight was hurt
Where I disagree with you (AND THIS IS ALL MY OPINION AND MY INTERPRETATION) is on Time’s thoughts surrounding the whole timeline thing. I do not think he had ANY idea that he was creating a whole other timeline, nor do I think he really even had a choice. He was sent back in time in an attempt to stop Ganon from destroying everything, and I believe he’s spent all the years since thinking all he did was go back in time. I don’t think he ever even considered the fact that Wind’s timeline continued on without him there (screenshots taken from Timeline Talk 1, art credit to @/linkeduniverse)
He DIDN’T know what he was doing. He was like, 9-10 in the body of (roughly) a 17 year old, he was doing whatever he was told by Zelda, Rauru and the sages, the goddesses, whoever. And I don’t think ANYONE realized the consequences of sending him back in time like that. I genuinely think that this right here is where he realizes not only that the timelines split, but the timelines split because of HIS adventure/journey. And when faced with the idea that every time he used his ocarina he abandoned hyrule (kingdom) he seems horrified (also from Timeline Talk 1):
I also don’t think the others have any idea at all that Hyrule and Legend are on a separate timeline from everyone else. I think everyone who comes after Time on ANY timeline has heard of him, but Legend and Hyrule haven’t had the chance really to talk about their timeline with Time, at least not really like how Wind did. And even if they had, again, Time DIED in their timeline, which could not possibly in any way have been his fault 😭
So yeah, he did leave Wind’s timeline (which is the adult timeline), but he genuinely had no idea that it got ABANDONED. I think the way he was looking at is was like erasing and starting anew and not just writing over what was already written and leaving that there (if that makes sense). And even if he had realized he completely abandoned that time, I’m not sure it would’ve even been possible for him to go back, and if he HAD, there’s only one Time. Twilight either wouldn’t have been born, or he’ve been born in Wind’s timeline. Which raises some INTERESTING theories because if Twilight had been there, would his game have happened? If it HAD, would Wind even be a hero? Given that whole theory that Wind doesn’t even have the hero’s spirit and he CHOSE the hero life instead of the other way around. That’d honestly be so interesting to explore!! I kinda wanna write a fic on it
Time did was he was told to do, he did was he was guided to do by people older than him or who had more ‘power’ than him. He was around ten years old, I don’t think he had a “Lmao fuck this shit” attitude when timeline hopping, I don’t think he understood he was timeline hopping at all. He didn’t understand what he was doing and he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, he was just trying to survive, and I’ll even bet he really thrived on what little acknowledgement and appreciation he got for saving hyrule (kingdom) because he seems (to me at least) like after losing the Great Deku Tree and the Kokiri he was REALLY lonely
And yes, he definitely for sure has a soft spot for Twi. But aside from Twi JUST being his descendant, I think Time feels bad that Twi followed after him in the hero business. He probably realized Twilight was descended from him and then really LOOKED at him and saw everything that young man went through and Time probably felt AWFUL. And after realizing that Wind’s entire timeline suffered because of something he did, I’m sure he feels the same way towards Wind. Because he may not be Time’s blood, but he’s a KID and he’s been through so much. Also there could be an argument made that Time is such a hoverer around Twi rn because he was hurt. I’m sure Four could’ve been the one who was hit and Time would be hovering over HIM instead
TL;DR: Yes Time is incredibly flawed. That’s what makes him interesting, that’s what makes him a good character, I wouldn’t like him very much if he were perfect alkjslksj. But I do not think he intentionally abandoned the other timelines, nor do i think that has anything to do with why he seemingly favors Twi. He was a kid, I don’t think anyone understood what was happening. I think if Wind had never spoken up, Time never would’ve known
(also Timeline Talk 1):
but thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s always interesting to see the different ways we see the same character :) /gen

I’ve been meaning to make a post like this for a while now but kept forgetting. Since First isn’t widely known I wanted people to have an explanation of who the heck this guy is (and why they should love him). So without further ado
Who is the First Hero?
(All of the following pictures are from the Hyrule Historia)
The First Hero (or First as we call him in the Linked Universe fandom) shows up in a tiny manga at the back of the Hyrule Historia (that’s basically an encyclopedia for Zelda). He isn’t technically canon and doesn’t have a game of his own. But according to the manga he is the first Link, Skyward Sword Link’s predecessor.
He lived in a time when Hylia was still a goddess and before Demise’s first attack. He was a royal knight, much like Hyrule Warriors Link, and seemed to be a man of great respect and esteem. Until, that is, he was framed for an unknown crime and imprisoned.
He remains in the dungeons for four years. Then, when his so called “premonitions of danger” begin to come true, and Demise attacks Hyrule, his people decide “oh, wait! They kinda need a hero now!” So, they set him free and practically beg him to fight for them. He’s understandably bitter about the whole thing, but being the hero he is, he goes out to battle.
No sooner has he agreed to fight, than the goddess Hylia shows up on her crimson loftwing. She has come to battle Demise and help her people escape to safety.
The loftwing looks down upon the humans as weak and cowardly. But Link stands up to him, telling him “there are those among us who have the courage to fight.” The loftwing admires him for the sentiment, but isn’t convinced. He promises to keep watch over him to see if Link is a worthy rider.
With the loftwing gone to the heavens above, Hylia gives Link the Master Sword
Link doesn’t think he is worthy of it after his imprisonment, but Hylia assures him that the sword knows better. It sees beyond his tarnished reputation to the kind, brave man beneath.
Though Link is still bitter about everything he has endured, he swears to fight for his friends. He takes the sword and hones it into something a mortal can wield.
Then, he goes to battle.
Hylia rallies the other races around Hyrule to help the Hylians. Meanwhile, Link and his men fight for seven days. Despite their efforts, Demise begins to burn Hyrule to the ground.
In the end, Link goes to face him, promising to slay him.
But he is badly wounded in the fight. He collapses, weak and near death. Before he can fade away, however, the loftwing shows up and chooses him as his rider.
He swears to ride with the loftwing forever. Shortly afterward, the dragons from Skyward Sword bless the Master Sword with the power of the Triforce. Then, Link gives the sword to Hylia, who carves Hyrule from the earth.
Link retrieves the sword and drives it into the ground, finishing the job and sending Hyrule skyward.
He wants to follow his people to the skies, but his wounds catch up to him. He falls to the ground. In his last moments he promises that his spirit will always be with his people.
Hylia seals Demise away, even as the enraged god promises to prevail. Then, she goes to where her fallen hero lies.
She holds him, crying over him and lamenting the pain he had to endure to become the hero Hyrule needed. Knowing that Hyrule will need their help once more, she then promises to reincarnate them both. Only this time, she will be a mortal.
This story, we learn, becomes legend in the era of Skyward Sword. And the loftwing who Link swore to ride with chooses the child who has his reincarnated spirit, Skyward Sword Link or Sky.
Now, as for First’s standing in LU…I’m know multiple LU fans (myself included) speculate that Jojo will include him at some point. She’s been cryptic about it when asked though, so we don’t know for sure. Neither do we know when he’ll show up (if he does). So, for now, we can only hope.
…and create our own AU’s in the meantime ;)

During patrol Nightwing found a handmade doll that resembled his hero persona, this wouldn't be so weird if it weren't for the fact that he finds dolls resembling the other members of the batfam's hero personas scattered in odd spots throughout Gotham and Bludhaven. The weirdest thing happens when one night he finds a doll of someone he doesn't recognize. It's a pale teen with white hair and bright green button eyes wearing what looks like a black and white hazmat suit. Nightwing picks it up and the doll immediately bursts into Lazarus green flames. Nightwing finally decided to tell the fam about the dolls not knowing that Phantom, who was sealed in a sarcophagus by treacherous observents several years prior, was now awake. The problem is that the sarcophagus is in the batcave as a trophy, needless to say everyone was surprised when the lid suddenly blew off and out stepped a teenager. Danny is a mix of anger and confusion because this definitely isn't Amity Park
You know. This is almost the exact plot of another, non-dp-related-AU I’ve seen. It’s @/ovegakart doll AU, it’s an AU of Linked Universe, which is itself a LoZ AU where a bunch of Links have come together across time because reasons I won’t get into. In the second ever LoZ game, Adventure of Link, there are these dolls that are scattered across the map. They give you an extra life. So, in ovegakart’s AU, the Link from the first game and AoL(it the same link)finds dolls of himself and the other Links while in his own time. Then, in a well, he finds a doll of a Link none of them have ever seen before. He picks it up and it bursts into flames. I checked, that’s what happened, here is a link to the page. Oh, and Nightwing not telling his family about the dolls until he gets Danny’s? The same thing happened in this AU, where AoL Link doesn’t tell the other Links about the dolls until he comes across the mysterious Link doll. That mystery Link is the First Hero btw, he’s from the Skyward Sword manga.
I would’ve liked it if you, I dunno, credited the idea? Or at least make it not so obvious by changing the doll into something else? Or make it so that Nightwing only finds a Danny doll? Maybe have it melt into ectoplasm even? I have a couple posts already about how I’m a LU fan on here, and if you’ve seen that before, then did you think I didn’t follow ovegakart, one of the biggest LU/LoZ creators? Listen, I’m not mad at you, I’m just confused at your thought process here. This AU idea wasn’t made for dpxdc, it doesn’t even make much sense for it. Yeah yeah, people can do whatever they want, whatever, but at least credit it my god. Or change it up to suit dpxdc more, or both.
How many other people have just taken AU ideas from others and pawned it off as their own, thinking that no one would find out since they’re from another fandom? It makes me feel gross. Please, just credit the idea. If I just posted this with some writing adding onto this, not knowing about this idea coming from another fandom and another person. I think I might need to close my asks for a bit, I don’t feel great, sorry.
#danny phantom#dp x dc#dpxdc#revenant prompted#anon ask#is this discourse? fandom neg?#idk but anon. don’t like you very much. I don’t hate you but you make me feel kinda weird with how you just took this idea w/ no crediting#I’m in such a bad mood now I can’t believe I woke up to this#likely just overreacting but I really don’t feel good#you’re lucky your on anon or else I wouldn’t have posted this feeling like I put you on blast. I don’t want to do that#do I tag as Lu? I brought it up. Might just bring it up on my own blog to let others know.#or rant to one of Lu friends. I dunno I feel wary I feel bad I don’t like this anon why couldn’t you just do the simple act of saying;#”I got inspired by ovegakart/this Lu creator who’s name I don’t remember/this Lu/LoZ AU”#why you gotta be so uncouth anon? Learn to credit your sources you seem to be old enough to know how to do that#sorry for coming of as mean. I’m not trying to be but I just woke up and now I wished I never did. Okay that was dramatic but yeah#sorry

This is the friendly suggestion for LoZ and LU fans to go read the Twilight Princess manga to learn of the implications the Hero of Time/Time had an allegedly god slaying sword other than the Master Sword, was possibly sealed with it as the Hero's Shade, and was mistaken for a death god by the Hero of Twilight/Twilight once he pulled it out in a dare.

Chapter 1: Prologue the stardust family
Summary:
This is somewhat a mix of Sagau and genshin Cult AU with some isekai elements thrown in for fun. Key - { } translations and pick is time skip/scene transition.
The broke college student started up their third genshin account. “Hmm, who should I choose this time? Ugh, I wish there was a way to choose both! Hmm, maybe I could hack the code in the game and try to glitch it.” They pulled up the source code and started to mess around “Kate Kaslana? I’ve never heard of her.” Trying to click on the code just brought them back to the game it started to glitch and their screen started to warm outward and inward.
They reached toward the screen to see what happened and their hand warped straight through. As they tried to pull out their hand got stuck something, or maybe someone, was trying to pull them inside. “No no no no no! Shit!” They fell through and struck the sustainer of heavenly principles. “I’ll deal with you two later!” She seals the twins and throws them out.
“Now who do you think you are?”
“Please don’t hurt me! I’m sorry! I was just messing around, I didn’t mean to come here!”
“You insolent little vermin! I should- I should… I can’t even touch you. Fine, I’ll leave you with this then if you want so badly to experience the world then you’ll have to see it through to the end. I can’t have you dying through, there would be no resets for you. So i bestow my immortality upon you. Rest now, for when you wake you’ll have the glory and debauchery which you desire. You’re also getting a makeover, I’ll match you with the stardust twin.”
Meanwhile in Tevat the twins woke up 500 years after the fall of Khaenri’ah.
“Lu? Surge. Age! Surge!” {Lu? Wake up. Come on! Wake up!}
(This is Latin, Author-Senpai has made the executive decision that the twins originally spoke Latin [we’ve also decided to be a weeaboo cause this story’s already crack enough why TF not!]<3 as the queen Casey Aonso once said “this is for the Netflix charts, not the art.”)
{What in the dark realms are you doing} 🤍
{Thank goodness you’re okay!} 🖤
{Yeah now get off me stupid!} 🤍
{Okay, wow screw you too. We should find something to eat.} 🖤
{No shit, I’ll look for berries and meat. You try to catch some food.} 🤍
{Alright, I’ll see if I can set up a campfire as well.} 🖤
{Sounds good.} 🤍
Our hero (you) watches in an almost lucid dream state as the twins meet paimon and they learn the language of the world. Happy tears fall from their eyes as they see the twins laughing and teasing each other and Paimon. “These two are going to be alright. No matter what happens I did it, they can travel together. I just… wish I could go home, back to my friends and family.” They thought.
Over time our hero woke up and looked upon themself in the reflection of the ocean. The sustainer of heavenly principles had given them baggy black pants, a white dress shirt with a black tie, a white zipper hoodie that resembles a dragon with gold sparkles around the top and wrists, black combat boots and fingerless gloves bedazzled with stars. They muse to themself, “This is pretty cute.”
And with that they run after the travelers.

Thoughts on the Triforce
Having the mark of the Triforce is not synonymous with possessing the Triforce, but shows one is worthy of it. Some of the Links had the mark appear during their adventures, some were born with it, and some don't appear to have it at all.
The mark appears on Sky's hand as he tempers himself and the Master Sword. He later obtains the full Triforce. After it is used, it is hidden away again.
Four doesn't seem to have the mark or the Triforce of Courage, perhaps because he does not need it. Instead, his era(s) make use of the Light Force. Its exact relation to the Triforce is unknown, but one theory is that it is the sealing power Hylia's descendants carry, and is essentially Hylia's version of the Golden Goddesses' Triforce. She couldn't use it as a goddess, so she became Zelda.
Time gets Courage when the Triforce splits, and the mark appears when he is in the presence of the other two pieces. He leaves Courage behind when he travels back to his childhood.
Twilight is born with the mark and with Courage, which protects him from the Twilight. No idea if he still has it.
Wind has to collect the pieces of Courage that shattered when Time left that timeline. The mark appears when he completes Courage. After the King uses the full Triforce, it is left behind at the bottom of the Great Sea.
Legend obtains and uses the full Triforce after Ganon stole it. It returns to the Royal Family's care. He gets the mark sometime around the beginning of the Oracle games, perhaps after being called to by the spirit of the Triforce. The Triforce splits at the end of the Oracle games, and Legend gets Courage during ALBW. At the end of ALBW, they wish on the full Triforce, and it is once again in the Royal Family's possession.
By Hyrule's time, the Triforce of Courage has been hidden in the Great Palace by the old king, and the Triforce of Wisdom has been shattered and the pieces hidden in dungeons by Zelda (the more recent). Ganon has stolen Power. Hyrule collects and obtains Wisdom; uses it to defeat Ganon, thus obtaining Power; has the mark appear on his hand, marking him as worthy; obtains Courage; and uses the united Triforce to wake up Zelda I and bring hope to Hyrule.
After that, we delve into headcanon territory. For the purposes of LU, I don't think everything was immediately fixed in Hyrule's Hyrule. While the Triforce could theoretically solve all their problems and make Hyrule lush and livable again, that really doesn't match up with the image in my head. That's not what they wished for. I imagine restoring Hyrule takes work, and it's still a work in progress when hints of the Shadow's efforts start appearing, sending Link on this adventure. With this in mind, I tentatively hold with the idea that Hyrule's era is still too dangerous to hide the Triforce with the Royal Family; instead, Hyrule still has it, but it is dormant and probably won't be used again in his lifetime. His violent death would more or less spell the end of his world anyway, so he's already got plenty of motivation to stay out of the hands of monsters. Because the mark of the Triforce does not necessarily indicate holding the Triforce, I headcanon that Hyrule's bracers are hiding the mark not because he is hiding the fact that he holds the Triforce, but because it gives away his identity as the hero.
Warriors has the mark appear and already possesses Courage. Cia takes it, then gives it back, then Ganon takes it, then uses the united Triforce. Link et al use the full Triforce to seal Ganon away. The Triforce may end up in the possession of Lana, or else she just watches over it from afar, wherever it is now.
Wild's time apparently knows nothing about the Triforce, but they are concerned with Zelda's sealing power. Either Zelda possesses part or all of the Triforce from birth and needs to activate it, or she has the Light Force. I lean toward the Light Force theory. The Light Force is canonically passed down through the royal daughters and used to bless the Master Sword with its ability to seal evil. Either way, Wild does not seem to have the mark or the Triforce of Courage.
#none of this is at all important to linked universe#but brain went brrrrrrrr at 2 am and here we are#I haven't played most of these games so I'm prepared to be very very wrong#correct me but pls be nice about it#linked universe#analysis#Triforce#Light Force#blue speaks

Epic: The Musical and Linked Universe
So I’m sure someone else noticed this already but Epic: The Musical gives off Linked Universe vibes. So I’m honor of the Circe Saga releasing next week, I thought I’d put in my 2 cents about what songs I associate with each Link (+some non-canon LU Links). There’s a bit of another LU-Links-reunite AU building up in my head but there’s no real direction yet so have this brain vomit instead:
- The Horse and The Infant - Warriors. So this goes into my headcanon that Warriors is the hero of 10,000 years ago. No I have no foundation for that theory. It just IS. Anyways he’s fighting the Yiga with an army of Gerudo and Hylians. He has to kill the Yiga leader’s son, who’s the new incarnation of Ganondorf. The kid is an infant. I don’t think I need to explain more but yeah.
- Just A Man - Hyrule. This song is the ultimate Hyrule song for me. It explains his character in my Relinked AU too. It’s just… it’s Hyrule’s song. As for the story based off of Epic: The Musical itself, I think he’s running from some sort of war in his Hyrule (either a civil war or a war with Calatia). The details aren’t that clear yet, other than he kills someone and feels bad about it.
- Full Speed Ahead - Wind. Need I say more?
- Warrior of the Mind - our first non-canon Link: First! I Imagine First and Hylia kicking ass together during this song
- Polyphemus - Okay, we’re getting into true AU territory with this one, but this is Twilight’s song. He’s trying to piece together the Mirror of Twilight again and accidentally angers a Hinox or other large monster. With him is Dusk, Rusl (or maybe Colin), and Dusk is stabbed at the end. That’s all I’ve got for this one.
- Survive - Time. And this one has a Story. Ganondorf attacks Time’s castle town with an army of Gerudo and monsters. Time and the Sages fight him off but at the last second he breaks free and slaughters everyone, including Time. However, just as the song ends (the point where Polyphemus falls asleep), Zelda rewinds time and sacrifices herself to seal Ganondorf into the Mirror of Twilight. This is the moment the Downfall Timeline is created too.
- Remember Me - Our second non-canon Link, Shadow! He, Four, Dot, and others are fighting this monster. The Four Sword shatters, Shadow takes charge but in the end wants to do the noble thing. Oh and he gives his name as “Link” and not Shadow (or Shade, as Four’s beginning to call him in my headcanon)
- My Goodbye - Legend and Fable have a falling out. Legend’s sick of feeling used because he’s the hero, so he decides he’s had enough.
- Storm - Our third non-canon Link, Age! Basically a Tears of the Kingdom scenario except Age and his Zelda (Fauna) never went down below the castle. He never loses his arm and Fauna never goes to the past, but they have to evacuate Hyrule to the sky with the help of the Light Dragon who clears the way.
- Luck Runs Out - Sky and Groose. Idk what went down in Sky’s Hyrule but they’re having a disagreement about how Sky’s handling it.
- Keep Your Friends Close - Our last non-canon Link, Spirit! This one also has some story behind it to make the song fit. Idk why, but he and his Zelda (Phantom) have gone to speak to their Wind God, Zephos (the same from Wind Waker) who gives them a challenge. They fail and Spirit gets separated from the group. I imagine it might have something to do with Ganondorf who’s still stuck under the receding Great Sea.
- Ruthlessness - This absolute bop goes to Four. It’s also a follow-up to Remember Me, so that means the monster Shadow refused to kill is Special. Related in some way to Fierce Deity special. So the story here is after the encounter with the monster, Four, Shadow, and others (I’m debating giving Vaati a redemption arc?) decide to try to get help from the god Fierce Deity. Except Deity is pissed because he thinks Four is a weakling when it was actually Shadow who took the blame for what happened to the monster. Fierce slaughters all of Four and Shadow’s men, Four seals himself into the Four Sword to distract/hurt Fierce, and Shadow escapes but feels really guilty.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll add the Circe Saga when it comes out.
#epic the musical#linked universe#This is mostly vibes right now but here#lu chain#and then some#Lu chain + 4#lu warriors#lu hyrule#lu wind#lu first#lu twilight#lu time#lu shadow#lu legend#Lu age#or#lu calamity#if that’s what you call him#I call him Age#lu sky#lu four#Epic AU#LU Links reunite

Wild Visions - Chapter 8
Anyone writing LU or just zelda fics based in the BOTW Hyrule, I highly recommend downloading the interactive map. It's free from Google play and I use it all the time to find interesting locations for setting my stories. See if you can find where this fic ended up.
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Deciding not to travel along the main road, Wild made for the quarry ruins to the west of Castle Town. Clambering over rocks and squeezing between trees made it difficult for Wild to keep his hand on Hyrule. Coming to a compromise, he pushed Hyrule ahead of him and ordered him to walk.
Head hanging, hands gripping his arms for comfort, Hyrule marched on. With Wild’s knife at his back, Hyrule began to try and think his way out of his predicament. There was no doubt that the being who awaited them in the castle ruins was Dark Link. No matter what happened, Hyrule could not allow Dark to get hold of him and release the curse on his blood. He would throw himself into fire or water before he let that happen.
“Wild, please, I am begging you to see reason.” Hyrule insisted “This isn't you, you don't want to do this!”
“You don't understand,” Wild replied, his voice sounding strained and a little croaky. “It's not what I want. But if I don't, he's going to make me drink that vial. I don't - I don't want to die again.”
“You don't have to,” Hyrule tried to reason with him.
At that moment the pair of them stepped out of the trees and were faced with a small lake. The water reflecting the black stillness of the sky. Hyrule had had enough, if he didn't try and help his brother now, he may as well slit his own wrists and be done with it. He stopped abruptly not far from the edge of the lake, fists clenched, boots digging into the muddy ground.
Wild almost collided with Hyrule's back, but managed to stop short. His knife was up and pointing at Hyrule at once, panic flooding through him in a cold wave as he feared what Hyrule might do next.
“What are you doing?” Wild demanded, struggling to keep his voice from shaking. “Keep walking!”
“No Wild,” Hyrule said quietly.
For a moment he squeezed his eyes shut and took several deep breaths. The traveler had faced many foes in his time. He'd sealed Ganon away twice and rescued two princesses. He'd faced monsters and evils that threatened to destroy his adopted home forever. But as Hyrule turned to face his brother, he felt his courage falter for the first time.
Wild looked scared and stricken, whatever Dark had done to him was clearly weighing on his soul. He looked exhausted, dark circles had appeared under his eyes where they had never been before. Though he was clearly trying to keep Hyrule under his control, the hand gripping Wild's knife began to shake imperceptibly.
“I'm not going any further. And if you want me to go to that castle, you're going to have to kill me and carry me there,” Hyrule said calmly. Much calmer than he felt at that moment.
“What?” Wild huffed, on the verge of hysterical laughter. “Come on, you don't mean that.”
“Yes Wild, I do. I'm deadly serious. I cannot let you take me with you. If it is your mission to take me to who I think you are, then I will die before I let that happen.”
Wild opened his mouth with another order on his lips. But he closed it again without letting it loose. For the first time that night he actually looked at Hyrule. The young hero seemed utterly calm and resolute. He stared back at Wild with eyes full of pity, not for himself, but for his brother.
“Please Wild. Link, please, try and fight whatever it is that has this hold over you.”
Hyrule's softly spoken words sent shock waves through Wild's frantic thoughts. Dark's threats and orders boomed loudly in his head, as though fighting with Hyrule for control.
Get Hyrule to the castle.
Drink the poison should you fail.
Contrasted with Hyrule's soft demeanor, Dark's harsh warnings were too strong to be ignored. Wild's grip hardened and his features contorted into a scowl.
“No, I can't!” Wild growled, low and dangerous. But his voice cracked on a sob the next time he spoke. “I'm sorry Rulie.”
Wild lunged, closing the distance between them in two long strides. Hyrule had been expecting the attack. He waited for Wild to swing his arm before blocking and twisting his wrist to make him drop the knife. Unarmed, Wild tried to make a swing at Hyrule's head. His fist connected with Hyrule's ear, leaving a piercing ringing echoing in his head.
Staggering with his head spinning from Wild's punch, Hyrule turned his momentum against him. The young hero threw himself into Wild, knocking him over.
“Oof!” Wild sputtered, as Hyrule knocked the wind out of him.
The pair fell against the damp grass in a tangled heap. Hyrule's legs became intertwined with Wild's and he struggled to get to his feet. Meanwhile, Wild attempted to recover from Hyrule's surprise tackle. In their struggle, Hyrule’s hand slipped over the pouch at Wild's hip, breaking open the clasp. It took Hyrule the length of a breath to make a single decision.
Digging his hand into Wild's pouch, Hyrule closed his fist around the tiny bottle.
“No!” Wild screamed.
With a kick of his left leg, Hyrule managed to wriggle himself free and stumbled upwards to his feet. He kept the glass bottle firmly gripped in his hand as he took several backwards steps away from Wild. As he did so, he kicked something with the back of his boot. Looking down, Hyrule found Wild's knife. However, as he stared he watched as the blade faded and disintegrated into black dust.
“Hyrule stop!” Wild shrieked.
He reached out a desperate hand to Hyrule, still kneeling on the wet grass, his knees starting to grow wet with dew. Everything in Wild's mind was screaming at him to lunge at Hyrule and tackle him back to the ground. But something in his soul said otherwise.
Hyrule was his brother.
Hyrule had to go to the castle.
Wild didn't want to die.
He had to take the poison.
“I know this was meant for you, but I can't get through to you. So I suppose I only have one choice left. And I'm sorry Link. I'm so, so sorry.” Hyrule said, lifting the bottle slowly and pulling out the cork.
The pair were so engrossed in their own situation, that neither heard the approach of voices, or the brush of leaves on the edge of the woods. Neither saw the gleam of Time's armour in the moonlight, or the speed with which Wind drew his sword. They never knew how quickly their brothers tried to reach them as Hyrule lifted the vial to his lips.
The poor teen’s hand was trembling, as his tips brushed the edge of the bottle. Hyrule closed his eyes as he tipped his head back and took a deep gulp.
“No!” Wild yelled, his voice echoing a hundred times over, though to him silence had descended.
In a mad panic, he scrambled forwards and caught Hyrule in his arms as he began to fall. Despite Wild's extra feeding, the younger hero still felt too light and small in his embrace.
“Rulie no, oh Hylia please no,” Wild whispered manically.
He gripped Hyrule's wrist, but his own heart was beating so fast he struggled to find a pulse. In a desperate attempt to save him, Wild pressed his mouth to Hyrule's lips to try and remove the poison. But no matter how he tried there was no trace of the amber liquid left.
Hyrule's body felt limp and slack between Wild's arms. His torso rested heavily on Wild's legs. He tried to cradle his head so that his neck didn't strain or flop about. Hyrule wouldn't like that, it would be too painful.
“What have you done?” Wild hissed, venom spitting from his tongue as he spoke.
“Me?” The soft, innocent voice of Dark Link replied.
The entity slithered out of Wild's shadow and materialised before the two heroes. He stood with his hands loosely clasped behind his back, head slightly cocked to one side.
“I have done nothing. It is you who failed in almost every way possible,” he said, gazing down at Wild with indifference.
“No, that's not true. It was your poison he took,” Wild bit back.
“True, but he needn't have taken it. If you had done what I asked, his end could have been more comfortable,” Dark sighed, switching his gaze from one boy to the other. “Shame.”
Wild could feel hot tears burning behind his eyes. A lump formed in his throat as he tried to form words strong enough for the creature before him. But the weight of Hyrule's body in his arms made his grief stronger than his rage.
“He was the best of all of us,” he sobbed.
“What's that?” Dark asked, irritated by Wild's mumbling.
But Wild wasn't speaking for Dark's benefit.
“Hyrule, he was the bravest, the kindest, and most selfless one of us all.” Wild continued.
“Whatever,” Dark scoffed, growing increasingly bored by Wild's eulogy. “Right hand him over and I can finish what I came here for.”
The callousness with which Dark treated Hyrule's sacrifice, finally made something snap in Wild's mind. A shadow, which had soured his thoughts and his sight was blown away, as if by a summer breeze. He stared down at Hyrule's face, still flushed with life.
As Wild lifted his gaze, he met Dark's scarlet stare and sensed his impatience. He stood hands on hips, expecting Wild to obey his last command. But it no longer tugged at Wild's self control. The link between them had been severed. Hyrule had given his life to save Wild from being forced to do it himself. His sacrifice had been the jolt Wild needed to free himself of Dark's control.
“No. He's not going anywhere with you. And neither am I,” Wild said, resolute in his conviction.
At once all of his confidence and courage came rushing back to him. Like heat being blown into a furnace Wild felt himself come alive, despite Dark's best efforts.
The trampling of boots and the sound of swords being unsheathed finally reached Wild's ears. His lips curled as he locked eyes with Dark.
“I'd start running if I were you. You thought they hated you when you injured Twilight. You don't want to find out what they'll do when they realise Hyrule is gone,” Wild warned. Wishing he could explain in detail, what he wanted to do to the shadow in recompense for Hyrule.
“This is not the end. You know that, don't you,” Dark hissed, warily eyeing the approaching heroes.
“I know. But you haven't won today, and that's a victory for us,” Wild replied firmly, his grip on Hyrule tightening slightly.
Dark bared his teeth, but Wild wasn't afraid. The shadow had already put him through the worst he could suffer. The power he held over the Champion had faded like the shadow of night at the coming of dawn. Wild stared up at Dark defiantly, as he watched the creature take a few nervous steps back.
In an instant he vanished. Slipping through the shadows of reality as though he had never been there at all. Wild let out a sigh of relief, however, it soon turned to tears as he turned to look down at his brother.

hi! I don't know if you know the fallen timeliness theory? For linked Universe if you do could you explain it to me a bit? Because I read a fic with it were legend was from a fallen time and was times other descendent? So if you know could you pls explain to me of so ty!
P.s. I really want to know about because I'm suckered for time and legend angst or them just bonding.
Alright! So, LoZ lore does have an "official" timeline as published in the Hyrule Historia, detailing the canon placement of all games prior to BotW in 2017. According to this official guide, there are three cannonical timelines in the LoZ universe (potentially four after the release of AoC). These timelines all result from events within the adventure of the Hero of Time.
The general names are the timelines are the Adult Timeline, the Child Timeline, and the Fallen Timeline/Downfall Timeline.
The Child Timeline
The Child Timeline is the result of Princess Zelda (OoT/Lullaby/Sheik) sending back the hero's soul to his childhood before Ganon ever came into power. This timeline features the fact that the Hero of Time's adventure is not known in his era, but rather left behind when he traveled back to before it happened. He then proceeded to go off and undertake the events of Majora's Mask and later becomes the Hero's Shade after his death. In terms of LU, this is the timeline Twilight comes from.
The Adult Timeline
The Adult Timeline is also the result of Princess Zelda sending the Hero of Time back to his original timeline. However, despite the hero being sent back to alter time, it still happened, and continues to exist even after he left it. This era has had the Hero's Spirit removed from it, unable to reincarnate without the hero first dying, so there are no more Heroes of Courage. There are heroes however, including Wind Waker's Link, known in LU as Wind. Here, because there is no Hero's Spirit, when trouble came, the goddesses flooded the world to get rid of it, creating the Great Ocean. Wind is the successor to the Hero of Time here, claiming the triforce of courage rather than being chosen by it and establishing a new era of heroes.
The Fallen/Downfall Timeline
This timeline is the one you asked about. While more debated and with many more variations, the general idea here is that the Hero of Time was killed by Ganon, and only be being sealed by Princess Zelda (OoT/Lullaby/Sheik), the Sages and the Knights of Hyrule. The seal on Ganon lasts a few hundred years before it is broken by Aganim, and a young boy named Link (LU Legend) is the one called to defeat him as a result.
The Downfall Timeline tends to have many variations on the course of events leading up to the death of the hero. Hyrule's Downfall by RwanLink is a fan animation that shows an alternate trail of events than the "official" timeline. Many fanfiction authors also have their own theories, varying from the hero still being a child to the hero having grown up and spent seven years training rather than being asleep, and his seven year nap actually being a preventative measure by Fi to prevent the timeline from occurring.
Usually, when reading fanfic, it's fair game what the events surrounding the Death of the Hero of Time are, so be aware of that!
The Legend and Time angst usually stems from Time's guilt at learning that not only did he leave behind alternate timelines, he also left one in utter ruin because he Failed.
Again, deviations regarding his fate do make it difficult to pin down how old he might have been at his death, but some author's (myself included) have written Time as being old enough to have messed around and left some progeny. Legend is NOT canonically Time's descendant. He IS, however, descended from a line of knights commonly associated with Time (the Knights of Hyrule*), as well as a knight who looked crazily similar to a young Time (Raven from the Oracle of Ages manga). This has led to theories of relations between Time and Legend. I've seen some theories where Raven and Time are biological brothers, Raven is Time's descendant, and even one featuring Raven as Time's father! All of these leave a lot of room for Legend and Time bonding/angst dynamics, so I love them all!
*this is actually the same Knights family which Ashei from TP is descended from, making them distant cousins!

Across time
LU/oot link x child!reader
the guide is 11/12 during the events of the story
Tw: general angst, light body dysmorphia?, Poor editing, oot spoilers.
The hero of time had a child not physically but mentally in a way he dubbed them the guide normally the child be concerned a strange small voice talking talking to them like they had known him his entire life like he was there best friend and them in return and it was quite annoying.
Until he had to leave his home behind the first time he heard them go quiet was after he left the kokiri Forest for the first time saying farewell to saria and the place you've known as a home for all his life was not an easy task maybe even worse by the silence his guide presented after saying goodbye to one of his only friends he felt them he felt there warm tender embrace he could feel there kindness and empathy radiating within him.
"I'm sorry link I know this must be hard for you, to just leave everything and go on a journey like this but hey at least you're not alone you've got me and I'll make sure we get through this together, ok." The child-like voice spouted, sounding not much similar than his own.
"Thank you" he whispered
"What's your name?"
" I'm Y/N " they replied with childlike enthusiasm.
"Do you think we will really stay together through this" he spoke silently walking into Hyrule Field.
"Yeah well we got to, I know you have navi, but who else is going to watch your back." The guide exclaimed to the child hero.
And they did, even when link had went to the master sword sealed within it's pedistle anxiety radiating within him he pulled sealing his fate.
Saria was gone
Princess Ruto was gone
Dariunia was gone
Zelda was missing
All he had was navi and his guide
Y/N had proven to be a beacon of light in his dreary adventure' not to say Navi wasn't helpful but Navi never had any helpful puzzle solving skills and the guide had an odd but unique scence of humor.
Whenever the mood got dark and whenever link let his mind wander too much he could always count on his guide to make a off-color/strange, funny joke, awful pun or even just some reassuring affirmation to keep his Spirit's up.
But then it all changed as soon as the master sword was pulled out of its pedistle it all changed the young boy had the body of a young man, but not the mind to match. And everything, was changed not just the young hero but his land castle town was decrepit, a shell of its former self,Zora's domain a frozen pit, and gororn city all but abandoned.
Hyrule had gone to "heck in a handbag" as they said the one thing stayed the same, his only constant thus far his guide.
Y/n
But things never really got better after finding all the stages but y/n remaind through every hardship trial and quest no matter how bleak it got at least he had people to rely on navi and his self proclaimed "guide".
Until the inevitable end.
Zelda was taken by gannondorf, trapped in a crystal and taken to the remains of Hyrule castle.
This was the endgame he knew it and so did y/n.
"Don't worry link we'll rescue Zelda and save the day together ' we just gotta!" They exclaimed with the typical childlike nativity.
Link on the other hand was not so sure he couldn't escape the sinking feeling that something bad was going to happen regardless of how this was going to end.
"Ok then let's finish this and bring peace to Hyrule!" Link exclaimed.
The battle and escape was grueling, every attack from Gannon hurt tenfold however this was nothing with his guide and navi by his side the two people he could depend on most.
He could take on anything, right?
"Right, Y/n......"
"Y/n"
"Y/n"
" I'm sorry link The adventures over it's time for me to go" they sniffled.
Were they crying?
"Please I already lost navi I don't want to lose you too' don't go please." He sobbed did everything they went through together.
"I,m so sorry I don't want to go but the adventures over I wish I could stay longer but I cant"
"I'm sorry link, goodbye."
And then as if he felt his soul leave his body they left.
Just like that.
There warmth and tenderness he felt all throughout his very being was gone.
"Y/n"
"Y/n"
"Please come back."

A personal tweak to the Zelda Timeline
So basically I’ve been thinking about LinkedUniverse and been doing some sorta LU fanart and THAT had me thinking about the Zelda Timeline, and more specifically how it would make more sense if Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures swapped Timeline placements. And that’s what this post is about.
Why I feel FS would work better if it came after FSA in the Timeline and vice versa.
So reason number one is how Vaati is characterised in FSA & MC vs how he’s characterised in FS. In the former games, Vaati is shown to be power hungry and Cunning, like when he imprisoned and then impersonated the king in order to both find the Light Force, and stop Link in MC. And while he’s not the MAIN villain and is being manipulated by Ganon in FSA, I think it’s save to say that he’s still in control of his own actions, and was likely scheming up his own plans independently of Ganon, and I might add that in never of theses games has he ever shown interest in Zelda, never even called her pretty. Then we get to FS and suddenly Vaati has gone insane and is suddenly girl crazy and wants to marry Zelda, like, do I need to say more? He goes from Intelligent & Power Hungry, to Insane & Girl Crazy, and then back to Intelligent & Power Hungry. This Sudden change in character makes a lot more sense if FS came after FSA, as then he would be going from Intelligent & Power Hungry in MC, then staying that way in FSA, only to go mad from being sealed in the Four Sword for so long that he can’t even remember who he used to be in FS. Plus the new Timeline placement means that the fairytale mentioned at the beginning of FS suddenly becomes a reference to FSA, in which Vaati is partially implicit in Zelda’s and the Shrine Maidens kidnappings.
Reason number two is how the Gerudo are characterised in FSA vs OoT & BotW/TotK. Again It’s the issue of them going from Fierce Warrior Women in OoT, to Peaceful Desert Dwellers in FSA, and then back to being Warrior Women in BotW / the ancient past of TotK. This would, again, make more sense if FSA swapped Timeline placements with FS, because then the Gerudo are going from Peaceful Desert Dwellers, to Warrior Women, and then staying like that for all their later appearances in the Timeline, and since Twinrova is at least 360 year old, they very well may be the reason for this shift, as they have been manipulating the Gerudo tribe for a long time. This would also mean that FSA is now the game in which Ganon gets his Trident weapon that he uses in most of his future appearances.
And speaking of Ganon the third reason is Ganon’s reasoning for invading Hyrule + Shadow Link’s actions in FSA. In the Hyrule Encyclopaedia, the reason given for Ganon’s invasion of the kingdom of Hyrule is that he’s bitter over his defeat at the hands of the Hero of Twilight at the end of TP, and that Shadow Link, is a being born from that bitterness and brought into the world using the Dark Mirror. Now this is, in my opinion, kinda stupid. Cuz not only is the Ganon from FSA a different incarnation of Ganondorf than the Ganondorf that appears in TP and therefore shouldn’t be able to recall those events, but Shadow Link, (a being born from Ganon’s resentment) actions in FSA don’t really lend themselves to this explanation ever. Shadow Link, or I should say the Shadow Links in Four Swords Adventures only attack Link in certain stages, and when they aren’t doing that, their off harassing the citizens of Hyrule, smearing Link’s good reputation in the process. To me, if Shadow Link was born from Ganon’s resentment of being defeated in TP, then Shadow Link should be more focused on defeating the Colours, and not off tormenting the rest of Hyrule. Shadow Link’s actions DO however make a lot more sense if Ganon is invading Hyrule for similar reasons as to WW Ganondorf. That being he resents how the people of Hyrule get to live in a fertile, prosperous land, while the Gerudo have to endure living in the harsh, unforgiving Gerudo Desert, and want the kingdom for himself, this makes Shadow Link’s actions in FSA make more sense, since in this instance, Shadow Link is born from Ganon’s resentment of how easy Hyrule’s citizens have it, thus Shadow Link spends most of his time giving the people of Hyrule a hard time. And making FSA come before FS makes this explanation make more sense.
I feel like there’s probably more I could go into, but these are the 3 main points I wanted to talk about. I hope I’ve explained my reasoning well enough and that you have a nice day/night.

I started typing and it got out of control...
I don't know if you've watched Ever After High or not, but I've been re-watching the entire show on account of not having much to do and I've come to the conclusion that an LU crossover with EAH would be absolutely awesome. The general idea is that characters from fairytales grow up and have kids that re-enact their parents' stories and this happens over and over again to the point that their entire society is built around this. Since they have a magic book that kind of seals your fate if you sign it, this is where the conflict of the show comes from.
Obviously there are a few different ways a person could go about setting this up but I'm just going to pick out fairy tale parents and backstories for them because I think that's the most fun.
Warriors: I'm thinking that he'd be best as Helen of Troy. Greek mythology is canon in EAH because of Cupid, so it works. The same themes of lust and infatuation are present. Also war.
Wild: He fits Sleeping Beauty's story the most, but that's already taken so the next best thing is Rip Van Winkle. It's only 20 years compared to 100, but I think it's the closest I'm getting for now, and the point is that he wakes up as an old man.
Sky: I think he should be the guy from the jabberwocky poem that uses the vorpal sword to defeat it. The jabberwocky is supposed to be the most powerful monster in EAH last I checked, so it would be the closest equivalent to Demise other than the Evil Queen.
Legend: Given that wizards are supposed to live a long time, Merlin would be a good fit for Legend because he'd have a few centuries to finish growing up into a mature wizard. He could still be a veteran of adventures this way without sacrificing his magical abilities.
Twilight: Unfortunately there aren't really any stories about wolves that aren't villains so he's tragically stuck being a non-descript farmer. I'm so sorry. Under other circumstances he'd get to be one the guy from "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" except that guy is a bear and not a wolf.
Wind: I'm torn between picking an infamous pirate or a story from mythology. Either one would probably work, to be honest, but it would probably work better if Tetra was a pirate's daughter and he's related to a deity in charge of ocean storms.
Hyrule: Ended up picking Jack the Giant Killer for him because that story's about surviving because you're clever, and Hyrule's games are supposed to be ridiculously hard. Also there's a magic sword involved.
Four: With the Minish he could totally fit into the story about the little elves that help the tailor/cobbler. But there's a story called "The Four Skillful Brothers" and I can't say no because it literally ends with them rescuing the princess via teamwork and splitting the reward.
Time: I feel like he'd fit in best as some kind of forest spirit or changeling, but as the Hero's Shade he could also be Godfather Death. I've been thinking about it and I really can't come up with a good placement for him.
Spirit Tracks Link gets an honorary mention because he is canon in my heart. Since New Hyrule is in the middle of the industrial revolution he's probably more of an urban legend. Either the ghost of a train conductor's kid or a guy cursed to see ghosts like his Zelda.
I know nothing about ever after high but im obsessed with what you’ve just said to me oh my god
first of all anytime someone draws the connection between Wars and Helen of Troy I loose my mind a bit, one day when I have the proper brain capacity and time I’m going to write a whole ass analysis paper on the comparison between the two of them because its so important to me
ALSO JABBERWOCKY MENTION??? I’M OBSESSED. AND JACK THE GIANT KILLER FOR HYRULE?? dude I can see you spent sooo much time thinking about this and oh my god I am so obsessed this is really cool, you ate

First little Fanfiction ever to be posted here…
Basically an LU AU where the plot is mostly the same, but not everyone in the group is hylian.
Concept: When a Kokiri gets chosen by their Guardian Fairy, they will get a claim mark to show their bond. Mask got Navi’s mark, but so does Hyrule.
-…-
Link had no doubt in their mind or heart about their Guardian Fairy’s love towards them. She had always known things and what to do in any situation.
The night Navi had sealed her claim over Link, there had been even less of a doubt. The blue fairy, even though cold and impatient at the beginning, had called them her Little Light, and not once had Navi raised her voice to yell at them nor had she been cruel.
Even if back then when Link had not been a full-blooded Kokiri, and the world around them had decided to toss them aside every given time. Never really belonging somewhere, just tolerated for a while. Navi had wanted them.
That’s why Link never let any other Guardian Fairy near them, no one would get ride of the only thing that proved to the world that the young hero belonged to someone that loved them! Tatl understood, if not completely, but she saw how important it was for the lost Kokiri. So she held watch to not let her friend down a second time!
Navi loved her child! There was no doubt in their mind or heart…even if they never got a chance to say goodbye. Not even before the news of Navi’s death got to the little hero.
There should not be any doubt in them. Right? Right!
So Mask knew they had no reason to be jealous of Hyrule! More so, they didn’t wanted to feel it in the first place. Jealousy made people bad, Mask knew it first hand in case of Ganondorf, and even more personally by Mido.
Worst of all, Hyrule had been nothing but kind and gentle to them, sharing his knowledge of fairies and the great mothers, assisting in every little task he could be helpful and always showing comfort to his brothers in spirit. Still all that didn’t took the awful feeling inside Mask away, and the lost hero couldn’t confess to any one of their true feelings, towards the Traveler!
So all they could do, was burring their face deeper into the Captain’s side, knowing the man would mistake that action as one of them being tired. At the distance they could still hear Hyrule talk to the others. Alone some lines the fae would drop reminded Mask of Navi, making it harder to ignore the pain inside them.
As in mercy the fire in the middle of the camp became lauder, and the wind and trees decided to start singing. Luring the young child to sleep, and sing the pain away with a song from home.
Mask listen, allowing the forest to ground them, if only for one night. Tomorrow the pain in their chest would rise again and if unlucky the group would find a town to stay the night, away from the gentle trees and soft spoken wind. So they prayed that night, silently, begging the golden three for forgiveness.
They loved their brother, but how much did he loved Mask?
———————————-
It’s not finish, not sure if I will someday finish it, cause I don’t know where to go with it. I had an idea, but then again I have so many ideas with all of them, but it never comes with a good plot to write with :/
So the general idea was to explore Mask’s huge abandonment issues, while also trying to explore Hyrule’s own personal problems with Navi.
Anyways, this is my first time writing in english, so please excuse the weird grammar and other errors, would still love to get feedback to improve.
#not completely happy with it but I wanted to share#do any of guys have plot ideas to share???#or advice how to find them?#lu fanfiction#linked universe#lu time#lu mask#lu hyrule#lu chain

Slightly eldritch Link and Zelda post-totk? Like what effects does draconification have on Zelda when she returns and what effects does link have from the zonai arm?
Could be physical, could be mental, maybe both?
And if you are into linked universe, what does the chain think of this?
..... C:<
Slightly eldritch, you say? WELL...
I don't have a lot for a Post-TotK Zelda... Maybe some leftover scales on parts of her body but that's as far as I can think of.
But for Link, I have PLENTY.
Especially for a Post-TotK LU Wild.
This is gonna be a very long post so please bear with me on this one.
--
Many of the Post-TotK Wild headcanons I had were made from 2019 onwards, after the BotW2 announcement trailer. And then started to evolve and become more eldritch during the 4 year long waiting and from the breadcrumbs of info the Zelda dev team dropped prior to 2023 release.
(Most of these Post-TotK Wild headcanon have now since been debunked with the official TotK game lore. But I like to come back to them and they are being repurposed in some way with the new official TotK context).
Many of these headcanons were about Wild's creepy glowing green hand. Especially as prior to the game's release, it was never revealed who was the hand's original owner. So I had a dark theory that the Glowing Green Hand was originally the Ancient Hero's and their Hero's Spirit was used as the "Seal" on Ganondorf's corpse. Thus halting the Reincarnation Cycle and why there's a massive 10K year gap between the Ancient Hero of 10K and the Hero of the Wild's incarnations. (This is no longer the case, of course but I sometimes think about it).
--
So anyway, as for what effects the Zonai Arm may had left behind on Link.
Officially, I had an idea that the Recall ability had enhanced Link's Flurry Rush ability. Particularly the "freeze" game mechanic when Recall is activated, which allowed Link to quickly observe what's in front of him in a split second in real time. And also makes it easier for him to trigger his Flurry Rush when on the ground.
So...basically his time perspective and trigger instincts for his Flurry Rush ability have improved. Especially as I have a headcanon that Link's Flurry Rush is his Champion Ability in BotW.

As for Pre-Totk release / "if Link kept the Zonai Arm abilities" headcanons, I have a couple of ideas that I did experimented with. Especially with the LU Boys.
At the time, I had Post-TotK Wild to not only being older but is also rather cryptic about his TotK adventure with the reasoning that its still too raw for him to tell the rest about what happened (Especially as there was so little info about what happened at the time, other than "a sequel is in development" and "Link gets a glowing arm").
Of course, this has now changed and I am still thinking about what new experiences and abilities from TotK would Wild bring to the LU Family. Though the one definite change from the original Post-TotK headcanon is that... Wild is now 7 years older than he was in BotW. So he's now 125 years old.
Before the Zonai Arm's Abilities were revealed, I had an idea that the Glowing Arm had three abilities - dubbed "Farore's Blessings" - Wrath (rage/survival power up), Breath (ability to see spirits/soul leaking) and Spirits (animal spirits and where the Farore's Spirits originated from).
Some of these ideas may be repurposed with the official TotK ideas.
I have also done a handful of stories that explores the Farore's Blessing abilities with the LU family in the past. Including Puppet Twilight AND Fierce Deity. Especially the Fierce Deity one which was originally an early live writing story that I spotenously created in the LU main server back in 2019.
Here's the sketches I made based on that.

I have plenty more in store! Many old Pre-TotK-release headcanons and new TotK ones that are slowly brewing in the back of my mind. But this is how much I can post for now.
Enjoy! :D

Lu timeline
hahahahah fuck you all I've figured it out-
I'm not the first tho' :,)
Alr so, we all know the Linked universe right? (If you don't wtf are you doing, go read it-)
Alr I'm being aggressive lemme just explain.
So the timeline goes like this,
First
Sky
Four
Time
Legend Twilight Wind
Hyrule Spirit
(Warriors)
(Wild)
But where do Warriors and Wild go???? Well that's what imma answer according to my own Headcanons and an AO3 story which I give a link to at the end.
Now I know what most of you are thinking (and what some ppl don't know), Warriors isn't exactly canon. Well he is in the Linked Universe so we're giving him a timeline!
Warriors would most likely be after Hyrule, but because of the time traveling, all of the worlds would end up mixing in the end. Wild, meanwhile would be after Warriors! I know what you're all thinking. What about Twilight and Wild's protégé and mentor relationship??? Well it'll stay the same, so will the fact that in my heart they are blood related.
The story (that I will link at the end) will explain why Wild is after Hyrule, but I want to explain why Warriors is before Wild and after Hyrule as well as to why in Botw, there is a hero with red hair and not blond like Wars.
Buckle up everyone, this is going to be a mouthful.
So in the story, Hyrule was killed and his blood was drained to resurrect Ganon, then another hero comes and seals Ganon. In Botw, there is a story of a red haired hero who sealed Calamity Ganon. What if that hero was Warriors and the red hair was because he uses his firerod during the war which may have caused his hair to look red instead of blond.
I don't know how to explain the Sheikah technology, maybe it was a later addition to the war, y'alls can go wild with the tech but I'm here for the lore. This is where I'll stop, have fun with this peace of info which you'll probably forget Abt in a few hours 👍
Also for Twilight and Wild being so close, I think that the original world was after Hyrule, but because of the merging of worlds, the story ended being of Twilight, Hyrule long since forgotten but the story of how the calamity was created by Hyrule is somewhere really far away or is lost information!
