Kou’s “vacation” is cut short when he’s ordered to return to LUKIS and resume his responsibilities at the agency, but as fate would have it…the city of Edge isn’t finished with him.

A chapter that’s still setting up the story, but at least we’re into the ‘present’! 

The entity known as LUKIS that Kou and Leann work for is never really explained in detail, so I loosely based it on organizations like Interpol and the CIA. Except they concentrate more on corporate-based crimes or illegal activities that are beyond the capability of national task forces. Basically, whatever bullshit I can concoct that would make sense for these two losers to be running around, solving crimes and helping save the day no matter the case! 

Not that Kou or Leann wouldn’t bend the rules sometimes, but hey, let this writer justify what she wants. >.>;  

Once again, my heartfelt thanks to @graceadee for editing this story and this chapter for me! There was some misunderstanding on my part, so some of you may have seen the incomplete version that went up, but it should be all set now! Please let me know if any technical errors remain since transferring from GDocs always seems to mess up my formatting.

Been awhile since I hung out on here, eh? Not for lack of remembering this account, but I’ve been rather stagnant in my overall activity as I dedicated a good several months to this project. I’ve still got to hash out the epilogue and a little bonus for this story, but I’m far enough along that I’m confident to send my baby off to be edited and gradually posted. 

Inspired by such creators as @coelasquid (who you should also TOTALLY CHECK OUT ON TWITTER to be inspired by other such gems as her love for FFXV or her official work on the new Ben10), this story has been in the works roughly since the start of the 2019 year during the small influx of interest during its anniversary. I’m a slowbro when it comes to massive projects though, so ya’ll are just now getting the details. 

It’ll be broken up into two segments: flashbacks (such as this prologue, which are supposed to resemble the cue cards between levels in the game) and current events (which the following chapters will be, like how the gameplay went in the original). I really wanted to pay homage this way and I hope readers enjoy the nod as my fic progresses. \o/

My greatest thanks to @graceadee for beta reading. I’m still having some difficulty when transferring documents from GDocs to AO3, so pardon any formatting errors I missed!

Ahahah, whoops! I’ve been kind of lax at notifying everyone about updates to my Tipping the Scales series, so unless readers have the AO3 story bookmarked then you’re in for a surprise! The next two installments have been added for your viewing pleasure.

I’ve been trying to keep a ‘once a month’ schedule with uploading. If nothing else and I forget to post a reminder, then I’d recommend just checking in at the end of each month for a new chapter!

As of uploading the latest part, all 12 of the main story is completely written and just require beta reading by @graceadee​, with the bonus part in the rough draft stages. \o/ Basically, I like to think I’m on track for having this done before the end of this year, yaaay.
