My absolute hottest trigun-specific hot take is that Badlands Rumble is probably the reason we're never getting a 1:1 Trimax adaptation
#trigun but also discourse :( sorry guys :((#when you see Nightow's comments about Vash's characterization warning potentetial new readers that Vash is different from the anime (98)#plus that mildly disastrous panel interview where he had to directly call out the VA for BLR saying Vash secretly wanted violence#and then that *other* interview after the film's release where he says that the main series was over#and that the only way there'd be more Trigun content was if someone wanted to do something wildly different#I genuinely suspect he was kinda disappointed in how people tried to make Vash fit into a standard archetype#and since the og wasn't locally popular at the time it might have ended up rotting away in obscurity like Outlaw Star :((#Like if he didn't clearly love western comics use of alt timelines/AU's/reboots we might've never seen more Trigun again#could've ended up like it did for Clamp where there was just a huge dry period after a spat of bad adaptations#except the dry period would never ever end and the series would be one of those “Hey do you remember this?? At all???” things#not putting this in the main tag because it's kinda mean to 98 fans (and the 5 hardcore fans for BLR)
