Sometimes I feel like I'm in "Being John Malkovitch".
I mean, "right, I finished reading about rockstar Crowley and headmaster Aziraphale, so while I'm waiting to see what Crowley's going to do with the Aziraphale-coded cat, how figure skaters Crowley and Aziraphale are going to react to having to share the ice rink, and where the night heat is going to take the lighthouse keeper Crowley and the ornitologist Aziraphale, I can find out what the time-travelling Crowley is up to with his angel. And after that, I'm going to get back to the hungover Crowley and Aziraphale in the California wine country, and when I finish that one (probably with some breaks for the time-travellers and maybe the astronomers), perhaps I could look for 19th century ghosts with the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale :D"
See what I'm talking about?

Howdy ^^
I'm here to propose a little game ^^
In our Deer Gods AU, the Village is ruled by 4 Lords. Each of these Lords has his own coat of arms.
@art-from-iso drew them and WIPed them on her last post and, with her permission, I was able to color them ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The game is as follows: which Lord does this coat of arms belong to?
Make your suggestions ^^

You're standing in a quaint medieval village, stacked to the heavens. The rustic thatched-roof buildings and rough stonemasonry climb into the skies, forming towers of poverty. Bales of straw and illegible wooden signs decorate the cobble-paved streets.
No one walks the streets. No sound comes from the buildings. You are alone.
A moment ago, you and your partner were with your child, and then there was a sound, and then blackness. They are not here. You must find them.
The streets twist and wind and offer no hints by which to navigate. What landmarks you can spot seem to shift and vanish the instant you turn your attention away. You have nothing you can use.
...That isn't true. You have four things you can use, if you can find their true nature.
An UNSEEN CAKE AIDE. There is a presence you can sense. You can tell it's not your partner or child, but it is at your beck and call and is, you're fairly sure, an accomplished pastry chef.
Some RACIST THIMBLES. You have in your possession a set of thimbles which have been painted with exaggerated racial caricatures of various ethnicities. They're pretty horrible.
NINE LARVA GLUE. A sticky substance once extracted from the glands of a bug not unlike a silkworm, taken before forming its cocoon. How much of it do you have? Nine. You have nine of it.
And a COSY CUB TV MENU. This is a laminated document explaining which TV channels are airing Cosy Cub (which appears to be a children's program of some sort) and when.
You think you can find your way out of this medieval village if you DEFEAT THEIR UNTURN.

Guess the Suitor
Fingertips danced across his chest, ghosting the surface of newly exposed skin, lingering when you noticed how his breath hitched and his body tensed the further down you got. With a few quick tugs, you pulled the hem of his shirt from his waistband to get to the last few buttons. Your grin grew wicked as you sank to your knees to finish your job.

Sphinx, Astrosphinx
Tumblr media
"astrosphinx" © Weasyl user "xdrake", accessed at their gallery here
[Commissioned by @strawberry-crocodile. The astrosphinx is from Spelljammer, but hasn't gotten updated in the 5e Spelljammer box set. Maybe that's because they're super destructive in the original text--it refers to them living on lifeless asteroids because they immediately kill anything that fails to answer their impossible riddles. That makes them seem kind of one-note, and the commissioner asked me to make them more able to interact with other creatures. My idea was to make them malevolent game show hosts. Feel free to draw inspiration from Jigsaw, darker and edgier versions of the Riddler, and Sam Reich on Game Changer.]
Sphinx, Astrosphinx CR 10 CE Magical Beast This creature has the body of a lion, and its head is the skull of a ram. A third golden eye is open in its forehead. Its wings, mane and the tuft of its tail are covered in luxurious fur that glimmers with starlight.
An astrosphinx is a mad sphinx capable of flying between worlds. Although they do not talk about their origins, some sages suspect that astrosphinxes arise not through natural birth, but as a metamorphosis when a sphinx delves too deeply into mysteries of a cosmic nature. All astrosphinxes are, by mortal standards, completely insane. Like many other sphinxes, they enjoy riddles, but their riddles are typically nonsense—“what is the speed of blue?” and “how loud is down?” for example. Playing along may mollify an astrosphinx for a while, but it rarely finds the answers of other creatures acceptable in the long term, and responds to spoilsports with physical violence.
Astrosphinxes typically open combat with a breath weapon, a soporific gas. If all of their foes are knocked unconscious, the astrosphinx may take the time to cage their captives, or put them into diabolical traps that torture creatures to death in increments. If their prey remains active, they usually follow up with a blast of chain lightning, followed by melee attacks. Although an astrosphinx’s natural weapons are deadly enough, their dewclaws are flexible enough to act like thumbs, and some carry oversized weapons into combat as well.
An astrosphinx loves to subject other creatures to its riddles, whether they want to play or not. Most astrosphinxes have a dungeon complex rigged with traps and torture implements, sometimes staffed with lesser creatures that have agreed to serve the astrosphinx in exchange for room, board and their lives. Astrosphinxes act as deranged quiz-masters, subjecting their captives to trivia contests, word games and their obtuse riddles, increasing their torment by inches when they fail to answer correctly, and dialing up towards lethality if people refuse to play along. Some of these complexes exist in air pockets on asteroids floating through space, so even surviving an escape becomes part of the challenge (and sometimes a part of the challenge that the astrosphinx encourages).

Starflight (Su) An astrosphinx can survive in the void of outer space. It flies through space at an incredible speed. Although exact travel times vary, a trip within a single solar system should take 3d20 hours, while a trip beyond should take 3d20 days (or more, at the GM's discretion)—provided the astrosphinx knows the way to its destination.

June of Doom : day 21 to 25
Penultimate batch of drabble before closing @juneofdoom !
21 . “Let’s play a game."
The faint glow of the blue orb in the center of the room caught everyone's attention. The Dragonborn, cautiously, reached out to touch it. In an instant, a metal cage trapped them and the light began to circle around the group, emitting shrill sounds.
“What the hell did you do?” Kadain muttered, his eyes wide with worry.
Instinctively, everyone gathered in the center of the cage, ready to draw at the first threat.
But before anyone could react further, the orb sank into the pedestal. The ground beneath them shook, then gave way, and the cries of surprise turned into screams of panic. (102)
22 . “What’s the bad news?”
The Dragonborn was bedridden, feverish and pale.
“The bad news?” they asked in a weak voice.
Xelzaz, holding a dagger that he heated with his flames, looked grim. "The wound is infected. It needs to be cauterized."
They grimaced. “There’s nothing else you can do?”
Xelzaz shook his head. "It's the only way to stop the infection from spreading. It's either this or..."
The Dragonborn swallowed hard.
"Nebarra, Lucifer, I need you two to hold them tight."
As Xelzaz pressed the red-hot blade to the wound, the burning pain made the Dragonborn scream, eyes wide with agony, struggling violently against the guys grip. (103)
23 . “You’re doing great.”
Lucien looked at his trembling hands, remnants of magic still crackling at his fingertips. The battlefield was littered with the charred remains of their enemies. His heart was pounding, fear and horror twisting his guts. Inigo approached, his eyes shining with admiration.
“Lucien, it was incredible!”
Inigo placed a reassuring hand on Lucien's shoulder, his eyes filled with admiration. "You're doing great, my friend. That was some impressive magic."
Lucien looked down at his hands which wouldn't stop trembling. He was certainly proud of his mastery, but having to use his magic in such circumstances left a bitter taste in his mouth. (104)
24 . “Let’s get you cleaned up.”   (Stitches/Bandages)
Nebarra's hands shook as he slowly removed his helmet, revealing the wound and his face beneath. Taliesin tried not to stare too much into the mercenary's youthful face. He knelt beside Nebarra, and carefully cleaned the wound, then began to stitch it up with precise, but delicate movements. Nebarra winced, but didn't flinch away, allowing Taliesin to finish his work. The silence was heavy, full of unsaid words.
"Done." Taliesin said softly, carefully wrapping Nebarra's head with bandages. He then handed Nebarra his helmet, and their eyes met briefly.
"Thank you." Nebarra muttered, his voice hoarse. (100)
25 . “I should have listened to you.” (Guilt)
Lydia took a dim view of the fact that the Dragonborn was pillaging the offerings in the funeral urns. These ruins were the burial grounds of her ancestors and she felt guilty for following her thane on these kinds of adventures. She had tried to reason with them on this point, but the lure of the treasures that these ruins could abound were the strongest. Lydia didn't dare look into the blue eyes of the Draugr, as she imagined the looks of her ancestors full of disapproval for what she was doing : disturbing their age-old sleep. (98)

Spin the wheel and play a game with me!
Whatever you get, send me an ask and do what it says! I'll block you if you send it as a DM !
EDIT: My asks are being a bit weird, I can see some people have sent some in but they're not showing up in my inbox - please try again! And remember if it says me that's me (Three) and if it says you then that's you 😂
E.g. tell me a secret - you tell me (three) a secret

Last Line Game
I was tagged by the lovely @goldenseresinretriever and @phoenix-rising-starbird-one
Rules: Share the last line you wrote and tag as many people as there are words.
"Oh," you said, pressing your palm to your chest as you regained your footing. "It's just you."
"Just me," Bradley Bradshaw replied with a shrug. He surveyed your body, and you could tell he was trying his best not to react to your outfit. Or lack thereof.
You crossed your arms over your chest. "Yes. I'm still in my pajamas."
"I didn't say a word about it," he replied immediately, those brown eyes suddenly feigning innocence.
No pressure tags: Everyone who wants to play (but especially hoping for you know what from @withahappyrefrain)

June of Doom 2024 Day 21 (@juneofdoom)
A/N: Here we go! The third (and last) arc: The drabble-arc! All of the last ten stories will be drabbles of either 100, 200 or 300 words. (Thanks @thesconesyard for helping me decide what the last arc will be, without knowing exactly what she decides XD) Please enjoy~
21. “Let’s play a game.“
| Stairs | Pressure Points | Trap Door |
~
'Let's play a game. I'll give you a head start of thirty seconds. If you get out of this building, you will live. If you don't ...'
Pavel Chekov didn't even want to think about the terrible things to happen to him if he wouldn't win the game.
He had seen the dead bodies of the other 'guests' his captor had hosted. Even though their hadn't been much left of the dismembered humanoids. Nothing but a gory piece of art.
Chekov sobbed heavily, but wiped at his eyes to keep his vision clear. He didn't want to end up like that! He didn't want to be killed and torn apart!
When the ground suddenly gave in beneath him and the young navigator fell into a deep hole, he couldn't hold back a scream.
His heart was beating out of his chest as Chekov tried to get back to his feet and he felt sick to the stomach.
"Oh my, I should have warned you about the trap doors, shouldn't I?" The amused chuckle of his captor reached Chekov's ears and he raised his head and looked upward. "Don't worry, Mr. Chekov. I'll save you a special place in my beautiful collection."
