From Awareness to Action:
As part of a school project, I took the initiative to set up a stall at our Christmas carnival, aiming to educate and inform people about the Irular tribe. Through conversations with these remarkable women, I learned of their inconsistent income due to limited market reach and lack of modern connections. My goal is to bridge this gap and integrate them into the present day.
The stall proved a resounding success, raising around 6-7k rupees from the sale of their herbal products, which were presented alongside their unique traditions and cultures. This sum was then donated back to the community, bringing smiles and gratitude to their faces. I am incredibly grateful to the school administration, teachers, and fellow students for their support in making this initiative a reality.
The Journey Continues:
This is just the beginning. I, along with the Ela Green School community, am committed to continuing our support for the Irular tribe. We aim to create sustainable solutions that empower them to thrive in the modern world while preserving their cherished traditions. Together, we can ensure their voices are heard, their skills valued, and their rich cultural tapestry continues to shine brightly for generations to come.

Tamil Nadu has a plan for portability in registration of properties in sub-registrar offices
CHENNAI: In an effort to safely secure the registration of properties, the state government is plotting to allow all sub-registrar offices in a proper registration district to monitor properties falling under its jurisdiction. Hitherto, sub-registrar offices can only control assets that appear to support their personal revenue jurisdiction.
Tamil Nadu, is divided into 50 registration districts and which has 37 revenue districts. The Chennai zone is divided into five registration districts embracing the revenue districts of Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Chennai and Thiruvallur.
The Chennai zone, which values ​​for 45% of the entire revenue produced in TN within property transactions, is estimated to be the most significant successor. Residents, who can travel 30 km from the core city areas to register properties set up in outlying cities, can now visit the sub-registrar office adjacent to their homes.
Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts will also benefit the people as the official boundary of the Kanchipuram District Registrar Office covers the entire Thiruvallur district. Cross-registration of properties from one (registration) district to another, however, will not be allowed.
'Proposal under consideration of government'
For example, a person residing in the core city area who needs to sell a tract of land in Padappai is not required to inspect the sub-registrar office of Padappai. Alternatively, he can manage the sales deed at Adyar or Guindy's registration offices.
Currently, district registrars in particular have the ability to provide land registration in any office in their (registration) district. Another official said, "This is decentralization of these capabilities for all registrars." The system is currently supported beyond the Pune region in Maharashtra, the source continued.

The Real Estate Regulation and Development Act (RERA) was brought into effect back in 2016 to protect the rights and interests of homebuyers across India. 1. Quality Construction Guarantee

The formation of RWA (Residents’ Welfare Association) is mandated by the Act
3. Carpet Area Declaration
The term ‘carpet area’ is unknown to most of the homebuyers and thus has been unregulated and misused until RERA came into effect. By defining strict guidelines, RERA brought in a great level of transparency by enforcing builders to cite only the carpet area of any housing unit when advertising it. And now carpet area has been redefined as ‘the net usable floor area of an apartment, excluding the area covered by the external walls, areas under services shafts, exclusive balcony or verandah area and exclusive open terrace area, but includes the area covered by the internal partition walls of the apartment.’
